Join Christie and Heidi Easley giving painting and business Tips

In this 2021 live Facebook session, Christie Renee Hawkins (The Social Easel) and Heidi Easley (Texas Art & Soul) chat from a beach girls’ trip, alternating painting and business advice for their community of creative entrepreneurs. They stress that art should be fun and practiced, recommending mixed‑media pads, regular brush‑stroke drills, and finding a personal style that feels authentic. On the business side they urge creators to go live regularly, plan content, embrace tech glitches, and be consistent, emphasizing "fail forward," grace, and the importance of a word‑of‑the‑year (joy, grace, breathe). They share personal stories of early failures, lack of formal art degrees, and how faith guides their work, encouraging viewers to prioritize God, family, and joy over perfection. The hosts answer audience questions about live‑stream organization, program recommendations (Constant Contact, Paint Party Headquarters, Paint Party Outer Limits), and the value of community engagement. The session ends with calls to follow their social channels and an invitation for future live collaborations.

It's going to work.
Work for Sarah Fine.
Maybe. Might be live, might not.
On our phones, no comments. I don't get We've been live this whole time.
Tech issues, y'all.
For a minute and a half we've been live and we didn't know it.
Well, welcome. Hi.
Uh, now just seeing wallpaper. Okay, we're gonna, um, give you guys a second to see if you can hear and see us now. Okay, we're back. Okay, so Tech issues, um, in real life, uh, because that whole time it told us we were not live and we're like, maybe we are live, let's look on our page. Okay, so we're here to, um, have some coffee with you guys this morning at the beach and to give you some tips from both of us. For those of you that don't know who we are and it's your first time joining us, Hawkins, and I'm the owner of The Social Easel and I teach women how to paint. And this is my friend Heidi Easley.
Hey guys, I'm I'm Heidi Easley, and hello, Tammy. Hey. Oh my gosh, we have so many people jumping on from Springfield, and I'm with Texas Art and Soul, and I teach people how to make money teaching painting online with art kits and in-person parties. So we're excited. We're going to share a couple— she's going to be sharing some painting tips. I'm going to be sharing some business tips. And, um, why are we together? What are we doing here? Like, this is normally not where we come live from. So let's talk about for a minute, what are we doing?
So, um, we are just having a little girls' trip, uh, one because we're just this big group of creative best friends, but it's also a business trip for us. So we're here to get away. We're actually doing, I think, more business than we planned on doing while we were here, but that's usually what happens when we all get together. Um, but it's awesome because it gives us an opportunity to, uh, brainstorm together and grow together, but also have a lot of fun. We laughed so hard last night.
Our team lost. I'm so Apparently I'm really bad at this game called— what is that game called?
Catchphrase.
Okay, I am awful at catchphrase, real awful. So, um, I think I brought the team down.
It was better last night.
I did better last night.
Yeah, but we laughed so hard. And for the rest of the day, I have one more interview today. Um, if you guys want to join me later over on Stu McLaren's page, we're going to talk totally business, which I usually talk all about painting, but he's going to do an interview with me at 11:30. You guys want to come see me over on his page. But then we're all done working for the day. Brandy scheduled for us to have massages here at the beach at our house, and then we're just gonna stay in our jammies all day and have some girl time.
Much needed.
But it's so, so important to get away and do that for yourself if you can. I know, like, depending on where you live, you may not be able to, but, um, we are here by ourselves. We haven't seen a another soul since we've been on this beach. So it's been awesome.
Very nice. Okay, so we're going to talk about painting and business. So I was thinking we could just kind of alternate. You tell a tip about painting, I'll tell a tip about business, and just kind of go back and forth. So what do you think?
