How to Create a Vision for Your Life

Chrystal Hurst walks through a framework for creating a life vision by asking reflective questions that help you backward-engineer your goals into a 12-month plan. She shares how everyday choices like picking shapewear or press-on nails reveal your decision-making patterns, then offers structured prompts to turn dreams into actionable steps.

Good morning, happy December. So, um, for the month of December, I'm here. I'll be going live every Monday, and I'm just gonna go live on YouTube. There's a few reasons for that. The reason I'm going live every Monday is because December is a month where I'm giving my team a break. Uh, just in case you stumbled here, hi, I'm Chrystal Hurst. It's nice to meet you. Um, in December I'm giving my team a break because most weeks, not only when I go live everywhere, do we then go down and pull down the videos after the fact, right? We have to archive everything. That's somebody's job to do that. But also on YouTube, we, um, after I go live with the Inner Circle, we take that video, we chop it up, we edit it, and then we put it back here every Sunday night. So that's a whole job as well. So to give them a rest and also to prepare for January and February, we are not doing all that. I just was like, I'm gonna go live in one spot and then we will, um, just leave it up. So the good news is, is that if you have to clock out because you're going to work, you're dealing with kids, you are, um, I don't know, taking a shower, you were walking with me and then you came home and take a shower or getting ready for the day, or maybe you are not able to focus on your 8 AM meeting because you were listening to Chrystal Hurst or there's no captions, so you need to listen when there are, it will stay up. The good news is if you're here, you catch all the things. So let me talk a little bit about what you need to know this morning. What you need to know this morning, first of all, is that sometimes you have to make choices. I want to talk about choices today. Oh my gosh, we girls have to make choices all the time. And, um, this weekend I had to make a choice. Let me tell you about the choice that I had to make this weekend. I remember when, when I was growing up, my mother would walk around the house, particularly on a Sunday morning, and I could hear her in the hallway. Did any of y'all have mothers like that? They may have been going to work, they may have been going to church, they may have been going to something fancy, but because they were wearing pantyhose and/or because they were wearing undergarments like, you know, that suck you up. Now everybody wants to wear SKIMS. Kim Kardashian has made SKIMS sexy. Like, everybody thinks it's okay to wear things that make you tighten right. But you know, when I was growing up, you wore undergarments like that because tighten right was a must after a certain age, and you wore a girdle, you know, or something like that. And so whether it was your pantyhose or whether it was the texture of the girdle, uh, I could hear my mother coming down the hallway and it was just, you know, shoo, shoo, shoo, shoo. It was just that sound. And I remember thinking, I will never wear any of that. I will never, um, wear any of that. Um, and you know, here I am, 50 years old with the things. I still don't enjoy them. I still don't want to spend money on them because they're not cheap. Um, but you know, it is what it is. So, uh, Saturday night I had to speak at an event here in Dallas, um, and I didn't have to speak. I was on a panel, but I knew that the dress that I wanted to wear needed me to be tight and right. So I put on this girdle. It's like a girdle dress, so it like is a t-shirt that turns into— it's like a mini dress, like a mini— it's like a mini dress. So y'all, let me tell you, when I bought this thing, I bought this thing when my sister Priscilla got married. She has been married now for 20 2 years. 22 years. Okay, 22 years. So, um, that thing don't fit, you know, but it still kind of sort of fits, kind of sort of, because, um, you know, it's a girdle, it's supposed to be tight. So it's still— and it stretches, you know, it's material stretchy, so I can— I could make it go on. The problem is it didn't want to stay on. Okay, so, uh, I see somebody in the comments saying, yeah girl, those things sometimes they roll down. Well, the problem is if you wear a dress, it doesn't roll down, it rolls up. So the only way to get it to stay down is to keep, you know, pulling it down. Like if you're wearing a little mini dress or a little mini skirt, you just pull it down, pull it down. That is not the problem. That is not the problem. That is not the problem. Yes, shapewear. I see you, Sony, in the comments. Shapewear is the new girdle. Girdle, you know, it sounds like curdle. It's not a pretty word. Shapewear sounds so much more, you know, delightful. Anyway, it's not delightful. It's still not delightful. So I, um, needed to pull it down. So right before the event started, I went to the restroom. I went to the restroom and The problem is, if y'all are following me and you know about my life last week, you know that on Monday I, um, Sunday on Instagram, all the places, because I've talked about it, I put on some