Coffee with Chrystal | Updates, Fun & Foolery, and Rhythm Resets

Chrystal Hurst teaches rhythmic living: building small, consistent habits that align your daily actions with your goals and faith. She uses personal stories about budgeting, morning routines, and her son learning dollar-cost averaging to show how intentional rhythms affect relationships, finances, and spiritual growth. Start with one tiny change, automate it, then expand.

Why?
Because the Bible says says let the older women teach the younger women, or the women that are a little bit ahead tell the women that are behind them about the pit— the potholes and the pitfalls. That's what we're trying to do in this world. So I'm glad that you're in the room. This is a good time if you're going to tell your girlfriend, your friend, your cousin, your mom and them, your sister and them, Chrystal's on. Go ahead and tell them, share the link. We're going to be on today for roughly about an hour and and then Inner Circle girls, I will take you into our Inner Circle party because I have some specific things that I need to tell you. Today is special not only because it's the first Monday of the year, not only because it is our opportunity on a first Monday to have some fun and foolery mixed with some faith-based teaching, but it is also because I'm still praying about it, I'm still thinking about it, I'm still asking the Lord what is he saying. But I do know that this is the last public Monday for a minute. I don't know how long a minute will be. I am trying to walk things out in obedience, and I am in a 7th year of the Inner Circle membership, which means we want to, um, let the land lie fallow. I'm not going to repeat what I said because it's in the video that I released last Sunday night. It says where I'm going to be in 2026. If you have not yet watched that video. You want to watch that video? What's wrong with the— what's wrong with the video? I'm on the wrong camera. That explains so much. Can I please fix my life? Look at God. I was looking at it and thinking, why do I— why don't I look all cheery? And why am I in the wrong— thank you, thank you.
Look at God.
Okay, so I'm glad you're here because we're going to make the most of our opportunity together, and then And then, um, there you go. Um, now this video today, this live stream today is going to stay up, um, for I think 24, 48 hours. The teaching will continue to stay up, uh, ongoingly, but we're going to come back and chop off this beginning part. So enjoy the beginning part. If you have to leave, come back and watch it because it won't stay up all ways. Okay, okay, so let's start out with some, some things I need to tell you. Let me first of all tell you, let me start out with this. And just let me know when you're ready to airdrop. I will, I will take whatever, whatever you want to give, y'all. Let's just first of all say, um, I'm gonna start, I'm gonna come in hot if that's okay with you. And if I look a little bit like I woke up, I just did. I put on makeup in a second, y'all. Bear with me. Praise the Lord, saints. Okay, so what had happened was, y'all, the holidays ate my lunch this year. And I wouldn't even say that it's because I really did anything. Actually, the opposite is true. I did nothing because it ate my lunch. But here's, here's, here's what doing nothing revealed. What doing nothing revealed is the, the, the areas— Jesus, help me— of entitlement. Um, it revealed the areas of assumption. It revealed the areas of who you think you talking to. It revealed the areas of, um, um, it, it revealed some things. And the thing is, like I always I always say it out loud to my children. There are two versions of me. There is the nice Chrystal who is just for you. She homeschooled, baked bread, grew tomatoes in the backyard, cloth diapered y'all's tails, really just want to be there for you. It was gentle parenting before gentle parenting existed, even though we know y'all millennials are done with that. We know that. Um, but the reality is like, I was never fully gentle, but I was, you know, I was in my homeschool mommy So, um, yeah, now, nope, I, I— there's the other version of Chrystal, um, and I tell my children, don't push the buttons because if she comes out, I can't help you. I can't help you. She's gonna have to have her way with you. Whatever happens, y'all can tell me when I show back up. But Crazy Chrystal— let's just say that Crazy Chrystal made a full-blown, full-blown appearance, and she's still kind of peeking out from behind the door. I'm trying to get— I'm trying to get her to act right. She doesn't want to act right. But y'all, I, I just— I'm not, I'm not tired from the holidays. I just, I just was catapulted into Crazy Chrystal land unexpectedly, and Crazy Chrystal took over the whole thing. She took over the whole thing. So, um, this is, this is about how I know some of y'all, some of y'all made it through intact, in one piece. You are feeling, you know, in your own skin. And then there are some of us that are more like— that are more like, um, this. Some of y'all are like, this is me, this was me rolling out of 2025 because God chose me to be one of his strongest soldiers. And you are wearing all of the battle marks, all of the battle marks. Anybody? Does this apply to anybody? I just want to know, just saying. Mm-hmm. Some of us are in that situation. Others of us, you know, came out, came out unscathed. Scathed, uh, but we— for many of us, we are unscathed but also unfunded. Can we also be honest about that? Unscathed but unfunded. Okay, buy a car? No, buy a carrot. Okay, uh, save $25,000? How about no, save $25? Live a happy life? How about I just live? Um, okay, buy a new phone case because I sure can't buy a new phone. And will I start my own business? I don't think so. I don't think so. I don't know about starting up— starting my own business. How about mind my own business? Does anybody else feel that? Is anybody else resonating with that in your spirit, y'all? Money is dumb. Money is absolutely, positively dumb, okay? And this is what we really want to do in our lives. This is what I want to do. I believe Jesus paid it all. He really did. All to him I owe. He did. He paid it all for me. But I wish I could monetize the cross, do you know what I'm saying? I want— I wanna— I mean, I, I believe that you know, yes, I'm blessed beyond measure. Everybody say blessed. That was like 3 different keys, but you understood what I was doing. Say blessed. Yeah, okay, y'all, but I'm not, I'm not kidding when I wish that I could just take, take the Bible and monetize the Bible. Not use Jesus, not use Jesus, but, but, you know, the, the riches of his glory and, you know that God has created everything and that from him and to him are all things and that he owns a cattle on a thousand hills. The essence of that, the essence of that, I would love to be able to do something like this.
Bible pay here?
Yeah, Bible pay. Can I try it? Let me see. Did it work?
It did.
You know why? Because Jesus paid it all.
Come on, hallelujah!
God bless you. Come on, give him glory. He paid it, he paid it. Hallelujah! Y'all, don't we wish? Don't we wish that this is how things happen sometimes? Just, you know, just, you know, we just want a little bit. Jesus, can you just leave a little bit on the fringes over here? Can I just gather some from the edges? Can I just— this is what we're out here doing, y'all. Um, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, y'all doing that? Inner Circle girls, y'all gonna put me out to dry like that? You go— you're gonna— you're gonna— you, you, you, you coming at me like that? See, this is why I can't tell y'all stuff in the secret place, because then y'all come out in public and you want to act out. That's all right, I'll deal with you in a second. And no, it is still in the bag unopened. Okay, okay. All right, praise the Lord, saints. Y'all, this is where we are at, um, and I want to just say before I share some BTS of the family situations, um, that I am truly, truly, truly, truly, truly, truly grateful for the season that we just had. And I also am reminded— I am reminded that, um, the season is so commercialized, it's so marketed, it's so all the things. And we really gotta just make decisions about what we're doing to keep our sanity and to keep our savings intact. So if you've ended up on this side of the year, on this new side of the year, feeling a little bit out of words. That's okay, that's okay. Um, but, uh, we, we want to, we want to, we want to move forward from that. So a couple of things that I want to share with you before I share some BTS. Numero uno. Can somebody in the church say numero uno? Okay, praise the Lord, saints. Numero uno. Um, as I just mentioned to you, uh, the inner circle is going to close. It's going to close January the 12th, Monday. So a week from today, the, the Inner Circle will close, and it will close for the year. Like, the year. And so, um, there's a lot of reasons behind that. And like I mentioned to you before, there's a whole video— I'll even bring it up so I can show you— there's a whole video on YouTube that explains the why and the all the things. There is a, there is a reason for it. So if you go to my YouTube channel, it's right here, right there. This one right there says, here's where I'll be in 2026. That one, that's the one you want to watch. It's a whole 24 minutes. Okay. But I am very, very, very, very, very, very excited about build our journey in the Inner Circle this year. I want to focus on the women who are in the room. Um, the theme for this year is abundance and overflow. Um, and abundance and overflow, does it involve money? Sure, yes, it involves money. But is it about money? No, it's not. It is about your mindset, your capacity, the way you operate. It is about the setup for that to occur. It is about what God thinks about overflow, abundance, and blessing, why he gives it, what you're supposed to do when he does, how do you prepare yourself for it. So my goal is to be, as always, uh, both spiritually supportive and also practically, um, um, practically useful as well. So, uh, even today, what we're going to talk about today is to be spiritually useful but practically applicable so you can do something. The Bible says in James that you're not You're not supposed to just be a hearer of the word. You're supposed to be a doer of the word. And I'm convinced that many of us are in trouble because we go to church, we hear, uh, we do not do, uh, we do not do. We want God to enlarge our territory and pray, pray the prayer of Jabez, but we will not quit put, put up the credit card. You know, we, we want God to, uh, to, to, to bring us into greener pastures, but we won't take care of our front doorstep. We won't take care of what we have. And God is like, listen, he who is faithful in little can be trusted with much. I mean, there are principles to overflow and abundance that you have to understand, and then there are principles about who you are and then what you do with what he gives you. And so we want to multiply our efforts. God is a God of multiplication. Um, seed— the seed principle is all throughout scripture. And, and you are— you've been implanted with a seed. God has put something in you that he wants you to steward. And that also is abundance and overflow. So I'm super excited about it. Um, how many times am I going to be releasing videos? Not, not live, because live is paused for, for, for— we will see. It may, it may be, um, maybe a month, it may be 6 months. I'm just not sure. I'm listening. My ears are to the ground. But, um, how many times am I going to release the videos on Sunday? That also is— we're gonna see. We're— I'm still— those are two things that still ears to the ground on. And over the next few weeks, we definitely will be quiet outside, not inside the inner circle. And in those weeks, hopefully I will be able to make sure that you have all the deets that you need to have. So what's important for you to know is that you want to make sure you're on the email list because that'll be the way that you hear from me without all the videos and the podcast and all the things. So there there's two— there are two ways for you to join it, but I'm going to give you this one because that'll allow me to talk about two things at one time. So this is a 5-Day Rhythm Reset. It's free. When you put in your name and your email right there, you will get the 5-Day Rhythm Reset, but you will also now be on my email list. Okay, so that'll make sure if I have something important to say, you get it. Now, over the holidays, it's been a lot of emails. I cannot wait. Do you hear me? I cannot wait for the next 2 weeks to be over so that we can stop sending all these emails. But, um, I promise you, in general, we don't spam. We send an email once or twice a week. So go ahead and get that. That way you'll make sure that you hear about everything, and you'll get this 5-Day Rhythm Reset. So I created this the weekend in between Christmas and New Year's because I had an idea and I had time. And so I answered a question a lot of people will ask about rhythms and routines and kind of how you, you know, what do you do in the morning? What do you do in the evening? How do you establish your week? How do you have the rhythm so that you're just not feeling like you're all over the place? So that is a primer to establishing rhythms and resetting the rhythms in your life and doing that over 5 days. And it's free and it's easy and all that. So I want you to get that. It's a 5-day rhythm reset. And when you do that, you'll be on the email list. So then you'll know know what all the things are going to be doing. Okay, um, so I've already mentioned to join the Inner Circle. Emily, if you are not in the Inner Circle and you're like, yeah, Chrystal, I'm gonna go ahead and try it— I want to make it easy for you. Um, Emily, you can put the link, my link to the Inner Circle, in the chat. This link will give you 50% off, so the first month. So if you were like, you know what, I'm gonna try the club— the club is, um, $19. This coupon makes the first full month of the Inner Circle, also $19. So then you can try it and kind of poke around and see all the things. Okay, so we'll drop that in the link for you. I've already told you about the Rhythm Reset. Okay, there's a couple of things I'm going to come back to later, but let me pause right here and share some BTS. Well, he's muted for them. Um, oh, he's not? He was? Okay. Um, all right, thank you. Praise the Lord, saints. Okay, sounds good, sounds good. All right, y'all, um, there were, when I checked 15 minutes ago, 3— count them, 1, 2, 3 3, um, evergreen planners in the store. So if you meant to get a green one, go right now. Right now. Are you ready?
