New Painting Opportunity for 2025! Don't miss out!

In this live YouTube/Facebook stream, Christie Renee Hawkins (Christy of The Social Easel) announces the January 2025 project for her Painting of the Month Club: a step‑by‑step tutorial of Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night. She shares her personal connection to the painting, recounts a museum visit, and displays student work from her Tribe to illustrate that anyone can recreate the piece. Christy walks viewers through the structure of the Painting of the Month Club – a $20‑per‑month membership that grants lifetime access to segmented video lessons, a color and supply list, and a personal member library where tutorials are uploaded on the first of each month. She explains how members can control playback speed, pause, rewind, and work at their own pace, and highlights the flexibility to join or leave at any time, noting that individual tutorials are not sold separately. The stream covers practical details such as optional canvas sizes, color brand alternatives, and the ability to customize the artwork. Christy also outlines usage rights for members, including selling finished pieces, creating prints, using the designs for local paint‑night events, or turning them into crafts. Frequently asked questions are addressed, covering topics like experience requirements, access after cancellation, and the enrollment deadline (midnight New Year’s Eve). The video ends with a holiday greeting, a preview of upcoming 2025 plans, and an invitation to sign up before the deadline.

Hey everyone, it's Christy with The Social Easel, and I am jumping on with you really quick before 2024 ends because I want to share with you the first opportunity you have to paint with me in 2025. So if you will let me know in the comments, um, that you can hear and see me okay before we go any further, and, um, let me know where you're watching from today. And we have this streaming on Facebook and YouTube, so you'll be able to go back and watch the replay of this if you happen to jump in late or miss it. So the replay will be available for you. Um, but, uh, I'm really excited about what we have coming in January, just around the corner, literally ready to drop. In your member library on January 1st. And this is the first chance I've had, um, to be able to jump on live and actually share with you the newest project that we have coming up for you. So, um, hey Angie, thank you for letting me know you can see and hear me okay. Um, so yeah, let me know where you're watching from. Let me know if you are already a member with me, and that could be whether you are a Tribe Sister in my Tribe or if you Painting of the Month Club member. But I'm really excited about this painting opportunity that I have. Again, this is going to be our newest painting for Painting of the Month Club, and it— we only have 2 days left to sign up for it. So you have today and tomorrow to sign up, and I'm going to go over all the details with you. I'm going to obviously share the painting with you in case you haven't seen it yet, and I'm going to answer any questions that you have about how Painting of the Month Club works. So if you haven't heard of it or know what it is, we're going to go over all those details, and I'm going to share a little behind the scenes with you as well. So without further ado, I am going to show you what we are going to be painting in January. We are doing Van Gogh's Starry Night. I even wore my blue shirt to match the painting today. So let me know in the comments If you are a Van Gogh fan, if you love him as much as I do, um, Van Gogh was hugely inspirational in my life from early, early childhood, um, all the way through until now. And I have been studying him and his work. I have even gone to Amsterdam to the Van Gogh Museum, and I had the privilege of getting to see his original of the Starry Night at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Gosh, probably about 14, 15 years ago. Um, and I can still remember walking in, and that was really the only reason I cared about going to the MoMA. I just wanted to see this painting. And, um, we walked through a long part of the museum, and I finally turned the corner, and I see this in a gold frame off to the side, and I immediately got tears in my eyes. Um, so yes, I'm one of those people who cries when they see a certain painting, but this one has always meant so much to me, and I've just loved the movement in it. I loved the big brushstrokes in it. I loved everything about it, and I always have. I have probably painted this on my own, um, since childhood. Um, I mean, seriously, like, when I was in middle school was my first version of it when I did a research paper on Van Gogh, and multiple times since then. But this is one that I created last year in my tribe and did with my tribe sisters, and it was one of my favorite ones that I taught them. So if you aren't familiar with Painting of the Month Club, the way that it works is I choose paintings that I've done with my tribe sisters from the past year, and I pick our most popular ones and I set them aside and I save them for Painting of the Month Club. And this was the first one that I wanted to do in 2025. And I just want to share with you really quick some of the student work that we have had. So obviously you see some of my tribe sisters here on the screen holding up their pieces. And Christine has done two different versions. She loved it so much she