Single-speaker YouTube monologue (April 3, 2024) comparing recurring technology hype—AI, data warehousing—with the speaker's claim that cybersecurity is materially different. The speaker contends cybersecurity is a concrete, widely-recognized business problem (citing business email compromise) and calls it the current "wedge issue" rather than merely another trend.

Been seeing lots of news stories on AI is going to change everything, right? Back in the day, it used to be data warehousing is going to change everything. There's always this big trend. But what I want to share with you that's so different now is cyber security, and the fact that cyber security is the wedge issue. It's not an artificial trend. So many times in the technology business, we've seen it time and time again where, where companies particularly are pushing something. They're pushing something. They just need to educate the market. Well, the market doesn't need to be educated about cybersecurity risk. Okay? Now, people may be in denial about what's going on, but they know it's a problem because everybody who owns a business today can tell you what a business email compromise is.