Are you ready? Ready, set, go!
Are you ready? Get ready. Are you ready? Ready, set, go. Are you ready? Get ready. Are you ready? Ready, set, go. Ready for this and I play to win. Came a long way from the place we've been. Mind on the go while they whispering. I've been putting in work much. There are 3— there were 3. I don't know how many there are right now. Um, so in between Christmas and New Year's, I got to go to my— one of my favorite places. And I just want to say to you that if you feel like you started the year a little harried, a little bothered, a little over the top, it is not too late for you to press pause. Don't believe the lies. Don't believe the lies that, oh well, the year has begun and you're late. There is no such thing. There is no hard start in January. January is about soft entry. This is what you have to tell yourself. Soft entry. So you get to wherever you need to go and you do whatever you have to do to enter the year the way you need to enter the year. Okay, if you needed a blessing, I'm going to share a little bit of the blessing my father shared with us on New Year's Day, so you can take this one as your own. Oh no, that's not the blessing. Hold, I'm gonna come back to that one. Hold, please hold. I saw Poppy's name and assumed that that was it. No, I sent you that one too. It should be in there. Let's see.
Hold on.
You don't recall that one? Oh no, you don't recall one of him standing in the middle of the living room? No, I didn't get that. Okay, well, we'll, we'll come back to that one. I'll share the blessing. I'll just pull it off my phone. This is fun. Also in between. On your mark, family fun, get set, go! Go! Go, Roxy, go! Go, Roxy! Tyler, what are you doing? I'm going easy on her. Don't rock the camera. Yeah, I did see y'all. I have it on video. Red light.
Oh man.
Green light. Red light. Okay, this is, you know, this is me forcing fun. I was like, y'all gonna get off them screens if it kills me, we gonna play some games. Red light, green light, here we go. So we did have a lot of that. Um, we also, uh, just this past weekend had the opportunity to go visit some friends. So this is me. And listen, there's a difference between going to like an indoor, um, an indoor go-kart place and like an outdoor in the sticks in Arkansas go-kart place. When you go out in the, in the wild like that and the go-karts go 55 miles an hour, be afraid for your life. You want to know why? Because Chrissy drives like a bat out of Hades on a regular. So don't ask me how I drive when I'm out there on in go-kart. Y'all, it was like death by cart, but amazing. And it made me go, oh my goodness, yes, I can choose something fun that my sons want to do. Because most of the time they don't want to do anything fun. They are like bumps and sticks on a log. They're like, Mom, why do we have to do this? How long do we have to make this puzzle? What— when do we have to play? You know, how long do we have to play this game? And I was like, I finally won. I finally— I finally Only one took them go-karting. This is what you need. You need a track that actually is like a mile long, and you need to get out there and risk your life. If you haven't risked your life lately, what are you doing with your life? What are you doing? You know, just every now and then you just need to live on the edge. So we did this with some friends of ours, uh, we met 10 years ago when I was speaking in Arkansas. Arkansas, and they are the most— while y'all are in Arkansas, y'all are going to do Arkansas things people. It is amazing. So we always have a good time with them. We also— it was so funny because my boys who don't want to play games, they don't want to play games with me, they don't want to do anything with me. I, I'm whack in their opinion. They all of a sudden had a great time playing games. So, so maybe it's me. Maybe I'm the problem. Maybe, maybe, maybe it's me. Maybe, maybe I'm the reason why they don't enjoy their lives. Because when I say let's play a game, I mean literally I have to threaten them within an inch of their lives to put down their devices to come play with me. Come play a game with me. Uh, how long do we have to do this? Blah blah blah blah blah. So anyway, this is your— this is your— you want to send me that other blessing video? This is your, um, invitation to the year to enter slowly and gently and to still have some fun. To still have some fun, okay? Because life is short and we should have fun, and nobody said that the fun had to stop just because it was January the fifth. Okay, okay, okay. Try one more time, cuz I want to, I want to bless the people. I really do. All right, we're going to try one more time, and if it doesn't, I can move it over myself. All right, let's see. Where's my mouse? Okay, there we go. Save to downloads. It worked All right, here comes the blessing. I'm sharing a Tony Evans blessing with you all because it's a good one. Oh no, hold on, let me turn it up so you can hear it. All of a sudden my sound doesn't want to work. Hold, please, make sure you can hear this. Blessed to be a blessing, and that you will experience God's favor in 2026, his kindness, his goodness, in spite of what we don't know will happen in this upcoming year. We don't know what the year will hold. Every year holds good and bad and trouble and challenges and also joys and celebrations. You have bursts, you have losses. Every year has ups and downs like a roller coaster. But no matter what the up and downs are, we want God's favor to rise above it and to have his presence. And so he says in conclusion a number of things. This is the deal, y'all. This year, I know it's really low. I don't know what happened with the video. It wasn't working, so I, I pushed it so you could hopefully see it. Could you hear it good enough? This is the last thing that he said. The year is going to have ups and downs, but what you want to operate with is God's favor. Let me explain something to you about abundance. Abundance and blessing is an— a, a, um, is God's favor in your life. And there are some seasons where you have God's favor and you don't feel it. And then there are some seasons in your life where God's favor opens up the windows of heaven and pours you out a blessing, whether that's financial or whether it is relational, whether it is peace giving, whether it is God's provision. Um, God, God's favor is always at work in your life, just like the sun is always shining even on a cloudy day. But what you want to operate with is you being in the right position, which is always involving obedience to receive his favor. So one of the things that we're going to be doing this year, uh, in the Inner Circle is reading through the Bible. Don't fret, it's January 5th, you're not late because we ain't started yet. We are going to use a chronological Bible reading plan. We kick off our Inner Circle next Sunday night, so the doors close on Monday night, but we kick things off on, on Sunday night, and we will be, uh, reading through the Bible. We're going to take the whole year to do it, so that way if you fall behind, it's easy to catch Kasha. You do not have to read through the Bible. We have lots of things happening in the Inner Circle that you can opt in or opt out of. It's kind of like the cafeteria plan. I show up every Monday, fun and foolery, teaching. You have the full-length replay availability of that, and then there are other things you just pick and choose. But that's one of the options that we're going to have this year, and I'll talk more about that soon. Um, um, oh I wanted to, before I jump to something else that's important, I'm gonna give some announcements, and then I have a guest that I want to share with you briefly, and then I'll do a teaching. So this morning is full, full, full, full. So last night I was up really late, y'all. I took my Write It Down guide that I had done my work in, you know, I did all my work. I took my, my work from my Write It Down guide All right, I took my planner from last year. Okay, I was up late and I got my planner for this year and I have— I'm, I'm still transposing everything and making it pretty, but I am officially visioned I'm officially visioned for 2026. It's a little bit messier than I wanted it to be, but we're not about pretty, we're about vision and direction. My— got my areas of focus here, good to go. Yay. Um, but my vision board is still bare because I'm finding all my clip part. I'm still finding it, but I did, I did cheat a little bit and I created this vision board in Canva. So I'm replacing the pictures with me, the things I'm going to do in 2026. So I'm working on it, and I realize that y'all, the planners may not be in some of y'all's budget. So here's what we're about to do. We're about to give one away. We're about to give one away. I don't think that was on the list, but we are going to give Okay, I'm gonna give away 3 things today. I'm gonna give away a planner. I'm gonna give away a membership to the Inner Circle, and I'm gonna give away a cohort. That's a big deal. I'll tell y'all about that in just a second. Um, so, uh, Emily, you could just pick somebody from the chat for this. Um, I realize that everybody can't get one, hasn't been able to get one. That's okay, you're going to join the ranks of the planner people. That's what we're going to do. You're going to join the ranks of the planner people. So in the chat, I just need you to put this one thing, and then we will choose from that person. All right, what about— okay, the one thing you are leaving behind in 2025. One thing. One thing. Okay, we'll give you a few minutes to drop that in the chat while we talk about the next giveaway. Um, this is a great time to join the Inner Circle for the year. If you join the year, you get 3 months— 3 months, yeah, 3 months free. If you want to join monthly, you can do that, but if you want to just get out of the way and save some money, you can do that. Inner Circle, Inner Circle, we're gonna let y'all run with the planner for just second. Uh, while we all are doing that, let me explain the cohort. Uh, the cohort is for communicators, and, um, you will actually have to email us. So this is writers, speakers, content creators, podcasters, all those people. You're going to have to email us if you would like to be in. This is a value of $997, okay? Um, but you need to email us hello@chrystalevanshurst.com and tell us why you would be a good fit for the cohort, and we will choose from there. If you need more information about the cohort, you can simply go to thesistercircle.com/cohort, and all the information that you need will be right there if you need to learn more. But you send us an email, hello@chrystalevanshurst.com, telling me why you would be a great fit. Okay, I'm ready for the planner winner. It looks like Leshia Fine, the 3027. L-E-S-H-I-A F-Y-N-E 3027. Okay, okay, that's the planner. Mm-hmm. Okay, you're gonna email me for the cohort. Okay, now for the Inner Circle. Inner circle, why you feel like you need to be on the inside. That's simple. Why do you feel like you need to be on the inside? And we'll pick a winner from the chat on today.
Okay.
