The Hero Archetype

Christine J. Gold explores Joseph Campbell's Hero's Journey through Star Wars, King Arthur, and Marvel, arguing everyone has a hero within. She connects depression and anxiety to living out of alignment with intuition, and shares stories including a Zoom call with Russell Brand to show how everyday heroism looks like compassion, service, and activism.

Hello empowered empaths and welcome to The Power of Healing Your Energy Show. I'm Christine J Gold and I'm a spiritual medium, intuitive energy coach, and old soul healer. This is a live show and podcast all about unconditional love, your light, your intuition, and your soul's purpose. This is a solo episode all about the hero archetype, and we're aware of Joseph Campbell's, uh, the hero's journey. Think of Star Wars and the Jedis and the dark side, and, you know, Marvel Comics. I, I believe we all have the hero within all of us, and we're going to talk about that more today. Depression and anxiety are a side effect of not living your life intuitively, not trusting your gut, the lost connections with yourself and others. And I truly believe healing is the end of conflict within yourself, and that healing begins where the ego ends. This is Season 2, and you can find us live every Wednesday at 3 PM Pacific, 4 Mountain, 6 Eastern. A new guest and topic every week. Your Soul's Purpose is here. 2020, we were raising love to the 5D level through our summit. Uh, this year in 2021, we know we can go direct to source, so we're hosting a Christ Consciousness Summit Saturday, May 1st, and Sunday, May 2nd, from 10 AM to 3 PM Pacific, and we're live streaming it on Facebook and YouTube. Look for the link. I'm so excited to see you there. Replays can be found on my Facebook and YouTube pages. Let me know how you're doing. How is everybody doing amidst all the crazy stuff that we see in the world? I mean, come on. So today we're going to talk about the hero archetype and why, why, why am I bringing this up now? Because I feel, and maybe, you know, share with me below, that that many of us are maybe feeling powerless. Many of us are feeling scared. Many of us are getting mixed messages. Many of us are reading too much in the narrative, meaning being open to everything and attached to nothing. Um, gosh, just really, you know, see the illusion, right? See it, right? That, that's what I'm talking about. But know the truth. Know the truth. And the truth is we all have a hero inside of us all. Um, it may not look like, um, you know, the, the characters in Star Wars. I mean, these were just regular folks, right? But they— we all— it basically, that story of Star Wars as I know it when I was a kid, and I'm talking the original, of course, um, was all about just regular people showing up and standing in their sovereignty and in their light and knowing their power when they are feeling powerless or being shown other things that are not necessarily true. So yeah, I, I really think of, you know, Luke had such a, you know, Luke Skywalker and, and Darth Vader, right, that he came to know that as his father. Um, but he had such angst, but he also had a lot of, um, compassion. So there, that was the struggle. That was the struggle, but it was his inner struggle. It had nothing to do with Darth Vader and everything to do with him. So when we come in times of struggle and strife and, um, and, and whatever is being played out in the world, right on the worldwide screen, right, you need to go in and go, okay, is this mine, or is this something unhealed that's being reflected, mirror? Back to me. And I really want to say this: if you are judging, here's the finger pointing at them, whoever these people are. 3 get pointed back to you. So no more judging. Stand in your truth and your power and your sovereignty. Stand up for what you believe in, what you know is right. Find your tribe. Who are, who are your tribe? I mean, I was on a Zoom call with Russell Brand this morning. I mean, there were, well, I don't know, there's a couple thousand people there too, right? And you're thinking Russell Brand, you mean that, that guy, that comedian, he did all these movies and he was, well, he even says he was the biggest drug addict there was. And now he— well, people call him a guru and he says, I am not a guru. He basically turns it around and says, you are your own guru, you are your own hero, and you are your own healer. He's basically talking about responsibility, being responsible for how you're feeling, and it's not somebody else. Oh, it's the media. Oh, it's the government. Oh, it's, you know, it's COVID, it's whatever. Come on, where is this coming from? Where is this coming from? So I don't know if you've ever read Joseph Campbell's story of The Hero with a Thousand Faces. It's an amazing book. I highly recommend you read it, or at least, you know, there, there's movies, documentaries about it. Go and have a look. Um, the whole