Florals Masterclass - Final Live Q & A with Christie

Hello everybody, how's everyone doing tonight? We are live for our final Q&A for the workshop as well as for any questions you guys have about the master class. Um, before we jump in and get started though, I want to remind everyone, if you didn't see the, um, notice in the group, or if you didn't see your text or your email, um, we have decided to extend the workshop through the weekend. So, um, I already noticed in some of the comments as that video was playing that a few of you were sad that you missed out on the video, said that they were going to be taken down tonight. So the good news is They are not. Um, uh, let me see really quick. Um, we are going to keep them up through the weekend. So when I finished painting yesterday, we just had a ton of, um, feedback saying, can we please have it through the weekend? So I talked to the team, we extended it, changing a couple emails, um, to go out to you guys. So we did decide to, um, extend access to the workshop through the weekend. So we had a slide at the beginning kind of showing our work through the week, from the beginning lessons with photo and composition to our color theory class, and then to day one of painting. So let's check out all these finished paintings. How beautiful were those? Um, I just loved seeing them. And I mean, there's more than that. Like, as you know, Megan had to put that together earlier today, so if you didn't see your finished painting on there, um, please, uh, continue to post and share them in the group because We love seeing all the progress, all the work. If you are behind, don't let— it's not a comparison game, so don't let that, um, affect you. Just take your time when you can, um, to go through the material. But I am just so stinking proud of everyone and the work that you've done so far, um, with the workshop and For me, it was just— it was so fun to see, um, all the different styles, all the different designs, even though we're painting the same subject matter, how uniquely different each one of them is for each one of those paintings. And I love it. And then, um, I don't know if you saw some of the originals. So, I mean, we had women within just this short 10-day window, um, create their own original florals from photographs that they took. And imagine if you can do that in this short span of time, what you will get out of the masterclass. And that's what I'm so excited about. Module 1 will be released to everyone on Monday morning. But, um, I have— the reason I have this quote at the top of the page too is because I think what I have seen this week as well, talking to you guys. And we spent a fair amount of time on it yesterday during our session 2 of painting, is really all about mindset. And, um, I really want to talk to you guys a little bit about it, um, before we dive into the details of what is the masterclass. But, um, I decided to put this quote up. It says, your dreams start becoming reality the moment you decide to take action. And I want to really just kind of camp out there for just a minute because I know for a lot of you, um, just seeing the comments this week in the group and our Tribe Sister Community, a lot of you have been on the fence about whether or not to do this masterclass for various reasons. But one of the main ones that I saw was a lack of belief in yourself or doubting whether you may have what it takes to be a part of this masterclass. Um, and I just want to stress that this is for everyone. Um, it doesn't matter what level of painting you're at. It doesn't matter if you're brand new, if you're seasoned, if you've been painting for a while. Um, just the way that I teach, um, in any tutorial that I've ever done with you guys online it is meant for anyone at any experience level. We are going to go through everything step by step. And it really made me think a lot about even my own career path and just like to kind of remind everyone, you know, I think it's easy to look at people who are further along than you. And think, well, they can do it but I can't. And so I kind of want to speak to that because it's no different than where I am now and where I was a little over 5 years ago when I started this online journey. I didn't know what I was doing. I was just a girl who taught paint nights and had fun with ladies painting. I knew I could teach people how to paint, but it was in a completely different environment. And then I came into this online space and I knew I had to make some changes for myself and for my family because I wanted that flexibility. And I wanted to stop being gone in the evenings. And it didn't just happen. I didn't just wing it and I didn't just figure it out on my own. I took the steps, I took the action that needed to happen. And I absolutely was scared and I was nervous and doubted myself. And I'll just say this, that doesn't go away. I still doubt myself. I still get nervous sometimes. I put this off, offering you guys this course. I put this off for 2 years out of fear, out of fear that it wouldn't be the right fit for you or that no one would want to sign up and take this class with me. And I let all that negative energy and those negative thoughts and fear stop me. From doing something that I knew God was calling me to do. So, and I've said it time and time again, the only thing to stop fear is to take action. And that's what that quote is all about. The moment you take action, that fear starts dissipating. And for me to get where I am today in my art, in my career, in everything, I didn't just get there I took the next step that I needed to take at that time. When I started The Social Easel 10 years ago, I was a one-woman show and stayed