Tribe Interviews || The Social Easel

In this live interview, Christie Renee Hawkins, owner of The Social Easel and creator of the Inner Tribe painting membership, welcomes three long‑time members—Becky Davis, Becky Walker, and Tish—to share their personal journeys, successes, and challenges since joining the tribe. Becky Davis recounts moving from 1980s wood‑toll painting to canvas, selling originals, setting up an Etsy shop, and navigating shipping logistics. Becky Walker describes a lifelong craft background, gaining confidence through step‑by‑step lessons, and completing a covered‑bridge challenge. Tish talks about early ceramics work, a red‑truck theme, creating door‑hangers, collaborating with her husband’s CNC carving, and using art for charitable rides. Christie highlights the tribe’s supportive community, the value of feedback, and the importance of belonging. She then outlines the Inner Tribe membership: $47/month, three new paintings each month, a technique‑week Q&A session, a vault of past lessons worth over $2,000, discounts on local paint nights, and exclusive challenges (e.g., winter challenge with art‑supply giveaways). She clarifies that members own and may sell their originals but may not repost tutorials. The conversation wraps with upcoming live events in Nashville with fellow creator Tamara Bennett, plans for future gatherings, and a final call‑to‑action to join before the membership closes at midnight.

Ready?
Get ready, it's showtime!
Going live, here we go. Okay, I am gonna, um, introduce you guys really quick. So, um, if you guys are joining today and you haven't been on the Social Easel before, my name is Christie Hawkins and I'm the owner of the Social Easel and, uh, Christie's Inner Tribe. So this is my painting membership and these are some of the awesome ladies in my tribe. So I'm not sure, I think you guys are in the same order as me, but top corner next to me is Becky Davis. Is that how you guys see it? Is Becky next to me?
I don't see the full screen like the Brady Bunch. I just see individual.
Okay, you can change your view up at the top if you want to, to gallery view, and then I think you can see all of us if you want to do that. So this is Becky Davis and the pink and leopard print. And then we have Tish down in the leopard print also. And then we have Becky Walker down underneath me here. So these ladies have been in my tribe, um, how long? You guys remember what month you joined? Becky Davis, did you join in April when I opened, or the next go-round?
Right, I had started prior to that at the pitch. So I think I've been painting with you now for a year.
Okay.
I think—
do you ladies remember when you—
I joined in June when you opened the second time.
Okay. Tish, do you remember? I think you joined in June too. I think it was like, right?
Yeah, I think it was June. Alrighty.
Well, so I wanted to have the ladies on here because I know there's a lot of people out there who might be scared or worried it's not going to be worth the money, or are they really going to do it? Are they really going to be able to learn how to paint if they've never painted before? So I wanted to bring these ladies on because I wanted them to share their stories with you of who they were when they joined, a little bit about them and how they've grown inside the tribe. So Becky Davis, I will start with you if that's all right.
Sure. Okay, I, I painted back in the early '80s doing toll painting on wood. It was more cutout wood pieces, and then there was little artsy-craftsy things for different holidays. And, and so I'd never been on canvas, and so this was a A neat way for me to explore doing it on, on canvas and then wood palettes. I, I just started looking online, seeing your posts on Facebook. I'd been to a paint night at one of your church paintings that you had done with a group of ladies, and we did the poppies. And from there, I just went ahead and decided, well, maybe this might be a nice hobby. I'd always had my, my hands into doing some kind of artwork or knitting or needlepoint or something like that, and I thought to find something that I can really enjoy and I'm going to stick with. And so then I thought, well, now I need to have a 10-year plan where I can have something that will go into retirement to bring in extra income And it's happened a lot quicker than what I'd anticipated. I've actually sold quite a few paintings and I'm going to start an Etsy shop before too long because there's not enough wall space for me to have all these paintings. And I have, I have quite a few that are already going out of stock. Date. I've checked into Uline shipping boxes to be able to ship the paintings. And so yeah, I'm getting it underway.
