Tour of Palette Knife Paintings included with Tribe!

In this livestream, Christie Renee Hawkins of The Social Easel gives a studio tour and showcases a wide range of her palette‑knife paintings that are available to members of her VIP community, Tribe. She walks viewers through her fall wall, the “Coastal” series, impasto sunflowers, landscapes, modern flowers, and a new autumn chapel she is currently painting. Throughout the video she explains the techniques she uses (palette‑knife acrylics, mixed media, watercolor) and demonstrates a new orange‑wash underpainting. Hawkins outlines the structure, pricing, and enrollment deadline of Tribe (open until Oct 10, $47/month or $470/year) and details the benefits: instant access to over 175 tutorial videos, live monthly lessons, a private “Sister Vault,” guest artist sessions, monthly devotions, contests, and a community of artists at all skill levels. She answers live comments about supplies, hanging methods, and membership perks, and highlights bonuses such as the Bold Blooms tutorial, a Rustic Santa holiday painting, and a 10‑year anniversary raffle. Hawkins emphasizes that no prior experience is required, that members can sell their work and teach paint parties (offline only), and that all live sessions are recorded for later viewing. The video ends with a reminder of the upcoming Zoom paint party on Oct 11 and a thank‑you to the community.
Chapters
Hey everyone, it is Christie Renee Hawkins with The Social Easel, and I am hopping on with you, um, this afternoon because we are going to do a preview of all the different palette knife paintings that we have inside of Tribe, um, and that I have done over the last couple of years because doors are open right now to Tribe, and part of the perks of being one of my Tribe members is that you get instant access to over 175 tutorials that we have done over the last 5 years. So each day this week, I'm doing a different video with you guys that's kind of giving you, um, a little bit of a piece of what you can expect inside of Tribe. I will be posting a live Q&A um, that I did with my workshop group after this video this evening. So if you were on the fence about joining Tribe, or if you have any questions, you can ask me now. But we're also going to be posting that live Q&A, which we have lots of great questions and answers. So I'll be posting that later. But I thought it would be fun for you guys— I just got done hanging a bunch of my paintings up in the studio. So I was going to give you a little tour of the studio, an update of what we have done, and then a preview of all the different palette knife paintings, and show you the new palette knife painting that I'm working on for October. So I'm going to go ahead and take this out of the holder. Hopefully without causing any issues. Um, okay, so I'm gonna switch the camera around here. Give me just a second. Oh, we'll see if I can. Okay, here we go. So let me know if you guys have any questions. You can just post them in the comments. So I started a new section in the studio. I'm going to back up so you can kind of just see. I started my fall wall over here. Some of our bonus paintings, I'm going to be showing those to you guys. And then as we transition over, this is where I started putting all of the palette knife paintings. This is my wall of canvases. And my mess over here, I'll take you around. This is where all the recordings happen, where I teach you guys. I'm writing all the names of our new members down and getting ready to hang those on the wall. So slowly but surely we are coming along, but I'm going to come back over here and give you guys a close-up of some of these paintings. And then this is the start of a new autumn chapel that I'm working on. So you'll get a template with this. It's going to be one that we do in October inside of Tribe, and then we're also going to do a watercolor version of it as well. Give me just a second. Sorry for the frantic moving. So these are some of the Coastal series, the seahorse and the starfish. Love doing palette knife skies and oceans, several flowers and our animals. So let me know if you guys can see these pretty good. We've got our rooster and our cow, Miss Maggie here. I love her. So several flowers. This is our— a lot of people ask about impasto style art. That is my impasto sunflowers. You'll gain access to all of these paintings when you become a tribe member. So So you can see kind of the texture on some of these. So if you haven't done palette knife painting before, there's lots and lots for you to choose from when you become a member. Lots of options. One of our smaller landscapes— I did those in two really big versions. My White Barn, which is one of my favorite ones. I have another version of this hanging in my house. And our modern flowers and hydrangeas. We've done a cross with, uh, that has some resin and glass on it. A windmill, donkey, sheep, angels. So you guys kind of get the idea of what you can expect. And then Like I said, this is the one that I am working on right now. So this is kind of a fun idea of doing an orange wash over the painting first, so over the entire canvas. And what that does is when we start layering the colors on top of this, I'm really excited to see how this turns out. It's going to give that glow of that orange sky kind of peeking through our sky colors and our trees. Um, so I think it's going to be a ton of fun. I was hoping I had more time to work on this today, but I got busy getting this entire wall hung up. I will tell you, it is pretty exciting to start seeing all the paintings come together in the studio. We still have a ways to go. I probably have about 100 more to get hung. Um, but I just wanted to hop on and give you guys a preview. So let me know in the comments if you have any questions about palette knife, like how it works, what if you don't, you know, have the right ones, and I can answer those questions for you. I am gonna switch this back around. And hopefully