did it twice, one on a heart canvas and then one on a bigger one. And you see all these different variations that some of the Tribe Sisters did. Um, that's just a little peek. We have even more pictures that you can look at of theirs when you go to the website. But I love sharing their work with you, um, because number one, it proves to you that you can do it. And I know a lot of people sometimes look at paintings like this and they think, that's cool that Christy can paint that, but there's no way that I can. And I want to tell you that you can. So the great thing about, um, the way that I teach online specifically is that everything is broken down into easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions. So what I mean by that is I'm actually gonna flip this over, um, to this tab instead. So when you become a Painting of the Month Club member, you will log into your website. You have your own website where everything is hosted, so you don't have to catch a live on Facebook, you You don't have to be in a Facebook group or anything like that. You have your own member library, and when you log in and go to your specific Painting of the Month Club painting, this is what you're going to see. Now, if you were to join today and you were to log in, this is what you would see. You have your reference photo, you will have your color and supply list. It's going to tell you everything that you need for this painting, the colors that I chose. Again, those are just recommendations. You don't have to use the colors that I did, you don't have to use the brands that I did, but I give you what I use in the painting, and then I also provide color swatches for you. So if you don't have that brand or that color, you can print that off or use your phone and take it to the store to find colors similar to that. So you have all your resources in one easy spot. And then I want to show you what it actually looks like when you log in and you start taking your lesson. So again, even something that looks as intimidating as Van Gogh's Starry Night is broken down into multiple steps. And in Painting of the Month Club, we go in and we edit those videos and we actually break them down into 3 separate videos, making it even easier for you to consume. Um, and you're not on a time frame. You can— and I'm going to quickly show you what I mean by that. When you log in, this is going to be what your screen looks like. Ignore the stuff on the side, that's the back end of my website. But what I want to show you see if I can make this bigger. Checking. Okay, so what I want to show you is this is what it's going to look like when you pull this up on your screen. And you can watch this on your phone, your iPad, your computer. You can log in from anywhere and you can hit play. The first thing I want to do, because most, uh, and again, I'm going to start from the very beginning with you. We painted the background black and then I'm going to go over each thing step by step with you, showing you each step of how I did this, how to sketch your design on, um, all of the details. Okay, so see this little thing I'm doing here at the bottom? This is yours to control the speed, um, whether you want to stop, rewind, go back if you missed something. You can pause, hit play. This is so handy because you can take this at your own pace. and we start from the very beginning, and I show you all the steps that you need. So, um, that is just a quick overview of what it looks like when you become a Painting of the Month Club member and how you access the material. So I hope you are as excited as I am to do this one in January. If you're here with me live right now, let me know if you have any questions. Until I see any questions pop up I'm gonna go over just some of typical ones that we get, um, when we talk about Painting of the Month Club, or that my customer service may get. So before I do that, I'm going to prop this up, um, just for anyone maybe coming in late, so that this, uh, painting is still back there for you to see. Um, so the way that Painting of the Month Club works is it's only $20 each month that you are a member. So for $20, you get lifetime access to that painting tutorial. So for January, again, it's going to be the Starry Night. The great thing about this is this is how you build your library as a Painting of the Month Club member. You don't have to complete these in any certain amount of time. You're on no one's time schedule but your own because you have lifetime access to them. So you get to log into your member library You could do one video a day if you wanted. You could do all three in one session, just depending on how much time you have that week or that month to set aside to your painting. So it's up to you. And then the great thing is, the longer you are a Painting of the Month Club member, you will get a new painting dropped into your— a new painting tutorial dropped into your library on the first of each month. The main question that we get is, I love that painting, I want to do that one for sure, but what if I don't want to stay a Painting of the Month Club member? Um, you can hop in and out of Painting of the Month Club as you would like. So this is your only opportunity to get to paint these paintings. I do want to make that clear because people ask me all the time if I sell individual tutorials, and I don't. The only way that you get to paint with me on a regular basis is by being a member in one of my memberships. So