Sounds good. Okay. Um, Amy, uh, hey, we are in Destin, Florida. She was asking where we are. So, um, we— these are not gonna be like super like hardcore tips. This is, this is my honest advice to any of you starting out painting, and my number one tip is to have fun and play. Art is supposed to be fun. This is not you coming to a class and you're being graded on this. I want you to do art because it fills your soul and it brings joy to you and it brings joy to others. And that is why we paint. That is why we do art. So I want you to have fun. I want you to play. But I want you to practice. Like, that is my number one tip is practice. You cannot expect to pick up a paintbrush for the first time and just nail it. You guys ever seen that show Nailed It with the cakes? Okay, it's kind of the same thing with painting. You can't look at a masterpiece, or you can't look at a piece of art that someone who has been painting for 30 years created and expect to pick up a paintbrush for the first time and make it exactly like that. You have to practice. You have to put in the time the same way you do with working out or eating right, any of the things. It's the same with painting. So that's my, that's my first tip.
Okay, so my first tip is find out what you like to paint. Okay, so I know for me, I have a specific style that I just can create and love, and it just makes me so happy. So anytime you're in business and you want to make money from your art, or, you know, being creative, or with your paint parties, even if you're doing them online, you have to have a style that you're really comfortable with. Because if you're trying to do a style that doesn't fit— I know it sounds weird, but it doesn't fit your soul. Like, when I try to do realistic paintings—
oh yeah, me too—
it is like, like nails on a chalkboard. I'm like, I mean I have drawn my grandma and it took like a month long and I was like, I hated every moment of it. Like that was not what I was created to do. But when I have big brushstrokes and I'm painting whimsical, like I'm in my happy place. So even if it's for business, make sure it's something you love.
That's a good one. And it's so important. So my second tip is more practical. Buy a mixed mix media pad. If you don't know what one is, you can go to thesocial easel.com, and on the side column you will see Christie's Amazon store, and you can go there, and all my favorite supplies are there, and the mix media pad is there. You can get this at Walmart, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, all the places. This is why I want you to get one, because there's something about a blank canvas that freaks people out, right? Any of you have that fear? You look at a blank canvas And you just stare at it and you're like, well, what am I going to do now? A mixed media pad is like a sketchbook for painting, and it is going to allow you to practice. My number one tip: fill the whole book with just pages of brushstrokes until you nail a brushstroke. Do one of my painting tutorials. If you don't have one from me, you can go to social easelfreebie.com and you can get the Winter Chapel for free. Do it in your mixed media pad. Practice the trees that I teach you in that on one page before you do the whole painting. Break it down into steps. And again, allow yourself that time to practice. Don't go straight to a canvas if that's what's stopping you from putting the paint to the paper. Okay, so get a mixed media pad so that, that fear and that like frozenness that you have that's stopping you from moving forward, take that obstacle out of the way and get a mixed media pad and just start painting. You're not painting for anybody else but you, and it's just going to allow you to practice and, you know, find, find your voice in your art and practice the brushstrokes.
That's awesome. Yeah, I actually am. And I see Debbie, she says, I've been painting dogs, cards, but not selling. And then Tammy says, I bought one at Michael's, attempted an angel on my first.
Awesome, that's great.
And good morning, Sylvia.
Hey, Shelley.
Okay, so I, I love that tip because I I even buy mixed media pads for my journaling. So half of it's journaling or ideas I have about my business, and then the other half is creating. So I love that tip. Okay, so my second tip is, if you are wanting to do this as a business, you need to go live and paint. So now that you have practiced in a journal, you know, a mixed media pad, now that you have, you know, found out what style of painting you like, now you need to go live and paint. And is it scary? Gary, how many of y'all on here have gone live before? And right now, I mean, obviously you saw the first, what, minute and a half we were live and we didn't even know it.
Yeah, you know, yeah, you've missed 3 years in, you're still gonna mess up sometimes, and it's okay.
It's okay. So you're gonna, you know, you're gonna have tech issues, you're going to have things like that that happen, and that is okay. So what we want you to do is we want you to remember that it's just a part of it, and but you have to start going live. So Tony says, good morning, beautiful ladies. I can't imagine my journey without both of you. Oh, thank you. So awesome.
Love you, Tony.
Yeah, and make sure, um, you check us out at The Social Easel as well as Texas Art and Soul if you want to learn more. So that was my second tip: go live and just paint even if you are nervous.
Um, for those of you saying that link didn't work when I said it earlier, I'm typing it in the comments and and hopefully this is going to show up. Except I put a comma. Hang on, ignore that, that's got a comma on it.
