If you want abundance and beauty in your life, if you want things to grow, things to be beautiful and welcoming and peaceful, guess what you need? Boundaries, separation, and rhythms. Your home, in order to be a sanctuary, needs to have structure. Nothing will grow and be beautiful in your life if you don't have a setup. So if you are clueless as to where to begin with the setup that you need, let me give you a practical tip. Start with prayer. Ask God. Listen, if he took care to set the world up right, what makes you think he's not interested in setting your world up right? Start with God and say, what would be the one thing— Holy Spirit, show me and teach me— that would bring me a whoo-sa moment so I can live and be refreshed in the place I call home? So take 10 minutes to observe what feels off in your home, and then whether it's mornings, mealtimes, bedtime, laundry, paper, bills, whatever, and then ask, what is one simple rhythm that will allow me to reset and begin a routine that brings me peace? You can reset your life with rhythms and routines, not Type A, not perfectionistic, but rhythms that serve you so that you have less to think about, less to spend energy on, and to do more of what serves you in the place you call home.