premise is to find out You are a hero. We are all heroes. And the definition of archetype is an original model or type after which other similar things are patterned, like a prototype. So you see Luke Skywalker, right? You're like, oh, you know, there's something in that that I resonate with. Or you see Wonder Woman, or whoever it is, right? Or you see the nurse or the doctor or your delivery driver, and you're like, wow, they wear capes, invisible capes, whatever it happens to be. You're like, there's something in that person. I see that in myself, and here's how I'm going to become a hero and my own archetype of it. So it's an ideal example of a type. And of course, in Jungian psychology, it's an inherited pattern of thought or symbolic imagery derived from past collective experiences and present in the individual unconscious. So that too, you know, ancestors, our past, our lineage. Come on. I mean, when you see certain things, you're— there's something that's sparked inside of you. It's like, I've been here before, I've seen this before. This is not déjà vu, this is past life stuff. And trauma and all of it. It's all coming to the surface. So please don't lose hope. If you're struggling, reach out. Um, and part of that Zoom call as well, there was a gentleman who was on the spectrum. He has Asperger's, and his name was Vishnu, which, wow, you know, what a name. You know, after a deity, right, a Hindu deity. Um, he was 23 and he's like, I'm trying to find my, my people, you know, people that, you know, accept me for who I am as a person and not, you know, what they see on social media or how much money I make or what my job is or whatever. None of that. He just wanted to find real authentic connections. Bless his heart. Um, so we— you should have seen the community. It was amazing. They all reached out to him. They sent him messages and love and, and lots of joy. So I love seeing that. So for me to be there and witness that makes me encapsulate that feeling of heroism, because that's basically what they're doing. They're raising— you're, you're forgetting about your, your BS and your ego and your stuff for a moment and being in service this for somebody else and helping them lift and helping them rise and helping them heal just by being there. Compassion, kindness, empathy— it's free, doesn't cost anything. That, that's the whole point. Um, yes, hello Patty, love and light to you. Thank you for being here. And like she says, amen, only you can make yourself happy. Absolutely nobody, nobody outside of us. And I, and I think that's why we're— there's so much, um, hmm, you know, um, I want to say mental health issues as well. It's all coming to the surface because it's been hidden. So wherever you shine light on something, what do you think is, is exposed? The stuff that you tucked, you neatly tucked and hid away, hoping wishing that it wouldn't surface. All right, I need to take a drink of water here. Gosh. And, um, I, I also think of King Arthur. Remember King Arthur, the sword in the stone? I mean, that to me, that, that was one of the stories that I really resonated with. Um, you know, and people couldn't believe, you know, that he could do this, and he, he was the only one that could pull the the, the sword out of the stone. But there are stages of the hero's journey. So the first one is Stage 1, Departure. So during this stage, your hero is preparing for his quest, his or her quest, or your quest, a quest. So you're preparing about it, meaning you're thinking about it. It's like, um, spiritual awakening, same idea. You're like The way I'm living and how I'm feeling, and it just— it's not resonating with me anymore. There's got to be something more. When you ask that question, the universe will provide the answer. But here's the thing: are you ready? Are you ready to heed the call? Stage 2 is initiation. So that begins as the hero crosses the first threshold. The first threshold, and it's through series of tests, and it ends as the hero begins the road back. So departure, initiation, and there's going to be lots of tests, and some say levels, and, um, um, Dark Night of the Soul. I mean, that one gets thrown around a lot. What's my purpose? Um, your purpose is really is anything you put your heart into that makes you feel good being in service for others. That honestly, that's the ultimate purpose, is to be in service for others and for nothing else. Not for promotion, not for profit— not for profit like a charity, that's different— um, not for, you know, egregious reasons, only because you want to help others. And that's it, and not getting accolades either, because again, you're feeding the ego. And I'm not saying the ego is as bad. It's something you have to be very aware of. And that, you know, I like to use the, the triangle or the, the Egyptian pyramid point, like geometry, sacred geometry. That's— you're the power point, you're the tip. Then there's other