NEW Workshop! Let's paint together in March!

This content was created by Christie Renee Hawkins. This content was uploaded by Christie Renee Hawkins. This is a YouTube livestream titled "NEW Workshop! Let's paint together in March!" (posted Feb 18, 2025) hosted by Christie Renee Hawkins (Christy of The Social Easel). In the live session she promotes a 10-day painting workshop called "Among the Wildflowers" (March 3–13) where participants will paint a poppies piece; the workshop costs $17, includes a traceable template, lifetime access to replays, a supply list/PDF pack, private Facebook group access, live lessons and Q&As, and is included for Tribe Sister members. Christie reviews the workshop curriculum (composition, color mixing, texture/impasto using gel medium, palette knife techniques, avoiding overworking, mindset/perfectionism coaching), answers audience questions, previews a future masterclass, and shares personal context (recent Vegas trip, travel delays, painting-as-therapy anecdotes).

Hey everybody, Christy with The Social Easel, and I know it's a little late for some of you, but I've had a full day today and just wanted to hop on and share with you about our upcoming workshop that we have in March. So you may have seen some of the posts about it, but we've had a lot of questions. And so I thought this would be a good opportunity for me to just hop on here with you share a little bit more about the workshop that you can see behind me right here. We're going to be painting this beautiful poppies painting that I absolutely love and can't wait to share with you guys. Um, so anyways, wanted to share the details about that. So while I am waiting for everyone to jump on here, I just thought we'd do a quick intro. Um, Hey, Miss Linda, and share where you're watching from this evening. And, um, I was just going to share a little bit about my, um, trip to Vegas. So if you guys haven't been following me, um, in stories, and we've made a few posts about it, I'm going to be sharing more too. But I just got home from Vegas last night, and, um, Corey and I went together and we were there for a business conference and also there as, um, a friends business trip. So, um, I know you guys have probably seen some of the pictures, but I was there with some of my business besties is what we call each other. And it's all my creative business girlfriends, and we take lots of trips together and do lots of things throughout the year. But this was— in the 6 years that we have been friends, this is the first time that we have brought our men along with us. So there's been a couple times where maybe one or two were along, but the first time we were all together. So it was lots of fun, um, to do these big group date nights out in Vegas and just have our guys there for the business conference as well. Um, and then the business conference itself was amazing. We were there for Funnel Hacking Live, um, which is run by ClickFunnels and Russell Brunson. And, um, it was just, our brains and our hearts are so full. And, um, it was just a great week of learning and being inspired and remembering who we are and what we're capable of. And, um, yeah, so I think we're all just on fire coming home. But yesterday, um, coming home was not so easy. Um, Corey and I had a flight that was supposed to leave at 9 AM And we get there in time, everything actually plenty of time at the airport before we had to, um, check in on our flight. And I'm one of those people who I don't like to be anywhere any earlier than I absolutely have to be. I hate sitting and waiting. Um, and we got there in enough time that we sat for a full hour before our flight took off. And for me, that is just way too long to just be sitting and doing nothing. Then we get on the plane And everything seems to be going smoothly. We back out to go take off, and then right before, like, we're like already like out towards like run-on runway, and, um, they're like, we have a maintenance issue, so we're gonna be here for a minute until they figure it out. Which is great, right? Like, obviously we don't want to fly if there's a problem with the plane, so definitely good to stop. But the 15 minutes turned into 30 minutes turned into 45 minutes, and then we have an announcement that says, well, it looks like it's going to be over an hour and we can't figure out what the problem is. So after sitting on the plane for over an hour, just sitting, um, they pull us back up, they deplane us, and then they're like, you're gonna have like an hour before we leave. So I'm like, fine, we'll go get something to eat. Then I sit down, we sit down to get something to eat, and I look at my phone and it says we're boarding in 7 minutes. And I'm like, what is going on? So we walk back over and then we sit there for another 30 minutes before they finally put us back on the plane. Um, obviously by this point in time we have missed our connection. We're flying from Vegas to Dallas and Dallas to Missouri, and So long story short, it was a long day yesterday. Um, we did thankfully get home and we didn't have to spend the night in Dallas. Um, so we made it home about 9 o'clock last night and to a frozen car that I had to stand out with no gloves on and my ice scraper trying to scrape off the windshield while Corey was getting the luggage. All I can say is, man, I was just ready to be home. So, um, I slept until noon today, you guys. That's how tired I was. I didn't have— the girls didn't have school today. I had no reason I had to get up. Um, my first appointment was at 1 PM, and, uh, so I didn't set an alarm or do anything. I just slept until my body told me to wake