nails, some press-on nails. Press-on nails are actually pretty amazing things. They're beautiful. I had some pretty, pretty, pretty press-on nails. And the only problem is that if you press them on, they're not designed to stay on, right? So you have to be careful about what you do with your hands. So I went to the bathroom to pull down my shapewear slash girdle dress, and I had on press-on nails. And as I decided to start shimmying that down, or attempting to shimmy it down— and these press-on nails were beautiful blue matte and long— so as I started trying to shimmy down the shapewear, I realized that I was gonna have to make a choice. Keep the nails on or pull the dress down. I was going to have to have beautiful hands and lose air by the second, because when it rolled up, it rolled onto my belly and it was tighter than it was supposed to be, because remember, it's shapewear. And it was old. So I'll either be uncomfortable all night but I'll have nails, or I will not have nails and I will be tight and right. So in the bathroom, I chose the nails, okay? I chose the nails. And, and And, um, and I walked out of the stall. Sidebar: have you ever gone into the bathroom to fix something? You didn't use the bathroom, you know what I mean? You didn't use the bathroom, and like there was a whole line of people washing their hands. But you didn't use the bathroom, you know? And in theory, you touch the knob of the stall, so you should wash your hands. And in theory, you might touch the door on the way out, right? But I didn't touch anything, and the, the sink was full, and I felt totally judged as I was making the decision not to wash my hands. I was like, you know what, I already washed my hands. I used my dress to open and close the door. I haven't touched anything. There's no handle on the way out. I'm not gonna touch anything. But as I was thinking about walking out, I thought, these women are judging me. They are totally judging me. Anyway, as I walked out of the stall though, I ran into my savior. So my niece, Alina, was standing there because we had both gone to the bathroom. I thought she had left, so she was standing there. And I said, oh my gosh, is anybody else in the bathroom? And she said no. And then I totally traumatized her. I lift up my dresses and, girl, pull this down. She was just— she just looked at me like, what? I said, girl, pull this down. I want to breathe and have nails. So she's traumatized, but everything else is fine. That shapewear girdle dress, whatever we want to call it, lasted the majority of the evening. Not the whole evening. It would have lasted if I would have sat still, but I had to get up and clap and sit down and then get up and clap and then sit down. Then I had to get up and go on stage, do the, the panel, and then, you know, sat down for that. And then I stood up and then I came back and then I sat down. So all that movement, it couldn't handle it. But for the majority of the evening, it stayed put. Yes, poor Alina. But we are all going to live. We are all going to live. This is what happens. You traumatize your children. You really do. You really do. All right, y'all, a couple things I want to tell you about, and then I'm going to jump into this morning's teaching. Here's how this is going to go. This is what's going to happen. So I am going live every Monday in December Um, normally I do that every first Mondays, but I'm going live every Monday in December. And, um, the reason, as I said earlier, for those of y'all who are new to the party, is because I want to give the team a break from editing and pulling things down and doing all the things. Um, but because we do still have an Inner Circle, and because I want to make sure they get their own extra-ness and extra Chrystal-ness and extra showness. Um, I am going to stop here no later than 7:44, and then Inner Circle girls, you have your private link. Okay, so I will stop here, then we'll go on the inside. I'll look a little bit more closely at the comments. We'll have our own little foolery, have a chance to talk about what I talked about this morning, and, um, you still get your specialness. Okay, so we're going to try that out. We were trying to figure out, do we go— do I go early with y'all and then everywhere with everyone else, or go with everyone else and then go in with y'all. We decided after the show, so y'all can give me feedback and tell me how you like it after today. Couple of announcements I don't want any of you to miss. Um, if you are like, what is the Inner Circle? Um, the Inner Circle is a membership with women who— yes, the podcast is out there, yes, the videos go out there, but they want more. They want to be intentional about their growth and development. They want more from me, they want more from friends, they want to live their lives well. Okay, so you can find out more about the Inner Circle simply by going to— if I can get my dashboard together here, Lord have mercy— here you go, chrystalhurtz.com/innercircle. That's where you can go. Um, this is a great time to be in the Inner Circle. Number one, I'm delivering audios, we're reading through the Book of Luke. Number two, we have sessions every week right now on Grief. Those sessions are available to two of our tiers, and the other