Rebecca, good job!
Now it went away.
Hang on. Oh, there it is.
Hold on, an error occurred.
Oh, because it has like a period.
Okay, we're gonna try this again.
Oh, there's Trudy! Hey Trudy! Hey Sandra!
This is why it helps having two people, so while I'm doing this I can still talk to you guys.
Yeah, and I know some of y'all have said you have gone live, and I remember my first— I mean, I've said this before, but it looked like I was high on drugs. Like, I was so terrified to be live that I, you know— and I always say, like, amp your energy, like, you know, 30%. And Melissa says, you're killing me with these beautiful waves in the background. I'm in the Midwest, no beautiful beaches near me. I discovered Heidi last summer, and I think she inspired me to start start painting, and I sold a couple of pieces.
Yay!
Congratulations!
Um, did you already read Trudy's comment?
What Trudy say?
Okay, uh, Trudy said, uh, in 2 lives a week, sometimes there are a lot and others there are only 3 or 4. How can I get more involved in my lives?
Oh, I love that question. So one of the things that I do a lot, I— we call it like the Mad Libs painting. So as I'm teaching a painting, I'll have like a turquoise or a pink here, for example, and I'll say, hey, what color do you want me to use?
Good idea.
And then I'll also do that with stencils. So I might have— I'll have 500 stencils, but I'll just pick 2 that I know will go with the design, and I'll say, hey, what about this stencil or this stencil, right or left? And then everybody will start, you know, coming in with their agent. Yes.
And yeah, I try to— I mean, kind of like you see us do. Mimic what you see Heidi and I do when we go live. We ask questions, we try to talk to you guys. We want this to be a back and forth. We don't want to come on here and just blah blah blah and listen to ourselves talk. We want, we want to talk to you, we want to answer your questions and engage with you guys while we're painting. That makes it more fun for us as teachers, um, and more engaging and rewarding for you guys because we can have that back and forth. So just create that engagement in your Facebook Lives.
Yeah, and I think too, like right now, Michelle, she's like, I'm wrapped in a blanket, I want to be with you. Like, when I read your comment, like, I feel like I'm, you know, right there with Michelle, you know, like we have this feeling. So I think getting comfortable— and the only way to get comfortable when you're on a Live is to practice Lives. Just like Christie was saying, you've got to practice your painting. It's the same way.
Yes. Um, I'm just gonna— I feel like I missed one here. Heidi, I'm gonna let you answer this. Actually, you know what, here's what we're gonna do, just so we can get our 3 tips in, and then, and then we will open it up to questions. So if you have questions, go ahead and put them in the comments, but Heidi and I will go ahead and share our last tips, and then we'll be able to go back and kind of hit some questions.
That sounds good.
Before we have to get off here, and I'm just watching the time, we probably have about 15 minutes, um, to answer questions, and then I have to get off and do another live after this. So, um, my, my final, um, tip— and this is just kind of like my advice from like heart to heart— is to give yourself grace. And, um, if you guys have followed me for any length of time at all, my word of the year last year was joy. And that led my entire year and everything that I did. It was to bring joy to you guys. It was to bring joy to myself, to my family, to to spread joy and to spread God's love. That was my purpose last year. That was my word of 2020. My word for 2021— I keep going back and forth on it, but I talked to Corey about it the other night because it's so important— is grace. In every realm of your life, you have got to give yourself grace the same way that God has given us grace. And we have to remember his grace for us and to remember who we are in his eyes and not ours. And that may seem like a weird thing to relate to art, but it's not, because in my membership we have thousands of women in there, and I see them beat themselves up and, and post and say, well, here's my painting, but I don't like this. We're always so quick to judge ourselves and judge our work and say we're not good enough, and we got to give ourselves some grace. So give yourself grace when you're learning Um, and don't, don't get stuck on the details. Don't get stuck on what color paint did Christie use. I can't paint until I have that exact paint color. I can't paint. So then you put it off for a day because you didn't get the Hobby Lobby and get the exact color of paint. No, you guys, stop letting the small stuff get in the way of you having that time with God, having that time to yourself, relaxing, forgetting the world, and have fun and just paint. Going back to number 1, and give give yourself grace if you mess up. You're not going to learn without messing up, okay? Number one, you can't. That's impossible. You have to make mistakes in order to learn and grow. So give yourself grace when you make a mistake and say, okay, now I learned from that, I won't do that next time. But just grace, grace, grace. Give yourself grace. Give those in your life grace. So, um, that's my third one.
