Behind the Scenes of the NEW Masterclass! Doors are OPEN through the 21st!

In this live behind‑the‑scenes session Christie Renee Hawkins walks participants through every aspect of her 2025 Florals Masterclass, a 10‑week, 6‑module online art program that mimics an art‑school experience. She explains the curriculum (inspiration hunting, photo‑shooting, still‑life setup, color theory, supplies, mindset, and original creation), the weekly release schedule, implementation weeks, live Zoom Q&A sessions, and the private Facebook community. Christie clarifies that the Masterclass is a one‑time‑a‑year offering (sign‑up deadline March 21), provides lifetime library access, and details pricing options ($897 one‑time, 3×$333, 9×$125). She highlights bonus content (Art Fundamentals 101, Basics in Acrylic, three floral tutorial bundles, AI/Canva lesson, four new demo paintings) and contrasts the Masterclass with her other products – Painting of the Month Club and the Tribe VIP membership. Frequently asked questions are answered: recording availability, live‑call access, future‑year availability, platform navigation, material formats (canvas, mixed‑media pads, wood), and business‑side guidance (paint parties, selling art, monetization pathways). Throughout, Christie emphasizes growth mindset, community support, and the promise that participants will receive step‑by‑step modeling, personal feedback, and a certificate upon completing an original painting.
Chapters
I'm going to pull up some information about the masterclass. How many of you got to see that live yesterday? I kind of went on a tangent and told my whole story. That was not planned. But the point of me telling my story and my journey was to remind you that we all start at the same place. Okay? So if you loved this workshop and you really want to keep diving deeper into this artistic journey, into your painting journey, That's what the masterclass is all about, and it's really like going to art school with me. I'm taking everything that I learned while I was in school, and I've condensed it down into 6 modules that are spread out over 2 weeks. So I'm going to kind of go over that with you, and I'm going to pull a chair over instead of hovering over this desk. Okay, thank you guys. I'm glad you loved the story. You know, sometimes you just never know what's going to happen live. And like, I started to tell just one part of it and then I was like, well, actually kind of makes sense to just share the whole journey, right? So, um, because I could have never predicted I was doing what I'm doing right now with all of you. Um, and it's wonderful and it's amazing and I'm super passionate about the masterclass because of that exact reason, because I know what it can do for you if you choose to take the leap of faith and jump into it with me, because I've seen what it did for the women who did it with me last year. And their stories have just inspired me and made me so happy. I mean, several of them are coming back for year 2 because they know they can learn even more. And I think it's important to remember, like, we never quit growing. We never quit learning. I mean, I guess you can choose to quit learning if you want to, but if you're passionate about something and you love paint and you love what you got to do in here and you want to do more of that, you want to experience more of that joy, you want to continue to build your confidence and you don't want to go back to just doing it on your own. Now that the workshop is over. So I think that's really the big question for a lot of you is, what do you want next? You know, do you want to do— and again, there's no right or wrong answer to this, but like, do you want to just continue and do step-by-step tutorials and you're not interested in learning more about art and design and color theory and, and why I make the choices that I do, right? So that's fine, then Painting of the Month Club or my Tribe would be a great fit for you. But the MasterClass is going to have everything, everything that Painting of the Month Club and Tribe offer, and then go so much deeper than that. In addition to that, these are modules that are in your member library. So it's a very different way that I teach inside the MasterClass than any other thing that I do. Throughout the year. It's only offered once in 2025, so you have until the 21st to sign up, and they're all in modules. So each Monday of a week that a module is released, because we have some implementation weeks in there, on Monday you log into your member library, we send you an email, new module dropped, log in, check it out, and then I'm actually going to show you a behind the scenes of what that looks like. I haven't shown this yet. Hang on just a second. Okay, and Megan, if I'm missing any questions now while I'm pulling this up, if you wouldn't mind dropping those in that doc too. Okay. Give me just a second. We got a lot of products in here. I gotta go through, do a quick search. Okay, I think it's gonna let me preview it. Okay, perfect, perfect. I'm gonna come back here. Peggy said, because of surgery and life getting in the way, will the masterclass be available next year? I can't promise that, Peggy. So what I would recommend, I don't know exactly what I'm doing for 2026 