session gets the replay. Number three, we are cooking together next Sunday night. We're gonna make some pumpkin bread together, have some fun, some foolery, and some convo that is needed. But the other reason why it's a good time to get into the Inner Circle is because in 2023 we are going to do a 90-day together where we talk about what it looks like to do a new thing in our life, to reinvent ourselves as necessary. And also, also, we'll be talking a little bit about getting your money right, because everybody that I know, including me right now, needs to get their money right. And so being in there and ready for the rollout of January 2023 is the best. Here's the other reason. This is new. Drum roll, please. I wish I had a drum roll. I'm gonna have to add a drum roll to my sounds that are available. I don't have a drum roll. I do have I do have— oh, let me turn that off. Oops. Okay, I don't have a drum roll, but I do have this. I have applause. I do have a bicycle horn. I do have a DJ. All right, we're excited. Yay! Here's the other reason why that you want to make sure you're in there. Here's the other reason why, y'all. Because, because, um, we are hosting an event January 6th and January 7th. The first people to register will be the Inner Circle. The first people to have access to preferred seating during the event is the Inner Circle. There will only be the option for a pre-event meet and greet. That meet and greet will only be for Inner Circle members. And if you can't be in the room or you can't afford to be in the room or to afford to buy a streaming ticket, because we're going to stream it, the only way to have everlasting access to the replay will be if you're in the Inner Circle. So we have a contract that we are waiting to receive today. As soon as I sign it, Inner Circle, you will get a link to purchase your ticket, whether you are going to come in person in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, or if you are going to stream online, if you want to attend live with us, um, the tickets will be available. My hope is within the next 24 to 48 hours, and that link will go first to the Inner Circle, and then after that, um, other people can join us if there's space. We are going for intimate. We are going for— this is basically a Coffee with Chrystal Hurst that I used to do every year. I would do it in person, and then the pandemic— my mother passed away and then the pandemic. So we've been doing it online. So we still wanted to offer the option for people to attend online, but we're going back to making it what we want it to be, and we will just go Inner Circle first, okay? And then if there's space left, then we'll let everybody else know. So that's another reason why the Inner Circle is a good thing. There's another thing I want you to know, whether you're in the Inner Circle or not, because we're rolling up on the beginning of the year. And because so many of you may have found— by the time this video goes live, you may have found your way to, um, to me because there's a video that now— I haven't looked this morning yet. Normally my videos, you know, get a few thousand views, but the one where I was on here crying, because apparently the crying got a lot of y'all. My dad makes fun of me for crying. He'd say, you're always crying, you're always emotional. I was like, well, apparently That's connective, so I'm gonna go with it. Um, let's see, the last time I checked, there's over 175,000 people who have watched that video, and because of that, we've had about 5,000 people who were not subscribed before to join. So you may be here for the first time. Um, and let's see here, I'm wondering Yeah, you may be here for the first time. So, uh, if you're here for the first time, in that video I was talking about writing and, um, there we go. That's what I want to do. And a lot of people said in the comments, they were like, how do I get the planner? And I did not go live to talk about the planner, but I'm putting that link here. Let me move this around. I'm moving things around, y'all, as we speak to make this work the way it needs to work. There we go. I'm moving this down, making it bigger so you can see. So for those of y'all who need to know, that's where you can get the planner, okay? And that's the other reason, is because when you're in the Inner Circle, we provide parts of it to you as a part of our 90-day, but we always make a hard copy available so that people who want to have it in their hands and not have to, you know, print different parts or miss certain parts. You can have the whole thing. So basically, the planner you can use on your own, but it is also something that you use when we go through the 90-day if you want to have your own hardbound copy. So I'll drop that there, and that's a great time to do that with us too. Okay, so enough about that because it's 7:22 and I'm only going to be here for till 7:44. Then after that, I'm jumping into the Inner Circle, and I do have something that I want to talk I want to talk to you about, y'all. My brain has been throwing up lately. Um, y'all know, Inner Circle, it's taking everything in me to not keep going with the foolery. You know it. But I'm saving some for you because my life apparently is full of foolery. Okay, this