up and slept until noon. I don't think I've done that since I was in college. But, um, anyways, I felt very well rested today, but my day started late, hence the reason I'm live with you at almost 8:30 at night tonight. Um, but I didn't want to let another day go by because I haven't got to go live about it because we were gone all last week. So, um, I'm really excited to share about the upcoming workshop. So this one is called Among the Wildflowers, and Obviously it is some poppies. I'm gonna scoot this way so I can fit it all on the screen. Um, but this is a new one that I just created, and, um, honestly, probably one of my favorite pieces that I've done. Absolutely in love with it. And I feel like in this lighting it really doesn't do it justice. I'm gonna try to hold this closer to the screen, but you can see the texture and um, all the beautiful strokes and colors and lines and everything in there. But what you really can't tell on screen— this is so vibrant. So I use some like neon paint colors in this too, so the poppies really pop. Um, but anyways, this is going to be what we are painting in March. So this is going to be March 3rd through the 13th, and, um, this is unlike any workshop that I have ever done before. Um, so most workshops that you guys take with me, um, or if I'm teaching like a free one, um, on the Facebook page or whatever, um, they're step by step, right? And I'm still going to teach you this one step by step, and it does come with a template. And, um, so lots of things are similar about it. Um, we're gonna go live. Um, it's a 10-day painting workshop. So 10-day experience with me, and there will be live sessions. Yes, you will have access to the replays. No, you don't have to watch it during the 3rd through the 13th. You'll have lifetime access to all of these lessons. But I'm, I'm taking this workshop a step further than I've taken any other workshop before, and, um, we are spending 10 days together. So not only am I going to teach you this step by step But this workshop is really meant for those of you who want to start learning how to create your own original artwork. So I would love to know in the comments if that's you, um, if you have always wanted to paint your own originals but maybe you didn't know where to start and it sounds very daunting and overwhelming, but you would love to be able to create your own artwork instead of just following a step-by-step tutorial. So let me know in the comments if that sounds like you, and if it doesn't, that's okay too. Let me know either way. Like, I don't care if I ever paint my own original, I'm happy painting step-by-step paintings. There's nothing wrong with that at all. And you can definitely join if that's all you want to do is just learn how to paint this. You can join, um, it's only $17. So you guys, $17 for a 10-day painting workshop with me is like unheard of. But the reason we priced it so low is because we want to make it accessible to as many of you as possible. But what I love about this is that I'm really gonna go behind the scenes with you and into my studio. You're going to go in my studio with me and kind of tap into my brain and see the process that I go through when I come up with a brand new painting. And I don't do that— I don't have just one way Okay, so in this one, I'm actually going to show you specifically for this painting how I came up with the inspiration for it. Um, we're going to talk about where I get my resources from, where I find the inspiration, and then how I make it all come to life. I am going to— this is kind of like a mini— think of it like a mini art school boot camp. Okay, we're going to talk about composition, um, we're going to talk about why I chose that number of flowers, why I chose to position those flowers where I did, why I chose to transition the background from a lighter, brighter teal to a darker blue at the bottom. There are reasons behind all of those choices that I make in my artwork, and I'm going to be sharing those with you and helping you understand how you can then make those own choices for yourself when you start creating your own originals. So, um, I am just going to browse the comments really quick and see see, um, some of the answers, um, that you guys left for me. So Molly was asking, is this for Painting of the Month Club? This is not. This is a separate workshop. Um, if you go to the Social Easel Facebook page or my website, which is just thesocialeasel.com, you will see the painting that is coming up for Painting of the Month Club. This is a completely separate workshop. Um, Lynn said yes, me. Um, so the question was, are you interested? Would you like to learn how to create your own originals? Shelley said, yes, I'm lost without tracers and tutorials. Mary said, yes, that's me. And said, sounds like me. Yes, yes, yes. So this is what I have been hearing for years, right? And, um, last year was the very first time I ever offered a master class that is a full-on course teaching originals. And this year we are bringing that master class back and you'll be hearing more about that in March. But this is an intro into that. So think of this as like baby steps into getting into creating your own originals. Plus you get to learn this really fun and gorgeous painting. Um, Cheryl said, I'm in— excuse me, throat's a little dry— I'm in Inner Tribe and would love to learn this. So Cheryl, make sure you hop into our Tribe Sister Facebook group because it is included in your membership. You don't need to sign up for it, and all the information for Tribe Sisters is in our Facebook group, and it will also be in your Tribe Sister weekly