Painting of the Month Club is $20 a month, and we have that opened all year long. And, uh, the Tribe is my secondary membership, and that is only opened a couple times a year. So if you're wanting to do painting lessons with me, this is your best opportunity, um, to get to do that. And we started the year off with my absolute favorite one. Um, so let's say you just want to do Van Gogh's Starry Night and that's all, you can join for only $20. And then before that next month, we will actually email you a preview of what is to come. That's another benefit of being a Painting of the Month Club member. You get to see what is coming next, and you can decide if you want to stay a member for that next month, or if maybe that painting is not to your liking and maybe you want to skip. Okay, so here is just my little piece of advice for those of you— everyone's in a different spot, so depending on where you are in your painting journey and what it is that you're wanting to get out of it, maybe you just want to do a one-time painting, and that's fine. We have something for everyone. But I would encourage you to not— you hear the phrase all the time, don't base a book by its cover, right? So same with painting. I have seen through the years— I've been teaching online for over 7 years now— and, um, I have seen time and time again women say, you know, I did this painting with you, or we did this in Tribe, or we did this in Painting of the Month Club, and I wasn't sure it was really my style, but I did it anyways, and I ended up learning so much. So I would encourage you to continue to stay in Painting of the Month Club because the longer you are, the more you're going to learn. And you don't have to worry about losing access to the videos or keeping up or falling behind, any of those common concerns that we have, because you can do it at your own pace. So, um, hopefully that answered some of those questions for you of how Painting of the Month Club works. And again, these are exclusive paintings that won't be available anywhere else. So if you want to do Van Gogh's Starry Night, this is your only opportunity to get to do that. And that opportunity opportunity ends tomorrow at midnight on New Year's Eve. So we close doors to Painting of the Month Club on the last day of the month, and then we will not reopen for the next month until the 15th. So you have a limited opportunity to get access to these paintings by signing up, and then once you are signed up and you are a member, then you have lifetime access to those. Um, Let's see. So Maria says, um, what day and what color? So Maria, um, in case you jumped in late, this is— these are not live lessons, so you don't have to worry about what day or anything. They're loaded into your library on the first of each month, and then you can access them anytime you want to. And then your paint list and your supply list is there for you, and you can print off or take that device, you know, take that picture on your phone with you to pick out your paint colors. Hey, Miss Karen, she said hello from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I love Painting of the Month Club. I learned something new every single time. I love that. And again, we share those photos when you guys go to the link, um, to learn more about it. You'll see some of our photos from other tribe sisters who have completed these paintings, and we love getting to share those because I like showing you that anyone can do this. You do not— this is another question I get: do you have to have experience? And you don't. You don't need any experience to join this. This is for beginners as well as those of you who have painted for a long time. Because I teach so many different styles of paintings, you can kind of tell from my wall behind me, um, I don't just teach one type of painting. Um, I love all kinds of art and I teach all kinds of painting. Um, so you're going to learn something new every single month that you're in there and continue to build your skills. Um, Diana said, can we make Starry Night bigger? Yes, you absolutely can. So Diana, for this one I don't provide a template, so that means you can pick any size canvas. And I'm going to show you this picture again, um, just in case you missed it, just to show you examples of, um, what some of the other ladies have done. So you can see, um, Christina's and Kirsten's here. Those were both done on 16 by 20s, which is what I did them on. But then Christina decided to also do a small version on like a heart-sized canvas. You can do this on whatever you want to. I've even painted Starry Night on, um, a square canvas. So that would just mean you crop in, um, the, the edges and you kind of change the composition of the painting a little bit. But the thing I want people to remember is I'm showing you an example of how I chose to do it, but that's just the jumping off point. You can take these paintings and make them your own in any way that you want to. We've had women take the Starry Night, um, and my pumpkin one up here that was also heavily obviously influenced by Starry Night and turn those into porch leaners for their front porch. I've seen it painted on ornaments. I've seen it painted on, um, like trays that you can use, um, for entertaining. So the possibilities are limitless on what you can paint this on. The other great thing, um, For those of you that might be crafty or even want to make money, um, on the side, maybe a little side hustle, maybe