is my life, y'all. This is my— I'm trying to find a good page. Okay, the reason why, the reason why in my planner there's plenty of room to write is because this is my brain, and this is my brain. This is Chrystal Hurst basically, and I need room to write, right? I always need room to write. But I have more announcements for you girls if you're in the inner circle, by the way. I'll give those to you when we're on the inside. Okay, all right, let me see. Where's my stuff? Y'all know how this goes. You know how this goes. Jessica Sloan said, save it, save the foolery. I need laughter in my life at the moment. Me too, and how, and how. Okay, I'm looking for something because This is my life. This is my life. Anybody finish with their Christmas shopping? Anybody finish? And if you're finished, I hate you. I hate you. I love you with the love of the Lord, and I hate you. Okay, this is my whole situation. Mm-hmm. Looking for one little thing that I cannot find. Okay, it'll come back to me. It will come back to me. Uh, what are you drinking? Tell me in the chat while I'm getting my notes together. I'm loving this. Somebody's like, nope, haven't even started. I just feel like, oh my goodness, I want to get on a plane and go to Fiji. I can even take my family with me, but then that's about it. That's all I want to do. I want to go to Fiji. I don't want to put up a tree. I don't want to have to put up stuff that I have to take down. It's just a mess. Anyway, I'm not going to be— I'm not going to be Scrooge. I'm not going to be Scrooge. Here's what I'm looking for. What are you drinking? What are you drinking? Writing with Miss Brown said I should be drinking water. I am gonna pour my tea in just a second as soon as I find my notes. Ah, ah, here we go, here we go. Okay, tell me what you're drinking. I'm gonna pour my drink, I'm gonna clear my throat, and then we are gonna get going. Here we go. And the reason why I need my notebook, y'all, these are actually notes that I took after meeting with a friend for coffee. We said we were going to meet at 5, and then both of us got lazy. We didn't. We met at 7, but we were there from 7 to about 1:30. Um, we bartered time, 3 hours of my time 3 to 4 went to chatting with her about her life. Then she spent some time chatting about me with my problems. We bartered our energy. She's a creative, I'm a strategic. Um, and I say that to you because, um, I realize that sometimes the best way for us to think about our lives is to think about it with other people. So that's one of the reasons why we have the inner circles, because we realize that we girls are not good all the time. About— we're not good all the time about making the time and the space that we need to think and make decisions, to think and choose. One of the reasons why the planner exists is because some of us don't know what questions to ask to get the right answers out. And so the planner— like one of my girlfriends said, you're just talking, telling people the planner's available. You're not telling them why it's special. It's special because it's more than just what am I doing today. It is peppered with quotes from me and questions from me to help you think about your life. It's really not just a planner, it's a planner and it's part journal. I met with my girlfriend this weekend and this— these notes right here, actually these notes and then more on the next pages, are me taking notes about her life, about what she was saying to me. So what I want to talk to you about this morning is, um, I want to give you some questions so that you can develop a vision for your life. Or I want to give you some questions so that you can journal. Because I, again, I know that so many of you watch that writing video and you're like, yes, I need to write it down. But so many people said, but I don't know what to write down. I don't know what to write down. So I want to help you with that this morning, okay? I want to help you about that this morning so that way you don't even have to write it down. You don't have to Um, you don't have to think about what to say. I'm going to give you some things of what to say. And honestly, I mean, that's all really— that's the biggest thing that I do. I think the biggest thing that I do is help you to do what you already know you're supposed to do and what you just may need some prompts or some nudges in order to do, to do well and to do consistently. Basically, y'all, my dad is a preacher, right? Every Sunday morning— here we go, ASMR— every Sunday morning he preaches a sermon. Every Sunday morning. Why does he have to do that every Sunday morning? Why? Because we forget. Or because we need it this week, or because, you know, we got a little slack the week before. We need the regular reminder to— yes, to learn, yes, to grow, but also to be reminded of what we already know that we need to do. So there's nothing wrong with needing the reminder. That's the bottom line. There's nothing wrong with getting the reminder. Um, okay, so someone said in the comments. Chrystal Hurst, are you having a Christmas sale on the journals? You know what, um, they were on sale for Black Friday. We've talked about doing maybe a New Year's sale, but it's not in stone just yet, and I don't know when it's