email. Um, Pam said, I would love to learn to paint on my own, and it's so fun. Here, here's the— I will say this really quick before we talk much further about the actual workshop itself. I think when people— and, and let me know in the comments if you think I'm right about this— um, I think a lot of people think when you go to create your own, that means that you're just gonna knock it out of the park the first time, or that it's just as simple as, you know, sitting down at an easel or sitting down at your table, wherever you create, and just taking an idea from your head and bam, it comes out on a canvas the way that you want to. And it's a lot more detailed than that. It's a lot more prep work. It's a lot more thought process. And that's what I'm gonna share with you in the workshop is like how to tap into that part of your brain and, um, how to learn to create and not be scared of mistakes. Because I think that that fear of like, I don't want to put something on canvas and it's going to turn out ugly and I'm not going to like it, that stops us. Let me know, does fear stop you ever? Like, because you're like, I don't even want to try because I can't. Um, and those are the things we're going to talk about in this workshop and overcome those things. Um, Barbara said, I've been painting but always been afraid to try something on my own. I will definitely be following this tutorial. That's awesome. So, um, I definitely think we're in good company here. Um, Julie said, this is so me, I'm having trouble transitioning from tutorials to my own work. So this is definitely for you if you are answering yes to this question. Um, I really, really want you to join me, um, in this upcoming workshop, and I will throw the link in the comments really quick, and then I'm also going to go more details with you and answer any questions that you have about it before I jump off of here. So I'm dropping the link in the comments, and of course you can always just go to the Social Easel website to find that information as well. Miss Marcy here, she said, I'm a proud painter of my own originals thanks to Tribe and your teachings, Christy. So Marcy is one of my star students. She did the master class with me last year And she knows this already, but I'm so freaking proud of her. She— I love Marcy, has her own signature style, and she will take my idea of a painting and make it into her own unique painting. And I love it. Every time she posts, I can't wait to see what she's come up with. So Vicki said, yes, that's me, I think about it all. So I won't pull all the comments up, but But the, the resounding answer is yes. So this is gonna be a great class for you guys if you are wanting to learn some of the insight, tap into my brain, and see how I come up with my own creations. Pam said, have you given a supply list? I don't publicly, publicly post the supply lists, Pam, so you get that email to you as soon as you sign up. It's a whole PDF pack. It comes with all the supplies you need. It comes with a template. So even if you can't draw, because I know there are going to be people who may look at this, and I'm going to hold it closer again because this camera just kind of fuzzes things out in the background. I don't want the look of this to intimidate anyone. I don't want anyone to look at this and think, there's no way I can paint that, because you absolutely can. So those of you who have painted with me before, we have a mixture here. We may have new people, new to me, new to painting with me, and we may have people who have painted with me for years. So regardless of where you're at in your painting journey, new or, you know, a veteran of painting, this is for everyone. So you don't need any special skill set, you don't need any special skills before walking into this class. I am providing a template, so you don't even have to draw that on there if you don't want to. Now we're going to talk about all that stuff inside the workshop because I don't believe people need a template for everything, but in this class I am providing that for you. Um, Mary said fear stops me every time. So Mary, we're going to talk about that, and we're going to confront our mindset issues head-on. We're going to talk about how to overcome that fear. And the first thing I'm going to tell you that I always say to fear is the, the number one thing that stops fear is taking action. When we leave fear in control and we give it power, it paralyzes us, right? It stops us in our tracks, just like you said. It stops me every time. So, but what if we take that power away from fear and we trust the process, and you trust me, and you trust the next steps that I'm going to walk you through, and we just do? We just take that— we take the action, we take the next step. Every step that you take in trust is going to build your confidence, and it's going to stop that fear from creeping in, because you're proving to fear and proving to yourself that that's not true. Fear is a liar. So, um, we're gonna— we're gonna talk about all of that inside this workshop. Um, so the link is posted for you. Um, I'm super excited, um, to offer this to everyone. And let's see, Lynn is asking about the masterclass. So Lynn, I'll be talking about the upcoming masterclass. There will be an opportunity to join again this year. It is not open, it is not for sale yet, but there will be another opportunity to join that as well. Molly said, how long will we have access to the workshop video? So yes, Molly, in case you missed it at the beginning, and I'm gonna go over the whole page with all the details on this too, but this is lifetime access. So, um, that has