Pumpkin Pallet Paint Party with Heidi Easley from Texas Art & Soul || The Social Easel

In this live Facebook webinar, Christie Renee Hawkins (The Social Easel) and Heidi Easley (Texas Art & Soul) introduce a joint online workshop called the Pumpkin Palette Paint Party. They explain how the idea originated from Christie’s accidental palette‑board painting, which became a bestseller and transformed her business. The workshop runs from August 1‑9 in a private Facebook group and includes three recorded video lessons from Christie breaking down the painting step‑by‑step, plus a supplemental video with Corey on building a pallet board. Heidi will provide a 40‑page ebook, supply lists, and a training on setting up and running a “guinea‑pig” paint party, covering sourcing materials, pricing, and party logistics. The price is $20 (with discounts for existing members), granting rights to the painting, a color list, promotional images, and ongoing access to the group through September. They stress business best practices: require pre‑payment, set cancellation policies, limit parties to a manageable frequency (e.g., one per month), and treat paint parties as a supplemental income stream rather than a full‑time job. Both hosts share personal stories about transitioning from teaching and art to entrepreneurship, emphasizing mindset, purpose, and the emotional fulfillment of helping others create and profit from art. The session ends with logistical reminders about sign‑up links, membership discounts, and a transition to Heidi’s page for further Q&A.

We can do this.
Okay, we are setting up webinar for Facebook Live.
I think we're live.
Yay!
Yeah, we are.
We did it. Um, if you guys are joining us, um, thank you so much for your patience, first of all, because Third time's a charm. I had to go into Zoom and get this set up. And everyone, this is Heidi from Texas Heart and Soul. My name is Christie Hawkins with The Social Easel, if you don't know who I am, and we are partnering together for our first workshop together called the Pumpkin Palette Paint Party. And Heidi, I'm just going to hand it over to you really quick while I'm getting my tech stuff set up and let you tell a little bit about yourself and what we're going to do here.
Okay, so I'm Heidi, Texas Heart and Soul, and I teach women how to make money teaching paint parties. And me and Christie have, you know, worked together just, you know, kind of behind the scenes on different things, but we are bringing something really cool to y'all. So I teach people how to make money teaching paint parties, and so she teaches a lot of the painting side. We thought, why don't we get together? Because a lot of people that she's teaching are wanting to know how to do paint parties, and a lot of people that I teach want to know different paintings. So it's like the perfect collaboration. So, and again, I used to be a schoolteacher. I taught for 10 years art, and now I run a paint party business and also mentor women all over the world how to teach paint parties. So it's been a lot of fun.
Awesome. So yeah, Heidi is the queen of teaching you, and you know, I have been teaching paint parties for almost 6 years now. And I love doing it, but that's not my— I love teaching painting, so it's not my passion to do the business side of it and teach the business side of it. And people have asked me, and I'm like, I'm going to tell you about my friend Heidi, and she can tell you everything to do. And so yeah, we just thought this would be so much fun to do together. And forgive us for the crazy setup and my hot mess. That's my studio. You're getting to see it from another angle tonight. So I'm trying trying to keep up with your comments on my phone while looking up here. And unfortunately, we were going to be painting, both of us, while we were talking to you, but this kind of changed our setup. So what we're going to do is tell you all about the workshop and then in probably like 10 minutes or so until you guys are done with questions for us, and then we're going to hop over to Heidi's page at Texas Art and Soul. And yeah, fingers crossed that for some reason it worked on Heidi's page last time and not mine. So I'm hoping it's the same thing. And then we will get to paint with you, but my head is blocking it. Let me scoot over here.
So, so much.