So okay, there's two things I want to say to this. One, yay, and that's so exciting. I didn't know this, she hadn't told me this yet. You know, because we have it— Becky also helps me at my local paint nights, so she's my assistant who helps me get ready for everything, but I haven't done a local paint night in like 2 and a half weeks, so we haven't had time to catch up. So I'm so excited for you. But two things real quick. I'm going to talk to you about doing something different than Etsy so that you can make more money. Okay, we'll take a huge percentage. And also I want to talk to you about the Uline boxes because I'm in the same boat and Corey is so sick of— you guys can imagine how many paintings I have in the basement, right? And last time I did my live sale, lots of people wanted them from out of state, and I didn't do it because I— it's very overwhelming if you don't know to ship, ship the— I can't talk— ship these bigger paintings and make sure you have it packaged correctly so it doesn't get damaged.
So I'm going to use Miss Becky here as my segue to figure all that out. For my boxes. And so we can talk later. And anybody else that's interested, we can, we can surely talk about it because I am definitely going to.
Yeah. Well, yeah, and you can share, we can, you can share inside the Tribe group later too. So we'll, we'll let people know what you're doing and then go inside Tribe and let people know because I know there's Already this time, a lot of women who have joined that are more on the business side of it or may even teach already are already in the mode of selling. And so I think that will be helpful to people in the group also.
Right.
I'm so excited for you.
Thank you. Thank you. Yeah, I didn't ever expect that this is going to take off quickly as it has. But I— do you want me to go ahead and show some Yes.
I want you to show off.
Okay, this was one of the first ones, and I don't know if you can see it very good.
Yeah, that's good.
We did online, and so I have it hanging on my wall, but it is for sale. Um, the one thing that I've learned from you, Christie, is that if somebody expresses an interest and they want it, then Sell it and paint another one.
There you go.
Then this one is another one.
That one's so good. Look at those birds.
And they're not as filled in as what they appear. They're more streaky on the wings, but I went with it.
So yeah, I think it looks good.
Thank you. Then here's the flower basket. It.
Very pretty.
And then this one is the last one that I'll show. This one's going back to Kansas. I have an interested prospect.
Yeah, that one's beautiful. I saw you post that the other night and someone say, I would love that if it's available.
Yeah. So, um, but it amazes me how the interest just peaks when you post them on Facebook I didn't know that, you know, anybody would really want to take an interest. And then what really surprised me was when a high school friend that I hadn't seen in years, he had asked if I was interested in selling my paintings. And I, I didn't take it seriously at that point. And I said, well, sure, if you want it. He was the first one. And so it's just kind of tailspin from there. I've been over the top with With excitement, trying to figure out what my next course of action is. I've done some wood pallets from Hobby Lobby that I have done for a friend doing the winter, the seasons of a chapel.
Yes, those are turning out so pretty.
So I've got spring and summer yet to do. So, but I'm excited and it is great. I mean, it's just going off gangbusters. I didn't expect it to happen so quickly.
Yes. And so for people That are wondering, had you done a little painting like a while back, but until you came to the local paint nights, you hadn't like painted regularly?
No, no, it had been 20 years since I painted, and I still had old paints and paintbrushes, but I hadn't painted since the early '80s. And the nice thing about this is that your step-by-step teaching, I mean, it takes you from start to finish. You're able to pause and and do the videos at your leisure. You can start and stop and start and stop. And it's nice to be able to have that ability where you don't have to feel rushed to get through a painting, right? Your time— you can leave it and come back to it the next day, whenever it works for you. Some days I will have— there might be several span of days before I finish a painting, just because of the time involved.
Sure.
Other things going on. So, but it's, it's at least, um, you can do it 24/7. You have access to all of the tutorials that are online. They're in there for you. Um, and the feedback that you get from all of the other InnerTribers, I mean, is, is awesome. I mean, we all pal around with each other in there, and that's what I enjoy the most is just being, um, the bond of friendship that you create over the span of Because Becky, you're in Oklahoma, right? You know, that's, that's what's so neat about this is getting to meet people all over the United States and getting to bond with them because we're fellow artists.