been the number one question that I've seen underneath our posts promoting this, is that people are worried that they can't paint from the 3rd through the 13th. Don't let that be the reason you don't join, because this will only be offered one time. This is a once-in-a-lifetime painting opportunity. You get to purchase it for $17. You have lifetime access to those videos after we go live for each you take one of those sessions, they are then downloaded and added to your member library. And so we make it super easy and convenient for you to go back. You just log in. You don't even have to do it on Facebook if you don't want to. We have our own private website for that, and you log in and you can take the lessons one at a time. You can go back and watch them as many times as you want to, but this is your only opportunity to actually purchase it for the $17. It won't be offered again. I won't be doing this live. Again. Um, good, June, I'm glad you are excited. Hey, Darla. Thank you, Miss Laurie. Laurie is another one of my star students. And I also saw Miss Pauline here. Okay, listen, Pauline, I'm gonna brag on you for just a second. Um, Pauline said, this month is my 5-year anniversary with you. Happy anniversary, my dear friend. You've taught me so much, and to get rid of fear and become confident in doing my best to create on my own. So Pauline's probably going to be a little embarrassed, but it's okay because I'm getting ready to show Miss Pauline off really quick because Pauline has been painting with me for 5 years. She is in my Tribe membership. She also took my master class last year. And Pauline, I'm getting ready to— I'm going to get over to my page here. I'm going to pull up Pauline's post from today in Tribe. Because I'm so stinking proud of her. Um, okay, let me get here. All right, can you guys see this? I'm going to make myself smaller and Pauline's post bigger. This is Pauline whose comment I have up on the screen, and what you see behind that comment that I have pulled up on the screen is an original that Miss Pauline just created. This is from the free poppies workshop that I have going on right now. All I did was give them— mine doesn't look like this, mine has a black background, it is the shape of the poppy. But Pauline took this and completely made it her own, and it is so striking and so beautiful. I'm gonna click on this close-up. Look how gorgeous this is. Um, so I'm so proud of her. And this— the reason I wanted to stop and share this, Pauline, and I'm glad you're here tonight, is because, you guys, this is what it's all about. Um, if, if you're like Pauline and you've wanted to learn how to create your own originals and maybe that seemed out of reach— when she came to me 5 years ago, she did not have any painting experience. And, um, now, you know, with the lessons that she's learned from me and continuing to stretch herself and to continue to grow, she had the confidence to paint that beautiful painting that you just saw. And I know for a fact she didn't have that confidence when she joined, but that was built over time. Just like I was saying, like, every, every choice you make to show up, every choice you make to paint one more time and learn another skill, they build, they build over time. And, um, it's just so exciting to see the progress that all the ladies are getting. And I love bragging on them, I love showing it off, and I'm just so proud. So it makes me so happy as a teacher to see these kind of results. And if you're watching and you haven't painted with me before and you want to do this painting, then trust me, jump in and join this workshop. It is only $17. You can't beat that. Um, Sandra said, if I'm a Tribe Sister, do I need to purchase? If you are a Tribe Sister watching, do not purchase. It's included in your membership, and all that information is in our Tribe Sister group. Mary said, is it live or on a private page? These will all be private links that are sent to you. So because it's a paid workshop, it won't stream here on the Social Easel, YouTube, or Facebook. You have to pay for access to the class. So if you're not on Facebook, you don't have to be to be able to join this workshop. So the way that we're doing the videos for this, they are live sessions. Again, you'll have immediate access to replays and lifetime access to replays, so you don't have to watch them. At the scheduled time that they go live. Um, they are all through what we call like an on-air livestream link, meaning that you'll have those links ahead of time. Each session has its own private link, um, and we send that to you via email, and then it's also, um, posted in our Facebook group where everyone will get to share their artwork and show off what they're working on. Um, let's see, any more questions? Okay, so I don't see any questions right now, so I am gonna pull up the actual page that you'll see when you go to sign up for this. Um, let me scroll down here, and we're just going to go kind of go over some of, some of the basics again. And then if you guys have any questions at the end, um, I will answer those. Sorry, let me turn my notifications off real quick. I thought I did. Okay, so when you click the link to go sign up, this is the page that it's going to take you to. Again, it's a 10-day painting workshop with me, March 3rd through the 13th. The 13th, you do have lifetime access to these replays. Okay, um, I'm not going to read this whole little section here, but you can read that. You can kind of see a view of the painting up close and all its fun texture. But here is what you're going to get when you join the workshop: 10 days of guided