Okay, so tell me about eyebrows. When did you start and why do you keep it going? Um, what do you do to keep your eyebrows clean?
My eyebrows clean?
Yes.
Hi, I'm Shandria and my hair removal process is eyebrows.
Um, I started back in grade school. A friend of mine could not stand my eyebrows.
So what I usually do, I get them, well, waxed.
You do wax?
Like once every month and a half.
6 weeks?
Yes, but let me tell you the trick.
At all, she finally pulled me aside one day and was like, here, lean your head back. And she grabbed her tweezers out of her makeup bag and just went to plucking.
I get my eyebrows, my lip, and my chin threaded. I used to be a man. I'm kidding, but I'm extremely hairy.
And from that point on, when I saw them, I was like, oh wow.
It just changed my whole outlook. So plucking stuck?
Plucking stuck.
You still pluck?
I still pluck. I don't do anything else. I've never got my eyebrows threaded. I've never shaved.
And it doesn't hurt you?
It does not hurt me.
I pluck the hair that's growing back in, and I get an eyebrow pencil, and I kind of color it in to like make it seem like it's sharp and clean.
So you found a way around the system.
Yes, ma'am. And saving some money.
So I have to get that done every week. So I get it threaded, and it hurts so bad.
I'm not even gonna lie.
It hurts. And I pretend like everybody else at the threading store, threading shop, that it doesn't hurt. So I lay there and I'm silently weeping.
'Cause that's my whole thing. It costs too much money. It's another routine I can't afford.
Absolutely. So I clean it up, just add the red, you know. And Jesse, my fiancé, thinks that I get 'em done probably like twice, maybe 3 times a month. But it's the eyebrow pencil, it's the key.
Okay, and so how do you know what shape to keep your eyebrows in?
It's gotten better after doing them on my own. I'm not saying I started out great with the plucking, but it's been a process. You know, a process, yeah. After watching a few YouTube videos.
How do you know what shape? Like, there's so many different shapes for eyebrows. Some people shave it all the way off and redraw it. Some people barely take anything off at all. Like, how do you know what shape it's supposed to be?
You know what? Honestly, I just kind of go with the hair.
I have to get it done every week because it's supposed to last longer, but you know, I'm so hairy that when I get it done on Saturday, by Tuesday I have a unibrow and a full beard.
You get better. Practice makes perfect. Just know that you may have a few not good eyebrows along the way. Yes, you will have some bad days. I'm sorry, but they grow back. They grow back.
So it's like an unknown thing. It's kind of— so it's as long as it's not crooked, I just kind of follow the hair and just say, "Mm-hmm." I've done threading and waxing.
I prefer threading. They both hurt.
Waxing is a quick pain and threading is one by And then after, I mean, I make sure it matches up.
Yes. This is very— this is good information for me.
Does it look like they've been done?
Oh girl, your eyebrows are always rocking.
In about a week.
It's been a month. Yeah. Okay, well, you're my eyebrow idol.
Sweet.
It's all good.
Well, your eyebrows are always rocking, so I wanted to ask you about that.
Thank you.
I still need my personal consultation. I'm still undecided about how I'm gonna attack them.
Girl, just call me. Just a text, phone call away, I will definitely come assist.
It gives my brow a better definition, so I prefer that. So even though it's painful, even though I silently weep, it's all about beauty.