All right, while we wait for that, I want to tell you where we're going next. So I wanted to do two things today, two teaching things today. One of them is I'm going to talk to you about establishing your rhythm rhythms and your— and, and just your, your routine so that your days flow smoother. This is a great time to do that. I want to talk to you about that. Um, before I do that, remember I told you we're going to be reading through the Bible in the Inner Circle, and I have a gift for you today. If you are in the Inner Circle, you've got one version of this gift. If you are not in the Inner Circle, you still get a gift, but it is a little bit different than my Inner Circle girls. So I'm going to invite a gentleman to join me today to talk to you about a program called Lagos. Logos. Logos. Lagos. Scott is going to get me right. Um, this is going to be a great tool for you to use when you study your Bible. Now, before I bring him on, let me just tell you that if you are in the Inner Circle, you will have use of— when you sign up for this, you will have use of this for 90 days for free. So this will get you through the first 90 days of the year. If you are not in the Inner Circle, that's Okay, you'll get 30 days for free. Okay, so everybody gets the option of using this software to study your Bible, read your Bible, study your Bible. Okay, so I'm really excited about that. And, um, before I bring him on, I want to mention two things briefly, and I'm going to tell you more details about it when we come back. A lot of y'all have been like, but Chrystal, what about the intensive? And Chrystal, what about the Membership Blueprint? And Chrystal— okay, I'm going to tell you more about that, okay, in just a minute. But really quickly, the Blueprint is for women who want to have me teach them how to monetize their membership in the community. The Intensive is all the other ways you can monetize. So if you are in that professional communicator space, um, I have more to tell you about later. I just wanted to acknowledge that I haven't mentioned them and I'll talk more about them soon. But right now we're gonna stick a pin in it, pause, and talk about studying your Bible with the tool that, uh, that my friend Scott is gonna come on and join me to talk about. Do we have a winner for the Inner Circle so I can announce that before Scott comes on? Inner Circle winner, then we can put that to bed. Praise the Lord, saints. Not yet. Alicia is our planner winner. Yeah, y'all see, isn't this cute? Isn't that cute? So I may, I may just do it like this and then just cut it in half, you know, and then stick it in the page, but that wouldn't be as much fun. So I'm working on it, I'm working on it. I'm trying to hold for my Inner Circle winner before I bring you on, Scott. Oh yeah, and also while we're doing this, um, everybody can download the Sister Circle app. That's free. Download the Sister Circle app, it's free, the one that's yellow. Okay, the winner for the year for the Inner Circle, uh, your YouTube handle is Maria Madia 199. M-A-R-I-A M-A-D-I-A R-R-A 199. Maria. Okay, I know this is exciting, isn't Isn't it free for 90 days? That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. Okay, y'all, so let's jump into this segment. So we're going to talk Bible, and then we're going to come back with a little more fun and foolery, a few more announcements, and then we're going to talk get your act together, girl. Get your act together. All right, move all my things around on my screen. Hey, Scott. There we go. Now I've unmuted you. Now you can say hi. Again.
Hello, hello, how are you doing?
I'm doing good. And y'all, I just want to say, first of all, Scott is on Pacific time and he had to log in with me at 6:45 Central, so he loves y'all. That's what I want to say. Scott loves y'all.
Yes, and a lot of coffee.
And a lot of coffee. Thanks for joining me and thanks for, um, helping us to understand, um, that there are tools available that make our study of the Bible easier. And as you know, I'm sure that you know this, people, this is the beginning of the year, everybody's trying to get their Bible reading together, everybody's trying to get their Bible study together. So get me together. Logos, logos, logos, what is it?
So logos is how they're going to train you or teach you to say it in seminary, but logos works just fine too. If I think if you went to Greece today, logos Logos would probably be what most would pronounce the word with, but it's the word word in John 1:1. So the Logos became flesh. So there you go.
And why? Because we can just pick up the Bible and read it. We can just pick up the Bible and read it, you know. We can, um, use our cross-references in the, uh, in the, in the Bible. We can go to the back of the Bible in the concordance. Why is a tool like this helpful for 10x-ing our Bible study? I know you're going to show us, but just kind of in a summary statement.
Yeah, so Logos has been doing this now for 32 years. Uh, I just celebrated my 28th year a couple weeks ago, uh, and we are the tool used by millions of people to dig deep into the scripture. And I think once I do my brief little, uh, show and tell, if you will, I think everybody's jaw will hit the floor. I mean, what it does is absolutely amazing to help you dig deep into God's word.
Awesome. Well, I appreciate you joining me. I'm going to give you the floor, and I'm going to— do you want to be on screen, or do you want to just show your screen? You want your face?
Yeah, just show my screen. That's fine. Show your screen.
Yeah, let's see here. All the bells and whistles. Okay, you got it. Go ahead.
All right, so yeah, as I said, you know, maybe brief little intro here on, uh, who is Logos, uh, but as I said 32 years we've been doing this. Uh, we have millions of users worldwide. Uh, we're about 450 employees, basically, uh, here in Washington State. I kind of live between Seattle and Vancouver, Canada, uh, so way far away from, uh, where you're at right now. Um, the other thing is we have 300,000 theological books in our format. Uh, so we have the largest theological library available to again help people just dig deep into the script uh, but what's really awesome is the new era of Logos. So this is the new version that just released, uh, and there's two big barriers that came crashing down. Uh, one is ease of use, and I should get a hearty amen, especially for some of you that might have tried Logos years back. Uh, our mutual friend Chris Cain told me recently that this is the first version of Logos that I'm using every single day because it's user-friendly, not user-hateful like it used to be in the past. Uh, and that's largely due because we've put AI into Logos. So I'm to show you what we've done with AI. Now I do wanna clear the air. What we've done with AI is we've limited it to just the books in Logos. So your Bibles, commentaries. So it's not connected to the internet pulling random information out there, right? 'Cause there is some danger in going out to Google or AI for a theological question. So I call it AI with guardrails, which is really an amazing feature of Logos. And then the other thing is cost. So we've now gone to subscription. Which we've talked about. Everybody's going to get a free 30-day. They're part of the Inner Circle, they get 90, uh, but as low as $10 a month. Uh, Logos in the past was in the thousands of dollars. That's a significant change because we want everybody on the planet to have access to this amazing tool, uh, to study the scripture. Uh, so again, I'll give some detail here for the Sister Circle, but again, everybody at least 30 days, and then for the Inner Circle circle, a 90-day, and another free gift. I didn't, uh, we didn't even say the other free gift, so I'll make sure to mention that when we close as well. But with that, let me jump into Logos and show you how this could be an amazing resource for those in studying God's word. Now the great news is when you download Logos, you get it for all your devices, so mobile, desktop, laptop, Android, iPhone. So whatever device you want to load it on, loads on all, and there's limit. Um, but I did want to point out, when you open up Logos, this is the way it looks, uh, when you open up the software. Every day, interesting articles about the Bible and so on and so forth. But up here is where you can have a prayer journal, you can start a reading plan. So how do you start new things? It's that little plus sign in the corner there. And I'm just going to show how simple it is to create a Bible reading plan. So there's reading plan, uh, and what you can do is in the bottom left corner, I'm going to say start a new reading plan, uh, and I want to go to a predefined. So I want to do a chronological Bible reading plan, but you can create your own very specifically. So I'm just going to say, hey, Logos, give me a predefined. Uh, I'm— you can do a topical reading plan, but if I scroll down, you'll notice there's the chronological Bible reading plan. So I'm going to select that, and then right up here you pick your translation, you pick the days you want to read— maybe Monday, Wednesday, Friday, maybe every day, maybe take Saturday, Sunday day off. And then once you've got it set the way you want, hit start, and you've just created your Bible reading plan for the year. And obviously you'd want to give it a name. As soon as you do that here, it's going to show up on your mobile device and so on and so forth. So Logos stays synchronized, which is a great, great feature. But I want to show you some of the powerful tools that are in Logos, uh, and the first of which is just reading your Bible. So there's the Bible button on the left-hand side of We think the Bible absolutely is the most important feature in Logos, so we gave it its own button. And so you just simply click Bible and there we go. But what's great is this little sidebar here called Insights. And what's great about that is, you know, I jumped into Romans 1:1 this morning as I was prepping, and right out the gate, I'm getting information about Paul. So I can click here and I get these beautiful infographics about Paul's life. But notice as I scroll through the text of Romans, that panel stays in sync with me, giving me commentary information. So if you hit a passage that might be a little difficult, uh, to understand, maybe what's going on in that passage, uh, what's great again is as I scroll down, that little panel just stays right with me at the exact verse, giving me that scholarship and that great insight into the passage. So even just opening the Bible and scrolling through the Again, amazing insight because of this feature called Insights. The other thing is we wanna help people visualize the scriptures. So there's a tool in Logos, and again, maybe we'll do another one of these later down the road where I have a little bit more time. I'm just trying to show people some major features, but we wanna visualize your study of scripture. So there's a tool in Logos called Interactives, and there's hundreds of these, and it's just a way for you to visualize the scripture. So here's a great visualization of all the different books of the Bible. I can click on each book and get all the summary information for that particular book. I clicked on Genesis, right? So to get a good understanding of each book of the Bible, we'll also visualize books of the Bible. So here's the Psalms Explore. You know, here's all the different