Yes, it's so fun. And our tribe, I think we have the best people in our tribe. Like, everyone is kind-hearted. There is, there is no room for nastiness in our group. There wouldn't be any ways with the group of ladies that we have in there, but We just have so much fun and it's such a positive environment. And I think that's so important because a lot of people will say, well, why would I join this when I can go on YouTube and find whatever I want? And you definitely can. You can go on YouTube and you can find all kinds of free stuff. Um, but you don't have community. You don't have an art teacher who is willing to work with you through the process if you have questions. So just having that environment to learn in, I think makes a world of difference. I've done things on my own training for myself, like business-wise. And now you guys know I'm in my own tribe, my business tribe that teaches me how to run a membership. The women that I have met in that tribe, they're literally like my lifeline. We talk all day, every day about our businesses. Jennifer's on here right now. And It makes such a big difference to have people to do your thing with, if that makes sense, whatever it may be. Our thing is art, so, but it's fun. It's so fun to have that group of people, and I am just itching to plan another event where we can all get together from all over the United States. So once we close the doors this time, and I know how many people we have The wheels are turning and we're, we're gonna, we're gonna all get together in person instead of just in our Facebook group.
That'd be great. That'd be great. The growth that you see too with how things work from when you first start to where you are now, or even months down the road, that's what has been a complete eye-opener. I mean, to think that, you know, I was just a newbie artist and now I'm probably progressing into a I mean, I know there's still so much to learn, but I, I know about the color guide or the mixing guide. Yeah, how to do the grayscale. I know the difference between a flat 1-inch brush, a wash brush versus a round brush. I mean, you, you give us so much knowledge and you— if you gave us a pop quiz, I think I'd do pretty good.
I think so.
I think so. So what you said, I wanted to jump over to Becky Walker really quick because you had mentioned like the growth from what— when you started to where you are now. And Becky, that immediately made me think of you because— tell them, tell them your story and where you started.
I have always been involved in arts and crafts and creativeness that came from my mother. She knitted, crocheted, sewed, did all that stuff. I've always wanted to paint, but I never have painted because I didn't know how and didn't think I was born with that painting talent. So I was, I wanted to do door hangers and I found Tamara Bennett, southernadornmentdecor.com, and then Christie Renee Hawkins, was a guest painter with Tamra, and I saw Christie paint a jar of hydrangeas. I was sold because she, she did it step by step and showed us exactly what to do, and I knew I could do it from that point on if I had some guidance. It's like learning to dance or anything else. Gotta break it down. And get all the basics in. And I had never painted anything but a wall before. Do that very well. And now, um, I feel like that I could tackle a lot of things. And what I think the most interesting thing is, I can look at a painting now and I go, oh, I see how they did that.
Isn't that the best feeling when you look at something that used to just totally blow your mind and think, I could never do that. And now you look at it and you're like, you could do this, then they did this. It's so cool.
It's the one thing that I think really helped me know that I was going to be okay was painting the challenge that you gave us to paint the covered bridge. Yes, without the lesson. You just gave us the picture and then we had to create it and we had to get the depth and the perception and the all that stuff. Stuff, and I was able to do it. And I thought, well, I'll be darned, I did it.
Do you have, do you have that one close by that you can grab?
I don't have the covered bridge, but it's the one above Tisha's head in her painting.
Oh yeah, yeah.
But I do, I do have some of my things that I brought in.
Yeah, let's see them.
Okay, and I don't know where to hold them.
Is this— yeah, that's good.
This is that, uh, Sunset Winter Sunrise. Winter Sunrise. And I love the trees in that and the sky.
Yeah, your sky is beautiful.
And then this is one of— I'm most proud of this one, this Nativity Scene.
I just love that.
And this is only on the little 8 by 10 canvas panel. And then here's my Bird's Nest.
Nice.
But I haven't put the flex on the eggs yet because I haven't gotten to that part of the lesson.
Yeah, I love the texture on the background of that one too.
Yeah, oh, I had fun with it. And then here's my, um, Tranquil Beach.
Hold that one up a little bit higher. There you go.
That was fun to do. Yeah, I've never been to a beach, so I don't know what they're supposed to look like. Well, I live in Oklahoma.
Maybe I need to schedule our event at a beach.
I mean, yeah, I don't know about seafood. And then I have my puppies here.
You did— so she just did this last week. I just taught that lesson last week. You did so good on that. I absolutely love the black and white.
