My Inner Tribe is officially open! Join me to paint 4 seasons tonight!

In this live YouTube session Christie Renee Hawkins (The Social Easel) announces the opening of her VIP painting membership, "My Inner Tribe," which is only opened to the public twice a year. She explains the two pricing options ($47 / month or $470 / year with two free months), the enrollment window (open now until Friday, with a 24‑hour early‑bird bonus of six extra tutorials), and the cancellation/upgrade policies. Hawkins then guides viewers through a step‑by‑step acrylic painting of a four‑season landscape, demonstrating color mixing, brushstroke technique, layering, tree construction, and how to correct mistakes. Throughout the session she engages with a global audience, answers numerous FAQs about the membership, community expectations, and technical details, promotes giveaways (happy‑mail), and reinforces the tribe’s core values of positivity, faith, and supportive sisterhood. The video serves both as a promotional launch and a live tutorial, offering concrete product information, artistic instruction, and community building.

Hey, I think we are live and I'm so excited to have you guys join me. If you're new to my page, my name is Christie Hawkins with The Social Easel and I'm so excited about tonight. Not only am I going to teach you this super fun painting for our PJ Paint Party, but the doors are open to my tribe, so I'm super excited. If you don't know what my tribe is, we're gonna talk all about it tonight. But it's my VIP painting membership. I only open it twice a year to the public, and that starts today. So we are open from today until Friday, and you have a chance to sign up and become a tribe sister. So I'm gonna be telling you all about it tonight while we are painting. So as you are getting on here, please let me know. First, that you can hear and see everything fine. And hey, Miss Sue. Hello, Diane. All right, we're already getting comments. This is good. I was, I was praying before we went on, no technical glitches, no echo. I'm ready to paint and have some fun with you guys tonight. Hey, Faye, ready from California. Shirley is in Atlanta. Yeah, let me know where you guys are watching from. It's one of my favorite things to see in the comments, um, where everyone is, because we're all over the world. We have Tribe sisters inside my membership from the UK, Canada, Australia, and the United States. So we are literally across the globe, which is just a little bit insane. We are celebrating about 3 and a half years. Um, the Tribe turns 4 next year. And we are just so excited to open the doors and welcome new tribe sisters. So really quick, I'm just gonna give you a brief overview of what my inner tribe is. This is my VIP painting membership. If you have enjoyed painting with me on the Social Easel, this is obviously my Facebook page. We do some free little things here and there, mini projects. Okay? And then I have my Painting of the Month Club, where you get one painting per month. That is handpicked by me. They're exclusive. You can't get them anywhere else. And we have my tribe. And this is my baby. We have about 2,000 women in this group that we have built over the last 3 and a half years. It is the most amazing community of women. We are all about positivity and painting. So it is a good vibes only painting membership and community. And inside this tribe is when you get 3 paintings per month with me. Um, and it's going to be taught in this style that you're going to see tonight with an overhead view where I walk you through step by step, um, 3 full paintings per month. And then you also have a guest artist, crafter, or business coach. And then in addition to that, you have a membership library from this 3 and a half years with over 135 tutorials. So I like to tell you to think of it like a Netflix library for painting. As long as you are a member, you have access to this plethora of tutorials, and you can start wherever you want to, and you can just browse that by genre and find exactly what you want to paint. So I'm really, really excited. We only open doors to the public twice a year, and the doors are open right now. So the link has been posted by my team in the comments. It's also in the description. Description, but feel free to ask questions while we're painting tonight too. So I'll be teaching and then answering questions at the same time. So I hope you guys are ready for some fun. Um, I'm gonna go ahead and get my paint loaded up on my palette and take a little sip of wine. Um, let me know what you guys are drinking tonight. Are you coffee people? Are you wine, tea, soda? What's everyone drinking tonight? Hey, Miss Tammy, thank you. I did put a little extra curl in the hair today, poofed it up a little. Hey, Miss Michelle, she's been a Tribe Sister for over a year. She loves Tribe. Thank you, so glad you're with us tonight. Hey, Linda. Hey, Pauline. So there's a lot of Tribe Sisters here in the comments. If you are a Tribe a Tribe Sister, type Tribe Sister. If you are Painting of the Month Club member, let us know that too. Um, we want to welcome and make sure that we say hi to all of our Tribe Sisters out there. We've got hot cocoa, water, Dr Pepper, wine, tea. We're covering the bases on the drinks. Okay, so for this painting, I did not give a specific paint list because It really doesn't matter. We're painting a rainbow, so I want you to find a red and orange, yellow, a couple greens, um, a blue. Oh, that just reminds me, I forgot a turquoise. Hang on, let me grab my turquoise. Can't forget the turquoise. So a couple blues and some purple and pink. And if you don't have all these colors right now, that's okay. You can just hang out and watch. Or if you want to, you can make up your own colors. I've seen this done in a variety of ways, and you don't even have to do the 4 seasons if you don't want to. You— this is obviously winter, spring, summer, and fall, but if you would like to just do some fall trees or some winter trees, you can do that as well. Hello, Nancy! Hey, Lisa! Hey Sheila, we would love to have you join Tribe. Um, so Tribe is— let me throw this up here for you— is $47 a month or $470 for a 1-year annual contract in which you get 2 months for free. So, um, those are your 2 options when you join Tribe. The monthly, you can cancel at any time, okay? So you're not like stuck into anything. If you decide to do the annual I tell you, I'm very clear about this up front. Don't do the annual plan if you're not 100% sure you want to hang out and paint with me for a year. Okay, because we don't offer refunds. There's no prorated refund if you change your mind. You get that rate because you are committing to a year. So that's your bonus for doing a year, is getting those 2 months for free. So those are your 2 options, um, and it's super easy. You don't have to do anything once you sign up. That fee is taken out on the same day that you signed up each month, and it continues to do so, um, as long as you want to be a member. And if you want to cancel, you just email the customer service team and they will take care of that for you. Hey, Miss Jennifer, glad you are here, and a tribe member for over 2 years. That's so awesome, Miss Pauline. And you're gonna see all these women here in the comments, they're also That's the community. So when you join, you're not just learning to paint with me, but you're really becoming a part of something. And this is instead of you painting on your own, you get to join a sisterhood, and it's women like Colleen that are in here. These are going to be your biggest cheerleaders, so you're not at it alone. And that's what I love about it is because, yes, you can absolutely watch my stuff on YouTube, you can watch it on the Social Easel page. There's plenty out there for you to learn, but it's not quite the same as being a part of this group of ladies because they're amazing and there's so much encouragement and love inside of this group. Um, in addition to the paintings, I also do a couple devotionals each month. So, um, again, we're a very positive, positive, uplifting, encouraging group, but I do share my faith. So, um, I love Jesus. I want to make sure that I give him the glory for everything that he's blessed me with, and I wouldn't be here without him. So, um, throughout my workshops over the last few years, I started mixing in some devotionals, and the Tribe sisters let me know that they really want that to be a part of our tribe. So I have added that in, and I do a couple devotionals a month, which is basically just me being real with you and sharing a little bit of Jesus and hopefully encouraging you to start your week off right. Hey, Miss Linda's on here. Um, Teresa said, if you are a tribe member, you continue to pay the extra— no, I'm glad you asked that, Teresa. I'm going to throw your comment up here. She said, if you are a tribe member, do you continue to pay the extra monthly fee for Painting of the Month Club paintings, or are those included? They are included. So tribe sisters get it all. That's why I call it the VIP membership, because you get such a value for what you're paying for. So it's $47 a month. Painting of the Month Club is $20 a month, but it is included for you as a Tribe sister. Some of those are taken from Tribe, and then every once in a while, especially over this last year, they have been exclusive paintings taken from previous workshops and challenges that I've done. But all of that is included with your Tribe membership. It automatically cancels your painting of the month one when you join, and you don't have to worry about it. Hey, Linda, welcome. Alright, so I've got my warm colors so far. I'm going to grab my cools. Now you're going to see me put these on a different side of the palette because I don't want them mixing. I'm going to start just a little bit I'm going to kind of make it look like the color wheel because all my cools can mix together and make more pretty colors. But like, we don't want to mix blue and orange together unless we're wanting a very muted down orange. So I'm going to keep those separated. So who all is painting with me tonight? Are you painting with me? Are you just hanging out and watching? Let's put the pink over here. I usually like to put my white in the middle because I mix it with so many