I love it. Yeah, it's so important. And I love your word of the year. That's awesome. Mine is breathe this year. Um, okay, so my, um, last tip is be consistent. So, you know, I teach the business side of this, you know, and, and teach you painting tutorials, but also teach you how to have a business with this. So my big thing is success takes time, and that kind of goes along with grace, because I think so many times we, we, you know, see people online or we see people painting or we see people doing an online paint party and we immediately think like, why can't I immediately be at that level of success? You know, there are people that are, are way higher than where me and Christie are and we're still, you know, going for it, right? Because we have to be consistent. And I think that is my biggest thing is consistency and knowing that success does not happen overnight. Nothing good happens overnight. I mean, you think about wanting to lose weight, you think about wanting to, you know, have a better marriage. Like, it doesn't just all of a sudden, okay, I decide to do that and then now it's immediately happening. You still have to take those actions through fear, even when you're scared, and keep moving forward. So I really want y'all to know this, like, if you want to make money doing something, you know, with your painting or, you know, painting online or your paint parties or your art kits or whatever it is, You're going to fail. You've got to get back up, try it again. You're going to fail. And I'm always like, now that I'm so comfortable with failure, I don't know if you've gotten to that level yet. Like, so comfortable with failure. Like, I know the faster I fail, the faster I'm going to succeed. I mean, I was working on something yesterday and I'm like, oh my gosh, if I do this and that. And, you know, because when we get together, we start, you know, all talking about brainstorming. Yeah. And I was like, oh my gosh, I just need I need to do this and, and, you know, do this. And then it's like, the faster I fail, the faster I'm going to be able to succeed. So I am so comfortable with failure. It's— it has to be tied to success. And so when you get to that, that point, you don't care about what somebody's gonna say if you fail. You're like, who cares? Because we know, like, you know, you were saying, you know, like, my whole thing is sharing God's love through art and how I can help people make money for their family through that. And, you know, you have a similar mission in that, and I think that's why we connect so much, because we know that, you know, God's the ultimate creator and that this is what we were put here to do. And so when you have that strong drive about that, you don't care what other people think. So when I go live, yes, I'm nervous, but I know I need to help somebody, so I go there and do it. So that's my final tip.
Yes, I think that's so good. And, um, you know, for those of you that don't know us. I think a lot of you on here know both of us, but, um, we, uh, we did not know each other before we started our memberships, and we met in the process, and we just connected from the very beginning. We're both faith-driven, um, we both feel like we are doing God's work and doing God's calling. And to find that in life, um, is amazing, to find somebody else in life that does the same thing that you do and that we can partner together is just such a blessing. And we just feel God's hand on both of our businesses and our friendship. And, um, now I'm not—
don't make me cry—
but it's when you are focused on him and not what others think of you, it will change things. Um, because guess what, y'all? There are some mean people out there, and some of them send us messages, and some of them make mean comments. And it hurts. It still stings even now, even 3 years later, it still hurts and stings. But that's not why we're doing this. We're doing it for those of you that need to hear our words, that need to paint, that need that relief, that need that stress reliever, that need the money from the business. Whatever it is, that's why we do this. And we know that we are helping people and we know that we are spreading God's love through painting. And I know that's why he put us both here on Earth. And I love that he loves each one of us so much that he knows that Heidi and I love art and painting so much that he's like, I'm gonna let you do that with your life.
Yes. And, and provide for your family.
Yeah. Um, so I just wanted to share that. Um, and, uh, I lost my train of thought, but we're gonna answer some questions. We are gonna answer some questions. I was gonna say our partnership is me painting and Heidi business, and that's why it's so good, because I don't want to be a business coach that that's not my passion. My passion is art, and I'm— business.
I love walking y'all through all that.