parts of you that encapsulate all of that. So, um, and did you see there is a story that just came out today? You know, and heroes aren't always people too. They are undercover. They could be your angels, your guides, your loved ones, and they could be animals and nature. Um, I'm in Canada, so today Canada's Trans Mountain ordered to suspend their oil line expansion work to protect hummingbird nests. The hummingbirds are the hero in this story. Isn't that amazing? Now, yes, it's 1 kilometer stretch, but here's the thing: they did not want to disturb them because they're particularly vulnerable during their nesting season. So one issue— they issued a written order on April 16th to halt any activity including tree felling with any heavy machinery, and it lasts until August 20th. So I'm like, this is amazing! Look at the hummingbirds go! I love this, and I love that people are more aware of, you know, the animals and of nature and working together symbiotically, cyclically, because it all comes back. Let me know, you know, what you feel you are a champion for, a hero for, and how have you been called to be a champion? Leave a comment below, even if you're on the replay. Let me know who you are. Are you a hero for yourself, your family, your community, your workplace? Share with us. Lately, and I think I've been driving my son crazy— Connor, I love you— Um, I have put my hands in a lot of things lately. Homelessness, affordable housing, what else? 5G, um, old growth, saving the ancient forest because it is a big problem here in BC. Um, I feel like that's my full-time job now. I'm on the phone. Oh, I'm on the phone with, um you know, BC Health with Dr. Bonnie Henry, you know, talking about, you know, the mask situation and how long, you know, things are going to be locked down for and just everything. I'm putting my hands into everything for the first time. I think I've never been more connected to what's going on in the world right now because I'm seeing so many things that just right in my face. I can't ignore them. And I want to implore all of you to stand up for what you believe in. I'm also part of a— I'm going to say an off-grid community because I'm looking at that. I'm really looking at that and becoming more sustainable. Um, permaculture, growing your own food, making your own things, being completely self-sufficient as much as possible. As much as possible. Do you hear what I'm saying? I think we have been too reliant on the government, on other people, on our way of life. It has made us very disconnected from everything, including ourselves, from nature. Disconnected from our way of life, the way that our ancestors started. Because I, I know for a fact, you know, my grandfather, when he came over here from Austria, had to change his last name. He— do you hear me? He had to change his last name so he was covert. He did not want anyone to know that he was Ukrainian. Why? Why? When, you know, we've been— this is something we've been fighting for a very long time, racism and anything else. So do you think we've made great strides? Because I'm still seeing a lot of separation when I look. So I'm really being— and I'm asking everyone to be very mindful of the things you're watching. The things you're engaging with. I'm definitely going to pull back on social media a lot more, and I want to get out and meet people. Here's a concept: meet people. You mean in person? What? No. Yes, meet people in person. I mean, online is, is great. However, it keeps us disconnected. Yeah, I don't care, you know, Zoom, StreamYard, podcast, whatever it is. I'm sorry, it's not the same as an in-person conversation, seeing somebody, you know, their connections, who they are, their body language, their little quirks, the things that make them, you know, make you, you. So yeah, that— those are some of my plans. Um, Gosh, and I, I need to go through a lot of things. First and foremost, like, wherever you're living— I live in Canada, you know— maybe look at your Charter of Rights, look at your Constitution, your, your rights and your freedoms. Go back and go and look at it because I, I bet you don't— we don't know anything, and we're letting— how do I say this— we're letting other people dictate our lives, if that makes sense. Do you know what I'm saying? If you're here, you know what, you know what I'm saying. If you don't, leave a comment and we'll have a conversation. Um, really empower yourself to know the law, to know your legal rights as a citizen. This is what I'm saying. Um, and really be mindful of you know, the news. I don't watch the news, and I might watch it once a month, and I'll go, wow, it's like a soap opera. I'm caught up within 2 minutes. It's the same bullshit narrative. I'll say it. Get your sources from people you trust and then do your own research. I mean, that's what my son implores on me. He's like, well, you heard this, where— what sources did you actually, you