going to be, so I can't promise it. It's a maybe. It's a maybe. And for those people who join the Inner Circle and do it for the year, they make a year commitment at whatever level you are, you get them free. You get one if you're at one level, you get four if you're at another one. So that's an option to look into, but you'll see that when you get on the page. My shirt says Girlfriend Sister Chats Coffee Dates Community. I don't know if we have any of these in the store. If we do, we only have smalls. We're like out of these. Okay, all right. I'm fixing my hair. Okay, I'm gonna talk about hair after the show. I gotta stop talking. It's 7:30. Chrystal Hurst, let's go. Okay, all right, straighten up, fly right. Okay, here we go. Just in case we chop it up later. Uh, do you believe that you're supposed to journal in your life, write things down, create a record of your life so that you don't forget to look at your life, but you never can seem to make the time? Or worse, when you sit down with a paper and a pen, you don't know what to write down? Well, you're not the only one. Let's talk about it today. Hi, my name is Chrystal Evans Hurst, and if you're just following me here, whether you are coming to me from YouTube, Facebook, or Instagram, just know that I'm here every Monday going live inside of my inner circle so that we can grow and be better together. And then the buttoned-up version of that ends up on YouTube or Facebook so that other people can join in with a little of the fun and foolery cut out, join into the fun. Today I want to talk to you a little bit about— oh wait, I forgot. Um, if you're not already following me on Facebook or subscribe to my YouTube channel, make sure you're there on both and make sure you have your notifications turned on. Ding ding! Because if you don't, you may not know when I go live. All right, let's get into it. So this past Saturday, I went to a new coffee shop to me with a friend to sit with her. We were bartering time. She's a creative, I'm a strategic, and the goal was for me to listen to her and give her some next steps for growing her business. Her goal in listening to me was to give me next steps in being creative because I can be creative, but being creative by yourself is stressful and being creative on demand is stressful to me. So we spent 3 hours, 3 and a half hours thinking about her, talking about her, listening to her. And then we spent our remaining time with her giving me some ideas so I could hit the ground running this week. Loved every minute of it. We agreed to keep doing that together. I told her that I have a formula actually for this. It's a formula I kind of made up, except I don't think it's that novel. It's just, I didn't know anyone else did it until I did it for myself. Actually, I didn't even think about it until I did it for a friend, another friend at another time. Um, we were meeting, just catching up, talking about life. And I asked her a series of questions. Honestly, every time I meet with a friend, my questions change. They're catered to them, but they're of the same vein. And I told my first friend, listen, let's put a date on the calendar in 90 days and let's see if you've been able to make these things happen in your life because of what you say is important in your life and because of what you're telling me you're going to do in your life to make your life become the life you want. But here are your milestones for a month. Here are your milestones for 2 months. Here are your milestones for that 3rd month right before we get together for our 90-day checkup. That meeting became prompts on a piece of paper. Those prompts on a piece of paper became a design that I asked a designer to help me with. And then it became PDFs I gave my membership. Then we printed them and bound them at a local printer and it became a planner. Then I decided to level it up and then I sent it to a designer who only works on planners. And then we sent it to a shipping company and made thousands of them. And now it is a full-blown product we are making for sale everywhere. But it still comes back to the same process. And because I realized with that first friend and many friends in between that the process worked, I did it with the friend that I met with, my creative friend this past Saturday. And because I still am surprised that just by making time to think about your life and asking yourself questions, that so many things can be cleared up, decisions can be made, feelings can be felt, and movement can be experienced. I'm still awed by the fact that it works. I'm, I'm wanting always to make available to you what I make available everywhere. But I wanted today specifically to walk you through a few of the questions that I asked to my friend this Saturday, questions that I think will be applicable to everyone. And before I get into the questions, let me tell you why. Here's why. It's because one day you will have a hindsight 20/20 vision for your life. You will. You'll be 50 or 60 or 70 or 80, and at that moment, at that crucial moment where you're thinking about your life because you do have more time, or you do have more perspective, or you do have more bandwidth to see things that you never saw before. You will see your life in 2020, and if