Yeah, that palette. And I don't know if you've read my blog, you know about this, but this painting like totally happened by like accident. Like I was down— my studio used to be down in the basement and I was downstairs and I was thinking about fall paintings and I was tired of painting on canvas. Like, I mean, I do it all the time and I was like, it'd be really cool to do something different. And I wonder what it would be like painted on wood. And Corey had already built me this sign. It was just bare wood and I was going to use it to make a sign on with lettering, kind of like that Hello Fall— I'm pointing the wrong way— like a porch sign. So I was going to just stencil letters on it. And then I thought, I'm just going to treat it like a canvas and paint on it and see if people like it. So that was my very first painting. This is the original. That was my very first painting on palette board, and it completely changed my business. So for those of you that are— I almost called you business builders. That is from a different company that I was with in the past. For those of you that have your own business, this is going to be a game changer for you too, because it's something different. It's something that not everybody is offering. And when I started offering Springfield, I posted the picture on my Facebook page and was like, hey, do you guys like this? When I do a paint night, it sold out like 2 days. So I added another day, it sold out in 2 days, added a third day, it sold out. So I sold out 3 events, and that is 40 women a pop. In like no time, because it was something new and it was something different. One, people love pumpkins and sunflowers, and two, people love the look of wood. And I will say, now it's my preference. And if you follow me, you see a lot of my paintings are on palette board because it just gives such a substantial— like, it's like a piece of art, you know, instead of just a, just a canvas. So, long story short, that's the background of the painting. And inside the group, I'm going to break it down step by step and show you how to do it over the span of 3 different videos with me that will be recorded. Live inside our private Facebook group, and you will also have access to the video where Corey and I walk you through how to build your own pallet board. So if you've never done it before, we're going to show you how to. If you're, you know, good with tools, you can do it yourself. If you're not, you can find a guy to do it for you. I did. So yeah, that's kind of the gist of my side of what the workshop is going to be. And then Heidi, you want to kind of tell them what you're going to do in there?
Yes.
Okay.
So first off, I love that that's the one that kind of changed your business. That's really cool. I didn't know that.
Yeah.
It's funny because, you know, I have over 400 women in Paint Party headquarters and I teach them, you know, how to make money doing paint parties. And the crazy thing is, is I've been telling them, I'm like, get ready, it's all pumpkins and Christmas. Like, You know, that's like our, our go time. And I tell them, I'm like, you know, just breathe. Like, August, you need to breathe because, you know, September 15th through December 20th, I mean, you can book and book and book. And so whenever we were talking about doing this and, you know, she said this painting, I'm like, yes. And so I know a ton of the Paint Party headquarters members have already signed up because I'm personally going to be using it myself at my local parties because it is amazing. And, and I think that's funny that you're like, yeah, I want to do the teaching part of it for the painting. And how do you do the other part of it? Because it's so, it's so crazy because like when I— and I don't know if any of y'all have ever felt this way, but when you find the thing that you know you're supposed to do, like when you find that, like I really struggle with anxiety a lot, but when I am in the middle of a room, in the middle of 50 people at a paint party, It's like I'm totally calm. And it's so funny because if my family's there, if my mother-in-law is there to help or whoever, I mean, people are, you know, I need help over here, this over there, and they're all calling. But there's something about it that it's just like God made me to do that, you know? And I just feel this like peace of like, I'm supposed to be here. Like, this is what I'm supposed to do. And it's so, so cool. And another really cool thing about it, because this— I mean, I've been doing this for many years too. And when I see a painting I know that sells, This is one of those things that if you're thinking about maybe doing a paint party, this is one of those paintings that will easily, easily sell. And for $20 to take the workshop and rights to this, I mean, that's insane. And like she said, you know, she charged $40 a pop and easy, you know, $40 and you're paying $20 and you get a minimum of 8 to 10 painters. I mean, you're paying for it times again.
And oh yeah.
I'll probably schedule 2 or 3 just because it's so good. It's such a good—
well, and I've done it year after year. So just because that first year I sold out 3 times, I mean, you know, your business grows, new people find you, and it doesn't mean you can't use it again the next year. And I actually had someone email me and ask me that, do I have the rights to it, you know, after this season? Absolutely. And, you know, this is something new that I am doing because of Heidi and I partnering together. When I initially started my membership, I wasn't thinking about that I wasn't thinking about people wanting to use my designs and teaching their own paint parties, and I kept them to myself. And then I changed my mind because it's actually— well, one, it's very humbling that people like my art enough that they want to do it and share it with others. And when I think about the ripple effect of that, how cool is that, that this painting that I came up with in my basement on a whim to do for my local classes is now going to be shared all across the United States. That's the coolest thing in the world. And just like she said, like when you find— man, when I found what God meant for me to do and found this business, I have ups and downs. You guys are all going to have ups and downs in your business. But I know without a doubt this is why God put me on earth.
Yes.