know, connect the dots. And he's right, you need to connect the dots and discern and decide for yourself. Don't let somebody go, oh, well, you have to think this way. No, no, no, sorry, excuse me, last time I checked, I have my own. I am a sovereign being. You gotta be careful. And I— even with your family, you want to cause separation. You've got to love. If you don't agree with what they have to say, be curious and find out. Don't hate them. Don't point fingers. Don't go rioting out in the street or whatever else. Um, don't spew hate. Don't judge. That causes more separation. So I'm thinking we're, we're being more of a hero um, to ourselves and really— and, and for others. Be a champion for others, right? Then the reason we're so disconnected, um, we've been distracted big time. And I'm not distracted anymore. And every time I overturn a rock, I'm like, oh my God, and another one, oh my God, I got all these rocks. And I'm not talking crystals. I guess in an analogy, or that, you know, more— I want to say ants. You overturn a rock and there's all these ants. I'm like, holy crap, where do I start, right? So I'm picking a few things and I'm going to do them very well. Um, I've even said I would never get into politics, but oh man, I tell you, I tell you, some days, some days I just, you know what, gonna clear the board. And I, I had said this to my MLA, I said we need to clear the board and start over again, start the foundation, you know. Think about what your forefathers— and I'm referencing the United States, thank you, you know, um, our brothers and sisters in the U.S., you know, freedom. Absolutely, I'm with you guys, right? So um, take a page from them. Take a page from them. Start with how— what you can do and the people that you can serve and the people that you can help. Hi, Alicia, so nice to see you. Thanks for being here. Thanks for showing up. I appreciate you. Yeah, and, um, if you know of anyone else, um, that would, you know, be interested in hearing this message, um, maybe you guys have been having the same type of conversations. Um, I know they're out there because I, I, like I said, I've got my feeler. I feel like an octopus too, in a way. I've got like, you know, they got the 8 arms, and trying to hold the base down takes tremendous non-attachment and tremendous love and tremendous prayer and tremendous meditation and yoga. And I mean, those are the things that keep me, um, centered and balanced and not swinging over to the left and not swinging over to the right. Stay right in the center. Because if you go— like they say, are you gonna go down with the Titanic? No, absolutely not. You've got all the warning signs. I mean, come on. They said, you know, actually, um, the, the man that built the, the ship or designed the ship, he was very, um, egotistical. Because I remember in the movie he said, oh, this ship, nothing can take down this ship. You just basically said, hey God, I bet you can't take this ship down. Hello. Anyways, oh man, yeah. Yeah, and she's saying what you're saying is true. Yeah, I've— I, I don't know about you, but when I'm driving, I tend to get so many amazing ideas, and I'll just start recording myself. I don't know if you guys do that, and I just go on what they call a rant, because sometimes it's good to just get it out, because it just— sometimes you get so much stuff going on in your head, you got to just let it out somewhere. So You know, what are some ways that you can channel that and channel it beautifully into a creative project or to help someone, you know, stand up for someone, fight for the little guy, like, you know, the hummingbirds, right? The trees that have been standing for thousands of years. I mean, when I went into that Avatar grove, that forest, I started crying. Honestly, um, yeah, I'll say it. I mean, I posted about it too, but I could feel the pain from the trees even though it was a protected area. You could hear the machinery around, and you don't think that they could feel that, the destruction of their fellow trees being torn down? And it was Bruce Colburn's song, If a Tree Falls in the Forest. He's a Canadian. Does anybody care? And I thought, you know, back in the '90s, you know, I'm young, I'm like, oh, that song's like, yeah, whatever. Oh geez, smack right in the face. It's in my face now. It's not whatever, because when you're dismissing something that is important, you're dismissing yourself. When you cut a tree down, you are cutting yourself down. When you pollute the oceans, you are polluting yourself. How is it any different? You can pretend and look away. It's still going to come around, just like all those, like Lysia would attest with some of her clients, you know, it comes back around. It keeps coming back around. Might show up in a different face or space, but it keeps coming back around. All right, so, um, it's basically looking, you know, with the work that I do, you're