It was fun to do. It really was. And let's see, here's the house cats. And I just did these in my mixed media because I didn't think I necessarily needed this to frame, right? And then I think I've got one more, my, my Paris one. Yes, I love doing this one. That was the one that my husband said—
I showed him the picture and he said, good luck painting that one.
And he made his words, didn't he?
Yeah, he did. Well, I mean, he is just shocked.
He can't believe—
because he's— I sit here at the kitchen table and do it, and he can't believe that he sits there and watches me not knowing anything how to do it. I keep saying, because I've got a good teacher.
That's so awesome. I love that.
I just— I love this group, and I mean, my family You know, my family's not crafty, and they go, oh, Mom's painting another painting. But anyway, so I can get on here, and I can show off, and I can brag and tell everybody what I've learned, and it's just fun. And it's— I would waste this much money a month on stuff, and I feel like I'm accomplishing something, and I'm leaving all these paintings for my children.
Yes, absolutely. I love that. And you, you've shown yourself that you can do something that you said you always wanted to do, but you just didn't think you had it because you thought certain people had it and some people didn't. And now you've busted that lie and you know that's not true. And now you are just on fire with it.
Well, Christie, I saw something the other day and I didn't write it down and I wish I had, but it was something about You think you can't do it because you don't have the talent, but you don't have to do it because you haven't learned how to do it yet.
Right.
I think anybody could paint, anybody could dance, any— I don't know if I could sing, but I mean, it's— you have to break— if you want to do something, break it down step by step. And that's the beautiful thing about all of your lessons. It doesn't matter where— what level you are when you walk in, you break them down so that brand new person can do painting number one.
Yeah, yeah. Well, that's the problem. I'm just so happy that, um, that it's worked for you and that you've— I mean, you just love it so much, and it makes me happy to hear how much you love it.
And I have to tell you something funny. I— you know how we share our work? In the tribe. And I'll admit, I've seen some pictures on there that I went, oh my, you know, but, but what you do, you don't point out anything bad or anything wrong. You find the good things in it. And you point out and you focus on that and let them know that even if it isn't the best painting, that they did something right and to keep on practicing.
Yeah. Absolutely, because there is something— there's something of value in every painting. And not— and we talk about this a lot— there is no such thing as perfection. There is no such thing as getting it identical to mine. I can't even make my— Janice talked about this the other day. She goes, when Christie says she can't even make a duplicate painting, she's right, because she had repainted something and they're always a little bit different. But there's something that you learn in the process, whether it's right or wrong, you still learn something with every single painting that you do.
Well, and look at the tree that you just did, the, the free tree. Yeah, look how many different variations on that one tree with people watching the very same lesson because they've taken it and made it their own.
Yeah, I love it. I'm a lifer.
Well, thank you. I'm so glad. All right, Miss Tish, anxiously waiting over here. Tish is our little ball of energy. She is also local, so I get to have her at my paint nights with me as well. So Tish, won't you tell them a little bit about your background and how you got started?
Well, back, um, I'd say about 5 maybe, I did ceramics. So my mom would take me to ceramics class and I would paint little figurines, which I do I have them still. They're in my china hutch and just little ducks and bears. And that led to painting ceramic houses for decorative for Christmas or, you know, setting up little villages. Well, unfortunately they're in a box. I have not— I've been so busy and after seeing Christie on Facebook, book, one of her ads on the red truck, I was like, oh my gosh, you know, I have to, I have to do this truck. So that kind of exploded into, I mean, trucks have over, I mean, well, they're everywhere. I changed my whole theme in my kitchen to red trucks. So my husband is like, Really, you know, I mean, but we— after going through the paint classes and, and online and then joining the Tribe, it's, it's so nice. I can come into my craft room and I can shut the door. They find me, but I lock it. So, but I'm able to— that's my calm down. That's my, you know, we're not going to see her for 2 days because He's locked in our craft room, but we get going on busy in, in life. So being in the tribe, even though you— I'm still watching Facebook and seeing what's going on there, I'm able to just pop in and go, you