And it's so cool. So yeah, I always— so no surprise that my eyes are watering right now. I'm not getting emotional, but I share that with you guys because, you know, especially for those of you that are— and if this is you, that's fine, and you can join the workshop even if you don't think you're ever going to do a paint party. If you just want to learn how to do the painting at home, you can do that. $20 is a steal to get to do that. But I want you to open your mind to the idea of learning to do paint parties because you never know what God has in store for you. I didn't know this was what he had in store for me. I was finishing my degree as a graphic designer and I started this business on the side to make a little extra money. And then I was like, wait, this is taking off. I didn't think I could get paid to be a painter. Are you kidding me? I would much rather do that than sit behind a computer all day. So that was how my business started. So you never know what's going to happen. And I wanted to share a quick story. And so I had a kids' summer art camp, and I had a lot of— some of Heidi's people joined, and some of my people in my membership joined, and they've been doing these kids' summer classes. And Linda— and I believe you're on here— yeah, Linda is on here. And Linda Stewart was doing them with her grandkids, and then it ended up, I think, some neighborhood kids And now people are asking her to do birthday parties and summer art parties, and she's like, I don't know what to do. And I'm like, take her to the workshop. Heidi's going to tell you what to do. And that's happening with a lot of my members. They never thought ever that they would be helping other people learn how to do this, and now they are. So I really hope I'm not freezing up because on my end—
Oh yeah, no, you're good now.
Okay. So yeah, long story. I'm a rambler. Have an open mind because you just don't know, and the knowledge that you're going to gain from this, you know, it's priceless, really.
Well, and I think that some people get confused because they think, oh my gosh, if I teach a paint party, now I gotta quit my job and teach a paint party all the time, and now it's gotta be a full-time income. It does not. Like, literally Some of the members in Paint Party Headquarters, you know, they work a full-time job and they do this for their fun money. They do this for their— I mean, think of like doing 2 of these parties and having all of your Christmas paid for. I mean, that's how I think of it. I'm like, okay, you know, I'll have a September 15th party, a September 20th party, put that stash away, you know, we can have an awesome Christmas. And then the rest of it— I mean, we have people in my membership that literally like have— we, we have this challenge where you open up a creative fund. And you put a percentage of the money you make into this fund. The whole reason for that is because I want to teach people to have fun while you are making money because here is the thing. We can all go through life and we can all just be, you know, got to pay the bills, got to do this, got to do that. But if you don't have a purpose for it and you don't have a reason, so I purposely went and my calendar is right over here behind my screen. I am always looking that way when I got to check something out. I went in and, you know, put all the things that I wanted me and Bobby and Pixie to do between now and December, because in the past I have been guilty of just booking as many parties as possible. And because you have an awesome pumpkin painting like that, you're going to have a lot of people, if you want it, they are going to want you to teach that party. And yes, it's great money, but if you don't have time to breathe or you're working full time and You know, I remember when I was teaching at Frisco ISD and I was full-time art teacher, 850 kids a week, and I was, you know, doing my paint party business pretty much full-time because I did not want to quit my teaching job until I knew I could replace my income. Now I am saying this to not get you to quit your job. I'm not telling you that reason. I'm telling you this because it was a Sunday afternoon. I was laying on my couch and I like my hips were hurting so bad and I was just laying there crying and I was looking at my husband. I'm like, I have no idea how I'm going to get up and go to work tomorrow and teach all those kids. Like, because I had run myself into the ground because I was working full time. I was doing parties every single moment I had open. And so what I recommend is don't be a crazy person like I was. Instead, book 1 party a month. I mean, if you do 1 party a month, September, October, November, December. Even if you did those 4 parties at the minimum of just 10 people, right? 40 people times $40. What's that? $1,600 if I'm doing my math.
Yeah.
And supplies, I'm going to teach you. That's part of this. I'm going to teach you where to get the supplies. The supplies are nothing. This is mainly a service industry. You know, it's about getting it ready, getting it together. And that's the coolest part is we're going to teach you that so that you can do your first guinea pig party. My, my part of this is teaching you how to get the supplies, how to really set up a party, and then how to start a guinea pig party so that you feel comfortable to get a real party, you know.
Absolutely. And that is exactly how I started my paint business. So, you know, when I was still in college, I was finishing graphic design, and I did Kylie's birthday party, and she wanted a paint party. She was turning 10. Now she's turning 16 and getting ready to get her license. And we did a paint party and the moms were like, that's so fun, we want to do that. And I was like, oh, okay. So I had 10 easels and I was like, okay, well, you guys are my guinea pigs and we're going to see if I can do this or not. And, and yeah, and then I just had to wing it. Like, there was nobody doing what I was doing in Springfield. I would have given anything to have a Heidi back then telling me what to do, because I just figured it out on my own by trial and error. I— you guys, it's much better to just have a coach telling you exactly what to do instead of trying to figure it out on your own.