you are not intentional about thinking about your life right now, when you are 50, 60, 70, or 80, you will feel that very deeply then. You will think very long about it then. And if you don't think about your life now, then you'll wonder why you didn't make the time to do it. So yes, I believe in writing things down. Yes, I believe that whether you're a journaler or whether you just write down in your phone, in your notes, what happened today in 3 to 5 sentences, I believe that paying attention to your life is a game changer. And it's a game changer at any time in your life, but the earlier you start it, the better. I realize though that some people are overwhelmed by that, or they look at their journals and think, as they write things down, I'm only recording the negative stuff, you know, I'm only— or it's only a gratitude journal, that it's one-dimensional. Here's what I want to tell you about writing things down. And y'all, for years I was too busy, my kids were too small to sit down and journal every day. So literally, the record of my life is what I did today. It is my checklist. It's where I spent my time. And maybe what I'd write at the bottom of the list is one fun memory I didn't want to forget. The format of how you write down things in your life isn't as important as the fact that you do record it, because one day you'll wonder how you've spent your days. The Bible tells us to teach us to number our days. It also tells us— the psalmist said to God, please Please order my steps. I don't want to take haphazard steps. I don't want to waste my time. I don't want to go a wrong way and have to come back from that and make up time that I've lost. I don't want to look back at my life on that day when I'm 50, 60, 70, 80, or 90 and think I squandered the best gift that I have, and that's the time that you've given me. So the best way to think forward is to try to think backward about when I hit that season in my life and look back, what do I hope that I see? What do I hope that I see? And that's your first question. Don't think about what your life looks like right now. Doesn't matter. When you're 50, 60, 78, or 90 and you look back, what do you hope that you see? You can write down one thing, you can write down 3 things, you can write down 7 things. It doesn't matter how many things you write down. What matters is that you're beginning to look at your life in reverse, because ultimately you want to backwards engineer your life. The beauty of following God is that you have the Bible that gives you some tips for backwards engineering your life, for things you may not know yet. It's like listening to wisdom of someone who's lived a long time and them telling you as you live your life what pitfalls to watch out for, what decisions you should make. That's the beauty. Of the Bible. But there are some things that the Bible doesn't talk about. It doesn't say, you know, whether you— whether you should be, you know, low cholesterol diet or not, and how you need to take care of your health. But you can look at your body right now and say, based on what I know to be true right now, when I look back, this is what I hope is my story. You can do that. What do I hope my life will look like when I look back on my time? Sometimes people don't even have the answer to that, and that's okay. So here's where the questions come in that I was asking my friend, okay? And this is a little bit, just so you know, of what we do in the Inner Circle. I'm constantly giving you things to do that help you to look at your life, and then I give you journeys to take and experiences to take so that you'll actually do the work, that you'll be encouraged to do that, that I show up in your inbox or in your ear reminding you of what you need to do. Okay, um, I am not a project manager by trade. I do know a thing or two about it because I believe that once you've been a mom, if you've managed your home like you manage a business, then you probably know a thing or two about setting out goals and backwards engineering the milestones and communication and making sure that your team is on board and how you have to expect only what you inspect. And you have to backwards engineer the end result and look at what it takes to get a clean bathroom. What does it take to get a clean bathroom? Bathroom. Okay, well, we have to touch the tub, we have to touch the toilet, we have to touch the sinks, we have to touch the floor. When we touch each one of those things, what is the list of things that has to be done in order for that thing to be clean, in order for Mom to say y'all finished the job? So you list those things out, you assign each one of those to somebody, you put a date on it. This is basically private project management, right? Um, one of the reasons why in our store we have a practical productivity course is because people ask me all the time, Chrystal Hurst, how do you do it all? And one of the ways I do it is I manage my home like I manage my business. Sometimes I manage my business like I manage my home. And the reality is the two coincide. And to be productive about any project, you start with the end in mind, right? Some of y'all are project managers, you know this to be true. And you backwards engineer the end result down to the steps