different colors. Hey Brenda, awesome! Adriana just joined Tribe. We are so excited to have you. Yeah, let me know when you guys sign up if you're new. Um, let me know if you're new to painting with me tonight in general, but let also let me know when you sign up, because we would love to welcome you. All right, we're going to get our greens on here. This is just like a really pretty bright Kelly green. The one I have is Festive Green from DecoArt. And then I have kind of more of a lime green color. So just a basic green and a lime green. Now we've got all our colors on here. I am going to wait to put black on because we don't need it right now. Well, I'm glad you guys are hanging out and watching. Watching and painting, watching and painting tomorrow, painting tonight. All right, we got everyone doing everything. All right, I'm going to scoot my colors over here. And I'm actually going to throw this behind me. I think I'll be able to move for you guys to see that. Um, but we're gonna jump in to painting. So the very first thing I'm gonna do— I wish you could see that a little bit better. There's nowhere for me to put it on the screen. Hold on just a second. I want to make sure you are getting the full canvas here. Wrong way. Let's go this way. Come on. There we go. I think we got it. I am painting on a 16 by 20 tonight. Oh, I'm glad you've been looking forward to it all day. I only do these twice a year, so it's always fun. I will be live for the next couple nights as well, so if you have fun tonight and you want to come back and join me, you can do so over the next few nights. So the first thing I'm gonna do is kind of paint like this middle section. Let me move this because I want to kind of show you what we're going to do before we actually do it. So we're going to paint everywhere you see that background sky color. That's what we're painting right now. Then we're going to go ahead and paint the foreground. Then we're going to add the tree trunks, and then we're going to add the leaves. We did have a template available for you. That was just a special gift for you guys. I don't usually do a template for something like this, but I know that trees can be tricky for you sometimes. So I'm going to show you how to do them tonight. But if you are a little bit nervous about freehanding it, there will be a template. You can sign up and get the template emailed to you that already has them drawn on, and you can trace it onto your canvas with graphite paper. So this is the first thing we're doing, and I'm gonna break it up by sections. I'm gonna do some really cool blue sky over here. I'm gonna start adding in some turquoise. You can see a little bit of green behind there. So kind of like we have some foggy trees off in the distance, a whole bunch of mixed colors, and then we're gonna transition to our warm sky over here behind the fall tree. So, um, it'll be a fun little background and then we'll jump to the foreground. Is that better if I scoot that there? Now my head just covers the whole thing. How about there? Almost. I've almost got it. So you can sort of see what we're doing back there. Hey, Robin says she's been a Painting of the Month Club member for about a year, she thinks, collecting wonderful tutorials. Thank you, I'm so glad you've enjoyed it. Okay, welcome, Beth, said she just joined Tribe as well. All right, so we're going to start getting some paint. I am using just an angled brush. You can see mine's kind of flared out here. I'm going to wet that down just a little bit, and I just want it damp. You don't want a lot of water in your brush while you're painting. Okay, so I'm going to start with just some of my bright blue color, and we're just going to start making these brushstrokes. I'm not going to worry about any of that. All right, and I know I kind of want my winter sky about right there. We're going to start putting in some turquoise here. So notice how I'm doing these brushstrokes. Can you guys see that? So think of them like little diagonals. And you're not— notice what I'm not doing. This is what I call the art of not blending. I'm not doing this and just constantly blending everything together until it's one big blended area. You can if you want to, but that's not what I'm doing right now. We're doing separate brushstrokes that we want to stand out and overlap each other. We're filling in all of that blank space. We don't want any of the canvas to show through. Okay, so what I'm doing with my hand is almost think of it like an X. I keep just making these little brush strokes, so they're going this direction, they're going that direction. Uh-oh, did I lose you for a second? Are we good? It was glitching for just a minute, so I want to make sure we're good before I continue. Okay, it's looking good from my angle. So I really want you to see how I'm making those brushstrokes, and they're just several little diagonal— some can be straight up and down if you want. They're going all different directions and they're overlapping. Now for this winter sky, I'm going to add in a little bit of white, and I'm doing this quickly because I do want these colors to blend a little bit. I want them to overlap and pick up some of the color that's underneath, but I don't want them to completely be blended together into one big blob of color. So I'm just going to continue down a little bit further. See, when you mix that white in, you get a whole new color of blue. So we did blue and white and a little turquoise in this first section. I think that's about good because I know I'm going to add a snowy little hill here. Now let's jump over to our spring and summer, kind of share the same sky, and you don't have to have a definite line where these break up. Hey, Chris, she's here loving new things. Hey, Sheila, just joining in from Oregon. So I'm doing more of the turquoise again, making sure I'm close to the ground there. Isn't this just a fun technique? It's really relaxing. You're just filling the canvas with all these different brushstrokes. I'm going to grab a little bit of like my lime color, maybe mix some of that in. A little more turquoise over here, be a little white with it. So the more variation you have in there, the more interesting it's going to be to look at. We even had a little bit of pink over here. Here, that spring one kind of just peeking through to kind of get an idea. Mary said I have to practice speed when I'm doing this. Yeah, you do want to keep moving at a quick pace so that your paints can somewhat blend while you're doing it. So I'm going to hold that up just a little bit closer so you can see what those brushstrokes look like. Nice and messy. We want to kind of get away— I really talk a lot in the Tribe about stopping that perfectionism, that Type A in your head. I want to help you overcome your fear in painting, whatever is stopping you from painting. I want to help get you past that. And so we talk a lot about mindset and being positive and being kind to yourself when you're learning something new as well. And that making mistakes is absolutely necessary. Not only is it necessary, it's good for you because that's how we learn. So we like mistakes, we like growing. This is not about being perfect. This is not about being a great artist. I have literally taught thousands of women over the last 9 years how to paint, and I would say 95% of them have never painted before. So if that is you, you are in good company. You don't have to have it all figured out. My goal is to help you uncover that creative side that you may not even know that you have, because I feel like God gave us all a gift of creativity because we are created in his image and he's the original creator, right? So my job is to help bring that out of you and help you overcome those obstacles that might be stopping you from exploring art and having some fun with it. That's my goal. I want this to be fun. I want it to be carefree. This is not serious painting. It's fun painting, and I want you to learn to let loose, and I want to push you out of your comfort zone and help you learn new things that you would have never thought you could do. And there are so many Tribe Sisters here in the comments who can tell you just that. Most of them started not knowing anything, and they can't even believe what they're doing now. Some have even started teaching their own paint parties, which you have permission to do at local paint nights. You can take any of the paintings inside my tribe and you can teach local classes with them, um, and you're not having to come up with all the ideas. I taught local classes for 7 years and constantly was having to come up with my own content. So as a tribe sister, you don't even have to worry about that. You can use the ideas that I'm giving you so that you can teach people that in your hometown. You are not allowed to teach online or sell kits with any of my designs, but you can teach in your, your local area. Isn't that warm color so pretty? I love the division here. And you can also— any of the original art that you create from my tutorials, you can sell in craft booths. You can sell on Etsy, you can sell at craft shows. So any of that kind of stuff too. So you can easily pay for your membership every month with selling a few paintings. Hey, Miss Linda, thank you for sharing. Sheila said, I battle anxiety and painting is a way I calm myself and serving more. Absolutely. So I have struggled with anxiety and depression most of my life, probably since I was about 14. I've been an artist my whole life as well, and for me, that is something that— painting is very healing and therapeutic for me, and I know it is for so many. We grew immensely over this past year and a half since COVID hit, one, because people are at home more, but two, because it has allowed people to kind of escape the negativity of this world and just come to a happy place. And, um, that's my goal. I want every time that you come to the Tribe Sister Facebook group that you feel uplifted and encouragement and you leave better than when you came. Um, and I know that's what you get inside of that group. I'm going to glance back here at my original. I can't remember if I added any red in the background. I don't think I did. I think I just did some yellow and orange here. Now where these meet, I'll probably end up having a tree