It's just, we are like the perfect partners in crime with art and business. Um, but yes, we're going to open it up to some questions. And, um, I don't know if you saw one you want to answer, or I'll just scroll up.
Girl, make me cry. Oh my God.
And then just hit the show button whenever you find one, and we'll put it up on there. Okay.
Yeah, I think we saw a couple of questions here, and we're gonna stay on for what, maybe about 5 or 7 more minutes?
Yeah, let's— we got 7 minutes. We'll jump off at 10:40.
Oh, Sherry says, OMG, yes, I feel like a failure a lot. Um, then you are on the right track, Sherry. You're on the right track.
Um, I say fail forward, okay? You have to fail forward. That's how you keep moving. If you stop, you're not growing.
And Christie says— and Christie is one of the biggest things you shared for me was inspiration is Everywhere now. I see it everywhere. I love that. Oh my gosh, it's so good. Um, okay, so I know we had some questions up here, and then if you have a question, we'll check it out. Um, okay, so Beach Therapy girls trip is awesome. What has been your favorite— oh, last night. Yeah, last time we did— laughing. Okay, so for those of y'all on, on here that are in the business side of things, I mean, we get wound up tight, don't we? Like, you know, work is hard and it's a lot. So I think sometimes you have got to make time to laugh. And I think we got a good ab workout last night.
We did, for sure.
Okay, let's see. Um, Annie says Heidi always says don't go to your dream killers for approval. Yes, I do say that. Um, I like to surround yourself with the like-minded people, get solid advice so that you can improve True. Love both you guys. I found both of you at the same time. Focus on your art will do for others, and I'm having trouble letting others know I'm actually working. Oh my gosh, yeah, because a lot of times when you first start doing art as a business, and people, Annie, like, they don't realize that you can actually make money at that. And you will have dream killers, like, which means if you, you know, you get so excited about something, then you go word vomit it to everybody, and then their doubts and fears set in, and then they project them onto you. So a lot of times I don't share all of my dreams until I start to do them. Like, I write them in a journal to God. I call it co-creating with God, and I write all my, all my big dreams and scary dreams to God. And then I'm like, can we really make this happen? And then we, we go to work.
So yes, Leticia said, if you don't experience failure, then how will you know greatness? That's a good one.
That's really good. I need to write that down.
Um, let's just see.
Oh, there's a question, I think.
Okay, Elaine said, I want to learn all of the different programs you recommend, like Constant Contact. P.S., love your girl. Oh, thank you.
Yeah, Constant Contact, I teach you how to do that in Paint Party Headquarters. And then we also have a more like higher level program, which is Paint Party Outer Limits, and that's more intense. That's, that's way more intense marketing and is this?
Oh, Gloria said, I wish you guys did one-on-one private lessons. We would never see our family if we did that. So, um, but I will say this, inside my membership— and I know Heidi's the same way— I teach live inside my membership 3 times a week. So you get one time a week with me inside my membership, and if you join me live, you get to talk to me just like you do here while I'm teaching you. You get to ask me questions. That's a one-on-one. You're getting me as your personal art instructor inside those lessons. So that is how we do that. That's how we can help as many people as we can. We would never be able to help thousands of women like we do if we did one-on-one, and we would never see our family either. Um, Susan asked, uh, how long have you been painting? I've been painting since I was 5, so about, um, 36 7 years.
Yeah, I've been painting since I was 14 and I'm 41, so I don't know, I'm not that good at math. Um, Marlene says, um, oh, I think it's important, real quick, you know, my degree is in, um, psychology and marketing. I don't have an art degree. And so a lot of times I think people think you have to have an art degree and to do something like this, and You do not. I'm telling you, marketing, especially if you want to do this business, is 90% of this.