Psalms. Psalm 23, if I had a favorite, is probably mine. So I just click Psalm 23 and look at all the insight I have here. I can have the Hebrew next to it. It. I can look at the parallelisms running through and so on. But in the right corner, this is where it gets, uh, amazing, is these little buttons here where I can click here and see the 5 books of the Psalms. And notice Psalm 119 is the biggest dot on the screen. That's telling me that Psalm 119 is the biggest Psalm. So even the size of the dot is telling us something. Click Author— who wrote what? What did David write? What did Solomon write? What's anonymous? I can click genre and find and see the theme of the Psalms. What's lament? And so maybe somebody watching is having some trust issues, right? Trusting in, you know, God's in control. I would spend the next few days reading those 6 Psalms that deal with trusting in the Lord, right? Another interactive is we'll take you to the Holy Land. It's called the Before and After. It's not just the Holy Land. It's, uh, Greece and the Middle East and other key archaeological discoveries. So click where you want to go. I'm going to click Jerusalem here, and everything that you see on the screen, uh, over here, if I want to know what it is, just click the word Herod or whatever, and we'll tell you who that person is. But look what we did. This is a satellite image of Jerusalem, but take this bar and scroll it across the screen, and we show you what it looked like at the time of Christ. So again, this is now, this is then, uh, Miracles of the Bible. We'll line up all the miracles in scripture, and I can see where the miracles happened, uh, who received a particular miracle, who performed a miracle. But in line with your, um, early talk about abundance, I can click type and I see all God's provision miracles. So if I wanted to just spend the next 30 days studying God's provision miraculous miraculous provision, uh, in the Bible. I could just spend hours right here again studying the various miracles of God's provision in the scripture. So that's visualizing your study of scripture. But the most amazing new tool, the one that everybody is talking about now, that literally dropped last month, is called Study Assistant. So it's right underneath that Bible button. What Study Assistant does is it allows you to have a conversation in Logos about anything. So I'm gonna start simple and I'm gonna type, what is the Trinity? Okay, so I can ask about a theological idea, I can ask about a passage, but I'm gonna say, what is the Trinity? And Logos now is off and running, reading a $7 to $8 million theological library. That's what you have access to. To and giving me an amazing answer. Now what's great is here's the answer on what is the Trinity, but it's all cited. So this is what's different about Logos versus every other AI option is we're gonna tell you exactly where the answer came from. So I can hit the little copy button right there, go to a word processor, hit paste, everything is automatically cited. So if you write, if you teach, if you blog, if you're leading a Bible study, this is huge because again, we're gonna tell you know exactly where the answer came from. But what's great about Study Assistant is you can have a lengthy conversation, and I want you to see all the conversations that I've been having in Logos over the last few weeks since this new feature dropped. And I wanna show you something I did in kind of preparing for today on the topic of abundance. So I went to Study Assistant, I started a new conversation, and I simply asked, "What does the Bible say about abundance?" Gave a great answer on the biblical perspective of abundance. Again, all cited. And then I asked, because again, it's a conversation, I asked, "Hey, list some key verses for abundance." And here we go, a fullness of life, God's provision on generosity in return, a material blessing on spiritual riches. And then I said, "Hey, what are some of the Greek and Hebrew words for abundance?" Logos in a second went and found the key Hebrew words for abundance, found the key Greek words for abundance, again, all cited. I did, scrolled down and said, well, what are some of the barriers to abundance? I read this, I was like, wow, this is really, really good insight on what are the barriers to abundance in my life, you know? And then after having this conversation, I, in preparing for today, said, hey, can you summarize all of this for my women's Bible study? Now notice what Logos did. It came back and said, well, there's a lot of things I could do here. Do you want me to create a discussion outline? Outline, talking points, maybe a short devotion for you, handout. And I said, oh, great, great, uh, input there. I, I really would like you to create a discussion outline. That'd be great. And here is my discussion outline if I wanted to either personally study Abundance or teach Abundance. So this is the power of the new Logos Study Assistant. And again, this is on your phone. So I don't know if you knew this, but I raised 9 children, have 10 grandbabies now, and my Guinevere's third birthday was last night, and I was showing a friend— we're all at this, my daughter's house, having this party— and I was showing him this on my phone, and his jaw hit the— he was asking me everything he ever wanted to know about this and that. We were just going into the Logos mobile app in Study Assistant. He was like, Scott, this is absolutely incredible. Because again, here's, here's the big idea: it's protected, it's vetted, it's real resources, it's real commentaries, real Bible dictionaries, the Bible itself, right? Now, the last tool I want to show in closing is a great feature called Factbook. So over here, right below Study Assistant, and this is where I go study. So if I want to study abundance, that's what I type. If I want to study, let's say, Leviticus, you know, let's be honest, during— in that chronological Bible reading plan, come March or April when most of us hit Leviticus, it's going to be a rough go, right? So I'm going to type Leviticus one. I'm going to go ahead and say that's what I want. What Logos just did in literally 1 second is about 50 hours worth of study on that particular chapter of scripture. So there's my Bible, there's my commentaries, there's my key text. But this is the new section I'm so excited about. It's called Questions to Ask. What we're doing is helping you ask the right questions about the text you're in. In. Uh, one of them, huge: how does the burnt offering foreshadow Christ? So I usually hit every one of these because I want to know all the insight on Leviticus 1. Again, it used to be a difficult passage to study, but now with Logos, I now know what are the key things that I need to be looking at in the text, right? So as I scroll back up, here are the answers. So if I wanted to know how How does the burnt offering foreshadow Christ? This is all the insight. So when we were in the topic of abundance— so you can do this with a topic, you can do it with a passage or topic— but if I typed abundance in Factbook, here's all my study material. But then again, there's the questions to ask. How can I find spiritual abundance? What does the Bible say about abundance? Is abundance a sign of God's blessing, right? So I want to know more about that. You open it, Logos is answering that question, but again, from a solid theological library. So that's the value of Logos. Not only are millions of people using this, but now with AI, it's easy to use because you now just have a conversation with Logos. Ask anything you ever wanted to know about. But again, it's AI with guardrails. You don't have to be nervous about maybe the heretical answer you're gonna get from Google or what have you, because again, this is real. Real scholarship. Now let's get to the, the gift and the blessing. Again, everybody gets it for 30 days, but if you're part of the Inner Circle, 90 days. Um, but here is the website that everybody needs to get to, and there is a deadline. I'll give that deadline in a moment. This is logos.com/the-sister-circle. Uh, and here are the different plans. Now I demonstrated Pro, and I think Pro is probably where most of you you are, because it's a, it's a huge library for, for that price. This is an $8,000 theological library that you have access to, that you can search and, and do study and build studies and so on. So Pro is going to be what we recommend. Uh, and just to show you the value of what's in Pro, I mean, again, this is an $8,000 theological library at the Pro level for that $14.95 a month, uh, once the free trial, uh, is done. Now here's the free gift. A great friend, Dr. Erica Moore, brilliant scholar, uh, we're going to give everybody the Biblical Theology of Glory and Exodus. This is a phenomenal 9-hour course. Dr. Moore on your screen teaching you, uh, again, the Biblical Theology of Glory and Exodus. $500 that everybody gets once you sign up for the free trial. So that's my, uh, free gift to everybody. Um, now here's the landing page when you go there. Uh, you just want to make sure, again, you go up there, you see it, uh, it says logos.com for the Sister Circle again, and just start your trial. Now everybody again starts here, but I think you're sending an email out to everybody with that special coupon code that will give the Inner Circle the 90 days. So again, if you're part of the Inner Circle, just hold on, you're getting some, uh, communication email or something that will give you the coupon code for the free free 90 days, and that course will automatically be added for free. Again, $500, uh, that's our gift to you. Um, but again, if you have old logos as well, when you go to the website, your price could be a little less because we take care of our family. Um, so make sure that you're signed into your account, and you could see a lower price because you already have old logos. But again, here's the deadline: 2 weeks today. Monday, January 19th, uh, is when the website goes away. Tuesday. So we'll keep it up till that Monday, uh, but to get your free, um, 30-day, and then if you're part of the Inner Circle, the 90-day. Logos Mobile is amazing, uh, but let me remind people, we spent a lot of money on a lot of different subscriptions. Uh, get rid of one and you can have Logos and do amazing studies. Ask any question you've ever wanted to know the answer for. I think it'll be a tremendous value. And I love this quote, uh, the heart cannot love what the mind does not know. Our passionate logos is that you are so full of the word of God that your mind is so engaged with God's truth in scripture, uh, that it changes your heart, changes your life, uh, changes relationships, changes everything. So that's what we've been about for 32 years, is to help people dig deep into the scripture, uh, and I promise anybody that takes advantage of this free trial, it will forever change the way you study, uh, God's holy word. Amen. Now I can't hear you anymore.
Unmute. That's my fault.
There we go. There we go.
I was going to say that was great, you did it Fast. Thank you for blessing us with the 30 days and blessing some of us with the 90 days and showing us what logos— logos— what it can do. I'm really excited about our reading through the Bible this year and for the deep dives that many of us are going to go on as a result. Thanks so much for joining me and getting up early, Scott, to do so.
Amen. Thank you for having me.