looking at everything at 360-degree level, um, and it's more than just the physicality, the spirituality, the emotional, um, the mental, um, it's relationships, it's money, it's, it's all intertwined. Yeah, let's just— just saying yes, it cycles until we consciously, yeah, shift it. Shift. Yeah, look at it instead of stuffing it. Look at it and let it move through us and go, I see you. I finally see you. I finally see it. It makes sense. Just, yeah, I, I believe I shared, um I think it was on my page, uh, the other day, just about, you know, um, getting off your soapbox, which I used to do a lot, like, and especially when I started my spiritual journey 4 years ago, my dark night of the soul, whatever you want to call it. I was preaching to everybody. I preached to the chipmunks if they would listen, and many times they didn't. So, um, I'm just saying the messenger can only deliver the message to those who are a vibrational match to the message, because everything is energy. So don't stress yourself out by saying things to people who can't hear you. Don't do it. It's a waste of time. It's a waste of energy. Um, and yeah, you're, you're, you might as well talk to the wall. Um, that, that type of analogy. So that's something I have learned. I mean, it took me a couple years to figure it out. But that one really, really resonated with people. And all of our problems exist here in the mind, and that's where they need to be healed. That's where they need to be healed, because we like to catastrophize everything. We like to make it all about ourselves. And, you know, the ego is, is always hurt and, and a brat and spoiled, right? And likes to drag you back down. So no, I'm just saying no, no more, no more. All right, so I am— oh, hi! Hello, Sherry, nice to see you. Thank you for being here. I believe you're— this is your first time here. Just when I seen you, I was like, oh, we just connected recently and here she is. Thank you so much for supporting the show. I, I really appreciate you. And yeah, if you want to let us know, you know, what you do for, you know, what's your passion, what's your purpose, you can share with us in the comments. What makes your heart sing? Um, what makes you go, yeah, you know what, you're just standing there and everything around you, like time has stopped, and you're like, this is why I'm here. Ever had one of those moments? I felt like that in that forest too. Um, like time stood still, and I got to see the world's gnarliest tree. And it was an epic tree. And people are like, why did you go there? I'm like, because I felt the call. Just like, you know, there's a book out there, um, Women Running with Wolves. You, you hear the call and you gotta go. And there was a reason I went there because I, I felt like I, I don't want to say it, but this might be the last time I see something like this in real time. That's all. And I'm also saying go for those experiences too. I mean, wherever you can, try and get out there and do things that make your heart sing. Um, I want to go horseback riding. I haven't done that in a very long time. I love horses. Highly spiritual. If there were elephants, I would— me and elephants, you know, we would, we would be together as well. So, um, yeah, Sherry's just saying nature, animals, and being open to counseling opportunities. Yay! Yeah, I love that too. Nature, animals, they're, they're my jam, definitely. And I'm also noticing that the children too, the children are heroes. They teach us so much, and just watching them play and be themselves. They don't care. And I'm like, that's what we need to do. We, we need to act like we don't care, meaning like no one's watching, and we can be ourselves and really encapsulate every moment and presence in every moment of everything, whether it's amazing or not so amazing. You gotta, you gotta feel it all. Um, and I definitely feel like we're, we're being called to do that more and more. So yes, yes, and, and Sherry is saying yes, children. So let me know if anybody has questions. If you're struggling with anything, do you need guidance? How can we collectively help you and raise the global vibrations? I, I'm always asking because I, I'm very curious. I mean Um, it's— everybody has a different perspective on what they might be struggling with. Then we could connect them with someone else. That's the whole idea of this, um, community. This is a community. This is a 24 Karat Healing Community. People always go, wow, that's a cool name! How'd you come up with that? I'm like, I like, uh, play on words. And we all know gold is— well, especially right now with metals and all that Highly, highly valuable, but amazing in the healing realm as well. But that's another show. I mean, talking about cryptocurrencies and all of that, I could talk about that for days, but I'm still learning. So maybe you can share with me what you think about that, about precious metals and Bitcoin and all