kind of intersect those. I may pull a little bit of green over here because we've got those summer trees that are going to end up going here too. So I think I like that middle section. You're going to hear me say it all the time, you got to trust the process. Right now you may be looking at this and thinking this is a hot mess and there's no way it's going to turn out like that painting behind her, but it will, I promise. Susan said, I hope this will be on and can go back. Yes, you can catch this replay anytime, so it'll stay on Facebook and it's also going to be on YouTube. And in case you guys didn't know, we're doing a little giveaway if you didn't see it in the comments. So Vicki Allman is our first winner of some happy mail from me. Um, so Vicki, we need you to send your, um, address to our customer service email so I can get that happy mail sent out to you. So as we're going along, if you want to get entered in to win some happy mail from me tonight, make sure you're talking in the comments. You can say you've shared this video with your friends, whatever you want to do, get in the comments there because Megan's going to randomly pick some ladies to be some happy mail recipients today. Yay, Vicki's still on here. Awesome. Congratulations. Pam said, is this the section around the bare tree trunks? Yeah. So Pam, this is the middle section of that painting. Behind me here, that whole background sky section. And then the next thing that we're getting ready to do is our ground. Thank you so much, Leslie. So you're going to hear me say this a lot, and this is kind of like our motto for TRIBE, is to trust the process. Leslie has been a long-time TRIBE sister. Um, she said, you've helped me relax and not worry about being messy and just trust process. And that is my goal for you guys. I really want to get you over those hurdles and just get you having fun, um, trying new things, not worrying about the end product, but like enjoying the process, enjoying the time to be creative and just learning and trying something new. And honestly, just playing with paint. I like to think of it like I go back to being like a little kid when I was a little girl, and paint was just all I cared about. Um, and I loved playing with it, and I loved painting with my mom, who was also an artist. So like, come into it with that childlike joy. My hope is to spread joy through painting with all of you. Thank you, Tammy, for sharing. Barbara said it looks like it's horizontal, but the original looks like it's going upwards. I'm not sure. This is a horizontal canvas. Is that what you're asking? Alright, I'm going to pull this over. While I do this so I'm not trying to look at it behind me, just so I have it. I've got so much— I got so many things over here, but we're going to try to prop it up so I can see. I have to put my wine in a safe spot so I don't stick my paintbrushes in it. Has anyone done that? I have. I've stuck them in my wine, I've stuck them in my coffee. So I'm going to prop this up against my paint here, and hopefully it's going to hold. Use this as a little, little reference for myself. So, um, I am rinsing my angled brush that I was using. Make sure when you're doing this you are wiping water off on the side of your cup before you go to your paper towel, because otherwise you're just soaking up your paper towels and you're going to be wasting them and go through a ton of them. When you are doing this, doesn't matter what color you had in your brush, doesn't matter how dirty your watercolor is. You do not need to get up and change it out every time you use a different color. The tip is rinse, wipe off on the side, and then take a paper towel and you're going to squeeze like you're reshaping your brush. Ignore this little flare out here. And that way you can guarantee there's no previous color from whatever that paint was in your brush going into your new color. Hey, Teresa, we see you in the comments. Are you trying to post many times? Coffee paint. Maureen said, I've ruined several cups of tea doing that. Cynthia said, is this hard to paint and comment? It is hard to paint and comment. And listen, this is actually my advice for inside my tribe, inside my workshop, Painting of the Month Club, any of the things, whenever I'm teaching you guys, my actual, um, recommendation is that you watch me first and hang out, and then go back and paint on your own time when you can watch the replay. So you can stop it, rewind it, you're not worrying about keeping up with me because I paint fast. You don't have to paint as fast as me. Um, you have access to these tutorials anytime you want to go back, and that way you're not feeling that pressure and you can really just relax and listen to all the instruction I'm giving. So what I have found is when people are not doing that and are trying to keep up with the steps, they're not really hearing everything that I'm telling them to do, and then they're getting confused and they're getting frazzled and it's no longer fun, right? So we want this to be fun for you. Um, so I would actually recommend you kind of hang out if you want to, you know, like kind of doodle paint, like have a little mixed media pad, practice some of these brushstrokes and some of the things I'm teaching you while we're live. I think that's awesome. If you can keep up, that's awesome too. But I really think you absorb the information best if you watch first. Barbara said, can you bring your mom on? My mom is the opposite of me and would never want to be on a Facebook Live ever. I've actually asked her before. It makes her incredibly uncomfortable. Um, she is very shy and, um, she makes beautiful cards. Um, I'll share her site with you guys if you want to look her up. She does handmade cards now. Um, but she is the one that got me painting, and my grandpa was also an artist here. All right, so we're gonna do some hills, right? I'm gonna get a little bit of turquoise here, and I have this big hill in the back. I'm going to kind of pull that down. So just kind of loading up my brush. You don't have to have a ton, just making a little bit of a slope, kind of fill that in. And you may be wondering why I'm going to take— let's see if I can take my name off here. I don't know if I can or not because that's covering the bottom of where I'm showing you. I don't know if I can do that. I wonder if I can change the way it's on there. That's better. Let me scoot this back just a little. Okay. Okay, Kimberly said definitely watch first, it really makes a difference. I think so too. Does that help? You guys can a little bit better see what I'm doing. I'm going to grab a little bit of the darker blue just so you can see. So all I'm doing is coming up just like a little a little hill. Okay, and we're going to let it slope down, and then I'm going to have another one come in front of that one. Now I've got white in my brush. We're going to get some more blue and teal back here. Let's make this hill in the back a little darker first. It'll all make sense, I promise. Fill this in. And here's the other thing to keep in mind if you are new to acrylic painting. This is why I love acrylics, because anything that you mess up doesn't matter. You can go back and fix it. So if you stress out over something and you're like, oh my gosh, I just ruined the painting, don't stress over it. Don't try to fix it while it's wet. Just let it dry and you can paint over anything. Okay, so now I'm going to go pull some of this white back over this back hill so you can see that a little bit more. Just kind of swoop it down here. Add a little bit more white in. Now we're going to want to do this in layers. So again, right now you're not seeing— it's mixing with the blue. That's okay. We're going to do this in layers. So we're going to get this first layer down. We're going to let it dry, which is why you want to do nice thin coats. You don't want to get it super gloppy and wet. And then it's going to dry faster, and then we can go back and put our second coat on, which is going to be the white. We want that blue color behind our snowy mountain hills right now. So we've got two hills there. Try to brighten that up so you guys can see that just a little bit more. Okay, then I have one kind of bumps up over here right at the transition between the seasons. And now I'm going to switch and we're going to move to our spring colors. I'm just going to go ahead and leave this in here because it doesn't really matter. It's white and a couple blues, so I'm just going to go into this darker green really loaded up. You probably won't even be able to see that I have those colors in there. And we're going to come just about right here, and we're going to make another little hill, swoop that out. So everything we're doing right now is base colors. This is not what it's going to look like at the end. We kind of joke inside Tribe that sometimes your painting just has to be ugly before it gets pretty. So You have to trust the process. You have to get used to knowing there's going to be more to it. It's not going to look like this at the end. Okay, so we've got our first little hill here, and then I'm going to grab a little bit of lime green with that, and I'm going to come over. Now watch what I do here. I want it to kind of flow smoothly here. I'll come over just a little bit more. And it kind of swoops down, and it's going to go all the way over to our fall. But you know, that went over my front hill, and we don't want that. So I'm just going to pull some dark green over the front here, and we will be adding more colors to it, but that way you can kind of see more of the difference there. So really quickly, I'm just going to go ahead and fill in this little bit of sky. I'm using a different brush because it doesn't really matter. I'm just going to put some blue in there, a little bit of pink. I think that'll be a pretty transition. So even if you don't have an angled brush, you see me doing this with a big fat round. Now it doesn't really matter. You can do lots of different types of brushes. You can use a flat, especially on this background area where it's really, really not going to show very much. Let's grab a little bit more. I should have come down a little further here. Okay, I think that'll be good. Um, Barbara said, did you set up the color wheel a certain