Okay, how about now? It's because I don't have the other screen on. Let me try this. Okay, there's still the echo. How about now? No echo? I think I'll start that intro all over again. Before I do, can you guys hear me now? Sorry about that. I was gonna put this on and then I thought, oh, I'll just go full face first, but I forgot that I muted the laptop. So that wasn't gonna work. All right, we're good. So today we are gonna finish up this pumpkin that I showed you guys a few weeks ago, how I used napkins to decoupage this. If you missed it, you can either go back to my Facebook videos here, or you can go on my YouTube channel, and it's just The Social Easel on YouTube, and you can find the video where I show you how to get to this point. Today we're gonna finish it up. I'm gonna add the little stick them back in the top. And then if we have time, I've got a couple more little craft pumpkins here that I thought we would try some different glitters on so you can see how the glitters work. Um, I've got some fun new glitter paint from DecoArt. And of course, if you have not seen this painting, can you guys tell I got my nails to match the painting today? So we got some glitter nails to match the glitter that's in the Funky Winter Flowers. This is my newest workshop. Um, sometimes I call them workshops, sometimes I call them challenges, but you can sign up for only $10 and learn how to paint this with me. Um, I am going to throw up my number really quick. If you want more information or the link to sign up to learn how to paint this painting with me, you can text the word funky. Don't add anything else to it. This is a keyword alert. So you're just going to text that word to that phone number that you see on the screen, and it will send you the link to sign up. But I want to tell you a little bit about it. So this is the Funky Winter Flowers. If you haven't seen my other ones, this is the last in the series of 4. So I started last fall. Um, we did Funky Fall Flowers, then we did spring, then we did summer, and a lot of you were asking for winter. And so we are doing a winter version, and I purposely didn't make it too Christmasy, because I wanted this to be something that you could leave up all through the winter months until you're ready to switch it out to that bright spring one. Um, so I hope you're excited about it. This one we are doing a lot of palette knife work. If you are not familiar with working with a palette knife, let me see if I have mine here. Um, that's my big one. I actually use the small one on this, but I'm just going to show you. In case you are new, let me know, are you new to painting or have you been painting a while? Let me know if you're one of my members. But so this is a palette knife. This is a larger one. My favorite set is in my Amazon store that you'll need for this, and I use the number 1. I think it's called number 1. It's the smallest one in the set, but we can use this with craft paint. Um, with this, we're even going to be adding some modeling paste to it, and I'm going to go live tomorrow and explain the difference between modeling paste and gel medium. And, um, so anyways, that is how I got this fun texture in these flowers. But if the palette knife scares you and you're like, I can't do that, I don't want to learn how to do that, you can do these flowers with a paintbrush as well. So I don't want to let the palette knife part of the painting, um, scare you. I am going to show you tips on how to use it, and I highly encourage you to try it because you may just fall in love with it like a lot of my other ladies have. Um, so, um, I hope you guys are excited about that. Again, text the word funky to the number on the screen and you will get a link where you can sign up for this class. We are teaching this live in a Facebook group next week, November 3rd through the 5th. Um, so they will be live lessons, but you can watch them whenever you want to. So you don't have to be on my schedule. You're gonna have lifetime access. So once we go live in the group and they're done, we will be uploading them to our website where you can log in and access the videos anytime that you want to. So you don't have to worry about your schedule, or if that's going to work for you. And it's the only time you're going to get it for $10. So even if you know you can't do this until December, or maybe even after Christmas, go ahead and sign up for the workshop now so you can lock in that $10 price. Um, what else was I going to say? Let me see if you guys have any questions about it. Um, trying to think. You get the supply list when you sign up. Mary already signed up and so excited. Awesome. Yes, if you are already a Tribe Sister, which is one of my members, we have a post in our Tribe Sister Facebook group with a link for you to join the group. It is included in your membership. Awesome. Catherine says she's so excited about the palette knife and loves the texture. I do too. Oh, awesome. Kathy said the Funky Fall got her painting again. Hey, Kim says she doesn't paint well, but she's watched a few videos. Well, hopefully you'll join us and learn how to paint this painting. Alright, so I'm gonna go ahead and remove that and scoot this over. So what we're finishing up today is I did this in my past Facebook Live, and then I, I don't know if you remember or if you caught that live or not, but I had to kind of get off in a rush because my 10-year-old daughter came in from school and I could hear her crying. And so I kind of just jumped off the live and didn't finish our project. So this has been honestly the first chance I've had to get back on here and sign up. So, um, Connie said, I didn't realize Tribe had a different Facebook group. Connie, make sure you're getting our emails. We send out a Tribe Sister weekly email, um, and the, the email that you should have gotten when you signed up