Yes, I know. I think back to whenever people talk about, you know, being a part of Paint Party Headquarters, I'm like, oh my gosh, if I would have just had somebody, you know, I remember staring and like watching the YouTube videos of the tips Christie Renee Hawkins, the artist. I just loved her. And you know, my dream was always like, I'm going to, you know, be on stage. I'm going to have, you know, 200 people and I've gotten to 129.
It's nice.
Eventually I'll get there. But you know, I remember just like, you know, any break I had at school, I was like watching and like, okay, what supplies? Okay, where is she putting that? Okay, what is she doing here? And you're trying to just recreate this. And then now I'm like, I just tell them, just do this. And they're like, oh my gosh, it just saves so much time. So If you can learn something so valuable like this for $20, I mean, I've spent that on coffee with me, Bobby, and, you know, so I would love so much to have you all join us with this.
Yeah, absolutely. So I just wanted to do— hold on, let me make sure. Oh, Linda said— Heidi, I have to read you her comment because Linda is the one I was telling you about that people started asking her to do the parties and she texted me today and she's like, what do I do? But she said, OMG, this is happening to me. We all need a coach. Thanks to you both. So, you know, it's, it's awesome, but I wanted to share that with you real quick. Um, so what we're going to do is we're going to recap really quick everything that you get inside the workshop, and then we're going to hop off here and we're going to hop over to Heidi's page. So if you want to hear us talk again, you can join us over there. If you already know you want to do it— Heidi, did we get that link posted, or do I need to do that really quick?
And I think I posted in the comments. Yes, we probably need to put it in the The title. When we get off, if we need to see it in the comments.
Yes, I found it. So, um, yes, so sign up there. If you are one of our members, if you are in my tribe or you are in Heidi's membership, do not use that link. You have a special link inside our membership Facebook pages because you guys get a discount. So keep that in mind, folks. If you— whenever Heidi and I open our memberships back up, everything we do outside the membership, you guys get a discount on it. So another benefit of learning there. But so here I'm just going to recap really quick, making sure I'm not missing any questions. Oh, Ashley said she has 15 prepaids for her paint party tomorrow. So that's—
Ashley, I know I talk all about prepaids. Yes, 100%.
Don't you ever schedule a party— don't you ever schedule a party without prepayment. Do not do it.
You know how many people have come to Party Headquarters and they're like, well, it says, you know, 412 are interested. I'm like, that is BS. All of that is BS until they have paid. Don't set up for anybody. And so it just takes a mindset shift because seriously, guys, you know, everybody on Facebook, yes, I'm interested.
Yes, I'm in.
Oh yeah, I said I was interested in trying to win chicken for a year yesterday at our opening, grand opening of Cane's. And I was like, By the time it came, I was like, I'm not going to go wait in line for that. Like, I need the chicken like every week for a year. I mean, I would love to, but I really don't need that. So yes, prepay, people.
Yes, prepay and do not take— and I'm sorry, friends, I'm not talking about my friends specifically right now. I'm talking about my friends maybe 5 years ago. Just because your friends say they're going to be there, guess what? You're going to get a phone call at 2:00 PM on the day of your party and they're going to go, you know, I had a long day at work and I'm not going to be able to come. After you've already bought all the supplies, you've got it all set up and you're ready to go, you're going to get these phone calls and these texts saying, I don't want to come now. Guess what? They don't get to do that if they prepay. So we have a cancellation policy, and I know Heidi has one too. And you do that to protect your business and don't feel bad about it. Don't feel bad about making money doing what you're doing.
So yes, it's fun, but it's still work.
Yes. Pam. Yeah, scroll up in the comments and you'll see a link from Heidi, um, where you can sign up for that. So here's what you get. You're gonna have, um, the party starts, um, on August 1st and it runs through August 9th. During that time, that's when we are teaching you guys. So the way this is going to work is we have a private Facebook group and we are going to take turns teaching. And what that is going to allow you to do is have an implement— I can't And why can't I talk?
Implementation.