And guess what? I don't have an art degree either. I went to college accumulatively for— if I can say that word— for 6 years. And by the time I was in the final year of my graphic design degree, I started my paint party business and started making so much money with my paint party business, it no longer made sense for me to continue in graphic design and get my degree. So I quit. And went into business. And guess what, y'all? That's okay. Yeah, I do not have to have a piece of paper to know how to paint. You do not have to have a piece of paper to teach painting, to know how to paint. That's a load of bull. And in fact, I tell this all the time because when we get down on ourselves— when I took painting in college, I got a C, and now I teach thousands of women every single month how to paint. Don't let someone steal your dream. I could have taken that C from him and let it just consume me and beat me up and just ruin my entire art journey because I was devastated. I had never— first of all, I was like a 4.0 student. I did not get Cs. And then for me to get a C in painting, the thing I loved more than anything in the entire world, my heart was broken. And I just could not understand how he gave that me, but I didn't let it destroy me, and I kept going. And now here I am today teaching all of you: do not let someone steal your dream, and do not let failure, a piece of paper, any of those things stand in the way of what you're doing.
Yeah, and I think too, I always say this in Paint Party headquarters, I'm like, y'all, it's really not about paint parties. Like, at the end of the day, it's about sharing that joy, sharing God's love through art, and being able to connect with, you know, other people and a paintbrush and be able to have that, that, um, you know, just— I don't know about y'all, but it is therapy for me when I have a brush in my hand and I am painting and listening to music. Like, it is therapy to me. So, um, so again, don't let other people control what you want to have happen in the next year, 5 years. Like, do what you're wanting to do and have fun with it.
So I'm gonna pull Rebecca's question up, and we have about— this might be the last question we get to. Okay.
Oh, do you want to read it?
You go ahead. Sorry.
Rebecca says, how do you get yourself organized to go live? Do you have a plan and a schedule of what you do ahead of time, weekly or monthly? Yeah, so, um, I, I have an answer for that. Do you want to answer that?
I'll let you answer first because I'm waiting.
Okay, Rebecca, so I actually have, um, a couple of different things on my wall behind me that I always remember before I go live. So I always, like, you know, I always pray. I always say, like, God, use my words to glorify you. That's like my number one. Number two, usually I don't have my Sharpie with me, but usually I write something really like inspiring on my arm because I want a tattoo, but I'm really scared. And she has a really cool tattoo.
I'm at a really weird angle to try to show you this tattoo, but I had to get "be still" written on, on my wrist as a reminder who's in control and that I just need to be still and get out of his way. Yeah, yeah.
So I'll, I'll always like write stuff on my arm. And then another thing is, um, I always make a list of the three things you know, just like right now we have a list what we were talking to you about. I want to make a list of the 3 things that I, you know, whatever I'm going to tell you about. Because again, when you go live, it is all about helping you. So like right now, we didn't go live and go, oh, just look at this beach, let's just all look at the beach. No, no, our point was, yeah, you can see a cool beach, but then also we want to teach you something. Um, and then as far as like, I always go live twice a week no matter what.
Um, She's much more consistent than me.
Well, I'm not consistent as far as days go. Like Tamara, she's like, on this day, no, I'm not like that. But I get really inspired and then when I'm inspired, I take action when I'm inspired. But it's always, no matter what, it is consistent twice a week. So yeah, you just got to get consistent and do it because especially in business, that's what's going to make the difference.
I'm going to read your question again and give you my answer. But I'm— those of you that know me and paint with me, even inside my tribe, you know that, um, yeah, consistency is not my, my greatest asset. Um, how do you get yourself organized to go live? Do you have a plan or schedule of what you do weekly ahead of time or monthly? Um, okay, so I've been a hot mess all the way up into this point. Um, I have— Allison is one of my team members and, uh, she's amazing and she helps keep me in line. Okay, so my little brain wants to go all the fun places and I come up with all the ideas, but implementing them, I need someone to be like, Christie, you need to do this. So that's what does that for me. Yeah, that's what Allison does for me. And we are actually finally getting more organized. We're starting a plan for my Facebook Lives, thinking of what questions do I get asked a lot, what do you guys ask me a lot, what, what, where are you struggling, and can I make a live about that? Or like, what's what's fun right now, what's popular right now. The last 2 weeks I've done Valentine's things with you guys because Valentine's Day is coming up. Um, so we did roses last week and I taught you all these different ways to paint and draw roses. The week before that we did Valentine's cards that you can hand draw your own cards. So we try to think of things that are relevant for the time being right now. Um, and I am trying to be more consistent. My, uh, my goal is once or twice week. Um, lately it's been on Thursdays, so, um, that's—
oh, you got a day?