All right, y'all, y'all got the download. So remember, if you're in the Inner Circle, hold tight, coupon code coming your way. If you're not in the Inner Circle, 30 days you can enjoy that and then decide if you want to keep that. Okay, so as I mentioned earlier, because I know people come and go in here, I'm just gonna do a quick recap. I'm gonna do a couple of other announcements and then we're gonna talk about rhythm. I'm on the wrong camera again. Ah, and then we're gonna talk— look, look how much cuter I look. I was doing my makeup while he was teaching y'all so I wouldn't take up the time. Okay. Oh, that was a good smack. That was an amazing smack. Okay, okay. So quick recap, um, this is our last Public Monday Live for a little bit. I'm going forward, whether I'm live or releasing videos, whatever happens, whenever it happens, it will only be on YouTube. We're going to simplify our lives a little bit. So if you've always been on Facebook, come on over to YouTube. The waters are nice over there. Okay, um, quick recaps, uh, January, uh, Inner Circle. We'll talk, we'll talk, talk that— we will talk top threes in our Inner Circle party, so hold tight for that. We've already given away one planner. We have given away— what else did we give away? An Inner Circle membership. Okay, if you are interested in being, um, considered for a free cohort, uh, entrance, then you want to email me at hello@chrystalhurst.com and tell me why you would be a good fit for this cohort. And if you need to know more about that cohort, you go to thesistercircle.com/cohort. I'm recapping. Okay, Rhythm Reset, we've already talked about this. This is free, it's free, and we're going to be talking about resetting our rhythms today. But you can go to, uh, what is this, chrystalhurtz.com/rhythm, and download your 5-day reset. Okay, um, let's see what else am I missing because I know some people come in late. Okay, Inner Circle, we're talking about Abundance and Overflow Doors Close January the 12th. Uh, we're reading through the Bible. What else are we doing all year long besides talking about abundance? A lot of things. The Summer of Sisters, declutter challenges, book clubs, Bible study. Uh, yeah, it's a whole year we have planned. Um, and I wish I could tell y'all about it. If I was a for real marketer, I would have the whole year outline. But you want to know what? I haven't had time to do that. So I'm just going to tell you it's closing and you're either you're out. Okay, get on the ark, the doors are closing. Okay, so here's a couple things I just wanted to share with you before I talk about— and let me just say this, I throw a lot of stuff out there and say, you know, we're gonna do a book club and we're gonna do this reset and we're gonna do this walking challenge and we're gonna— we have the prayer group and we're gonna read the Bible together and all these things. It's à la carte, choose your own adventure. But the bottom line is there's two reasons that the Inner Circle exists, and there's two reasons why it would be a blessing to you. Major reasons. There are a lot of, a lot of other reasons. Number one, ultimately, I don't have currently a 501 ministry arm, so I don't ever really say, hey, donate here, you know, or in the year with your tax deductible. I don't, I don't do that because I don't have a 501. Maybe one day I will, but the Inner Circle is the way that the content we produce is supported. So there are some women who will join the Inner Circle and they never show up for anything. Um, they just are like, I want to support what you're doing. We have some people that in the bottom of every email there's like a, hey, contribute and support. And they're like, I don't want all the emails. I don't want all that. I'm just going to support. So that is ultimately, that's what it is. The second thing is it's a way to hear more from me. Um, it is a way to get more mentoring from me, more information from me, more connection with me to people that I know when I'm bringing them on to share. And some of those things end up in the public space and some of those things, particularly the fun and the foolery, do not. But one of the two, it's a deeper dive, more extended dive, more intentional for whatever you can ingest. And it's a way to support what we do. And we need to make our lives a little easier. This year. And, um, in— out of obedience, I'm closing the doors out of obedience. So I wanted to just thank those of you who have ever been or who are currently in the Inner Circle because you make what we do possible. So we're grateful for that. Um, now the Inner Circle is what I do for your personal formation. I believe in Titus 2:5 where where it says the older women teach the younger women. As my mother used to say, women need to teach women how to do it. So we know you're going to read the Bible, and yes, we're going to talk Bible. We know you're going to study, you're going to go to church, you have a small group and all of that, and that's great. But we also know the Bible talks about, you know, a, a quiet answer turns away wrath. Okay, but what do I do when I do— how do I know when I'm supposed to speak up, stand my ground, and when I'm supposed to just hold hold my tongue. The how to do it, when to do it, um, how do you know the difference? Like, when are you being a Matt and when are you loving like Jesus? You know, when do you, um, when do you communicate the truth in love and when do you hold your tongue? Like, those practical applications of the scripture are what we want to talk about. It is how do you maximize what you got coming in the door, because everybody's checkbook is limited. Uh, let's talk about um, how we eat, how we move, how we work, how we up-level, how we deal with our husbands, how we deal with our children. How do we hold on until our change comes if we're single? And even if we're happily single, you know, how do we deal with all the things that are not happy when we're single? Like, I mean, like, this is what the Inner Circle is. This is what I do. I love teaching the Bible, teach the Bible at my church, teach Bible when I get into people's churches. But what I love doing here here on Mondays or on Sundays, whenever you see the video, and definitely in the Inner Circle, is let's talk about how to do it. Let's talk about how to do it. So this morning I want to talk about how you can reset your rhythms this year. Um, this will be a good thing for you to have alongside the 5-Day Rhythm Reset. And over the next few weeks, my weekly emails that you're going to get, um, are going to be talking more about the details of getting your rhythms together. Y'all, rhythms are the key to life, okay? They are the key to life. And so, um, I want to kind of go to school with that over the next few weeks, um, in the email. Um, I'll go into more detail. Today is kind of like the intro to that. I'm going to teach that in just a second. The Inner Circle is personal formation. I really feel like a newscaster because I have a pen in my hand. You know, they always talk with a pen in their hand. I feel special. Oh yeah, and the Android app is working again. Praise the Lord Jesus. Okay, and if you missed the week of podcast last week, I released a podcast every day last week, so catch it. Okay, the inner circle is your personal life, but over the years I've had women who've said, Chrystal, but I need professional help. You run a business, you hire, you fire, you have a, uh, you build teams, whether I've, I mean, I've learned some things the hard way, but yes, we build teams over here. Um, yes, I've released books. Um, I market, I do technology. And so all the questions, I started getting a lot of the same questions. And so I have run two types of cohort cohorts, one for communicators and one for leaders. This year is my communicator year. I'm only doing 1. So if you are interested in learning a 90-day deep dive with me about what it is for you to maximize your message, market your message, and monetize your message, uh, you want to get on that ARC. But that's professional formation. Personal is the Inner Circle. Professional is the coaching that I do for, um, communicators and leaders. So there, the cohort is for that. Okay. And again, email me if you're like, Chrystal Hurst, there's no way in Hades that I would be able to afford that, but I'm going to tell you why I think I should be in the room. We're going to give one seat away for the cohort. That cohort entrance is your way to anything else I do or invite professional people to do. There is no on-ramp later in 2026. This is it. Now, there are two things coming up that I want to tell you about because anybody can do these. Okay. Um, they are included for cohort members. Anyone can do them, but they are included for cohort members. On January the 20th and the 20th through the 22nd, this is going to be virtual, um, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, January the 20th through the 22nd. I'm going to show up and teach how to get your message into a membership form so you can monetize your community. So a lot of y'all have community and you need a little extra money to pay for the email list or the podcast faster. Maybe just a week's worth of groceries will do. And I want to give you fast and to the finish line how to do this. So this is going to happen. It's virtual, online, um, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, January the 20th through the 22nd, from 11 to 1 in the afternoon. Will there be a replay? Yes. How long? Just a few days. It'll go away the Monday after. How much is it? $97. You can go— we'll put the link in the chat and we'll send the link in the email later today. But the membership blueprint is for those of y'all who are like, yeah, Chrystal, I just, I just need to go straight to that. If you're in the cohort though, you will get this. It's included. Okay. But I wanted to, I know what it is when you just need to figure out how to do something. Just give me the bottom line. So that's number one. That's the first thing that is available. And there's more information on the website. The second thing is in Dallas. So this is in person. Cohort girls will get a virtual ticket, but we're not selling virtual tickets. You have to be in the cohort. Cohort to be in the room virtually. On January the 29th, in Dallas, in person, I am doing a coaching intensive. Okay, I will put the link in the chat for that. Now, the coaching intensive is a one-day— beyond memberships, Chrystal Hurst, how else do I get paid as a speaker? How else do I get paid as a writer? How else do I get— how else do I— all the other things. How can I monetize my podcast? I'm going to walk you through all of those things. And the reason why we're doing that is because on the front end of the cohort, I want my cohort girls to start deciding what are they aiming for. So if you are willing to come to Dallas, or if you're in the DFW area, you want to get here, we are allowing other people in the room. Um, now depending on, uh, cohort girls, who you are, there's different versions of y'all coming in. Some of y'all will come in a little earlier if you're a coaching client. Some of y'all will stay a little later if you're— but, but one day is for our teaching, okay? And cohort girls get the one day in person, um, uh, sorry, virtually, that's included. And then if you're in the cohort and you want to come in person, if you didn't already get it for free, we got a discount code for you, okay? But bottom line is, if you're like, I'm not in the cohort and I just want to come to Dallas because I want that teaching, we put that link in the chat too. So all of these, we'll, we'll talk about it later. There's more emails that are coming. I just wanted to tell you about it. The 20th through the 22nd, memberships only, virtual, online. The 29th, in person, all day, every other way to monetize, the quick and the skinny and the bottom line. Okay, that is professional formation. And I'm doing all of this in January because after this, shh, Okay, all right. Now I think I said everything I'm supposed to say except I didn't say the cruise. Uh, January the 16th, y'all join me. We are going April the 26th through May the 3rd to the Caribbean. 7 days, very intimate experience. I'm really excited about it. Sign up before January the 16th. Thesistercircle.com Cruz. Okay, I want to pray for you and then I'm going to jump into my teaching for today. Oh, that wasn't— hold on, hold on, y'all, hold on. It's the beginning of the year, I gotta do something. Hold, please. Oh, please, let me warm up my throat. Hold, please. This is what the real people do. It's 2026, y'all. This— hold please, hold please. Wow. This is— hold on, choose your key, choose your key. Hold on, hold, please. This, this, this, this, this is my story. I went down like 7 octaves. This is my song praising my Savior. Savior all the day long. This is my story. That's something my mother would do. Doesn't it sound like my mother? This is my song. This is how you know you started too low, because when you go down to get it, you got to scoop it up. Praising my Savior all the day long. That's that contralto. Y'all don't know nothing about that contralto. You don't know. Blessed assurance. Okay, hold on, I went in, I went in. Jesus is mine. Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine. Mine, heir of salvation, purchased by blood, his blood, born of his spirit. Wash something in— I know it, I got the red hymnal in the house, okay? I, I am a bona fide churchgoer because I got the red hymnal in the house. Y'all don't know. This is my Hi, hold please, hold please, hold please. She's going to do it. This is— this is my falsetto version. This is my— hold, hold me, help me Jesus, help me Jesus. This is my story. This is my song. Oh, that woman off the rails just a little bit. Praise. Okay, I think we got it. Y'all know you really churchy if you got the red hymnal in the house. Somebody else got a red hymnal in the house, or the black one. She said the bona fide red hymnal in the house. I read. I, I, I am a reader, okay? I am a reader. Did I say everything I was supposed to say? I am acting up, Miss Billy. They won't give me the mic at church, so I got to take the mic when I have it right here, okay? Don't tell them I said that. You better not tell Erskine I said that, okay? So what had happened was, I'm a reader. Don't get me in a room full of books. Um, the problem is when I get a book, I— this is an easy read, but when I get a book, I can blow through it. The problem is I think I have more time than I do, so I collect the books that I know I can blow through, but then I don't actually have the time to blow through it. Anyway, I blew through this one. I read this one because I'm thinking about preparing for abundance. That was my excuse. Lord, business expense. I ordered all these books about abundance and blessing and overflow off of Amazon. I was like, this is You think I get to order books and talk about a money? Because I'm gonna be prepared for y'all. Y'all better hear me, I'm about to be prepared. Prepared, okay? Prepared. Um, so anyway, read this. I want to give you the 3 secrets real quick, okay? Um, Bruce Wilkerson— and then I didn't even know we were going to do the Prayer of Jabez in church yesterday, so then now I got to go back and read my Prayer of Jabez, enlarge my territory. But Secrets of the Vine— so I'm going to start with the end, and I'm going to give you these 3, and then I'm going to talk to you about Rhythm, because one of the keys, one of the keys to you operating in abundance and overflow this year is about your alignment, okay? It's about your alignment. Stacy said, I'm in the street, laughing out loud. Okay, your alignment matters because if you're not aligned, you're not in position for overflow, okay? You have to be in alignment. So everybody wants the prayer of Jabez, but nobody wants to know what he had to do to be in alignment for that. Okay, so let me— okay, he says on page 120, and this is not the teaching, this is the prep for the teaching: don't miss the link between the Jabez prayer and the secrets of the vine. Your Jabez prayer in Invites God to use you to bear fruit. The Secrets of the Vine, that's this book. Oh, I love it when the Instagrammers and the social media people do this. Listen, I could do that with the planner. Somebody— I didn't even know I could do with the planner until somebody else did it online. Okay, God, the God, um, your, your The Jabez prayer invites God to use you to bear fruit. The secrets of the vine reveal, reveal how God changes you so that you will become even more useful and fruitful for his glory. Okay, so the prayer of Jabez says, Lord, use me, enlarge my territory, you can use me. The secret of the vine says who you have to be, who you have to be in order to receive what you need to receive. To bear fruit. Fruit don't just show up. You have to be in position to be utilized for that. So I've marked them for you. I got my little 3 sticky notes in here. Here's the first secret. If your life consistently— code word consistently, somebody write code consistently in the chat because that's the code word. That's why we're going to talk about rhythm and routines today. If your life consistently bears no fruit fruit, God will discipline you. That's secret number 1. If your life consistently doesn't bear any fruit and you belong to Jesus, he's going to discipline you. Why? Because he loves you. He's a father. He's not just going to let you be out there dying and shriveling up. He's going to try to bring you back to the source. How does he do that? Through discipline. Number 2, if your life bears some fruit, God is going to prune you. Okay, so if you are not bearing any fruit consistently, God is going to discipline you. If you are bearing some fruit, God is going to prune you. Okay, here's the third secret: if your life bears a lot of fruit, God is going to invite you to abide more deeply. Okay, you're either being disciplined, pruned, or invited. Disciplined, pruned, or invited. And those three things, based on Bruce Wilkinson's book The Secret of the Vine, are going to happen based on how you're consistently showing up. Most of us struggle with consistency or discipline in some area of our lives because none of us is perfect. Even if you are a pretty disciplined person, there are some things we just don't do all the time. But you have an invitation, particularly this month in January. We all feel it, get back together the beginning of the year. But at any time, you have an open invitation, an open invitation to come closer so that you can bear fruit. You will not— you, you can bear fruit, you can bear fruit, but you can't bear the kind of fruit that is going to be the best fruit for you, the best fruit for others and the fruit that God could do the most with, unless you're connected. So when you look at people and they're— they don't love God, or they're out here in these streets living any old kind of way, and it looks like they're bearing fruit, they may be bearing fruit, but we know what it's like for that fruit to shrivel up, don't we? All of a sudden, the celeb that had millions of dollars is bankrupt. All of a sudden, their family is falling apart. All of a sudden, they're losing their mind. You can have what looks like fruit, but it's called faux fruit. Okay, we don't want faux fruit, we want real fruit. And God is after real fruit that comes from being in alignment with him. How do you make sure you're in alignment with him? You need to abide. You need to abide consistently. So there is something about consistency. Let me get my yellow Bible out here. Okay, my mother's favorite passage is— was, was when she was here. It is still, um, because it is something I hear and I think about her all the time. John 15:5: I am the vine, you are the branches. Okay, this is clear. God is the vine, you are the branch. Okay, the one who remains or abides in me and I in him produces much fruit, because without me you can't do anything. Can you do stuff? Yeah. Can you do the stuff that matters? No. Can you do the stuff that counts for eternity? No. Can you do the stuff that is for God's greatest glory and for your greatest good? No. You can make up some stuff, but weeds can grow. That doesn't mean they're great. Okay, so John 15:5: I'm the vine, you are the branches. The one who remains in me— I'm inserting consistently— and I in him produces fruit. What kind of fruit would you produce if today you were attached to the vine as a branch, and then tomorrow you decided you wanted to hang out in the dirt, and then 3 days later you said, well, let me reattach? Are you going to bear the most fruit? No, it is consistently staying attached. So the reason why I want to talk about rhythms today is because I don't want to stress you out. I don't want you to feel bad about what you can't— you haven't been able to do. I don't want you to stress out, I want to invite you, because you constantly have an invitation, okay? You have an invitation to consistently abide. You have an invitation to do this. And let me tell you, man, let me tell you something. I'm going to read this to you real quick. He says, um, as far as I can tell, the great majority of God's people today live ignorant of the promise and the practice of abiding. As a result, they fail to reach the level of much fruit represented by that fourth overflowing basket. Maybe you're among that majority. You're not sure how to have an overflowing spiritual experience and how that actually happens. Abiding is all about tending to the most important friendship of your life. We're going to read the Bible this year, but reading the Bible is not the same as abiding. I can read somebody's book and not spend time with the author, you know. So I want to talk about rhythms, because rhythms for your life— one of the rhythms, of course, that you want to maintain is spending time with the one who wrote the love letter for you, okay? And you want to do it consistently. We don't want to judge. I don't want you to feel bad. I want you to feel invited to do that, because the consistency of your attachment to God through his word is going to change your life, okay? Also, the kind of person that you need to be has to be in alignment alignment with that for that to happen, which is why general rhythms and routines are helpful for you. All right, so y'all ready to hear it? Y'all ready to hear it? That's where we're going. But today I'm going to talk about rhythms and resetting your rhythms. And don't forget, you've got that 5-day download, and then I'll be talking about rhythms for the next few weeks in the email list with lots of practical suggestions for you. Okay, lots of practical suggestions. All right. There are 2 green planters left, and we've been going through about 20 a day, which means that the yellow ones will be gone by Thursday if they're still there. So if you want one, don't delay. Okay, praise the Lord, saints. Let me get my stuff in my windows. I really don't know where my notes at went. It's just ridiculous. Okay, few questions for you to consider. Have you ever felt tired because— not because you're doing too much, but because everything just requires too much thought? Like, have you ever looked at your life and said, it shouldn't be this hard, why is this 'Why does this feel so hard? This shouldn't be this hard.' Have you ever thought that way? I have. When I'm looking at my life, I'm like, 'This can't— this is not this hard.' But you're thinking about too much stuff. Like, everything requires a decision, and every decision seems hard to make. Okay, um, maybe you are in the group of people that starts the new year and you, uh, are excited about the hope that the new brings, but you also feel the pressure that the new year brings. Oh my gosh, I got to get it right. Well, I want to invite you to this, okay? The fresh start that you're craving, it doesn't require you to make up a whole new life. It does require you to make some choices that will align you, set you up for the ability to feed off of the vine. So without you conjuring up your own energy, conjuring up your own nutrients, conjuring up your own strength. You can simply receive and produce. The struggle is when we are trying to produce without receiving, okay? The struggle is when we're trying to produce without receiving. So here we go, for real, for reals. This is where the actual video can start. All right, y'all, it's January. What did I do? Okay, I hit a button and it did something weird. Okay, all right, y'all, it's January and we know what happens in January. You're telling yourself all the things. This year I'm going to get it together. This year I'm going to be more disciplined. This year I'm going to finally stick with it. And you are aligning all the things in your life to shoot like a cannonball out of a— out of a cannon or a rocket out of a rocket ship or a, a, you know, something like that. You, you trying to shoot out like a, like a firework out of the pocket by the lake. You're trying to start with a bang and you're going to burn out. It may— you may last 21, maybe 30. Most of us only last couple weeks. You're gonna shoot out and then be like, oh my goodness, I'm the same person I was last year. And that's okay, that's okay. You, you are allowed to be who you were, but I want to invite you to something different. I want to invite you to something different than what normally happens. What normally happens is by the time we get to February, we're wondering what's wrong with us. We're wondering if we're lazy. We're wondering if we just simply lack discipline, if everybody else got discipline and we didn't get it. We are thinking, you know, that maybe there's something wrong with us or that we'll never be able to get it right. We don't want that kind of energy in the room, okay? Everyone has felt like, man, life is hard. It shouldn't be this hard. Everything seems to take so much brain power from me. Um, I'm, I'm, I'm tired, but I'm not even doing anything. I'm just trying to figure out what to do. Everybody has thought at the beginning of the new year, man, this is exciting. And also, am I going to get it right this year? We want to take all of that away. This is what I want you to receive, that the beginning of a year is an invitation. It's an invitation for you to enjoy the development of you, the next level of you, and you get to grow gently into that next level. Why? Because you also are a daughter of a king who is calling and inviting you gently into the place that he wants you to be. He is not, uh, tying you to a rope and yanking you into the new year. He is not sitting there with a cane or a stick or a belt to beat you into submission. He is saying, listen, I want you to be the kind of person that can consistently and rhythmically connect with me, and I'm inviting you to that place because when you get here, it's great over here. Well, if God is inviting you into that, what kind of person do you need to be overall to experience that? A person who embraces not rigidity, not perfection, not checking things off and being an A-list a sister, but just the invitation to the gentle rhythms and tracks and routines that will allow you to think less about the things that can be on automatic and save that brain space for the things that actually need it. In January, you might tell yourself, this is the year I get it together, this is the year I'm going to figure it out. I don't want you to be in that boat that says that, gives all of your energy, and then in February you are fizzling out. Your life, whether you have chosen intentionally and overtly or not, you are running on rhythm. So a lot of us will say, well, I'm just not a disciplined person, you know, I, I don't have good rhythms and routines. Oh, you, you have rhythms and routines, they're just not serving you. So whether you have intentionally or unintentionally chosen them, there are things that you're doing in your life that are contributing to the life that you're living. Where you are today is where you have chosen to be. And I know that somebody's going to say, no, I didn't. I didn't choose to have this health infirmity. I didn't choose to have, uh, this mate that, you know, had this struggle. I didn't choose to have, uh, you know, children who were, who were struggling in school. I didn't choose to get laid off of my job. You're missing me. There are lots of things in life you cannot choose, but you can always choose who you're going to be in it, who you are and how you are handling feeling, responding to what is happening in your life, that is also always your choice. So you got to look back and take some responsibility for how you got here, wherever that is. If you are married to a man and the marriage is the marriage made in hell, he, he is responsible for his choices. But let's not forget you chose him. So let's— we You can't ignore the fact that with the knowledge that you had, you chose him, right? You are doing your best to, to take care of your body, right? And there may be some things that you cannot control, but every day there are things that you are, that you can control. So there are always choices. Resist the urge to be a victim and say that where you are, you don't have control of it. There's always something you can choose. If it's not what is happening to you, it is always how you can respond to it. You can choose. So if you unintentionally come down every day and sit down on the couch and watch YouTube, that is a choice. It may not feel like one, but it is one. If you roll through Cane's on the way home, get your sweet tea or your half and half lemonade with your fries because you still haven't had a chance to go to the grocery store— I know you didn't have a chance to go to the grocery store. I