Chris Wiser addresses MSP owners and IT professionals, arguing they have a professional duty to provide clients the best possible security solutions ("the right stack") rather than promising to prevent every hack. He emphasizes acting to avoid negligence by installing proper protections and frames the obligation using analogies to other professional services.
It is our job, it is our duty as MSP owners, professionals, experts whatever you want to call yourself. It is our job to put in what the client should have. Think about going to the doctor, to the dentist and you know to the to the lawyer any professional services industry. Do you want the good? Do you want the best? And if I ask any IT professional if you had unlimited budget every single client what would you put in what we put in the best so we know and you know what the best is what should the client have to properly protect? Because keep in mind we can't prevent any hacks anymore. We have to do our best now not to prevent hacks, not to tell our clients that we got their back that we're guaranteeing it because you can't guarantee anything, we know that. So you have to do your best now to show that you were not negligent which includes putting in the right stack.