way? I did put my colors in kind of the form of a color wheel to keep my warms together and my cools together. Yeah, some of these are older paints that I'm using. They do spread easily, and if you don't know If you put your paint on a palette like this, do not ever hold it while you're painting, because what happens is, what do we do? We're not paying attention, and we tilt our plate, and then what? All your colors start running together, and it makes a big old mess. So try as hard as you can to just set it aside, pick it up when you need it, and then come back to it again. So all your colors are not blending together. No, Barbara, we are not using palette knives tonight. Not all my paintings have palette knives. Knives. So I do— I'm glad you brought that up, though. I do teach a lot of different styles. I teach acrylic painting with brush. I teach palette knife, where we can add texture and do really thick paint like we just did in our funky winter flowers. And I also do some mixed media pieces where we take stamps and ink and scrapbook paper, tissue paper, napkins, and all of that stuff, and we combine that into some of our art as well. So you're going to learn a variety of different types of things in Tribe. Missed someone's question. Jamie said, please review what is included in the Tribe membership. Yes, I will. So the Inner Tribe is my VIP membership. It's open tonight. That's why we're here doing the PJ Paint Party. It is $47 a month or $470 for a year, which gives you 2 months for free. And inside the Tribe, when you join, you get immediate access to over 135 tutorials that are included in your membership hub. So that is just right off the bat, you have access to all of that as soon as you log in. You can scroll the last 3 and a half years of tutorials. It's kind of like Netflix for painting. Okay. And then each month inside our private Facebook group, we host Tribe in two places: the membership website for all past tutorials, and then our Facebook group is where the community is, where all the ladies are. That is where I teach live. Just like this, and I teach you 3 new paintings every single month, and then you also have a guest artist or business speaker. Um, in addition to that, I do a few devotionals a month. We have some Tribe Sister Zoom calls, so you can get to know some of your other community. Um, it does include the Painting of the Month membership, so you don't have to pay for that separately. Um, I think that's the quick overview of it. Um, there's your prices. Let me know if I forgot anything, team. Um, I think I gave the, uh, the quick overview. Sheila said I decoupage song hymns on the large wooden crosses. Yeah, that's— that sounds really pretty. It would be beautiful on a cross. All right. Oh, we've got another giveaway coming up. All right, if you guys want to be entered into the giveaway to get some happy mail, make sure you're commenting. Um, you can also just share this video and let us know you shared it. That'll put you into the entry for some happy mail from me. I haven't even mentioned, by the way, because this is the first night that Tribe is open— I'm just picking up a little bit of yellow here and throwing it into this back hill to brighten that up a little. Um, there are also early bird specials that I totally forgot to tell you about. So if you join Tribe tonight, you get 6 bonus tutorials that are not included, um, that are valued at over $200, and you get those automatically when you join tonight. You have to join in the first 24 hours to get those early bird bonus videos. When you go to the link to read all about Tribe, you're going to see what 6 tutorials those are, but there's some of our favorites. I handpicked them because they're some of our most popular ones that I know ladies are not going to want to miss out on when they become a part of the membership. Jean said, how does the Painting of the Month work? Okay, so Jean, the Painting of the Month is just one pre-recorded video. You don't get me live, you don't get a Facebook group or anything like that. It's pre-recorded, most of the time taken from Tribe or previous workshops, and it's delivered to your membership website on the first of each month. So that membership is $20 a month and Tribe is $47 a month. and you get 3 paintings per month plus the entire library of over 135 tutorials. Um, Leslie said, how does one join? We have the links in the comments and also in the description up above. Um, Tammy said, is Tribe only open tonight? No. So we— this is our first night opening. You have 24 hours to join to get those 6 bonus tutorials for our early bird. Um, at tomorrow at 7, that will be over. Okay, so that ends at 7 PM tomorrow night, but TRIBE will still be open for you to become a member until Friday. So you have until Friday to join before we close doors again. Thank you, Julie. I tried to make TRIBE the best experience possible. You guys get all the bonuses. All the extras. They have been loaded up with bonuses this month, so everything that I offer the public, you Tribe Sisters automatically get it, and it's going to your library as well. Mary, we have just about 2,000 members in the Inner Tribe right now, and it is just a wonderful group. You're going to get nothing but love and encouragement in there. Um, Cindy said, are you doing in-person classes? I do not. I don't teach in person at all anymore. I only teach online. Um, Eloise said, there is no way for me to take my name off here. Unfortunately, I can't remove that. I tried to make it as small as possible, which is why I scooted the board up, so you're only missing a tiny little fraction of the bottom of that canvas. Um, Kim said, I'm in Painting of the Month Club right now. If I were to sign up to Tribe, who cancels that for me, me or you? Kim, we have it set up where it automatically cancels for you. So when you become a Tribe sister, it'll cancel your Painting of the Month Club membership, and then you can just email customer service at christie@thesocialeasel.com and just make sure it went through if you want that extra verification. Yes, there is yellow all the way to the right. So that is the very edge of the canvas right there. Donna said, I joined, um, on day 2 of the winter flowers. Do I get the bonus? Of course, Donna, you get it all. So anyone who's joined prior to this week in the workshop, or if you were a Tribe Sister before that, you get all the bonuses that I'm doing. Helen said, can I switch from monthly to yearly? Yes, you can just email customer service and they can switch that over for you. It will start from your next, like, payment month, so you pay $4.70 from that next month and then get your 2 months for free extended onto that. Thank you, Kay, for sharing. Um, Twyla, they are in your library, so when you log in tribesister.com, you have your library before you go to the actual Tribe Vault. That's where all your bonus videos are going to be. And if you're not sure what I'm talking about, we have a brand new welcome guide that is going to walk you through each step of that and explains everything to you. You got it in your welcome email and we also have it in the Tribe Sister group. Hey Connie, thank you for sharing. Okay. Sorry, I'm trying to keep up with all the questions. Um, Nancy, yes, the Inner Tribe is $47 a month, or you can do $470 for the year if you want to commit to a full year. Sandy, yes, you'll be able to go back to this video after tonight and watch replays. It's going to be on Facebook and YouTube. Thank you, Peggy. Said, I'm so glad I was able to get this live tonight and join kicking back and watching. Tribe is so worth it. So much I want to paint. And listen, we have people say this all the time too. There's no way I can keep up. I can't paint that many paintings in a month. You don't have to. There's not one person— there's not one person besides me in Tribe who has painted every single painting in Tribe. So this is not about you keeping up with everyone. You get to take this at your own pace and do as much or as little as you want to. The value is that you have access to everything, and you can just go do it whenever you want. So you can either pick what I'm teaching live in the Facebook group each month, or you may really love some of my Christmas tutorials from the last 3 years, and you want to go back and do those. When you scroll our Tribe Sister Facebook group, you're going to see paintings from all, all 3 and a half years, um, and everything in between. All right, so I will, I will still answer questions, but I want to go ahead and throw this next section down. This is going to be our summer. I'm just in the regular green again. We're going to pull this up a little bit. Okay, kind of match it up here. Again, this is going to look pretty rough in the beginning. Just solid green. Now watch what I'm going to do to tone this down and make it a darker green. I'm going to grab a little bit of my red. Okay, because these are opposites on the color wheel, when I mix them together, it's going to tone it down and make a darker green. And this is the kind of stuff I teach you in Tribe. I teach you color mixing. I teach you how to shade and highlight and add value and all that kind of stuff. Stuff. So it's not just each individual lesson, but you're learning all those techniques along the way. So look how much darker that green is. And I'm going to make this kind of messy because we're going to add some poppies over top of that. I think I pulled that over way too much. Let's go back. See, this is the whole, like, you can't really mess up. It's fun. I got a little overzealous with my green. The other thing we can do is make— I think I had fall a little bit shorter in my original. All right, we're going to go back and change this. This is a great example for me to show you that if you do something you don't want to do on your painting, that you can go back and fix it. Mary said, does Tribe still meet occasionally? I have not done any meetups since COVID happened. I do have plans to get something together for 2022, but nothing is concrete yet. But yes, we're hoping to be able to do that again. We just started a thread inside the group for everyone to put where they're from so that you can find Tribe sisters in or around your community or city or state so you guys can do little mini meetups as