all has that information. So Tribe has its own group, and that is where I teach live 3 times a month. So that's where your new paintings are coming from. So if you are having trouble finding those emails, just email customer service christie@thesocialeasel.com, and they will get you all taken care of. Gina says, I'm looking but don't see you live. Gina, I am live. You're watching me live right now. All right, so what we're gonna do— I've got some gold paint here. I already painted— try to hold this up for you to see. I already paint— I'm gonna take myself off here. You guys don't need to see me. Looking. Um, this will make it easier for you to view. I already painted this white with the multi-surface paint from FolkArt, and this is— anytime you paint metallics, it's always a good idea to do a base coat of white because it's going to make the metallics stand out more. So I've already got that, and then I'm just going to take a small brush here Now, if you were good, you would have probably a tablecloth underneath you so you don't get paint and everything all over your table, but I don't have any, so this is just going to be my messy painting table, kind of like my studio desk is. So I'm just going to put a thin coat of gold on there for my stem, and I'm just going to set that aside. I'm going to let that dry, and I'll probably come back and put another thin coat on there. So I'm just going to move that over here. So to get this finished— this still feels like soft napkin right now— we want to cover the entire thing in the decoupage. I have a gloss. You can pick satin or matte finish if you don't want that. So whatever you choose, whatever finish you prefer is fine. Actually, you know what, I want to try something new on this one. And the other one that I showed you as my example in the last video, I added some gold on here. So if you want to, you could add gold like in the creases of the pumpkins. Um, I did that on the last one. For this one, I actually want to make it all glittery, so I want to have a mixture. I've got several of these that I'm going to do, and I want to have a mixture of glittery ones and gold ones to put in with my decorations. I'm sorry, I did not tell you what gold paint we're using, Sylvia. Um, this is DecoArt. Um, I love these metallics that they have. This particular one is called Vintage Brass. 24-karat gold is one of my favorite ones, but this is really close. Um, Kathy said, where do you find the first of this project? You can go to my YouTube channel or my Facebook videos and it'll be there for you. I meant to pull the example in here before I jumped on and I forgot. Okay, so before I go to the glitter, I'm going to show you some different ones. And I've made this little card. I don't know if you can see this. I think that's pretty good angle right there, the difference between them. And we use these in this painting as well. So, um, I use 2 of them in the Funky Winters painting. So you can see it's this Holographic Illusions And you can get this at Hobby Lobby, or you can order it directly from DecoArt for the biggest selection. And I have a DecoArt link you can use. See how glittery— it's hard to get the angle right. Hopefully you can see some of that glitter, but in person, all these berries are super glittery. That's the holographic. This first one here. And then we have the Enchanted Shimmer, and it really is more of a shimmer than a glitter. So if you look, see, when I tilt this back and forth, that black stripe has some of that shimmer paint over top of it. So I'm thinking I want to use some of these glitters to decorate this pumpkin with. I'm gonna go with the holographic one. So this is holographic, is this first one here. And if you're not catching all of this right now, don't worry about it, you can just catch it in the replay. Um, the shimmer is that second one, and it kind of gives like a white opaque, more opaque white silvery finish. And then the galaxy glitter is like super duper glitter, very glittery. This one's called Clear Ice Comet, and they, they make this in a lot of different colors. I think they actually make several of these in different colors, but I got Clear Ice Comet, I got white in the shimmer, and then I got Crystal Ball. And the Holographic Illusion. So I want to put this on my pumpkin before I seal it in decoupage, and I think I'm going to try Holographic Illusion. We'll see if we like it. So who on here is ready to move on to Christmas, and who is still wanting to paint and craft for fall. I'm like right on the cusp. I've done a lot of fall stuff, so I'm kind of ready to move on to Christmas. So my plan is next week I've got all my Halloween decorations up, and these are actually part of it. They'll be up for a few more days. Um, you guys ever have weeks like that where nothing goes as planned? I had all these grand intentions of having all this stuff done and all these put in with my decorations, and here we are and Halloween's a few days away. But that's okay. But I think next week I'm gonna take all my Halloween down and I'm gonna start putting Christmas up because we're going out of town Thanksgiving weekend and I want to come home to a house filled with happy Christmas. Because it's my favorite holiday. We've got Christmas is my favorite. Sandy says fall. Rhonda says both. Candy says both. And I've got so many fun Christmas painting ideas that I'm doing with my tribe. I'm super excited about Actually, that's what I'm going to be doing later this afternoon is working on some new paintings. So you guys may see some sneak peeks of that as I'm working on them. Okay, this one's so fun. Can you guys see all the glitter on here? I'm going to leave this for just a second and I want to go grab the gold one that I did and show you the difference between the two. You guys are ready for some Christmas. So I'm gonna go live each day the rest