instruction with step-by-step lessons. We will have a private Facebook group. That group will open next Monday on February 24th so everyone can get prepared and introduce themselves. It's only $17 for the entire experience. That includes a traceable template. So if you're worried about drawing or thinking you have to know how to draw a poppy, you do not. No drawing is required. You can jump in and join us, and I'm even showing you how to do a template, how to transfer it onto your canvas, all that stuff. You don't have to have any experience whatsoever. You will get live lessons as well as replays so you can watch at your own convenience You're getting a special workshop guide, and I added a bunch of extras to this workshop guide. You guys will be able to download this early if your tribe sister Megan is either putting it in the group today or tomorrow. So you guys will have early access to that so you can get prepped ahead of time, get your supplies, and get yourself ready for the workshop. And then I've also included a couple extra things, kind of like some homework lessons in there and some different like elemental stuff that we will learn with art elements. All of that information is going to be in that workshop guide, as well as a place for you to take notes during the session and, and to write down any questions that you have, so you can bring those to me in the live Q&As, which is the next thing that I'm going to talk about, is there are live Q&As. So not only are you going to get to paint with me live if you can make those live sessions, or watch the replays, but then we will also have special Q&A sessions that are just meant for me to go in and help you if you're struggling in a certain area and help answer any of those questions that you have. So here is what, what makes this different from a typical, uh, you know, pop-up workshop that I do. Um, you are not just going to learn the steps of how to produce this painting, but you're actually going to go back into the studio with me and I'm going to take you from inspiration to creation. And what I mean by that is I'm going to show you exactly where I got my ideas from, and that is a combination of things for this particular painting. I'm going to show you how to take that inspiration that I did and how I turned it into this original composition and why I made the choices that I did, what makes this piece of artwork compelling, what makes it attractive to look at, you know, all those types of things. We're going to talk about all that. I'm going to show you my personal process and how I create my original artwork, and that means the making the mistakes, the sketches, the ideas, playing with color composition and all that kind of stuff. We'll do a deep dive into color mixing and color choices, like why I chose the colors I did and how you can make these beautiful colors yourself. We're going to talk about how to create dimension and depth using colors and values in your artwork in addition to using texture. So this painting, I'll hold it up again after I'm done here, but you can see that this has a lot of texture. This is more of what we call like an impasto style, where— and all that means is like a thicker paint, and it's not super thick, but you can definitely see it like come off the canvas. We're going to go into the importance of composition, layering, brushwork, palette knife techniques, all of those things that help make this painting so unique. And we're going to talk— I love adding this one in there— but like how to avoid overworking your painting and how to know when it's truly finished. I get this question all the time. How do I know when I'm done? So we're gonna talk about that in the workshop. We're gonna talk a lot about mindset. There's gonna be mindset coaching in here. And my goal is to help you let go of perfectionism because here's the thing, perfectionism and fear, I put 'em both over here in this category of like, they're the evildoers, they're bad. Perfectionism and fear are bad. And we're gonna like bust the myth that they control us, right? So we're gonna learn to let go of perfectionism. We're gonna learn to stop letting fear control us. And we're going to trust the process instead. And we're really going to learn to embrace the beauty of the creative process and enjoying the journey. By the way, throwing this back up, you see this hat I have? Trust your journey. That's what we're going to learn to do in this workshop, is I'm going to teach you how to trust your journey, that you're exactly where you need to be. I'm exactly where I need to be. And the beauty of that is we're all in different places, right? and it's the right place for all of us. So learning to trust your journey and trust this process, um, of creating. And if you really do love this hat, I just added it to my shop as well, and you can get your own cute little pink Trust Your Journey hat. Um, okay, throwing that back up. And then we, uh, lastly, we're going to learn how to cut loose and have fun. And what I mean by that is you're going to get messy with this. I'm not gonna share all the details and secrets of how I made this fun painting just yet, um, but we're gonna get messy and you're gonna learn to embrace that messiness and realize how fun it can be to play and paint like a kid. Okay, so who is this workshop perfect for? If you want to learn how to create your own artwork but you don't know where to start, if you love learning and trying new creative techniques If you want to see the exact process that I use to create my artwork, and you're ready to put in the work and trust the creative process. And last but not