We're going to give you a day to implement everything you have learned from day one of my teaching. So I'll come in on the first day and I break this painting down into 3 days. Short lessons, so it's not overwhelming if you've never painted before and you're thinking, well, I'm not doing this, these people are talking about paint parties and all this stuff. This is for very, very beginner. I teach every single level. If you've never picked up a paintbrush before, I can teach you how to paint. But so I'll teach a day, Heidi will teach a day, and we'll kind of go back and forth, and it'll run from August 1st to August 9th. Now we don't disappear after that. We're still going to be in the Facebook group, and we're still going to be talking to you guys through comments and that kind of stuff. And we'll have that Facebook group open through September, and then we will archive the group. And what that means is just comments are turned off. You still have access to all the material. You can go back to it whenever you want to. All the videos stay there. You are going to get— I will put in a photo for you to use if you're promoting. You will get a color list of exactly the exact colors that I used in my painting, so it looks just like mine. And then Heidi, you can tell them what is included on your side of that.
Okay, yeah, so I'm going to give you all the supplies, like the current supplies that I'm using for things, you know, the paints and brushes and all of that stuff. And I'll also give you, if you don't have yet, I have an ebook. It's like a 48, 40-page ebook that kind of just breaks down step by step exactly what to do. And then I'm going to do a training on setting up and kind of what special things you can add to make you stand out because Here's the thing, guys. Sometimes people go, oh, there's already a Painting with a Twist, or there's, you know, Board and Brush, or somebody's already doing that. Guys, I have a Board and Brush half a mile from my house that way, a Painting with a Twist 2 miles from my house that way, and also one of the members in Paint Party headquarters is in my town. And guess what? She messaged me and I gave her like 5 locations to go for because there is plenty out there, I promise, especially September through December. I don't have time to do all that you want. And then also I'm going to walk you through how to do your first guinea pig party. And when you do a guinea pig party, I want to remind you, you know, that's just kind of to get your nerves out. And I love people who do— like, you don't have to, but I love people who just go for it and do their guinea pig party while they're making a profit every party, because that's what I teach. But if you do want to just do your family and friends, I just personally My, I have 3 brothers and a sister and they heckle me all the time. And so it is easier for me to just make money as I am trying it than to be heckled by my family.
Hilarious.
So anyway, so I would just, I am going to kind of walk you through that. And then also I just wanted to say, we guys, the way I teach my members is I tell them, do not, I mean, I know this is going to sound harsh. But do not depend on your family and friends to make your business successful. And I have so many people that, you know, I, I never depended on that. Yes, some showed up. And yes, you know, I have family members that want me to do parties and things like that. But guys, when you start putting your, you know, vacation money or your Christmas money or whatever you're wanting to make this money for, you know, have a goal like I want to make $500 and you know, splurge on this, like have a goal of like how much money you want to try to make in these, these 4 months. And then don't rely on your family and friends. You know, I've had members say stuff like, you know, I thought they supported me, but they didn't. You know, here's the thing. You know, everybody has something they're working on, they're doing. And if you don't put that pressure on your family and friends and you just do what I'm showing you to do, and do what Christie is showing you to do, it works. You know, we are both here doing this and have done this for many years. So, I think one of the members of my group, she posted this long post and she is like, I just get so hardheaded and I just do it this way and that way. Then finally, I just do the way Heidi says and then it works.
I am like, I am not telling you this, you know, just to talk.
Like, I really want you to be successful. We do know what we are talking about. We have done it. We have done it the wrong way and we have done it the right way. We are saving you you guys.
Well, she is, but I know she does things the way that I do things. She's saving you so much heartache. And yeah, it's like I have made every— not liking your business too, because if you do it the hard way, you're going to get resentful. And when you do it the right way, things are going to fall into place the way they're supposed to. And, uh, it just makes life so much easier, um, than going through all the mistakes first.
Oh my gosh, I have so much to say about charging, about There's so much to tell you, but I know we can't do it all right now. But yeah, I just, I want to help you. I really, and we both have a heart to see you succeed. And, and we both feel like, you know, there is enough out there. I mean, so there's so much out there if you want, if you want to get it and you want to try it and maybe you just do a few parties and pay for your Christmas, who knows? But how cool would it be if you could do that?
Absolutely. So thank you guys for going through all the tech difficulties with us and going live 3 times to finally hear us talk. But hopefully we answered your questions and you guys are excited. We are going to hop off of here and, you know, praying we get to go over to Heidi's page now, and hopefully we don't have to do it 3 times. Hopefully this was just— apparently there's something with my page and I can't pull guests up. So anyways, we're going to hop over to Heidi's page. If you don't know what that is, it's Texas Art and Soul, and just go over to her page and you can just keep refreshing and then you'll see when it goes live. Is that it?
I think so. Alright, see y'all in a minute.
Bye guys.
Bye.