you want to sell your finished pieces, you do have permission as a member that you can sell the artwork that you make. Meaning you can sell— like, if someone sees yours and they're like, oh my gosh, I'd love that, I would love to have a version of that, you can sell your paintings to them. Or you can make prints of your art. You could put your artwork on product. We have women do, um, craft shows. And the other thing you can do is also do paint nights with it. In your local town. So as long as you are a member, you have permission to use my designs and my paintings to use at local paint nights if you choose to teach these in your local town. So those are all extra perks of being a member of either Tribe or Painting of the Month Club. Um, yes, so Joanne said, um, do you keep the painting tutorials for life even if you cancel being a member? Yes, So this is one of the greatest benefits of Painting of the Month Club is you're not going to find these paintings anywhere else for $20 because they don't go into a store after this. They go back into my vault and only Tribe Sisters have access to them. As a Painting of the Month Club member, you build your library. So I'm going to see if I can pull this up, um, for you. Let me get out of this. Hold on just a second here. Um, I want to show you kind of an example of what it looks like in your library. I think I might have to change this really quick. Give me just a second here. So the short answer is you do not lose them. Um, the long answer is I want to show you what your library will look like the longer you become a Painting of the Month Club members. So you basically just build your library. Every month you'll get a new one and you keep access to them. Obviously, if you cancel, then you don't get the new paintings that continue to come. So I'm going to show you this really quick, um, if I can click the right button. Okay, so when you become a member, whether you are a Tribe Sister or a Painting of the Month Club member, and you log into your member home, your library, this is what it's going to look like. Now these are just examples of what's in mine, obviously because I'm the owner. Um, so this is where the Tribe Sister Vault would be, but I'm going to scroll down, and these are any past workshops you may have done with me. But each month, this is what it's going to look like. These obviously date back to the very first year we did Painting of the Month Club, and you will just continue to build your library, and you'll have these numbers at the bottom, and you'll be able to just keep going through. And you have access to these whenever you want to. So whenever you get the itch for painting, you can just jump over into your member library know that everything is in one spot. It's easy and convenient for you, and you have access to it 24/7, as long— lifetime access to that. Maria said, could we purchase a black canvas instead of painting it black? Would that work? Absolutely. So you can buy black canvases. They sell them in 16 by 20 size. I've seen them at like local stores. Of course, you can look on Amazon as well. It's just a little more cost effective if you're looking at budget to just paint. It's cheaper to paint them black than it is to buy them black, but either way absolutely works. It does not matter. Um, someone said, can you explain to me how we own the lesson? So I'm not quite sure what you mean by own it, but you have lifetime access to it. So you log into your member library and that's where you access the videos. So as long as my platform, as long as the website still exists and we don't lose computers in this world, you will have access access to those videos. So, um, and then each month, the longer you stay a Painting of the Month Club member, the more paintings you will add to your library. So I'm getting ready to jump off here, but I want to wrap up really quick for those of you who may have come in late. I forgot I switched it all the way over here. So this is what we're doing for January's Painting of the Month Club, and this will be your only chance to sign up and get this for only $20. So again, this offer goes away tomorrow at midnight. So tomorrow it's your last chance to sign up, um, to get this. Otherwise, the only other way that you would get access to that is if at some point in time when we open doors again, um, to my VIP membership tribe, that is included in the library. But I don't sell individual tutorials, so Painting of the Month Club is the perfect option for you if you're just wanting to kind of step your foot into painting and maybe you're limited on time and you don't have a lot of time every month devote to it, these paintings are great because you can break them down over the span of a month or a week, or do it all in one session, however you choose to do that. So, um, I think that's about it. And I just want to say an early Happy New Year to everyone. Um, thank you for following me, thank you for engaging with me and, uh, being a huge support, um, in 2024 and all the other years. And I can't wait to share more with you about what we have coming in 2025. So stay tuned. I'm actually flying my team down here. They are going to come in the studio with me next week and staying at our lake house, and we are doing our team planning for the year. So it's going to be so much fun, and we've got a lot of great things in store for you. So everyone have a safe and happy holiday, and I will see you again in 2025. Bye.