know life is hard, and I know you got 3 mouths to feed. All that, but you chose to go through canes. I understand that there are lots of things in our lives that we do on automatic that don't feel like choices, but they are choices. So the same energy and effort that you are using to make the non-choices, we need to channel that to make the actual choices that will bring you into rhythms and routines that benefit you and they don't suck life out of you. Your life is running on default settings. Most of us were on default settings, and many of those settings we either didn't choose or we devolved into them because the other choices were a little harder. But if you don't like your life, you can redesign it to support what matters most to you. Um, I believe it's Seth Godin— you don't rise to the level of your goals, you fall to the level of your systems and your rhythms. So it is your job to choose rhythms that support the life you want, even with all the things you cannot control. Your life is already in a rhythm, whether you feel like you chose it or not. Most of us wake up every day and we think we're choosing how we live, but really, um, honestly, we're responding. So we wake up, if our phone is right there, we check our phone. That's a rhythm. We eat whatever is easiest, right? So instead of, you know, maybe taking the time to boil an egg or, you know, have some fruit, if we didn't prep beforehand, what's easiest is grab that sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit out of the freezer, or, you know, not to eat breakfast at all, or, um, you know, we're going to drink the super sugary drink on the way to Starbucks because we didn't brew it at home. Like, we're going to choose the, the easiest path. So I have a leak again— Jesus help— in my house, but I, I'm calling the plumbers. But the last time the plumber came, and I said, the area with the problem is over here, why is the water coming out over there? And he said, because water will always find a way out, and it will always choose the path of least resistance. You're wired the same way. You're going to always find a way out of discomfort and pain, and usually that's the way of least resistance. So how do you make sure that you are living a life where you are staying put where you're supposed to be? You're going to have to kind of offer a little bit of a response and put a little energy into response instead of just doing whatever comes next. You're gonna have to think about, is this a yes that I want give. So instead of ending the day exhausted from all the things that you did unintentionally and wondering where the time went, you can choose a rhythm. You can choose how you shape your time. A rhythm is simply what repeats. It's whatever repeats. And, and when something repeats, it forms you. Your rhythms are discipling you even when you're not paying attention. So the Bible says in Ephesians 5:15-16, be careful how you live, um, not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity. So God wants you to be intentional with how you live, not perfectionistic but intentional. So the reason why I created the Rhythm and the Reset download is because I know that many of us at this time of year, we're just trying to recover from the holidays, and we just need to rethink what do we do in the morning, what do we do in the evening, what do we do to establish a rhythm for our week, what do we do to establish the rhythm for our days. It's not a life overhaul, It's just a check-in so that you can notice the patterns that maybe you've devolved to and then be intentional about realignment. Let me tell you why realignment is so important and why rhythm helps. That alignment is what keeps you in the flow of the life that you want to live. Okay? Alignment is what keeps you in the flow of the life that you want to live, and rhythm keeps you in alignment. If I am constantly down and up, down and up, on the ground, up high, down and up, down down and up. If the connection point is here and I keep moving, I am losing and gaining flow. I will do a better job of receiving flow— and this is important when we talk about abiding with God— when I stay aligned. So the reason why you want to choose rhythm in your life with how you study the Bible and how you get up in the morning and how you eat and all those things— not rules, just rhythms, gentle rhythms— is because it will keep you in alignment. Let me tell you something, if you have a good evening routine, that means you will wake up at the time you're supposed to wake up in the morning, which means that if you meant to have time with the Lord in the morning, you will have it. If you have a rhythm of going to bed the night before, that rhythm keeps you in alignment. If you have a rhythm of going to the grocery store once a week or meal planning once a week, that rhythm will keep you out of the Cain's line. If you have a rhythm of sitting with your children and going over a scripture, maybe you all are memorizing together. That rhythm helps you to hide God's word in your heart. If you have a rhythm of getting, uh, uh, uh, of, um, of going for a walk— you get home from work, you walk in your bedroom, you put on your tennis shoes, you walk right back out the door and go for the walk— that rhythm will keep your health, your, your heart beating at a healthy space without you thinking about it. There are things in your life that will keep you in alignment. We go to the doctor, and right before we go to the doctor. We try to eat good, we try to get all the salt out of our diet, we try to, you know, water fast, do all these things so our numbers will read well. If you are in alignment, you don't have to do that because you're living there. So rhythms are important because they keep you in alignment, and your rhythms are things you can choose. Good rhythms will reduce— here's the good news— it reduces decision fatigue. The reason why you're tired is because every day you're making too many decisions every day. So when you put certain things in your life into rhythms, it frees up brain space. The reason why you're exhausted, the reason why you're overwhelmed, the reason why you are— your brain hurts is because you're making too many decisions. How do you take some of those decisions out? You put them on rhythm. Steve Jobs wore a black shirt and jeans every day because he said, I'm not wasting any of my brain space on choosing what to wear. Uh, some of you girls who are watching this as I'm recording this live, you are locked up. You got sisterlocks, you know, some kind of mini micro locks. Let me tell you what, every woman who I talk to says it's the best decision she made in her life. And the reason why is because she now doesn't have to worry about that. She, she took that out of her rhythm and routine. People, y'all, we are making— we are thinking lots of thoughts, thousands of thoughts a day, and even more thousands of decisions every day. That is exhausting. What are you eating? Um, you know, when am I going to go to bed? What am I going to pray about? How am I going to move my body? When do I want to get to work? When am I going to stop working? What route am I going to take? You know, did I check the email for my kids? There's a million decisions a day. If you can take some of those things out of your decision-making faculty and just put them on repeat, you will save your brain from burning out. Rhythm turns decisions into defaults. So when you can put certain things on autopilot, that opens up space in your brain for what actually needs your attention. So when we talk this year about alignment, consistently being in alignment with God, with the rhythm of your day, with your family, with your marriage, with your kids, with your home, like cleaning up on rhythm, um, it may, it may feel constricting straining at first, but it's not. Rhythm frees up your brain and your body and your time for more important things. I do not make my bed every day. I just don't. Um, but I do know that if I choose to adopt that as a habit, uh, after a while it won't be something that's begrudging to me because it will just be habit. How do I know this? Because my mother made me make up my bed every day when I was a little girl, is why when I got grown, I was like, I'm not doing that. But I do know that after a while, you don't even think about it. It doesn't take up that brain space. When you brush your teeth, hopefully you don't really think that hard about it in the morning. Um, when you— you don't— you don't wake up and decide if you're going to brush your teeth or not. You don't need motivation to brush your teeth. You don't put it on your vision board. You don't put energy into it. You just get up and you do it because it is a rhythm. So imagine if the most important parts of your of your life— your time with God, your rest, your margin, your movement, your connection— if they were treated with the same consistency. God is a God of decency and in order. Think about the way the world moves. We can, we can map our watches and our calendars by the way God orchestrated the world. Even though the time that the sun rises every day is different, it follows follows a cycle, a rhythm that we can map. The stars— we know which, um, constellations are going to be in the sky because of the way that the Earth moves, and everything is on a timer. God operates that way, and we can set our watches by it. Order in your life is not restrictive, it is supportive. So the question is, where do you need support right now in your life? Where do you need support? Um, I am convinced. I was, I was looking at my, all my books last night when I was working on my, you know, getting all my stuff together in here. And, you know, looking at all the things I write down, all my things. And, um, I'm convinced. And I say this and people tell me not to say it: you can map out your whole life in a spiral notebook. The key is not the book. I love my beautiful book. I love my planner. I love all that. But the key is not the book. The key is that you keep showing up to remind yourself of what should be on your mind. The rhythm of writing things down, the rhythm of coming back to see what you wrote down. That's what's important. Most of us, if we had a weekly meeting with ourselves or with our spouse to talk about the week, we wouldn't be stressed out, running behind, trying to figure out what's on the calendar because we have a rhythm for that. Um, even the Heart Behind the Inner Circle, me talking every Monday It's about a rhythm. It's a soft accountability to remind yourself about what's important. We go to church every week. Many of you meet with your small group monthly or biweekly. It's the steadiness of encouragement and the place where you are reminded about the important things in your life. Where do you feel like, man, I'm always having to think about this and it feels like pushing a mountain up a hill? Let me give you an example. If you're like, man, my marriage is trash, okay, like not like trash trash, but like we're just passing like ships in the night. And you're— and, and, and, and you're like, the things that people tell you feel like, uh, like, you know, every day before you leave your husband, you ought to kiss him. Or, you know, you ought to say one positive thing to your husband, or refrain from saying something critical. And you're like, okay, when you decide to do something and putting up— put it on rhythm, the first time it feels like, uh, the second time it feels like The third time it's like, eh. The fourth time you're just doing it. But rhythmic things can change the tenor of a relationship. Where in your life right now do you feel like, I have to think too hard about this? That's the very place that you want to put something in place that you don't have to think about. You don't need a new year, you just need a reset. This is an invitation. So the freedom is that this is not something you have to do every January. This is something you can do when whenever you need it, because not life is going to knock you off rhythms. Last year I had a crazy, crazy year. So many unexpected, interrupted, life-altering things, and I'm still reeling from that. But I know what I can get back to. I know that I need a rhythm of the way I run my days, and when I do my laundry, and when I do my errands, I have something to come back to. When you build your rhythms, you're going to lose them, but you can back to them. Consistency doesn't mean that you never fall off. It just means when you fall off, you know how to get back. You know how to reconnect. The mercies of God, Lamentations 3:23, it says that they are new every morning because we need to reconnect every morning. We take our daily bread is what Matthew 6 talks about. It's an— it's a daily thing. And every morning you have an invitation not to do more, but simply to realign. So realignment looks like deciding what you're going to do the evening before, what you're going to do the morning of, when you're going to do the chores during the week, how you're going to plan for your meals. Rhythm includes, uh, when you're going to connect with your spouse. It includes when are you going to clean your office at work because things get out of hand. Rhythm includes how are you going to connect with the people that are valuable to you. Like, I can go for weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks and never see my sister unless I say, you know what, I want to be intentional to make sure I don't lose in-person connection. And so once a month, once every other month, we'll go— we'll leave church and we go out to eat. And if I haven't done it in a while, it's just something that I'm thinking that I want to consistently do. We're not talking about a bunch of rules and regs. We're talking about how you continue to remain the person you want to be. So if the person you want to be is, I want to be on time, what does an on-time person, rhythmic rhythmically and consistently do to make that possible? If you want to quit running out of gas and, and being stressed out because you don't have any gas in your, in your tank, what are you going to do? What is the rhythmic and consistent thing that a person who never runs out of gas— what do they do? If you want to be the person who can quote scripture, what does that look like? To rhythmically and consistently study God's word and repeat the word so that you can memorize it. If you want to have friends and you're like, I don't have friends. You have to be the person who rhythmically and consistently shows up to places where you can meet people and then rhythmically and consistently reach out. Rhythmic and consistent activities in your life will shape your life. You can come back to this in March. You can come back to this in August. You can come back to this in September. You don't start the year and think, how do I fix everything? You simply say, what rhythms will