know what, it's my time. I got a couple hours. I'm just gonna paint something real quick. And unfortunately, I do save a lot of them. But most of my paintings, they're not even here for very long. I mean, they're gone. I either give them as gifts or somebody sees it and it's like, I want that. And yes, the shipping of the palette is expensive. Oh, but since now me starting to paint and, you know, hiding, my husband has now has now his hobby. So we bought a CNC machine and now he carves and I paint the carving. Oh my gosh. So it's been so cool. We did. I have one that I'm almost finished for. Every year we have a benefit ride in support of childhood cancer. And we do it in September. And every year I paint different door hangers and stuff to give away for raffles. And this year, since now we have the carving machine, I don't see my husband much anymore. I mean, and it's really hard for me to get him to cut me pallet boards anymore because he's doing his own thing now. So But anytime I'm out, even if it's a garage sale or at, you know, Goodwill, and I find little, you know, little like wood things, I mean, it might have been a buck. And I— anything that, that, that Christie teaches and different techniques, you can blend everything together into one idea and you can, you can put them on anything. I got these little wood boxes for like 50 cents. Yeah, you can. I can do anything I want on them. And it's, it's just, it's so, it's nice to just like Becky was saying, I can look at a picture and I can like Ocean Breeze, you know, I can pick the colors and it's like I'm not paying $30 for it. So I get my phone out, I take a picture of the picture, even the dentist's office or doctor's office, anywhere, and it's like, yeah, I could totally do that. So yeah, and your classes have just given me the confidence to step outside the box and know that nothing is perfect, nothing is exact. I'm not a professional artist, but I can put a spin on stuff and it's like somebody's gonna like it. I like it.
Yeah, absolutely. Do you have— I know you probably don't because it's off season, but do you happen to have any of your ornaments that you did?
I don't. Uh, maybe within that. I want to show you, I have, uh, see though, I don't— my mom's in here with me, but I don't think she can get over there. I know. So, um, but I do have— I, I'll have to post it later. Yeah, but I have my, my Christmas stuff put up. Um, but I do, um, my— no. Oh yeah, the door hangers. Well, because, because of you also, I'm in— I have joined a couple other groups and done, you know, here's, here's one door hanger from Christmas.
Yeah, that's cute.
Yeah. But now I can cut my own door hangers.
Oh, that's awesome.
Yes. So I can find a pattern and then just print it. And, and, but I would have never started this. My husband would have never gone this avenue on his hobby if I hadn't met you and, and gotten the, the drive, the, just the excitement, because this is my happy place. This is where I can regroup. Let the stress go, be in complete control, and then go back to life.
So awesome.
I love that so much. And I didn't, I didn't know that either. So I— this was a great, a great interview with you girls this morning because I didn't know some of these stories. So that's exciting. Yeah, it's fun for you and your husband to both find something creative that you like doing, and they can work together too. Do you have that carving that you started painting on to show, or is that somewhere? Yeah.
Nope, I got it. I don't know if you can— it's— yeah, well, let me, let me just turn my— yeah, okay, let me do this. Okay, so Sam Biggs, um, is a family— is a— is part of the family, is a nephew, and he passed away, um, at age 7. So his memorial is the Ninja Turtles, of course, theme. So this, yes, we— this isn't done because I don't have the insides painted yet, but, um, we carved this and then I just painted out the letters. And this is going on the inside of our, our trailer, um, for the ride that'll be displayed for everyone.
That's awesome.
Yeah. But oh yeah, and I just crashed everything. My bad.
Okay, so red truck.
I know, my red truck. So, um, yeah, but I mean door hangers too, you know, the covers, and of course my cherry blossoms, which is my favorite.
Oh, awesome.
But I mean, like I said, a lot of them I pack up for the season and then I pull them back out. So I have a bazillion, but I, I can't wait. Um, yes, I'm making a trip with Christie Renee Hawkins this week, tomorrow. And I'm so excited because life just gets busy and I have not had time to actually sit in here and just veg out and paint. So I'm looking forward to getting out of town and Meeting all the ladies that I'm involved with and the, um, my other groups and being able to sit and visit and talk except for just online. So it's going to be, I can't wait to make more contacts than what I've already made with Christie's group. So it's been, I needed this in my life and you're a phenomenal teacher. So I am very blessed to have met you and been on this journey with everybody.