of this week. So, um, if you want to be sure and catch when I'm going live— where's my— hold on, I'm looking for a banner. Well, I'm just gonna throw this one up. It says waitlist. You don't have to text that, but you can text this phone number, and the waitlist is for my tribe. So if you are interested in painting with me all the time, that's what my tribe is, and we are opening doors in November. So you will be the first to know, but you can also just text live alerts to that phone number. And every time I go live this week, I don't have specific times set. Set. So that's the best way for you to know is to get my text alerts. So check out the difference between these. Can you see the glitter versus the gold? This was, um, trying to get an angle, the camera better. This was gold brushed over the pumpkin. This is polka dot paper. This one I put a whole bunch of gold on. And then this is our glitter one, and I'm getting ready to cover this with decoupage to seal it. So this was just tissue paper. These were both the same napkin, obviously. Um, so anyways, that's just a fun little thing you can do with these little craft pumpkins, or you can paint on them. So if we have time— I'm not going to today. Maybe we'll save that for another day. Um, this week I have to get on a conference call here in about 20 minutes, so I'm going to show you how I decoupage this, and then we're going to stick the golden stem back in there, and that'll be our craft for the day. So remember, we already put one coat of gold on here, and I told you we just wanted a thin coat. I'm going to come back with a second coat, and it's going to make that gold more opaque so that it stands out a little bit more. Which one do you guys like the most? Do you like the gold or the glitter polka dots or the squares? These are Mackenzie Childs napkins, by the way. I love her stuff, so that was my inspiration, um, for doing the pumpkins initially. Hey Leslie, hey Linda. Okay, I'm gonna set that back down, let that dry, and then I'm gonna go in with my decoupage. Now I just left the glitter in here because it doesn't really matter, and then we're just gonna go over top. I'm gonna try to do one side at a time so I don't have completely sticky fingers here. But you're just going to apply a liberal amount of DecoPodge. That is going to seal it. Again, I'm choosing a gloss finish. You can choose matte or satin as well, but this is sealing and protecting your pumpkin because this was just a napkin, remember? So this is going to make it protected, nice and sturdy. You're not going to have to stress about it. Using my nails to hang on to this. So let me know what questions you guys have about paint, about the workshop that we're doing next week. What are your questions for me today? We have about 5 more minutes. I can answer a few questions for you before I jump off here. And then hopefully you can come back and join me the rest of this week for some more fun things. We may do something Christmasy. All right, it's got a nice coat all over that. Linda says definitely the gold. I have— look at all the glitter I have on me. Just kind of rub that off, usually works best. I'm just going to take the back end of one of my paintbrushes here, try to find where that hole was. We'll see if this will be— I'm going to end up messing my gold little top up. Hang on just a second, I need something a little bit sharper to find that hole so I can stick the stem back in. Okay, I think it's right there. All right, now I was being impatient for the sake of this Facebook Live because I have a limited amount of time on here. Normally I would tell you to let that gold stick them dry, but we can easily touch it up now that it's in here. And I think you'll see when this is completely dry, I'll post an after picture so you can really see that glitter shine on there. So you've got two videos, um, the first one's on YouTube, um, or my Facebook videos that you can go back to if you want to see how I did the pumpkins initially. And then this one is just kind of the finishing touches, sealing it, adding whatever finish you want, gold or silver, and then of course the decoupage to seal it. Thank you, Janet. All right, if you guys don't have any questions, I'm gonna jump off for today. I'm going to show you one last time the Funky Winter Flowers. This is your only chance. You have until November 3rd to sign up for this. It starts next week. So it's only $10 to join the workshop, which is just a killer price to get to hang out for 3 days and do this with me. In addition to— I do want to make this abundantly clear. I forgot to mention it earlier. Um, Part of the workshop, and you'll see this when you go to the link to sign up, um, but I verbally want to tell you as well, um, part of the workshop is also going to be mini devotionals with me. So I do share my faith, um, I'm open about it. I believe that, uh, God sees a creative person inside of all of us, and that's my goal, to help you bring that out. So we will start each day with a devotional that is going to help you overcome your fears about painting. It's going to help you trust in him, um, through this process of learning how to paint and finding that creative side of yourself, and it's going to help you find some joy. So those are the things that we're going to talk about at the beginning of each class. Again, it starts November 3rd through the 5th next week. It's only $10 to sign up. You do have to sign up by November 3rd to get it that price, because we will pull it, and then, um, when we resell it, it will go regular price that the rest of my paintings go at. So, um, hope you guys had fun crafting with me today. And then, like I said, I'm going to be back Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week, and we're going to keep on painting. And that's it. So I'm going to jump off here and I'll see you tomorrow. Bye.