yet. Yet. But what I would recommend, because it's only offered one time a year, is that you go ahead and sign up for it if you're interested in it. And even if you can't participate in the live Zoom calls, the rest of it is all in your library and you have lifetime access to it. So just because spring doesn't work out for you to be able to do it with us, that really doesn't affect anything. You're still going to have access to those Zoom calls. You just won't be on them live with us. But maybe you can make a couple, but the actual content of the masterclass, you'll have access to that and you can take it at your own pace. You can still be a part of the Facebook group and the community and see what other women are doing until you're ready to start on your journey and start on your module. So, I know timing was an issue with a couple other people. And that is my recommendation, because it's not something we'll offer again in the fall. If you miss the deadline, doors are closed. So once we close the doors, we don't open them back up. Um, okay, let me get this screen pulled up here. Is it this one? Um, Anna's asking— thank you, Anna, first of all— um, you have a painting from a long time ago that's acrylic and oil, how would I make sure it's clean? I mean, I would just wipe it down with a cloth and then varnish it. Okay, so this is what your member library will look like. This is last year's masterclass. So you'll have an introduction from me, and when you click on these, these are all going to be short little videos. If there's anything for you to download, that will be over here. So we'll have an updated workbook that will be in the new masterclass that you'll be able to download. You can make comments. Underneath here. So there's, you know, a little bit of community aspect here in your member library as well. I'm going to go back to modules. So, um, this is just an overview of the modules. Module 1 is a deep dive in finding inspiration anywhere, everywhere, and not just, um, finding it, but hold on, I'm going to see if I can get this. No, it's not going to work. Nope, you don't need me that big. That's what I wanted. Okay. I'm going to click on this because it's not just what you've learned in this lesson, right? Like, all of that's here so you can easily go back. Like, if you forgot how to make inspiration boards on Pinterest, I go over here and explain how to do that. We talk about how not to copy, but to be inspired. And then session 3 is taking your own personal inspiration photos. Session 4 is showing you how to use Unsplash. Session 5, I literally walk you through how to create a still life, how to have good lighting for it. Session 6 is how to photograph your still life. So within these, you'll see, like, this one is like 6 minutes long. So these are short little broken down things that you can do a little at a time. It may sound intensive, like, I mean, it obviously is intensive because you're learning a lot, but it's broken down into small little bite-sized pieces that are not going to be overwhelming for you on a weekly basis. So, like, that's session 1, and then I go into— and I'm actually going to add a new lesson in here for the 2025 year. This one was showing how to use AI in Canva, and now, you know, things change so quickly with what you can do online. I have some additional tips and things to share with you guys this year. So actually, throughout all of these separate modules, I'm going to be popping in and adding new sessions to several of these, just with some updated information that I've learned over the last year since the last time we did this. And then, so that was, that is just Lesson 1. So remember me talking about, this is Module 1, and then inside the module there are lessons. So Lesson 1 is finding inspiration, and then we break that down. Instead of me doing one long video about finding inspiration, we break them down into sessions. And so these are all mini sessions that are broken down for you after that. So same thing with the getting organized, talking about how to organize. All of your images, saving them, creating inspiration boards. Really fun, fun stuff there. And then how to actually get it on your canvas. How to— okay, now I have an idea. Now I have a photo. What do I do now? We talk about supplies and then we talk about mindset. So that is an example of what you can expect in Module 1. Jean said, was the masterclass segment recorded yesterday? I missed it and would like to hear. Yes, I actually shared it into the Facebook group too. So you can either go, you can either go to the Social Easel Facebook page, or you can go to the group and I pinned it to the featured section. And that's the live that I did yesterday. Christine, so again, Tribe and masterclass are not related at all. TRIBE is a member— is my VIP membership, completely separate from the masterclass. So you get lifetime access when you purchase this masterclass. You do not have to be a member in anything else that I offer to take this. It doesn't change your access to it. Once you purchase this, you have it forever. Gloria said, are there Q&A times during the live masterclass? Yes. So let me switch. Over here. Give me just a second. So this is an overview of what you can expect inside the masterclass. Like