well. Tracy said, I thought when I just drank— I almost drank my paint water, by the way. She said, I thought when you joined Tribe you have access to the library, but then she says you get 6 bonus paintings. Wouldn't the 6 bonus paintings be a part of the library? No, not every single thing I've ever painted since I've been painting online is included in Tribe. So all of the previous Painting of the Month Club paintings, those are not automatically included when you become a new Tribe Sister. When you are a Tribe Sister, you get them each month, but when you join, you don't automatically get the whole last year and a half. So those are some of the bonuses that you would be getting. Also some workshops that I've done, um, like the Funky Fall Flowers, um, Fall Chapel. Those are just to name a few. Um, we have kids' paintings that I included this time, which really aren't just for kids, but it's the Fall Out and the Christmas reindeer. So those are all new. They're not included in the Tribe Library, so they are bonuses for you as well. Lisa said, are all your classes during the day? They are, Lisa. I've got 3 kids, 18, 14, and 10, and we are a very busy family. So in order to spend as much time with— I, uh, much time as I can with them as a mom, I teach during the day inside my tribe so that I can be a mom at night and go to their volleyball games, cook them dinner, all the things. So, um, but again, you don't have to be there live. Um, you can go back and watch the replays whenever you want. Twyla, you'll go to tribesister.com. If you guys have any questions about if you are a current Tribe Sister and you're still not sure where to find things, please go to guide number 1 inside the Tribe Sister Facebook group and All the information is going to be there for you. It's going to tell you everything you need to know. Um, Nancy, we've got the link up above for you to join. Are you asking about Painting of the Month Club? That doesn't open till the 15th, so you'll have to hang tight on that. We release the new Painting of the Month Club on the 15th of every month. Ellen, you will love it if you join. I promise you, you won't regret it. Okay, we did have a new winner. I'm a little bit behind on this because I was painting. Um, congrats to Susan Brown! You also just won some happy mail from me that'll be coming to you next week, and we'll be giving out a few more while we're here. Um, Sherry said, what other time of year do you open Tribe? Usually spring and fall. So we won't open the doors again until spring. Thank you, Toby. I am so glad. Love you too. Leslie said, how do you use the template? Um, Leslie, you need graphite paper and you put that down and then you just trace the template over top of it. If You are still not sure how to do that. If you go to the Social Easel YouTube channel, I have a free YouTube, um, video that shows you exactly how to use transfer paper. Okay, Kim said if I joined and paid $470 Um, no, Kim, if you join for $470, that means you get 2 months for free, so that's 10 months. You're only paying for 10 months out of 12, so that's the $470. I think that's— is that answering your question? Maybe I'm getting the math wrong, Kim. Now I'm second-guessing myself. Hold on, let's figure it out. Oh, I hate these old— I don't know where anything is on here. Maybe one of my team members can answer that for you. Can someone please do the math and put that in the comments? Welcome, Anne! I'm so glad you just signed up and became a tribe sister. Um, Kate said, will the Christmas reindeer end up in the vault? So Kate, there's two different things. There's the library— it's all in the same space, like it's all on your membership website, but there's a library where all bonuses are, just like your Painting of the Month Club paintings. And then there's the vault. The vault is actually what I teach live inside the Facebook group. That's what the vault is. The extra things are separated from your vault because you get them as a current Tribe Sister. That stuff is not grandfathered in for people that join a year from now, 2 years from now. All right, Cam, yeah, I think you're right. $470 divided by— I see what you're saying now. Yep, that's $39. Welcome, Nancy! So glad you just joined us. Shanna just signed up on Friday. Thank you so much. Here. All right, I think we figured out the math on that. Okay, I'm gonna go back. I'm trying to make sure I answer your questions, but I don't want to keep you on here until 1 o'clock in the morning either. So we're going to go back and I'm going to cover up the sky. So I want you to even see that right there. Not a big deal. Doesn't matter that it was orange before. I'm going to come back with some white and some blue. White is really good at covering things up if you do something you don't want to do. Kind of like a base coat, and then I can go back and put my teal over top of it. It's like I just didn't even leave enough of the sky for our summer trees. All right, and there we go. And then all of a sudden it doesn't become a big deal that we didn't have that correct earlier, right? Now I can kind of straighten that back out. And now I'm going to go in to my red. We're going to kind of pull this, this way. We're going to add some orange to this too. Let's get loaded up. Don't be afraid of your paint. Paint is your friend. A lot of times when people are having problems with their paintings, it is because they do not put enough paint in their brush. And we're just going to let those meet just like that because I'm probably going to put a tree trunk there and that won't matter. I'm going to pull this up just a tiny bit more, just so you're absolutely sure you can see both sides of the canvas. If I can get this straight. Come on, so crooked. Okay, you see the edges on both sides now. Stacy said, once you join, are you a member for life? No, you are either a monthly member or a yearly member. So if you join monthly, you can cancel at any time, but you cannot rejoin until we open the doors back up to new members. If you join yearly Um, that $470 will come out the next year as well, unless you cancel or change to monthly before that. So you have two options. Oh, Sherry, I love this. I'm going to share this up here. She said, I use my monthly painting membership as a resource for teaching my homeschool co-op kids. Oh, that's awesome. I'm so happy to hear that. That's really cool. Awesome. Welcome. David said, just joined Tribe, have been a member of the Painting and Mutt Club, excited to be able to paint more. We are excited to have you. Awesome. Pam, welcome back. She said, I have been a Tribe sister and just joined again. I find that I paint more as part of this group. And that's what I find too. It makes it a lot easier to stick with it when you have that encouragement and, um, that group of ladies to cheer you on. Okay, so we've got our base down, right? I'm gonna go ahead, we're gonna start going back for our second coat on everything. So again, I'm rinsing really good, drying my paintbrush in between so I'm not mixing that color. And we're going to go back over here, I'm going to put in a little bit more turquoise on this hill, and then we're going to add some snow over top. So I'm still using my angled brush But see what a difference that makes by letting that dry first. You can still let some of the blue show through here. And then we're going to take this second hill. I need a little bit more blue there. We want there to be enough of a difference that it separates. So see, we've got more white at the top and then it goes to a little bit of teal. Just going to wipe that off and grab a whole bunch of white. Okay, and then on the second hill, pull that over top. Then you can just kind of wipe your excess brush that down there. I like to leave a little bit of the blue showing. I'm going to move this so you guys can see that because my name's covering it up. So you can kind of see— oh, now I'm making it worse. See how we've got those different, different hills, a little bit of separation there. And then if you want, you can add another one back here. It's up to you. You can make as many little snowy hills as you want. Maybe add a little bit more. I think I'm liking that. Kathy said we definitely paint more with the group, or she definitely paints more with the group. Challenges give more incentive. Yeah, I'm glad you brought up the challenges. So I do challenges and giveaways and all that kind of stuff inside Tribe all the time to keep it fun, to keep you motivated, um, because I know how I am and I love a good challenge, and it forces me to do that. Um, so we love doing challenges inside the tribe as well. Okay, now we're going to go to our hill here. I'm going to switch to a round, just like that, and I'm going to start in the back first. So I already added A little more of like yellow green here. Let's pull a little bit more of that in, a little bit more of the lime green, kind of overlap that red. So this was the darker green hill. I'm gonna go— I did a little lime green. I'm gonna go with darker green again, and then again I can pull that. Let's get a little of that dark, even darker green that I pre-mixed, pull some of that in. And I'm going to rinse this. Um, Tracy said, I'm painting of the month club member and I'm trying to join and pay the full amount, but it's only offering a monthly payment. Tracy, go back to the actual sales page. You probably just clicked the monthly button. There's two buttons on the page and one says monthly and one says yearly, and they take you to different checkout pages. Oh, thank you, Elizabeth. We are so glad to have you painting with us. Okay, so can you start seeing how this is going to start coming together, how the ground already looks a lot different? So let's throw in a little bit of purple, and I'm lightly dragging this, so plenty paint, but I'm just kind of lightly dragging it over there. I'm going to wipe that off. I don't feel like I need to rinse it. I'm just going to go ahead and wipe it. I'm going to grab some of the hot pink and some of that in, because this is going to be like our spring tree colors here. Now, if you prefer, if you are worried your colors are going to get all muddled and muddy here, You can let this dry first before you do this. I'm just going to go ahead and jump in and do it. And then I'm going