support the life I'm praying for. Who you are consistently will rise to meet what God is going to give you. Now, he knows we're not perfect, and he doesn't expect us to be perfect, but I am saying he does want to participate with people who are connected with what he's doing. So we don't want to start this year rushing. We don't want to start this year feeling shame. We don't want to start this this year feeling disconnected, but you do want to look and say, what are the things that I— one at a time— that I can do that will enable me to show up for my life this year connected? What does the person do who has the life that I want to have? What does the person do who connects with God the way I want to connect with God? What does the person do who has the degrees and has has the, or has the responsibilities or has the finances. My sons right now are reading Rich Dad Poor Dad. And I woke up this morning to find my son at my door. And I said, what are you doing? It was like 6 o'clock in the morning. And he said, I'm reading. I said, what do you mean? It's 6 o'clock in the morning. He said, I got up at 4 and I couldn't sleep. He said, this is my investment era. So he's, I made them read a chapter and then all of a sudden he read the last 6 chapters like in 2 days. And he's overly investing himself in learning about investing. And he said, you know what, Mom, I discovered the most important thing that I can ever do if I want to be— so if I want to be, um, financially stable, secure, and even a millionaire early in my life, is that I need to consistently invest something every month through the ups and downs of the stock market. You know, when I'm afraid and when I'm not sure, if I just consistently do it that over time I will get where I'm going. It's called dollar cost averaging. This is the way your life works. We are riding up and down. I feel like getting up early today, you know, I feel like organizing my closet and deciding what I'm gonna wear tomorrow. I feel like giving compliments to my husband consistently or not because he didn't do me right. I, I, you know, I feel like going to church today. I'm gonna, you know, decide if I'm gonna be in my small group today? You know, am I eating a salad today or not? What do I feel like eating? That is not rhythmic living. Your ability to live well means you consistently are doing what you need to do so that regardless of what's happening in life, you are moving up. And if and when you fall off, you recognize that and you get back to it. Um, one of the girls told me in the Inner Circle, She said, the reason why it helps me so much is because I'm constantly reminded every week to pay attention to my life and to make the decisions that will align what I want for my life with what I'm doing. Because overflow in your life doesn't come from doing more. It comes from being connected consistently and making room for the kind of abiding that will allow you to receive the overflow that God has in store. So identify right now what rhythm in your life is currently running you instead of serving you. What are you always doing that actually doesn't set you up for success? What are you always doing that doesn't set you up for success? Let me give you an example for me, y'all. I, I like working in the bed, so that means when I go to sleep, my laptop is right there. So when I get up in the morning, I pull my laptop out and I say, I'm going to just do a couple of things before I do the other things I need to do for the day. That rhythm is running me. Let me tell you what rhythm I know works. What works is, first of all, neither of my devices need to be next to me in the room. And when I get up, I go brush my teeth and I get dressed for a workout. Then I go get my water, I get in my car and— or go outside and walk or go to the gym or whatever and work out, shower, come back home, start my daily things for my home before I ever crack the laptop. If I open my laptop, that rhythm is running me. Not only that, but I'm letting outside influences dictate the first things on my mind, and I know that that's not the way that rhythm works best in my life. I hear God when I'm working out. I, um, I'm listening to scripture on my way to the gym. I mean, it changes my whole day. So what is one area where your rhythms are concerning you. And what's one area of your life that you think could feel a little lighter if you didn't have to think every day about it? If you weren't thinking about it every day, it would just feel lighter. So another example, when you're dealing with your money, my mother used the envelope system with cash. And I know cash sometimes is not accepted anywhere, but she said, I would at the beginning of the month put all of my money, pay my bills, and then put my money in envelopes. That removed the thinking. I could look at it and see this, how much money I I left. I wasn't trying to decide. I didn't have to get on Quicken. I didn't have to figure out how much I'd spent. It was in the envelope. That rhythm gave her the support she needed for managing her finances. So let's talk about what rhythm is running you and what one area would feel lighter if you had rhythms of support underneath you. And remember, you don't need a perfect plan. You don't have to get it perfectly. You just need a place to return to. That's That's what reset is. And if this year you stopped saying, I'm gonna try harder, I'm gonna do different, I'm gonna do all the things, and instead said, I'm gonna build rhythms that make certain things easier, what you're gonna do is create space. Create space to think, create space to create, create space to hear, create space to receive other things that God wants to give you. So I started walking last year. Last year for an hour with nothing in my ear. I hate working out with nothing in my ear. I've gotten used to working out with nothing in my ear. That rhythm of going walking without anything in my ear, now I'm used to it. And it also has become this beautiful place where I pray, receive, and the to-do list comes to me. I don't have to work hard to come up with my to-do list. The to-do list comes to me. It rises to greet me simply because I have the rhythm of clearing my head, nothing else competing for space. So you've gotta think, what are the things that are requiring energy and how can I put rhythm behind it? We're not gonna put rhythm on everything today. You build rhythm slowly because you are invited to the act of becoming intentionally the person that you want be. You can build consistency step by step. So let me give you one practical thing that has helped me with building rhythms, okay? Um, my mornings definitely start the evening before. Go to bed, Chrystal Hurst Hurst. But we'll get into this more in the weeks to come, but I want to give you one big tangible thing. Number one, I get up in the morning, I stretch my hands to the ceiling, and I say, Lord, this is your day. I want to operate in your power. I want to operate in your grace. I want to operate in your Mercy, you showed me what's important today. I sit there, I wait, and I listen. I get up, go get dressed, and this is the perfect day. Get up, go get dressed for my workout. I leave, go walk, go get in the car, go whatever. I will take a book with me the first part of my workout. I will not listen, I will not do anything, I will just be there. The second part of my workout, if I'm at a gym or if I stop running, I may listen to a book on tape or read a book if I'm sitting on a recumbent bike. I take a shower, I I come home, I fix breakfast or get set for the day, and then I work. That rhythm has served me well. I also have realized that the more rhythmic I have been with that, the more time I want for all of it, which has resulted in me getting up earlier and earlier and earlier. I am not a natural early bird, not naturally. I trained myself to be when I realized that I needed more time with the Lord, and when I realized I needed more time to run my 5 miles. But I started with, girl, just get up 10 minutes earlier so you can at least have some time to pray to the Lord before you get out of the bed. It doesn't matter, you start with something. Now I automatically most mornings wake up, my alarm goes off at 5, I'm normally up before that, but I built it with 10 minutes. Um, your evening routines, the way you run your home, the way you run your relationships, they all can be operationally optimized for those of y'all who are project managers. But you can start small. I just want you to know that rhythms, particularly the thing where you connect to the Lord, this is how you position yourself for overflow. You don't have room room to receive overflow and abundance if your hands are full of decisions that you could put on automatic. You don't have room to receive what God wants to place in your hands if you're just trying to figure out where your— where your other shoe is in your closet, because your closet is a mess and you need the rhythm of every day putting your clothes away. Some of y'all are very disciplined, some of us are not, but all of us need rhythm in some area of our lives. And I'm inviting you to build that. So what I don't want you to do is the first month of the year launch out and try to get everything right today. We're going to build slowly, slowly the rhythms that support you. And my prayer for you as we launch into this new year is that, um, you will launch gently, gently. Why? Because you serve a gentle shepherd who is inviting you to receive the fullness of the vine. One other quick thing: where the vine connects— the branch connects to the vine, okay, that determines— the circumference of that connection determines the amount of flow of nutrients from the vine to the branch. If the branch is this big, that's how much flow it's gonna get. If the branch is this big, that's how much flow it's gonna get. How do you increase your capacity to receive? This is your capacity to receive. How do you increase that? By removing the things that are taking your time and attention in ways that are not serving you. What's one of the ways that you remove the things that are blocking the flow?
Rhythms.
So my dryer is not drying the clothes right now, and I thought it was the heating element. So I called the dryer guy, the appliance guy, and he said, no, your heating element is fine. I said, well, maybe it's the thermostat. He said, no, your thermostat is fine. He said your vent is blocked. So I got a whole dryer that is working, and I paid money for the appliance guy to come out and fix it, and he said, I don't have a dryer problem, I have a flow problem. So he said, call your vent guy and clean out your vents. What I'm saying is keep the flow clear. How do you keep the flow clear? Put some things on automatic. Start one thing at a time and then watch God expand your capacity to receive. This is the year of abundance and overflow. I'm going to be talking about it all year, um, what it means in terms of money and mindset and the way you manage your life. But I just want you just to get connected and to make sure that, to the degree you can, you have removed what's clogging the vent. And what's clogging the vent are all the unintentional choices that you are making every day that are sucking your time, your attention, and your energy. They are blocking your capacity to receive the flow. God wants you in alignment. John 15:5, you are the branch, he is the vine. And when you're attached and when you have capacity, you will bear much fruit. You want the fruit, but let's build your capacity and make sure that everything is flowing. How do you do that? Do a few things consistently, and what I can guarantee you is that what you do consistently will expand you. I know that to be true. And when you fall off, and I do, you just get back up and try again. So y'all, here's to the year of overflow, expansion, capacity, rhythm, and being in alignment. My prayer for you this year is that you would find your rhythm and that as you find your rhythm, that God would find you, and that you would experience a degree of overflow and alignment and abundance in a way that you've never experienced before. Lord, I just pray for everybody who's watching this, however she found this video, whenever she's watching it. Lord, I just ask that you would show each of us individually what our part is in connection and in clearing with the decisions that we make intentionally and unintentionally. So we receive everything you want to give us. We receive your discipline. We accept your pruning. But we really, really, really, really, really, really, really want the flow. We want to bear fruit. We want to look at our lives and see that our fruit and our lives have counted for something. And we know that only what we do for Christ will last. So help us align ourselves with what will bless you, glorify you, and give us a little good in the process. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Um, one thing I forgot to tell y'all, because I don't even know if the team knows this, and then we're gonna jump off Inner Circle and a little bit more for y'all. Um, uh, I'm gonna be inviting you all to do a 21-day, um, consecration. I wrote it on a receipt. These are all the things that came to me when I was reading this book, so now I got to put it in my book. It's Brookshire's. I bought some Coke from Brookshire's. Lord said to me, we just— you just need to put me first. Make me priority. So the first 21 days, once we kick off the Inner Circle together— I'm doing my fast with my church this week, but it'll be 21 days of consecration, of setting yourself apart, of cleansing, and of recalibrating. I will give more details about what that means, and it'll be a kind of a choose-your-own-adventure, but the goal will be be so that you can hear clearly. It'll— that it'll be so that you can hear clearly. On Thursday night, I'm going to talk to you about the prerequisite for overflow. So I've talked to you about the alignment and how rhythms help you, but before the flip gets switched on, what has to— what has to happen? Who do you have to be? Okay, I'm going to talk about you, not what you do, but you on Thursday night. So more about those 21 days. Emily's like, what are you talking about, Chrystal? We haven't talked about this. Yep, here we go. Um, so here you go, more about that. Voluntary, but more about that coming soon, y'all. 2026, I don't know when I'm gonna see you again, but I do know that, um, like my daddy always says, I love you with my life and I covet your prayers for what God wants to do in me this year. Things are shifting because I'm supposed to have hands ready to receive. I'm doing my part to be in alignment. So until we meet again— till we meet— that sounds so sad, but it's, it is what it is. I love y'all. See you wherever I see you. All right, have a great January and a great 2026. Inner Circle girls, I'll see you in a minute.