Thank you guys so much, and I love that. I'm so— so for those of you that don't know, Tish and I are both traveling to Nashville. She's actually leaving before me because I can't take Kylie out of school that soon in the week. But we are going to Tamra's from Southern Adornments. We are going to her live event, and I am teaching live, and I think I'm teaching like 150 people at a time, and we are a little metal basket, like an Easter basket type thing. And then I'm helping Tamara with some other stuff. But it is cool because like she was saying, you— once you're like— she's in my group and we have our inner tribe, but it also— Becky and Tish are both in Tamara's group as well. And you meet these other creative women and you do, you just have this bond of friendship from these groups. And I'm super excited to be a part of Tamara's live event because I get to like hug and meet some of these ladies that I've only talked to online, and they get to hug and meet each other too. So yes, it will definitely be in the works for me and our group, and we will, we will get something going down the road once this launch closes and I can get some numbers going. But it is— I say it nonstop, but I can't stress enough how the Community is the biggest part. Of being a part of a membership and being a part of a tribe. Everybody needs their own tribe. Everyone needs a place where they belong and they have their people. And once you find your people, then it just changes everything. So it's— I am blessed by you ladies being in my group, and I love getting to teach you, and it makes me so happy to hear all the stories today and see the success that you guys are having. And just, you know, that all 3 of you, you didn't come from a background of knowing how to do this and you've already turned— and this is just in a few months. So imagine what it's going to be in a few years. And Becky Davis up top here, you know, this was like her backup retirement plan for how many years down the road?
For 10 years.
10 years turned into, I think, about 10 weeks after you started painting. So you never know. You never know what can happen. And you do have— so a lot of the questions that have been coming up is for the paintings that I teach you guys. Are you allowed to sell your originals? They are your originals, even if they come from what I've taught you. They're yours. You can sell them. So you can sell them locally. You can ship them like Becky's getting ready to do. I I'm totally fine with that. If you have a business or you're wanting to start a business to teach other people to do it locally, you can use them for local get-togethers or a church event, whatever you want to do locally. And my only stipulation is you just can't repeat my tutorials and share them online, which nobody in the group is trying to do. But I just wanted to explain to people that you can definitely do that, like Tish takes my ideas, and at Christmas time I was blown away. There were a few of you, you were doing stuff, and there— I can't, I can't think of who else was doing— I think it was Sharon. Sharon, are you on here? We're taking things that I was teaching them, just like she said, and either taking that painting and doing a mini version of it and putting it on an ornament, or taking different pieces like a snowman and Making gifts for everybody. It was awesome.
I did the nativity scene in one of my Christmas cards. I did two of the Christmas cards and I painted the nativity scene inside. Um, and I didn't do too many of them. I guess I didn't think it through very, very good about having it, but I still have some of them and so they'll be good for next year. I'll be able to do the nativity scene in them and they'll be good to go.
Very awesome, Sharon. Okay, that was you. I was like, I'm trying to remember in my head, Sharon's over here. I'm trying to look at comments while, while I'm looking at you guys too. But yeah, Sharon, if you have one on your phone, you should snap a little— put a little post of what you've done in there too. But it's a lot of fun, and I wanted you to meet some of the ladies that you will meet inside the Tribe when you join. And today, actually, in about 15 minutes or so, I'm going to hop off here and I'm going straight in the group and we're going to learn that one. Actually pointed in the right direction. We're going to do this Hello Spring painting here in just a bit. So it's not too late for you to join. The membership closes tomorrow night at midnight. So it closes Wednesday night at midnight because Thursday bright and early I'm driving to Nashville and I can't be dealing with tech issues and all kinds of other fun stuff that comes with doing a launch. So if you have any more questions, I posted the link below. But the group— the membership is $47 a month. You get 3 paintings each month and then a technique week where maybe you guys can better explain that to them. Becky, I know that you've asked some questions and we've answered them, but the technique week is if you've struggled with something or there's a technique that you aren't getting, that I basically— you get me for an hour. To ask me whatever you want and submit questions early so that I can go over those things with you. So, yeah, so like, I think it was the sunflowers, Becky.
Yes, I had in my multimedia mixed media pad, I have about 30 sunflowers and I I still don't have one I like.
You're being too hard on yourself because I saw what you have in your mixed media pad and there were several good ones.