that. So, ah, it's always good to diversify. Yeah, children are absolutely magical. Um, they know what's going on. I love, you know, back in the day I remember, you know, I'd ask my mom something and she'd be like, oh, don't worry about it. Um, no, that's not it. And I'm thinking, yeah, it is. Like, I could— I was a big lie detector. I could tell right away. So that should have been a big, um, uh, sign for me that yes, you're highly intuitive. But it was dismissed a lot because you don't talk about that. In fact, my grandmother would have been hung back in the day because she made potions and all that, so she was a witch. But that's, you know, the way of keeping that feminine, intuitive, we know, we know that we know side of us down, right? Keeping the man down, as they say. Yeah, at least you're— Lisha's just saying it's a good question, so maybe I just throw that out in the field and it'll come back when it's ready. Right? Embodying my new level. I'm not struggling, but I could use some energy support as I step up. Absolutely, I'd love to support you in that as well, and anyone else that might need a little boost, as they say. She just bought her first crypto. Yes, yeah, we're, we're planning on buying silver, um, that, that's where we're going, and then of course a little bit of crypto too, so Amazing. That's amazing. See, I'm not the only one that's thinking about these things, right? So the more we talk about this stuff instead of being asked, you know, or scared to ask, right? And, um, yeah, so that's pretty much the show, the whole premise of it. Um, I welcome any more questions. Um, if you know of someone that is amazing, or you want to share their story, or maybe they wrote a book, send them my way. The more that we share, the, the better we— you know, my— as my good friend Paul Bogie would say, Care Bear Share, right? Do you dare to share and be a Care Bear? That's what he's saying. Um, really? Yeah, he's an amazing guy. I, I think it was, yeah, one of my first shows. That was a couple years ago. But, um, he does, um Yeah, Reiki, Dragon Reiki and all that. So he's a fun, fun dude in the UK. Um, yeah, so this Saturday we will not have, but it is free, an Unleash Your Soul's Purpose on Zoom. And that happens every Saturday at 10 AM, and it is a safe space for healers, mystics, seers, lightworkers, wayshowers, empaths mediums, psychics. I'm including them all. So if you're interested in the link and where to sign up, just comment soul and I will send you the link. And the only reason it's not available is because we have this coming up. Um, where's the graphic? There it is, the Christ Consciousness Summit. It is happening all weekend. Well, not all weekend. I am human, by the way, just so you know. Saturday, May 1st and Sunday, May 2nd, 10 AM to 3 PM Pacific, and it will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube. We also have a Facebook page called Christ Consciousness Summit, so you can join there too. And one of the guests who's actually here with us, Lysia Antiqua, she's a trauma transformer. Try and say that quickly 10 times. So I'm just going to go through, um, yeah, Saturday's show here. And just amazing, you've got Kira, she's a trigong healer. Laura is a medium and soul channel. Linnea is a meditation master. I'm in there as well. And of course, you know, Christ, God, Source. Tabitha is a beautiful singing lightworker. And Ray does angelic future life progression. And I've actually taken, uh, gone through a couple of her sessions, and she's pretty fabulous. Same with Kira and her Trigong healing, um, Tabitha as well. And then on, on Sunday, there's, there's Lisha, there's Julia. She's an ascension guide. I did work with Julia, um, Earth Day Summit. I was a guest last year, and that was, that was a lot of fun because I love nature and love animals, so it was all about that. She's going to be with me later. We're going to talk more about Christ consciousness Um, Georgie Dan is a Celestial Channel. Sonia Frontera is an empowerment trainer, and Kelly Connell is a Soul Life Coach. So look at all this beautiful wisdom. Many of these ladies were part of the 5D Summit last year, so I'm so excited. Um, let me know if you'd like the link. Um, just comment Christ Consciousness or Summit and I'll get you the link. Either way. All right, so I'm going to take that down. There we go. Just catching up on more comments. Oh, and Lisha's just saying she has silver and gold too. Amazing. Yes. Oh, hi Marsha! Yes, come and join us on Saturdays for Sharing and Caring. Thank you, Marsha, for always being a wonderful supporter. Sending lots of love to you, uh, wherever you guys are. And, uh, yeah, that's it. I want you to have an amazing week. You will see me, of course, later tonight. I'll be back again with my special guest Julia. And as well, this weekend we'll see you Saturday and Sunday. And please remember, healing begins where the ego ends. Take care.