I said, 6 modules over the span of 10 weeks. And so I'm going to show you the schedule here in just a second. Um, but the schedule in which they're released, we have implementation weeks in there. We have graduation week. You will get a certificate when you complete your first original. So, all kinds of fun things, over 125 individual lessons like I just showed you within those modules. And then we don't just have lives like I do here, right, where it's me just talking to a screen. We do Zoom calls. And so everyone gets on, we can see each other's faces. It builds our relationship, it builds our community. And they're amazing, and one of my favorite things about the masterclass, because it's one-on-one time with me and you guys, and the questions that are asked, and the women sharing their artwork and sharing what they're working on. All of those questions help all the other members in the group as well. So I love, I love that part of it. Let me go to the side here. And then we do have a private Facebook community. So again, very similar to this, it'll be set up exactly the same way where you can share and post and talk to each other. And the fun thing about the master class that is different from this is everyone is working on their own design. So it is so cool and so inspirational to be in that group and see what all the other women are working on and what their process is. And did they choose to do a still life? Maybe they painted from a photo. Maybe they took a whole bunch of ideas on Pinterest and combined them all together. I walk you through each one of those different ways of how to do that. And then in this year's version, I'm actually adding 4 brand new paintings that I'm gonna do again, where I'm gonna show you exactly how I go get like one of them. I think I'm gonna do is gonna be irises. I have this beautiful photo of irises, and I'm gonna take that as my inspiration, and I'm gonna show you how I'm gonna turn that into a painting. Then I'm gonna do some from my still life that I took photos of last year when I was teaching this master class, but never actually made a painting out of it. So I'm gonna use that still life in a couple different ways, show you how I would make a painting out of that in different styles. So, whether one be more realistic, one be really whimsy, maybe one more impasto style, I don't know, because I haven't created them yet. So those are going to be coming to Module 4, and those are brand new to the course this year. So again, there's just so much knowledge you're going to gain, and what I'm hoping is by adding that new— those new lessons, It is literally modeling for you step by step exactly what you will do at home with your inspiration. You won't be confused and not just— you're not going to come into this and get all these ideas and then feel like you don't know what to do with them or how to get them onto the canvas and how to turn them into a painting. Like, you're really going to have me for that entire 10 weeks to ask questions, to share your sketches and thumbnails and ask my advice. What do you think I should do about this? These are the colors I'm thinking. Like, we're going to go through all of that. All of that together. So the thing I love about this is you're not going to do it alone. And the thing, after interviewing so many of the members from last year, that was one of their favorite parts, was the community aspect of it. Not just having me, but having the other ladies in the group share their ideas and advice too. So again, you have lifetime access to all course material, and then there it's available 24/7. So whether You're morning, noon, or night, it doesn't matter. You can access your, your classes. So it's kind of like formal art school level education, but doing it with me in a private group. And then I was going to show you all of the— everything I'm scrolling on, all of this is available for you to read over when you click the link. So the Zoom calls will be on Mondays at 3 PM Central. That's just our best time. To cover all time zones across the earth, because we have people from everywhere. But I was going to show you kind of like the breakdown. So, the workshop, or I mean, the master class starts on March 31st, and that's when Module 1 will be released. On week 2, Module 2 will be released. This is Foundations in Art and Design, and then we will have our first Zoom call, and it will be over Module 1, so each week we'll give a full week to do that module. In some cases, you'll have more than a week, and then we'll get together on a call to discuss that previous module to make sure there were no questions over any of the material that you learned there. Week 3, you get color theory and color mixing. Again, our other Zoom call. Week 4 is an implementation week. So this is— think of it like a catch-up week. All right, you had these first 3 weeks of material. Again, you're on your own schedule. You can do those whenever you want to. And then you get this extra week here where you can work on everything, work on all the homework that I gave on those weeks. So I really want you to think about this like it's like going to college, but doing an online course of college, which now is like a totally normal thing. So you're taking an online