Ask your ??? #livingabroad #expat #nomadiclife" (uploaded May 20, 2024). The excerpt is a first-person monologue (single speaker) about rising costs of living in North America—difficulty affording housing, food, and utilities—and growing interest in emigrating. The speaker describes communities moving abroad, outlines ancestry-based routes to Europe (they plan to pursue Austrian lineage to obtain a European passport), and mentions interest in relocating to Spain, Portugal, or parts of South America with large expat communities.

Keep hearing about how things are becoming more expensive. I can't afford to live here. I can't buy a home. I can't afford food. I can't afford, you know, electricity, utilities. And I'm seeing more and more people, and I'm part of quite a few communities that are moving abroad, outside of Canada, outside of North America. And it is possible. There's so many ways to get into other countries. You know, I think the biggest one, especially if you want to go to Europe, is finding, um, ancestry there— grandparents, great-grandparents. I have lineage in Austria, so that's the route I'm going. I'm going to go get my visa, my European passport, um, because eventually I'd like to live in Spain or Portugal. It's very inexpensive, but also South America, um, despite, you know, there's tons of expats there.