to take some of that pink and white together and make like a baby pink. And I've got just a little yellow peeking in there too, so we'll just grab a couple little touches of yellow and it just changes it up a little. I'm gonna flip this around. So I know it's upside down, but I just want you to see the difference. And then all the colors that we have in the hillside there. And keep in mind when you're painting that what you're looking at this close to your canvas is not what you're going to see when you hang it on the wall. So you always kind of want to take a step back and look at it from further away. I recommend taking pictures of your work all the time and try, because it helps you see what you want to fix and what you're happy with. So I'm going to take some of my red. We're going to add poppies in this summer section. I'm going to take some of my red and some of that dark green because I want to do a couple levels of this, and I'm just going to start dabbing my round brush on here. Can have some bigger blobs. These are just blobs, nothing fancy. We're going to leave some of that green showing. We're just going to keep on transitioning that right over into our fall trees. Let's make it a little bumpy on the backside hill here so it looks like little flowers sticking up. And then I'm actually going to leave the ground on the fall right now. We don't need to do anything with that. Here's some people outside. Okay, so we've got our ground and our sky, and now comes the fun part of adding all the trees. I'm going to do a little bit of a quick cheat here, just in case we have any leaves that don't cover our sky and we don't want that white showing through. I'm gonna grab— I think I need to get a bigger brush here. I'm just gonna get a large flat, load up some blue and white on my brush, and we are just gonna really quickly fill this in. This is just in case we have any breaks in the leaves. We'll have a little blue back there. I'm gonna get a little bit more of the turquoise for mine. Sheila said, could you add a bit of pink and purple to make the winter scene look like the sun is setting in the snow, or mixed art? You can do whatever you want, Sheila. It is your painting. Yes, you have pictures as references. Anytime we have any painting, you have a reference photo that you can print off and go off of. Kate, you are still watching the video live right now, so you can go back after this if you want to see it from the beginning. Once it's over, it'll be on YouTube and Facebook. Got a little bit of a— it's what I call a dried paint boogie on there. Um, yes, I do paint the edges if I'm not going to frame it. You can paint them whatever you want. Sometimes I do, um, black and white checkered if I'm doing something a little bit more modern and funky. Sometimes I just carry like whatever I'm painting on the front, I just carry over to the side. And this is also just fun and relaxing, by the way, just filling it in. Now we're going to stop here. I'm going to rinse and I'm going to put some Warm Sky behind that. Now on these, I'm just blending it together because this part doesn't matter. No one's actually going to see these colors back here. It's just if a little bit breaks through. Look how crazy that painting looks right now. It's just if a little bit breaks through, um, in your leaves. All right, it's giveaway time. Remember, you get entered in the giveaways by leaving us some comments, letting us know you shared the video. Yes, Beth, I do use mediums in my paints in certain paintings that I do. All right, I'm grabbing my round brush because we're going to start doing the trees, which also means I need some black. Don't really want to put black on— I'm gonna grab an old palette just because I don't want it to mix with my colors. So I just used black for the trees. Got some dried paint here, hang on. If you wanted to, you could add some browns in there too. This is just how I chose to do this one. Hey Linda, welcome! Okay, this is one of my favorite parts, is when we start adding the trees on. I'm gonna have to move some things over so I can get to my paint palette. A little bit easier. Pull this back over here for my reference. Getting all the things situated. Congrats, Leslie, you just won some happy mail. Okay, so I'm just going with kind of like a mid-sized round. This is a number 7. You can definitely use skinnier if you tend to be heavy-handed. You can use a skinnier round brush. So I'm going to start left and go right, so I'm not dragging my hand across the painting. So I've got about 3 trees actually in winter. Our first one is going to come over on the edge here, and I'm just going to do a straight line up just like that. I'm going to make it just a tiny bit wider at the base, not a lot, and I'm just— plenty of paint in there— and just pulling it straight up. And then when I get up here, I'm going to start pulling some branches off of it. See how I'm just kind of dragging my brush, and notice the shapes that I'm making with every branch that pulls off. It kind of makes the letter V or Y, depending on how you look at it. And you could get really intricate there with a whole bunch of branches. But we're going to cover most of them up with the leaves, so I'm leaving it. And yes, I know most trees don't have leaves in the winter, but in my painting they do. So you can leave them bare if you want to. And then we've got another one coming up right here, and it's coming from this little second hill that we created. So I'm just going to put like a base there. When you are painting trees, if you're not doing this from the template, My recommendation for you is start with one brush stroke, okay? So just like this, pull it straight up, okay? And then don't jump over here and say that's where I want my other side. The best way to do it is just continue to go back and forth until you get the thickness that you want so you don't end up with a super wide, huge tree. And then we're gonna have this kind of branch off. These are a little bit bigger branches at the base, and then they get a little skinnier. I'm just going to grab a few. Every tree is going to be different, okay? So they don't have to be any certain way, but I think I like the way that looks. Just those two trees, isn't that cool how different it looks? Um, Barbara said, um, if you make a mistake with tree drawings, can you use white paint to cover and do over? So don't do anything while it's wet. If you make a mistake, leave it. Let it dry completely, paint over, and then you can paint your tree back over top of it. You would be able to just paint that. Like, if I let this dry completely, I would just paint that background again and then do my tree over again. Um, Cheryl, you can use the template over the dry— you would have to let the paint dry completely before you put the template on. I personally don't think you need a template for this. I think you guys can do this. It just takes a little practice. But here's what I want you to think about when you're doing trees. Don't tell yourself you're doing trees. Tell yourself you're making a vertical line, because then it takes that out of your brain. Sometimes we have to break things down into shapes when we're drawing, when we're creating. So if you just tell yourself you're making a vertical line, that's what your brain is going to do. If you tell yourself you're making a tree, it gets all crazy and it starts overthinking things. So don't overthink it. Just make a vertical line and then make some diagonal lines that come off of it that create the shape of the letter V in between those. Um, Teresa, I am using a 7, but I would recommend you use whatever you're comfortable with because, um, it depends on how heavy-handed you are, how hard you push down. Helen said, do you think the quality of the brush makes a difference? Yes, absolutely. If you get really cheap brushes, you're not going to be happy. And the ones that I have in my Amazon store, they're not like super expensive at all. Like, I mean, you can get a set between— I don't know, I think anywhere from $9 to— I think the highest priced set we have in the store is like $20, $25 for a set. So it's not bad at all. So we're going to jump over here and do another little tree. Let's pull this one down a little bit more. Just pull it up. I'm going to kind of taper this one. I want it a little skinnier. And you're going to see me not focus as much on the branches on some of these. Awesome. Mary said, I just joined Inner Tribe, a gift from me to me, and I deserve it. I love that. That's so awesome. We all deserve to take a little time for ourselves, especially if it helps us, especially if it calms us down. That just means we're going to be a better wife, a better mom, a better grandma. Whatever it is, it's going to help us not have all that built-up tension, right? Barbara said it's the left brain controlling the right brain. Yeah, something like that. Yeah. Okay, and then I have one more kind of right here. I'm gonna let this kind of be my transition right where the colors start to change. Now don't worry about the base of these right now. We'll probably come back and add some snow over top of them, but we don't want to do that while the trunks are wet because then we're just going to have gray snow. Yes, Toby, painting trees upside down does make it better, especially if you're working on perspective. I've taught a painting where we're painting on a road that goes in, it definitely helps to turn it upside down. All right, let's add our big one here for the spring. It's going to be at the top of this hill. This is going to be a little thicker. Isn't it fun to just watch it come to life? I love it. So you want to have some variation in your trees. We don't want them to all be the same size. It's going to be more interesting to your eye when you're looking at this to see a bunch of different sizes. Then we've got one right over here, right at the transition line for the spring and summer. You also want to have— notice that I have varying space in between in between my trees. So those are all just things to think about when you're thinking about your composition. When you go back and look at it, if something starts to look too patterned, you know you need to break it up, and that right perfectionist side of your brain is trying to take over. So