course. In our education, in painting, in color theory. It's all these things that you— if you went to college to take all these classes, they would all be separate classes. There is no class that exists like this on a college campus where we take everything and combine it into one master class. That's why it's called a master class. It's everything that you need to understand painting with acrylics, to understand the fundamentals of art, and to learn how to start making your own choices and find your own creative voice in the process. So you can kind of see here, week 5 is when module 4 is released, and those 4 brand new paintings. And again, you don't have to do all those paintings, but I'm showing you those examples, and it's to guide you and model for you. But technically, you're getting 4 bonus tutorials as well. Week 6 is going to be when you start working on your original, and then we have an implementation week right after that. So you get a full 2 weeks to work on your, your original. And then, I mean, actually, it just continues from there from May 5th to June 2nd. You have almost a full month to work on that before we have our graduation week. So you can take all 4 of those weeks if you need them, because Module 6 that is released isn't more about your painting or, or steps for you to take. It's just kind of opening your eyes to the possibilities. We no longer live in a world where artists are poor, right? We live in a world where there are so many things you can do with your artwork. There are so many ways you can make money with your artwork. It is limitless. It just depends on what you want to do. And if you don't want to make money with your artwork, and you could care less about that, that is totally fine. You don't ever have to sell it. You may just want to gift it to people. You may not even want to do that. It may be for you and just to do something for you. If this is something you always dreamed about getting to do and learn and you never got to, this is your chance to do it. But I am sharing all of my information, all the different ways that I make money with my artwork. I walk you through all the steps that you need to do a paint party. And, you know, if you want to make money with paint parties, if you want to sell it online, if you want to turn it into product. I'm walking you through all of those things, and again, I'm going to sprinkle in a couple extra sessions into this. So the masterclass— this one is for floral, so it's called a Florals Masterclass, and all that really means is that that's my subject matter. So I'm going to go Big again for a second. So the same— here's what I want everyone to realize. The same methods that I use to create floral paintings are the same methods I use to create the chapel, to do landscapes, to do the peacock that you see up there. I mean, I've got Belize over here right above. Um, that's that tropical painting up there right above that. I have a bee on a lily. I have my pumpkin. I have a cup of cappuccino. All of those are using the methods that I'm teaching you in the florals masterclass. I just wanted to use florals, number one, because I love them, and I could paint them forever, and there's so many varieties that you can paint from, and so many different ways you can paint them. I wanted to focus in one subject matter, but all the fundamentals, modules 1, 1 through 4 are going to teach you what to do, regardless of whether you're painting florals, a pumpkin, a landscape, an animal. You're going to use the same methods. So yeah, hopefully that answers that question for you. Um, Ingrid said, do I ever paint on paper or always on canvas? Yes, you've seen my mixed media pads. I do full paintings in my mixed media pads, and if I love them, I take them out and I frame them. It's 11 by 14, mix media pad. So you do not have to just paint on canvas. I paint on everything. I paint on wood like this. This guy is a big wood board that I got from Hobby Lobby a couple years ago. I saw it and I was— and it was like on sale. It was like not very expensive at all, and it's just plywood in a frame. Um, but it's like 4 foot by 2 foot and it's massive and I love it and it's been sitting in my studio for 2 years and I finally put a painting on it and I love, I love that painting. It's my new favorite one. That one's going in my home, um, in my kitchen. Um, Teresa said, what do I do if all I want to do is paint and I'm finding it hard to practice? So what do you mean, Teresa, by you're finding it hard to practice? I need, I need to understand what you mean by that. And does that mean you are just looking— you don't want to learn the, the understanding of like why I do the things I do, or how to create your own originals, but you're just wanting to paint? There are so many options for you. So you guys are taking notes, write this down. You can find me. Everywhere. If you're not already following me on YouTube, you can follow me on YouTube. There are hundreds of videos on there, free lessons that you can take. Um, I have a blog on the social easel.com. That's it. Social easel.com. Super easy. If you just Google social easel, my website will come up. Um, there's a full blog on my website that is all kinds of examples of different things you can paint, um, step by