Chrystal Hurst answers Mickey's question about helping children find comfort in God. She says memorizing Scripture matters, but children learn the Lord's joy mainly by watching their parents live it, not from words alone.

Hi, it's another Ask Me Anything. Mickey wants to know, "How can I help my kids be happy when they're not? And how can I help them to know the comfort of the Lord just like I've come to know it when I'm down?" Listen, Mickey, it's great that you want your kids to be happy and it's great that you want them to know the comfort of the Lord, but let me tell you something. Short of teaching your kids God's Word, helping them memorize God's Word, the most important thing you can do, whether your kids are young or whether they're old, is to model the the joy of the Lord. If you have found happiness in God, they will learn more by what they catch by watching you than what you say to them with your mouth. So model it and watch them catch it.
