In this YouTube episode, spiritual guide Christine J. Gold introduces "the purge," a process of grieving and releasing one’s old identity after a spiritual awakening. She explains that the purge involves emotional, energetic, and physical residue from past selves—manifesting as unexplained crying, exhaustion, nostalgia, and grief for former relationships and choices. Christine shares her own painful journey, recalling how she used food, alcohol, and people to mask trauma, and how she confronted the guilt of silencing her voice. She frames the purge as an act of honor rather than weakness, likening it to fire that cleanses. The core of the episode offers concrete, ritual‑based practices: sage smudging, burning letters, water immersion, Epsom‑salt baths, moon water, intermittent fasting, high‑quality Celtic salt, dancing, shaking, creating a sacred space, and lighting candles. She ties these actions to spiritual concepts such as intergenerational trauma, soul hygiene, death before resurrection, and the eventual rebirth akin to Jesus’ resurrection. Christine urges viewers to allow themselves unrestricted grief—crying, sleeping, unplugging from toxic influences—without justification, emphasizing that the process is essential for spiritual maturity. The episode concludes with a call for audience interaction (comments, private sharing) and a teaser for the next episode on sacred rebirth.

Hi beautiful souls, I'm Christine J Gold and welcome to Episode 5, The Purge: Grieving the Old Self. This episode is tender, it's emotional, it's a space not often talked about in spiritual circles. Because after you've heard the call, endured the breakdown, and sat in the void, and faced your shadows, you come to this— grief. Not of someone else's, but of yourself, the you, you used to be. What is the purge? The purge is when you begin releasing the energetic, emotional, and physical residue of your old self. You may cry for days without knowing why. You may feel exhausted. Detached or nostalgic for things you no longer want. You may grieve your relationships. Oh yes, your past choices. Oh, there's lots of those. Your younger self. Oh, if I was only 21 again, who simply did her best to survive. And not just her, but his or they or them. I'm including everyone in this, please. And that grief is not weakness. Oh boy, no, it is honoring. You are self-aware and you're wanting to be responsible and accountable, which is completely missing from a lot of spiritual circles. And you were not purging because you failed. You were purging because you were healing. Yes, take that time for yourself. It is so sacred because you've ran around avoiding it for so long, and now you get to celebrate who you truly are at a soul level, and it's amazing. My personal purge. I remember grieving the version of me that smiled through abuse. Or I'd be really angry just to push through things. The one who used food and alcohol and people to distract from my pain. I had to sit with the guilt of not knowing better. I had to forgive the times I abandoned my own voice to keep the peace. Oh, the blessing and the curse of the empath, I tell you. There were days I couldn't stop crying, days I didn't recognize myself in the mirror. But I knew this was the fire. Fire has been around since the dawn of man, not to destroy me but to cleanse me. Yes, burning away things that no longer serve. I saged. Oh boy, did I sage. I sobbed. I danced. I screamed. Oh, I did. I sang. I wrote letters and I burned them. And slowly I began to feel lighter. And I wrote a book about it too. That was just part of it. Honoring the grief. If you're in the purge, let me say this: you're doing it right. Yes, keep going. You are releasing years, lifetimes, and I will say intergenerational trauma across all timelines, back 7, forward 7, of stored pain, shame, guilt, fear. Let yourself grieve without needing to justify it, without rushing through it, Cry, sleep, lots of sleep and rest and naps. Unfollow, unsubscribe, yes, spam, block, you name it. Clean out the closet, break the contract, the soul's contract, whatever it is. Maybe this was written before your time and it was never broken from a parent, a grandparent, a great-great-grandparent, auntie, whatever it was. Burn the old journals too. This is soul hygiene. This is spiritual maturity. This is death before resurrection. I mean, I think about Jesus, you know, nailed to the cross. Everybody talks about that, how terrible it was. He was bleeding. But no, no one— we need to talk more about the resurrection, when he was— he came back from the dead. Yes, that's you, that is you. So let's talk about how to purge consciously. And 85% of your subconscious is developed before the age of 30, so there's a lot of unraveling to do, right? Drinking lots of water, Lots of it. You're moving energy as well. I, I would say find yourself a high-quality Celtic salt. Detox is huge as well, right? And you know, I practice intermittent fasting. Fasting is a piece of this as well. Start slowly, of course. Write and release. Burn, rip, bury. Let the tears flow. Get into bodies of water as well. Water is very cleansing. Epsom salt bath. Maybe you're making moon water. Maybe you're having a moon or water shower, a ritual release in the shower, washing away, imagining those rainbow energies cleansing your aura and who you are, and down into the drain and with Mother Earth. She knows what to do with it. Move your body, dance, tremble, stretch, shake. Yes, shake it off. Create, have a sacred ritual, create a sacred space in your home, a Zen den where you feel most at home, most relaxed. Maybe it's in your backyard, maybe it's in a park, maybe it's gardening. Whatever it is, you got to have a space for yourself with quiet reflection. Light a candle for who you used to be. So tell me in the comments or share with me privately, what part of the old self are you grieving today? What part of your old self are you grieving today? And the next episode is all about the sacred rebirth, becoming who you truly are at a soul level.