make sure your spacing is not the same on all of these. Then we got a big fat one here again. I like the big ones. They're going to be closer to the bottom of the canvas, which means they're closer to us. All these different sizes are going to help your painting have perspective too. Um, one, by placement. The closer something is placed at the bottom of the canvas, the closer it feels to us, but also by size. The smaller the trees get, the further back they look. So we're using two different ways to show perspective here. Um, this is just black. So when I teach inside of Tribe, you will not have a side-by-side with me, so I'll show you what it's going to look like when you're in Tribe. It's going to look like this. Well, this is like on my— this is not the normal table I teach on, so you're going to get a full overhead view without the distraction of me on the side. So we can leave it like this for a while if you guys want to get a little bit fuller view of what I'm doing here. And again, pay attention to my placement of my trees. None of them are all lined up, okay? So they're all starting at different spots. So I'm just loading— I want to make sure I have plenty of paint in there, loading it up and just pulling it. If you can stay in one motion while you're doing this, you're going to have nice smooth lines. Let's have one really close here just to give a little separation between our seasons. And don't forget, your trees don't have to be perfectly straight either. There's all kinds of wonky trees out there. Let's see, I've got one big one over here. I'm gonna do my big one first and decide what I want to put on the side. I love that transition of the sky up there too, where you see that little bit of green coming through. Yes, Barbara, the thicker ones are in the front, the thinner ones are in the back. So if you had a really thick one in the back, that would be one big, huge, massive tree, which is possible, but most of the time they're going to get smaller the further back they go. All right, I got all my trees on there. So we want to let this dry before we finish our leaves. So while I'm letting that dry, I'm going to add myself back to the screen. Do you guys have any questions for me regarding TRIBE? I'm gonna do a quick overview. Again, that was kind of like a snapshot of how I teach, where the full screen is the overview inside TRIBE. We are open right now. It's our first night to open since spring. We don't open again until next spring. To become a TRIBE sister, the price is either $47 a month or $470 for the year. That is a 1-year commitment. Um, so do not do the 1 year unless you are sure you want to paint with me for 1 full year. Um, so that is a 1-year commitment when you do that. If you join monthly for $47 a month, you can cancel at any time, but you cannot come back until we open doors again. Um, so that's kind of your price range. Um, Inside Tribe, what you get when you join immediately. When you join, you get access to our membership Vault, which has over 135 tutorials from the last 3 and a half years of me teaching inside Tribe. That's where all our past tutorials are stored. We have technique videos there, live Q&As. Um, you are going to get 6 bonus videos if you join in the first 24 hours tonight that will be added to your library. Um, and that is what you get immediately when you join, as well as becoming a member of our Tribe Sister community in our Facebook group. And the Facebook group is where all the things happen. This is where I teach you, um, I teach you 3 paintings per month. And then that's also where our guest artist, crafter, or business coach will come as well. So you get 4 things each month, 3 paintings from me, 1 from a guest, and those are all taught live in our Facebook group and of course available for replay. And then they go to your membership library after that. Um, and you also get, of course, the Tribe Sister Community. That's where you're going to share your artwork, um, and be encouraged and loved on in that community. I do a couple devotionals a month, so I do share my faith inside the group, and I try to encourage you guys to kind of push past your fear and trust the process and trust God and what he wants to bring out in you and your art and Last but not least, we are a joy-filled community. I feel like it is my purpose to bring you joy through painting, and we are a positive vibes only group, and I am strict on that. So if you come in and you tend to be a negative person, a negative Nelly, this group ain't for you because you will be removed. This is only for people who want to spread love, joy, kindness, and encourage those around them. That is what this group is all about. We do not allow any negativity, any rude comments, any kind of drama in the feed. If we see it, it is removed, and most likely so is that member. So I have created this group 3 and a half years ago, and that has been my one thing from the very beginning, is that I'm going to take care of my tribe. And yes, Leslie said mama bear. I am a mama bear. I'm going to take care of my girls. I want this to be a safe place for you to come, for you to create, for you to share, to not feel judged but to feel encouraged. And, um, that's, that's all I can say. So come in with a positive, happy vibe. You're going to agree to that when you join. When you join the Facebook group, it's going to ask you, do you promise, do you promise to be kind and joyful? Because there is no reason to bring drama into this group. And if you feel like spreading drama, you can go spread it somewhere else, um, because it's not happening inside my tribe. Um, Sandra said, I tried to join tribe but it wouldn't take my zip code. Sandra, if you're still having problems, sometimes we have people, uh, miss the zip code. You have to put it in at two different places. One, when it's just your information, and again with your credit card. We've had that happen before and people are just missing that second spot. If you're still having trouble, email Customer service, it's Christie at thesocialeasel.com, and they will get you taken care of. Um, does anyone have any questions? I'm gonna grab a drink of water really quick. And let me tell you, by the way, let me just show you what's coming up in case you haven't seen. How cute is he? Few weeks. So we've got our happy little snowman. I already forgot what I named him. I did. I think it's, um, it might be— what is going on here? I put it on do not disturb and it's still— it still disturbs. And then my little jolly old Saint Nick, and I'm teaching you some new techniques with this one. Look at this background on here. How cute is he? He makes me so happy. So these are, in addition to the Funky Winter Flowers, those are our November tutorials that you're going to get when you join Tribe. And then over the next few weeks, I'm creating December's tutorials as well, and then working on your plans for next year. So it's always 3 brand new paintings, um, and I try to stretch you and do something different with all the different ones. So I hope you guys are excited about those. Um, the snowman just makes me so incredibly happy. Actually, they both do. I just love Christmas time, and I'm ready to paint Christmas paintings. Um, we are going to do a little Jesus nativity. I can tell you that for December. That's going to be one of our first ones on burlap. Again, you'll get all the information when you're inside Tribe. Thank you, Kimberly. So glad that you enjoy the group. Um, Cheryl said, can we purchase individual tutorials? Not these. So the way that my business works is everything I do is for my tribe. Okay, so that's why, that's why I call it my VIP membership. That's where all my focus goes. Um, whenever I'm not teaching live and bringing people into tribe, my focus goes into keeping that community and giving them paintings each month. So that's where all my new paintings go to. Every once in a while I will do a workshop or something new outside of Tribe that the Tribe sisters also get. Um, and then after everything's been taught in Tribe, um, if I don't choose to make it a painting of the month tutorial, then it will eventually go in my Shopify store for $37. So that's how much my individual tutorials are. So that's kind of like the way things work. So if you see like any of my new paintings, those are always just for Tribe. Sisters. Um, Barbara said, are you doing mermaids? It's not on my list, Barbara, but you never know. I do have a kids mermaid if you want to do that one. Um, Sherry said, are these for paint party instructors or for personal use only? Good question. I'm going to pull that one up while I'm answering that. You can teach any of my paintings at local paint nights only. They cannot be taught online. You cannot sell kits with them. In addition to that, this is what I recommend. If you are a paint party instructor, I don't allow the use of my image, so you can't take my painting and advertise it for paint nights, because I feel like that's false advertising, and that's just my opinion. I know some people don't feel that way, but I painted that, not you. So what I would recommend is you paint your version of that, and that's what you use for marketing. That's what you use to advertise, because it's actually your painting, and you know you can teach them your painting exactly the way that you did it. So, um, that's kind of my rule on that. But we have lots of women inside the group who do teach paint parties, so you can definitely do that as long as they are local. Um, Susan says said, how long do you have access to the 130+ video tutorials when you join for $470? So when you join for $470, you're paying for a year, so you would have access for a year. Um, and then when— if you choose to cancel at the end of that year, you lose access to all of those. Um, you can renew for another year. We send out emails a month prior to your renewal date to remind you that it's going to come out again unless you want to cancel it or change it to month monthly, so you have that option at the end of your year. Um, Barbara, you can sell your paintings for whatever you want to. I don't stipulate what your prices are. Okay, I'm going to do a quick blow dry here. We're almost dry, but not quite. If you guys have any other questions, keep putting them in the comments and we'll answer