I have a day because it's the day that nobody's at my house.
Oh, that works.
I don't like people coming in and interrupting me during my lives. So Thursdays are my day, um, to teach live on the page, and Tuesdays I teach inside of my group. Yeah, those are my two days home alone. So, um, that's awesome. Um, I think that's I'm gonna— I can't find her.
Um, oh, there we go.
Sorry.
Thanks, Rebecca, for your question. That was awesome. Oh my gosh, this has been so much fun.
Have y'all—
have y'all liked this? Do you like— do you get anything from this? I just want to know, like, is this something you want to see more of?
And if so, because we can do this even when we're not at the beach together too.
Yeah, yeah.
Um, Rose said, Christie, do you still have your in-person studio? No, I don't. And actually, I never had, um, one like a physical location that people came to. I went to restaurants and, um, and went to locations to teach parties. And honestly, I would highly recommend that because you're not stuck in a lease, you're not stuck with a building, um, you can change it whenever you want, fill your calendar up or slow it down if you want to and not have something that you feel obligated to pay for.
Yeah, and Paint Party Headquarters, you know, we do have some studio owners in there, but I teach mainly the mobile model because that's what I've done for years as well as, you know, especially we have seen a huge pivot, you know, all of the members of Paint Party Headquarters. We went from even my paint parties being canceled one after another. And so as people are starting to get back out there and doing their paint parties in person again, we just really wanted to make sure you had the potential to do something online too. So I think it's so important that whether you're doing it in person or not, you start to have an online presence so that you can do this online as well, because it, it is a game changer and it will help your family in the long run. And yes, does it take time and it's hard at first? Yes. But everything, like anything great that you do takes time. Success takes time. So I'm always like, just go for it. Just start work, be consistent.
And don't think that— also, I want to be very transparent. Everything may look glossy and pretty from the outside if you are looking at us and we're here at the beach and all the things, y'all. We also struggle a lot together. We've cried together. We've gone through failures together. That none of this was easy. You just have to stay committed to it and keep moving forward.
Yeah. And then I think too, we, we're like, you know, this is hard, but we also don't want to look back on life and it all be hard. We want to make sure to schedule time for fun. So if it's working while we're here, like, we'll do that, but we also want to have fun too. So I think it's really important that you schedule your life, because if you're just building a business like crazy and then all of a sudden you have all the success but you look around and your family's gone and you, you missed out on your friendships and you missed out on— you know, Pixie, she only has 3 and a half years and she's leaving the house, and I'm like, I have one kid, like, I don't have any other kids coming back after, you know, like, I'm terrified, you know. And, and so you want to make sure you're building your business but also having fun while you're doing it.
So absolutely, yeah, yep. Put your family and God first, business comes third, um, and, you know, go to him with all of it. I would say would be both of our advices, and let him lead your journey. Neither one of us could have planned where we were right now. That was in neither We could not have imagined what God had in store for us. That was nowhere in, in my spectrum.
Yeah, and I mean, each one of y'all have a certain talent that you have that, you know, people need to see. And there's some, you know, there's somebody out there that you need to help. So yes, yeah, I'm excited for y'all. And yeah, anything else?
I think that's it. We're gonna go because I'm gonna be good. I gotta go rest my voice for a little bit. But thank you guys for hanging out with us. I hope you got something from it. Sprinkle it with your friends if you think they can get something from it. And Heidi and I will talk and maybe plan some more of these, um, coming up. Yeah, over the next few months.
Yeah. And make sure to go— if you're watching from my page, go follow her on The Social Easel. And if you're watching from her page, follow me on Texas Art and Soul.
And don't forget about Instagram, y'all. I'm trying to grow my Instagram. I know.
Please follow me on Instagram. It's like slow moving.
It's so different from Facebook, you guys.
Yeah, if you could help us out and go to Texas Art and Soul underscore and then go to the Social Easel. Yeah, that would, that would, yeah, do us a solid. We'd appreciate it.
Bye guys.
Bye.