Oh man, I tell you, they, they are my nemesis.
You know, Christie, one more thing.
You said it's not too late to join. It's also not too late to start. I've told Christie this before. I joined right after I turned 70 years old and I have never painted before, and now I'm a painting fool grandma.
And leaving all that stuff too for your family. I love that. And you know what else I love is not only that, but as women and as role models for our kids and our grandkids, something as simple— we just see it as our painting, and you know, we may take it for granted or it doesn't seem like a big deal to us. But by you doing that at 70 years old and saying, you know what, I've never done this before, but I'm just going to try it. It takes— I mean, what a lesson to teach our, our girls or boys who are looking up to us, and they're like, well, heck, my grandma started painting at 70 years old, and now, you know what I mean? Like, that's awesome.
I'll be the next Grandma Moses. Grandma Walker.
I just want to thank you guys again and just let everyone know everything they're talking about, everything happens, the social part of everything happens inside our Facebook group. And then this go-round, myself, my web designer, her name is Christie, also have been working very hard at creating the membership site. Which is the website at thesocial easel onlinepaintstudio.com. That is where we've created what we call our vault of paintings. So everything you like see behind you, all those paintings that I've done with these ladies over the past few months, you get immediate access to all of that. So there is over $2,000 worth of value just on that website alone. For $47 a month, you get the new monthlies every single month, but you also have everything that's there. And the best way I can explain it is it's kind of like Netflix. As long as you are a paid member, you get to paint with me and you have access to everything I have painted. If you jump out of the group, which you can, you can cancel at any time, you just can't rejoin until I open again, then you lose access to those materials. So it's kind of the same.
All of us are lifers though.
Yeah. But yeah, so it's, it's kind of like you're trading out Netflix for painting and look at what you get spending 2 hours watching a movie or spending 2 hours painting, and then you have something to show for it too. Not that I'm saying don't watch movies.
And to your local paint night, you're getting more with your online subscription than you would be at a local paint night because your local paint night. Is $40 or $50 depending on your canvas or your palette.
So yeah, I'm glad you brought that up too, because so what Becky is saying, so the membership's $47 a month and a typical paint night with me locally is $40 to $50 per person. But I forgot to mention this, someone had messaged me, this local person. So if you're local in Springfield, this is towards you or surrounding areas. You want to drive here, you certainly can. But as a tribe member, you also get a $10 off discount to every local paint night. So I know Tish does this a lot too because she likes to paint at home, but sometimes she wants to get out of the house. So she, she gets a discount on those paint nights as well for being a tribe member. And then anything extra I do online, you know, or locally, You guys get discounts that other people do not get. So for this last boot camp that I did, my Tribers got 50% off that price. So they're only paying half what everyone else is having. So I try to spoil you guys. I give you little bonuses here and there. I've got some little tricks up my sleeve that are coming in the next few months.
I have another outstanding—
the what?
The content. Oh yeah, and challenges are fun to be able to be a part of that.
So, and it's, it's fun to watch. We did a winter challenge. What was— I started that in January. We did it for like 6 weeks because, and I kind of explained this a little bit last night, but if you missed it, you know, depending on when you joined, either April, June, or September is when I had my openings last year, a lot of people would start with the monthly paintings and just keep moving forward, but there was this whole library of paintings back there that they hadn't done. And I was like, you know what, you guys are missing out on all kinds of stuff I've taught that you can apply to every painting. You learn something different. So I set a challenge to the group. For every painting that they went back and did from a previous tutorial, they got entered into a drawing for a chance to win a big box of art supplies. And the other— Becky's in my group, but the other Becky, who is here local, also won it. But it had canvases and everything for watercolor and brushes and paint. I think she got like 36 paints. So anyways, I like to spoil. I like to do challenges. I like to do, you know, anything to get you creative and get you going. So it's a lot of fun in there.
All right, girls.
Well, if you don't have anything else to say, I will let you hop off here, and I'm going to turn around and put my apron on, and I'll see you in the group shortly, and we will get to painting our, our spring flowers in the mason jar.
Sounds like a plan.
All right, guys, I'll see you in just a little bit.
Okay.
Bye.
Bye.