them. Are you ready to see it come back together? We're down to our finishing touches. I'm gonna make it full screen again so you guys can see everything a little bit clearer. All right, let's go back to our colors here. I'm going to go back to my angled brush that we used for the majority of this painting. And I'm gonna start with my winter trees. I need to get some more white before I do that. Have you guys been having fun with this one? I know several of you have been waiting for this painting for a while. This is back from when I did teach local paint nights. I have never taught it online before tonight, so I've only taught this in my local paint classes. All right, I'm gonna start with the dark blue. Okay, and we're just gonna focus on like these first couple trees here, and you can decide how much or how little. I think I might make mine a little skimpier on this one. I usually like to change things up a little bit if I've already painted something once. I like to make it a little bit different. The second time. So we got our dark blue. Susan said, I'm starting to understand this whole trust, trust the process thing. See, it's all coming together, right? You go back to the beginning and you look at what we started with, you'd have a hard time believing that it's going to turn out like this, right? All right, so I've done dark blue, I've done a little bit of the turquoise. I'm gonna grab some white. Make sure you take some of your brushstrokes off the side of your canvas or else it looks like you have a frame around your canvas, which you may want. I usually don't. I want the— I want the painting to flow all the way to the edge. So these are the same brushstrokes that we were doing back here in the sky. They're just a little bit smaller, and I can get a little overboard if I don't calm down. I'm gonna flip my paintbrush around. This is my trick for doing some little snowflakes and just start dabbing these on. This is just one way I do snowflakes. There's several different options. What do you guys think so far? Barbara, I'm not understanding your question. She said, what if we already did the template on the canvas? Do we just do the in-betweens? So your template is exactly like my original. I traced it from the original, so you would just do your trees exactly like that. All right, let's take a little bit of our white here, have some snow kind of mound it up under our trees. I had a little black in it, just cover that up. We can come back and cover that up if it's got a little gray in it, not a big deal. All right, so we've got winter done. Welcome, Bridget, just joined. Um, Sheila's asking about brush care. I have a whole blog post on that, so if you go to thesocial easel.com and then go to blog at the top, just browse back, um, through those blogs, and I've got a whole blog post explaining all of that. But the short of that is no, don't leave them in water. I do. I don't take good care of my brushes. You should wash them and lay them flat to dry whenever you're done. So don't follow my bad example. All right, all right, we'll rinse that out. So now we get to do our purples and our pinks. I think I'm going to start with purple, and I'm going to change my height on these two. So maybe have the purple come down a little bit more. It's going to overlap that winter some. I just love all the colors of this painting. So we got our purple down. I'm going to go straight into my hot pink from there. Now again, it's okay for me to let these mix. Side if you want some of that sky showing through or not. Turn that brightness down a little bit, get a little bit of a glare up top there. And then I'm going to take some of my pink and white like I did before. And make us a nice little baby pink here. And just think of this as like round 1. We're going to go all the way across do all our seasons. And then you can take pictures, take a step back, look at it from further away, decide where you want to add more if you want to add more. Now I'm going to go a little bit wider. And I will tell you a little tip: the faster you do this, the better it's going to look. I used to tease people in my— in a nice way— but in my, on, or my local paint classes, I'd be teaching this, show you exactly how to do it right, just like this, and I would talk about speed. And not because I'm trying to rush you through it, but because I want you to get the brushstrokes the way that they're supposed to be and for it to look the way it's supposed to look, right? And I would come around and I'd see people just— I think I'll do one here, maybe there. And here's what would happen. Do you see what's happening? Does that have the same look? It doesn't have the same sporadic look. It starts looking like a pattern, right? So you want to move fast. You don't want to overthink it. You want to just keep moving. You don't have to paint this every time you take a brush stroke down. So I hope that helps. Paint fast. It's going to look better, I promise. You can go back and change it if you don't like it. Thanks, Miss Sarah. So I'm gonna go straight into my green. I've got all kinds of colors in here, but I don't care because all it's going to do is tone down my green, right? It's just going to make it a little bit darker, and I'm totally on board with that. So we're just going to load that up and we're going to transition to our summer trees. And again, we're going to overlap some of that spring. I'm going to start with dark green first, then we will come back with lime green, and then yellow. And I'm going to make my green nice and full. I don't know how much sky I'm actually going to let show. Which section is your favorite so far? Of course, we're not done yet, so you might not be able to say. Now when I'm going over the pink, I don't want it to blend, so I've got a heavy amount on there and I'm just quickly gonna pull a couple strokes. It— I'm not gonna push down hard because I don't want it to blend with the pink. If you're worried about it becoming too messy like that, just let it dry before you come back and do that. Pink, winter, winter, spring. We're split between the spring and the winter. Now I'm going to grab some of the yellow. So look at all the different paint I have in my brush here. Got a little fuzzy. Yellow and green. Cory's working on something. I don't know what that is. I do like the little bit of yellow when you add it into the summer ones though. Thank you, I'm glad you guys like it. All right, so I was able to kind of play with all those colors and not really rinse my brush. But now I want to because I want some nice rich warm colors back here. So I'm going to start with my red. It's got a little bit of orange in it. How are the trees where you're living? I feel like this is the latest fall we've ever had for trees changing, but they are finally getting gorgeous. Feels like it took forever. Let's go in with some orange. I'm gonna get a little mixture of these, just do some little random brush strokes, our leaves falling down. And then I want to have a bunch of these down on the bottom. Now, anything I'm doing over my black, I can always pull that black back over top if I feel like I got too many leaves on there. Just keep telling yourself whenever you're painting There's nothing you can't go back and change, okay? I love the leaves falling. All right, just to speed this up a little bit, I am going to blow dry this just a little bit so I can put the yellow on there and it shows a little bit more, because right now if I do it, it's going to blend a whole bunch. Let's do a quick overview here. It's got the blues to the pinks and the purples. Aren't those just such fun brush strokes? All right, we're going to do a quick blow dry. I love that. Patricia said, one thing you've taught me is to take time. I was guilty of thinking I had to hurry and get it done. Now your inner voice has taught me to walk away for a while. I've never been a painter, so love trying. I love that because I don't know why we have that in our head, like, right? Like you're on some kind of timeline. This is your painting. You can take as long as you want to, to do it. I don't want you to rush through doing anything. All right, but we're not done yet. There's more. Good night, Brenda. All right, we're going to get a little bit more yellow. Sorry. Start adding the yellow to our trees, and I didn't want it completely dry because I want it to pick up a little bit of that orange. So when I make those brush strokes, you see how the orange and yellow kind of mixes together a little bit? I love the way that looks. So there's one last little thing. We have one more happy mail winner. Is that Lisa Stevens? Congratulations. Okay, I'm going to take this small liner brush. This is in my liner set in my Amazon store if you're wanting to know where it is. Sometimes it helps to take a little bit of water and water down your black to get nice smooth skinny lines. So if you're looking at the original, I'm gonna show this to you really quick. See those branches that are showing through there? We added those back in. So that's what we're going to do at this stage, and they're just going to be here and there. And I'm just lightly dragging. They don't even have to be connected to anything. You're just letting a little bit of that black break through some of our leaves. Can you see the little bit of difference that makes? I'm gonna pull this spring one back over top again. And then I can always come back even after I do this if I just want to add a couple more little leaves on top to break it up. I can Can make each section a little bit different depending on how many branches you want to show through there. And then I'm just going to grab a little bit of white and just do a little skinny line on the sides of these trees, just a little bit of an accent. And then just to break it up A little bit. I'm going to go back in each section and just do a couple that overlap those extra branches that I added on. Oh, that had a little purple in it. That actually looks really pretty in that one. I'm going to get some of that lime green and yellow together. Every time you overlap, you're adding a little bit more Depth. All right, I think I'm gonna call this one done. Before we leave, does anyone have any last-minute questions for me? Don't forget, the early bird bonus ends at 7 PM tomorrow.