that way for 6 years until I brought on and had my first team member. And that was scary. I didn't even know how to do that. But here's what I did. I took the classes, I took the workshops, I took all of the courses that were going to give me the knowledge to get to the next place that I wanted to be. So that's what I want you to think about today, is are you feeling like you want to know what it would be like to be able to create your own artwork? Are you wanting to feel that confidence when you sit down at a canvas that you no longer doubt yourself? And maybe it's a lifestyle change. Maybe it will mean extra income for you. I know a lot of, um, the ladies in my tribe group, they are retired or close to retirement, and they're looking for a new chapter in their lives. And this is such a great opportunity for you to tap into that, whatever it may be, whatever you're wanting out of it, whether it just be to become a better artist and learn some of those art and design fundamentals that I'm going to teach you in this course, or maybe it is so that you can someday make a career out of your artwork. I just know when I think back to my own life, I couldn't have planned this. I just followed the next step that God was urging me to do, and I just kept doing that. And I still keep doing that, keep taking the action. Those dreams that maybe keep you up at night, don't give up on them. I'm 45 and I am finally, you know, like, it took me years to get to this point to, to live, um, my dream. And it's so fulfilling in so many ways, and it's so much bigger than anything that I could have predicted. But you just have no idea what God has on the other side. Of this. You have no idea what, what he has on the other side of that decision, that decision for you to take action, and reward you for doing that and stepping out in fear but trusting him, trusting him to lead the way, trusting the process, trusting me. And if you are doubting yourself or wondering whether it's right for you, I'm gonna leave that to the ladies in the comments. To help reaffirm that for you, because so many of these women have been painting with me for months and some even years, and I've seen how much they've grown and I've seen how much it's changed their life. And this is taking all of that to the next level. This is going deep with me. This is basically like going to art school with me inside my art studio where I'm going to take you behind the scenes of everything that I do to create my original artwork. Deb said, will this be similar to painting 1 or 2 first-year art classes in college? So it's kind of all-encompassing, Deb. So if you went to art school, um, and you took painting classes it's a whole lot more than that. So when I went to art school over the span of several years, back when I was in my teens, 20s, and then again as an adult when I went back to, um, finish my degree, I've had over 6 years worth of art school. And, um, so it is encompassing all of that, not just painting, but you will learn how to make sketches, you will learn the fundamentals of art and design, we will go deep into color theory deep— deeper than what we've done in this free workshop, and it is going to be all-encompassing. In addition to that, I'm going to teach you things that I didn't learn in college, that I learned by building this business and coming up with my own, um, ways of painting over the last 25 years. So I'm even going to teach you how to create your own still lifes, how to photograph still lives, how to photograph, um, your final paintings with great lighting, and what makes great lighting, and how to edit those so that you can turn your original artwork possibly into things that you can put on products or print on demand. You can even sell prints of your artwork. So we are going to go through all of the stages of what I learned in art school, what I've learned having a business for the last 10 years as an artist and what you can do with that in your future and show you the possibilities of how you can take your art, um, further and make money from it. Um, Veronica said, I was believing God for the money to take the class, not knowing where it was going to come from. Then the night before last, my daughter stopped by with a cute little bee coffee cup, and inside was $600. She was repaying me for money I loaned her months ago. That I was not expecting in return. God is never late. He is good. I love that. Thank you for sharing that with us. Um, I— it's happened so many times in my life, his faithfulness and, and showing up like that. And I mean, you just know, like, that's what I call like a little God wink. You just know that he's like, here you go. I know you didn't know where it was going to come from, but I got you. Um, Deb said, I'm debating on continuing college courses or just taking the master class. So Deb, I can tell you this too. I know that taking college courses is a whole lot more expensive than taking my master class. Um, here's the other thing. You can go to college, you can take those classes in person, and then you have no way to go back. You have no way to go back to that material that you taught, or that you were taught, other than the notes that you took, obviously the artwork that you created. When you join the masterclass, you're going to have lifetime access to these videos and this content. If you forget something, if you were like, what was it she said about whatever, you can just log back in, go to your library, find that lesson if you need a refresher. And this is what I love about it. It's, you know, a lot of people are saying, I would love to be a part of it and I want to so bad, but the timing just doesn't work for me. I've got a busy spring.