pop you right back in this little holder here without losing you. Cindy said, I still need to get your palette knives. So you can get the— oh goodness, I almost lost you. You can get my, um, my set of palette knives if you go to shopsocialeasel.com. Um, the palette knives, my signature brush set, all of that is there. And we've just added, um, some new fun fall things to the store that you can check out while you're there. Um, Patricia said, did you use Command Strips? I did not. They are too time-consuming. Um, because this is my studio and I know I'm going to just keep changing things in and out, I just used nails because it's really— it's not going to matter if I have a bunch of holes in the wall. I'm going to cover them up with more art anyways. So yeah, I've just been nailing and moving, um, as I go along. I'm sure that will drive lots of people crazy, but that's okay. It's the freedom of having my own studio. So yeah, Corey's not here to help me with that, so he would probably not approve of the way that I'm doing it either. Thank you, Jean. Jackie said, I love that you use palette knives. I love working with them and so glad to be back in Tribe. Well, good. We are glad to have you back. Welcome back. So for those of you that are not in Tribe and you might be curious of what that is. There's multiple videos being posted this week. We're going to do a live Q&A replay here in a little bit on this page that you can check out as well. But this is my VIP membership, and we only open doors a few times of the year, but things are going to change in 2024. So I've got some other things planned for the year, so we are not opening doors back up Tribe until next fall so that we can focus on some other things in the business. So you have from now until October 10th to join and become a Tribe member. It's only $47 a month or $470 for an annual contract if you want to join for a year. And just to give you a quick overview of what that includes, this is where you are going to get all the live lessons with me. So each month Inside My Tribe, I teach exclusive paintings that are only for tribe members, and I keep those inside our private community. And then after they're live, they go into our Tribe Sister Vault. You get instant access to that, and that has over 170— excuse me, over 175 video tutorials for you to choose from when you jump in there. We also have guest artists and speakers each month, um, with over 60 of those already in the library. And then, um, I do a devotional each month in the group as well as contests and lots of fun. So, um, we are excited to welcome new members. We've had over 175 already join us this week, and I am ecstatic to welcome that many ladies to the group. So if you're looking for a community to be a part of that you know is going to help you um, further your painting skills and do it together, which is a whole lot more fun than doing it on your own. We would love to have you be a part of that with us. I am going to show you a couple of the bonus tutorials that you are going to get when you become a Tribe member. If you are already a Tribe member, then you have access— you will have access to all of these bonuses as well, as long as you stay a member. Um, Laquisha said, I want access to the mixed media pumpkins. How? So, um, if you are a Tribe sister, that's how you will get access to that. So again, those are just paintings that I only do inside of Tribe. A lot of times people on the page, when I post my new work, they're like, I love it, you should put that in Painting of the Month Club, or you should do a workshop for that. But the way that my business is structured is the Tribe is where I do all my live teaching. So that's the VIP membership. They get all the brand new paintings, all the brand new work, um, in that live environment and that community. The Painting of the Month Club is videos taken from my tribe after they've already been taught to them, so those don't come until later on. I usually plan Painting of the Month Club out almost a full year in advance. So if you want access to the mixed media pumpkins, I'll show you what we're working on so far. This is how far I've gotten. I know it's going to be super cute and I can't wait to finish it, but this is going to be really fun. So we close doors on October 10th. On October 11th, we are doing our first ever big Zoom Tribesister paint party, and we are all going to work on our mixed media pumpkin together. It will come with a template. They've already been given all the instructions in our studio technique session this month. that's going to tell them all the supplies that they need. So if this sounds like something fun you want to be a part of, that is one of the perks of being in Tribe and one of the lessons that we will be doing in October. Jackie said, I love going the annual route. There is just so much information in the library, you will never need anything, and I love your devotionals. Oh, thank you so much, Jackie. I'm glad. Thank you, Lucretia. I'm glad you love that. And then let me show you some of the bonuses because we added a new one. This is one of my most popular paintings. This is the Bold Blooms. Um, depending on how long you have followed me, you may have done this with me, but we did this as a workshop early in 2023, and I also taught this at my live event last October. and it has been in the vault since then. So we have saved it. It's going to be an added bonus. So anyone who didn't get to paint it with me is now going to, and that will be added to your library when you become a Tribe Sister. And then we have a couple fun holiday ones. This is the first one, is the Rustic Santa. He's probably my favorite Santa Claus that I have painted so far. So if you love holiday paintings, now is definitely the time, um, to join. And one of the, the first questions I always get is, are we allowed to sell our work and can we teach paint parties? And the answer is yes. And not only that, but these are proven paint