least, you just love this painting and you want to learn how to create your own version. So again, I'm going to say, if you don't have experience, that is not a problem at all, whether you're a beginner or you're an experienced artist that is looking for new inspiration, fresh fun ways to paint and maybe change up your style a little bit. I am a firm believer in continually learning. I'm always growing, I'm always stretching myself, and I encourage all of my students to do the same thing. So, um, don't be afraid to jump in and learn something new and learn something that maybe pushes you outside of your comfort zone. Um, so here is the workshop schedule. I'm just going to leave this up here for just a little bit. Um, again, all of this is on this page when you go to this link. So, um, this is just going to give you kind of a visual breakdown of what you can expect during this 10-day workshop. And, um, replays are always available. Again, those of you popping in late, you have lifetime access to this, um, when you sign up. Um, Kathleen said, will this repeat. This actual Facebook Live you're watching, yes, if that's what you're asking. You can watch this from the beginning as soon as I'm done live tonight. But as far as signing up for this actual workshop, it will not repeat. This will be the one and only time I offer this class and the only time that it's offered at this price of $17. So if these dates don't work for you, again, don't let that be the determining factor of whether you join us or or not, because you can go back anytime and watch them. Um, Pauline, you're so funny. Um, okay, let's see, what else did I want to share with you guys? What other questions do you have for me? I can leave that up here if you guys want, or I'll just take it back to full screen of myself. So I'll pop it back up if someone wants to see that. But when, again, when you go to the link yourself, you'll be able to see all of that information that I just shared with you. I think I said I was going to hold this up again. I'm going to try to give you an eye. Can you see that texture if I hold it on the side like that? And all these different, like, fun elements that you see in here. So this was, um, this is really fun to create. Obviously, I think I've said that, but here is something else I just want to share too, and this is more personal. But I just like staring or sharing the, um, kind of story or process behind, um, like when I create. So we've had a lot of stress in our lives in the last year, still have it going on this year. And for me, painting is healing. This is my therapy, and it can be your therapy too. Um, and I came to the studio and I told my team that day, I was like, all right, you know, because yes, I'm a painter and I'm an artist, but I also run a business and I also have a team of people who, you know, need me, um, to be there for them as well. I have a family, I have 3 daughters and a husband, and so it can be really hard for me to carve out that creative time for myself. And I know those of you that I'm talking to right now can feel my pain in that. And so I just want to share that because that is not a you-only problem. That is, um, I think, an all-woman problem. It's hard for us to carve out time for ourselves. But I told my team that day, I was like, all right guys, I gotta get— I gotta give myself creative space. I've got to give myself breathing room. I can't paint under pressure. I can't paint when I'm stressed out. On a deadline. Like, so I was like, I need a whole day. Um, I had been saving ideas, I had worked on sketches, so like I had an idea of where I was going with this, but those are all just like floating around ideas in my head. And, um, so, you know, team was like, we got it, we're good, no questions, all day long. Told the family, don't text me in case it's an— unless it's an emergency, like I'm staying in the studio all day by myself with my music pumped up loud, dancing around like an idiot, having fun, and just being creative, playing around with different elements with this painting, and kept playing with the layers and adding more to it until I was just like, yes, I'm done. Okay, so the reason I tell you that is because how many of you out there watching right now have any stress in your life? Raise your hands in the comments. Anyone have any stress? Anyone want to walk away from that temporarily for a little bit? Painting isn't going to solve your problems, but I will tell you what it will do is it allows your brain to calm down. It allows you to decompress. It allows you time to process your feelings and your thoughts. It gives you time with God. To maybe talk to him while you're creating, because he gave us this beautiful gift. What an amazing gift God gave us to be able to paint and create beautiful things and in the process make ourselves feel better at the same time. Are you kidding me? Like, we're so lucky. So, um, I know, like, when I come on, everyone thinks I'm happy and bubbly all the time. I'm not. At all. Like, I have hard days, I have struggles, but what truly does make me happy is this. Like, painting makes me happy. It fulfills me in ways that nothing else in this world does. And then on top of that, getting to share it with you, getting to share painting with you, and then you feeling and seeing and experiencing the same feelings that I am of the joy that painting can bring you. Like, that just fills my heart to the up, up, up, up and overflowing. And, um, I just— I guess I'm telling you all of that as a reminder that, um, you don't need to like put yourself on hold, that it is not selfish to take care of you, and that you