step, everything. All of those are free resources. Um, and then we have Painting of the Month Club, which is one painting that you get each month delivered to your membership library. So these are prerecorded as well, similar to how the masterclass is. You don't have any live interaction with me. You don't have a community Facebook group with me. It's just a painting delivered to your membership library on the first of every month. And then we have, um, Tribe is my VIP membership, and, um, that is where you do get live interaction with me. You get 2 new paintings a month. You get a devotional with me. You get critiques with me, and then you get access to the entire 6 years of my teaching. So every painting you see on the wall in my studio All of these, plus all the ones I have downstairs, all the holiday ones I have over here, all of that is included in Tribe. So, right now, those 2 memberships are not open. Painting of the Month Club will open on the 15th of this month. So you can just stay tuned for information about that. And then Tribe will be opening in April. So, you have— with Painting of the Month Club, you can join in and out of that every single month. There's no, there's no commitment. There's no anything to it. It's $20 a month, and you can sign up and just have that delivered to your membership hub each month. Um, Pam said, what is the cost? So let me pull this back up. Okay. Let me actually go this way. So there are, there are 3 different options for you. So you can pay $897 is going to be your best value. That's the cheapest way to get it. You can do 3 monthly payments, breaks it down to $333 a month, or you can do 9 monthly payments for $125. So, those are your options for payment. And then when you sign up, you get immediate access to these bonus lessons. So, you get Art Fundamentals 101, again, quick video on understanding the color wheel, and then the Basics in Acrylic, where we talk about brushstrokes and everything you need to know about all the different brushes, and then that actually comes with a bonus painting. And then you also get the bundle from florals that I've painted from a photograph. So again, this is modeling what I'm teaching in the masterclass. You get all 3 of these for free when you sign up. So you get the sunflowers, the water lily, and the spring blossoms. All of those are included, and those are just bonuses that if you're ready to just jump in and start painting before we get to the actual class, You can start painting these right away. Um, Donna, it's all on the sales page. So I just went over the entire timeline. It's right down here. So you can go back to that and look at it again, but your full course schedule's right here. I'm still updating the, um, workbook, and then I'll be dropping that into your library. But for right now, this gives you the full schedule. Um, Tanya said, is it possible for us to purchase one of your older modules? So, um, I don't sell any of my paintings individually like that. Tanya, um, she mentioned the hummingbird one. That is what my Tribe is. Tribe is access to all of my paintings. So, Tribe is only $47 a month, and you get 2 new paintings every month. The devotional, the critiques, plus access to over 200 of my paintings, the hummingbird being one of them. So we don't sell individual lessons. So the only way I continue to teach on a regular basis is through my membership programs. And I got to pack for Jamaica, y'all. So my oldest daughter is coming home from college. She's actually probably at the house right now, and we've got a lot of sorting and packing and figuring what we have to do. So I will be out of office for the next week, but my team will still be here for support if you guys need anything. Always just remember that you can email in christie@thesocialeasel.com with any questions that you have, and my team will get back to you. And then we were also going— I prerecorded interviews with the alumni from last year's masterclass. So if you're still thinking about it and you're not sure, I would really encourage you to listen to their stories and see the transformation that has happened in their lives. Those are going to be going live each day at 10 and 6, and we are sending emails out about those. So be sure to check your emails for any new information coming from us. And then don't forget to continue sharing here in the group. We want to see pictures of you with your paintings, and we're going to make a big collage to share how awesome this group was. I just want to thank you again. It's such a fun workshop. You guys were a great group. I've had so much fun, and I'm really, really proud of all of you because I know that there were steps of this that were intimidating, or maybe they still are, but that's okay, right? Like, we're doing the hard things and we're going to push through. If you need to go back to that mindset lesson, go back to that mindset lesson when you're having a day of struggle. It's okay to walk away from your canvas and come back when your mind is in a better place. Okay, but keep doing it. Don't give up. Keep pushing through, because that's where all the greatness is. The greatness is on the other side of the hard things. So, um, have so much fun painting. All right, I will talk to you guys soon.