party winners. So a lot of these come from when I used to teach local paint nights, and several of these were sold-out classes, most of them multiple sold-out classes. So these designs are ready for you to learn so that you can teach them at local paint parties. You just can't teach online. And then you can also sell your work. So a lot of women pay for their Tribe membership by selling their work simply by posting it on Facebook. So here is another one. This is a big-time favorite. This is a— this one's called Fall Chapel. And you saw I'm working on a new one. I love painting churches and lots of different styles of them. So the new one I'm painting is going to be completely different than this, but this is still one of my favorites, and it just makes me happy every time it's, uh, time to pull it out and hang it up for fall. And then another fun one is the pumpkins with sunflowers. Now I have done these on wood pallet boards that my husband has made me If you don't have access to wood pallet boards, you can of course just do these on canvas, or you can buy pre-made wood pallet boards like from a craft store. So lots of options for you to put those designs on. And then of course, everything that you see behind me, all of those fall paintings and Halloween paintings, are all included in Tribe. I don't have the Christmas ones and the winter ones hung up yet. We're not quite there. I'm hoping to get them hung up so I can show them to you guys before we close doors on the 10th. So we'll see if that happens. Um, Jackie, thank you so much. She said, I can't recommend it more. I have been an artist all of my life, uh, really, and I still learn things and tips. Love, love, love being here. Thank you so much. That is a huge, huge compliment. That's a huge compliment, especially coming from another artist. So I'm glad you brought that up because that is another question that a lot of people have is, do I have to have any experience? Or they may be intimidated by some of the art that they're seeing people produce from Tribe. And there are people at every level. And the most important thing to remember when you're inside our group is that comparison is the thief of joy. And we want you to come in and be at peace where you are at. You are right where God he wants you to be. Your skill level is where he wants you to be, and you do not have to have any talent. You do not have to have any experience. Learning how to paint is just simple, easy-to-follow steps and skills, techniques that you are going to learn and build on the longer you are in Tribe. So you don't have to have any experience at all when you come in. We have women who are brand new and never painted before, and we have women who are teaching paint parties and selling their own artwork and everything in between. Um, Mickey said, where do I get all the information and the template for the pumpkin class? I'm a new member. So Mickey, I did a studio technique session in the Tribe Sister group that is pinned in the featured section of that group. Make sure you have opened your welcome guide if you haven't already. That's explains where you need to find everything when you become a member. And the template is not done yet, so all the video is showing you all the resources that you can choose from when you're doing mixed media and tells you what you need. And then I'll have the template ready for everyone by the time we do our paint party. Karen said, will this be taped? I couldn't find this for some reason, so I'm just now joining. Um, yes, everything I do on Facebook is always recorded. So as soon as it's over, you can jump back in and watch the replay and catch everything. So we are so excited to be welcoming new members, and I just wanted to pop on and show you guys some of the fun palette knife because there are so many different techniques that I teach inside of Tribe. I thought it would be fun each day of the week while doors are open to just go over a different aspect of what TRIBE is all about. So I teach basic acrylic. We teach palette knife with acrylic paints. I do not use oils. We do watercolor inside of here. We do mixed media, which you may have heard me mention earlier. And mixed media— I'm going to show you my scarecrow because he's my favorite example of mixed media. So all mixed media means is that you are using different mediums. So that's why it's called mixed media. So I'm using acrylic paint, scrapbook paper, pen, ink, tissue paper, palette knife work, paint pens. So it's just a variety of a bunch of different mediums all combined into one painting. Is he not the cutest thing ever? I just love him. So he's just one of the many. There will be another little lesson recorded for you guys that will air before we close doors that will show you some more mixed media pieces that we have done inside of TRIBE and give you an overview of that as well. So, um, is it Friday? Happy Friday, everyone! This has been a crazy week. It is Friday, so happy Friday, everyone! I am getting ready to leave the studio because the girls have activities tonight, so, um, I am out of here. But I hope you guys had fun seeing an update in the studio, seeing what's to come, and the awesome bonuses that you're gonna get when you become a Tribe Sister. Oh, I forgot, we added one more big bonus to to celebrate the Social Easel turning 10 this year. Everyone that becomes a new tribe member, in addition to all current tribe sisters, are all going to be entered into a raffle. And we are picking 10 winners to celebrate 10 years that are going to get a happy mail package from me of an assortment of all the goodies that we have in the store. So if you're a tribe sister or if you are a new member, you're automatically going to be entered into that contest. And anyone new that joins us will entered in as well. And I love doing giveaways, I love doing prizes, so I'm excited about that and excited to pick some winners next week. All right, I will talk to you guys soon. Happy weekend, bye!