need to take care of you. And there's going to be a couple posts about this you'll see in the upcoming week where I'm talking about this this, um, head-on. As women, we're always serving and we're putting others ahead of us— our family, our spouse, our job, whatever it may be. And, and we put ourselves at the bottom of that list. And it's time for us to start realizing that we can't keep giving if we don't give to ourselves also. If you want to pour into others, if you want to be a bright light, if you want to bring joy to other people, you have to bring joy to yourself first. and you have to find that healing, comforting space to be able to do that. So that, in a nutshell, is for me what painting is all about, what sharing it with you is all about. And in this particular workshop, I'm not only getting to share that with you— and we will continue to talk about mindset and trusting your journey— but I'm also going to start showing you, um, some of the techniques that I have learned over the last 30-plus years of painting, and I'm taking everything that I learned from art school, from being self-taught, from teaching other people how to paint for the last 12 years, taking all of that, and I'm putting it into a master class that will be coming in late spring. And this is just step one of that journey. So if you, um, if you are feeling the pull, if you are feeling like, man, I really want to do this, then do it, and you will make that time for yourself. And you can schedule that out on your calendar. It does not have to be when I'm going live. If I'm going live at 2 and you can't paint until 9 PM that night or 9 AM the next morning, then so be it. You're not going to miss out on the experience because you can't be there live with me. But I encourage you to— if you do sign up, I encourage you to also mark in your calendars. When are you— when are you going to schedule that time for you? I want you to make a date for yourself on the days that you're going to commit to painting. And maybe that means you do 3 lessons in one day, or maybe you have a Saturday off and you can take Saturday and have a painting day for yourself, like I had a painting day for myself. Whatever that may be, um, don't be afraid to take that time for you. Um, don't be afraid, uh, to, to jump in and do it. So Before I let you go tonight and I ramble any, any longer, do I have any questions about this particular workshop, um, and, um, anything having to go along with that while we're here? And while I'm waiting to see if you guys have any questions for me, I am also going to drop in the comments. I'm gonna go two links. So this first one is for my store. So, um, if you love this hat, you want your own version, just added that to the store along with a couple other new products, some mugs, t-shirts. Um, we will be continuing to add more over the upcoming weeks. But in addition to that, I even have created special workshop kits to go along with this painting. Um, so all of that is in the shop, social easel.com. I just dropped that link. And then if you came in late, I'm gonna also drop in the link here— oops, sorry, clicking the wrong button— the link here to sign up for the workshop. Again, if you are a Tribe Sister, do not sign up for it. Go to our Facebook group for details. Mary, yes, those are all 2 PM Central. But again, you don't have to join me live if it doesn't work for you, and you get all of this when you sign up. You can print off that PDF and it will have your full calendar, and you can mark all the dates in your calendar. Christina said, will there be an outline? Yes, so I am including a template for this size. Christina, we'll include just a JPEG version. Which you can then alter and make to what any size you want to. If you're wanting to do a bigger, bigger size than what I am, Mary said, are we going to be using impasto? So what we are using with this to get that impasto style look is gel medium. And again, that will be all on your supply list as well. Thank you, Nina. Um, Um, what size canvas did I use? Off the top of my head, I can never remember if that's an 18 by 18 or 20 by 20, but I put it on the supply list. But off the top of my head, I don't know which size I used. But the great thing about paintings is it doesn't matter. You can paint it on whatever size canvas you want to. You can paint it on a rectangle, a square, a circle. I'm pretty sure Christina bought a circle canvas for hers. The last day to sign up for the class is March 2nd. So doors will be open till March 2nd because we start the class on March 3rd. And our goal in doing that is try to get as many people into the Facebook group, getting your emails, making sure that everyone is set and ready to go, and we don't have a lot of people popping in in the midst of things going on. So I hope you guys are excited as I am. Um, have fun prepping for it, getting ready for it. It's going to be a fantastic 10 days together. And in that 10 days, I'm going to be sharing even more with you about the upcoming masterclass, to where if, you know, you have that yearning inside of you to continue to learn to paint on your own and create your own compositions and your own artwork, um, we'll be learning more about that in the masterclass that I have coming up in late spring. Yes, Christina said yes, she is doing a 30 by 30 circle, and I know it will be gorgeous. Um, I can't wait to see it. So, all right, I'm gonna get off here. You guys have a good night. As soon as I get off, you can go back to Facebook or YouTube, um, on the Social Easel, and the replay will be up there for you. Have a fantastic night. I'll talk to you guys soon. Bye.