that each thing takes, the dates you want those due, dovetailing them into the next part of the project or the next milestone that has to be done. It's like dominoes, and you build it up thinking about where you want to end, you backwards engineer it, and then all you do is you start, you hit that first domino, and the process should just move forward. This is what it looks like in your life to think about your life. You backwards engineer it, whether you're backwards engineering your family, your personal life, your work, your space, or your spiritual life. Because if you want to be a spiritual giant, what do you have to do? Backwards engineer that into Bible study. If you want to be a great mother, you have to backwards engineer the accolades that you want with the memories that you create. If you want to be a great boss, you have to backwards engineer what you hope people will say about you or the results that you want for your business into the expectations that you have today. So I talk a lot about that in that course, but a lot of times we don't know how to do that. We don't. So the questions, some questions that I want to share with you today, some additional questions I want to help you do that. Okay. I want you to help. I want to help you do that. One, this is an easy one to start with y'all. What's bothering you the most? What's bothering you the most? Just think about the last thing that irritated you, that drove you crazy. Next question: What's giving you the most joy or making you happy right now? The last time you smiled, the last time you laughed. Okay, then I want you to just dream. What do you want your life to look like? This is a great time to do this, right? We're at the end of 2022, going into 2023. It's a great time. Not even the goal set. I don't even want you to goal set. That's where a lot of us get stuck because we set goals and then we fail, and then we don't keep up with them, and then we feel like we're jacked. And then by March, our resolutions have gone to pot because we didn't follow through. I'm not talking about resolutions, and I'm not talking about checking boxes. I'm talking about your dreams. Dreams are thinking forward, thinking forward about what do you hope happens in your life. Look at your life, just think, what is it, what is it supposed to look like? What are the biggest blocks towards your dreams? What's getting in the way? Once you answer those questions This is where you start your backwards engineering. This is what we help you to do in the Inner Circle. We don't just want to give you the question and let you go. And for some of us, that's enough. For some of us, we can't do that. And I did not realize that, which is, which is why the Inner Circle exists, because I want to be helpful. So once you answer those questions and you have an end in mind, okay, once you have an end in mind and you look at the list, what you start doing with each of those items on the list is saying How do I get there? What, what can I do in the next 12 months that will help me to get there? What will help me in the next 12 months to get rid of what's bothering me? What will help me in the next 12 months to have more joy? What will help me in the next 12 months to take a step towards my dream? What will help me in the next 12 months to remove the blocks? What will help me? And you just have to sit there Listen, you get a drink of choice. This right now is, you know, my hibiscus tea. I've been on this for a while. And I'm gonna log off in just a minute, y'all. It's time to go to the Inner Circle. But you think about it. But listen, I had a friend tell me when I was struggling to write, like write a book, she said, let me tell you what you need to go do. She said, you need to go see a counselor or spend dedicated time with a friend. Then you need to go to a place where you feel safe, cozy, warm, cool, whatever floats your boat. And then you need to get a glass of wine so it all comes out. Whatever works for you, okay? What I'm telling you is that you just have to be honest with yourself. Keep being honest with yourself. Half of the battle is knowing what you're aiming for. Half of the battle is knowing what you're aiming for. So my encouragement to you today is write it out. Spell it out, dream it out, be honest. Have a little spot, doesn't matter where it is. We have a planner if you want it, but if you don't have one, it doesn't matter. Get a spiral notebook, write it out, okay? And then backwards engineer, backwards engineer. What does it take for you to get there? I'll be here. I said every Monday in December, not the one after Christmas, but I'll be here today, next Monday, and the Monday after that, and then the first Monday in January. And then, y'all, I'm going silent for January because in December my team gets a break. In January I get a break. All right, y'all, I hope that's been a blessing to you. I hope it gives you something to do this week. Inner Circle girls, you ready? I'm about to log off here. And jump into our after the show. Let's talk a little bit more about what we've been talking about this morning, okay? I'll see you on the inside. And if you're here and you're not in the Inner Circle, that's okay. I'll see you next Monday. All right, peace out.
