September Gratitude

Chrystal Hurst gives thanks for September, for life and body even when imperfect, and for God's unchanging nature. She asks for help casting cares onto God, for discernment between her desires and His will, and for the community to experience His provision and overflow.

I want to open us up with a word of prayer because we want to be thankful. God, I thank you for this month, even though we're in the middle of it. I thank you that we have lived to see September. I thank you that we, um, are in our minds and in our bodies. And even if our minds aren't the way we want them to be and we need some ashwagandha, even if our bodies are not the way we want it to be and we need to go walking, but I thank you that we're in our bodies and every day we get to choose. I thank you that you have not left us without instruction. That we can go to your word, that we can spend time with you in prayer, that we can experience your guidance and your care, and that even when life is hard and even when we don't have answers, that you are with us. I thank you that going into this season is a repeat because you are faithful, that every winter, spring, summer, and fall you allow the seasons to change. Every morning you cause the sun to rise and every evening you cause it to set, that you set the world into motion and into order. And we get to enjoy that. We plan our days by that. We plan our time and our lives by that. Because you are the same yesterday, today, and forever. So we celebrate who you are because regardless of what we do or regardless of how we're doing, you remain the same. We can set our clocks by you. And I'm so grateful that you are mindful of us, that you are thinking about us, that you know even when we have our hair in braids or in locs or we finally do it ourselves, you know the number of hairs on our head and we don't have to worry about our provision. We may, we may not always get what we want, but you are so faithful to provide for us. So thank you for meeting our needs, and thank you sometimes for giving us our wants. I ask this morning that as we have a little bit of a good time, bring a little levity into the life that we're living, and then we share and talk about some things that will help us to move our life forward. I just ask, God, that you would watch over us and keep us, take care of us. And when we are worried about our care, help us to simply trust in you, to cast our cares, to throw, to toss our cares to you because you care for us, and that you will supply all of our needs according to the riches in scripture and in glory, Lord. I thank you that no matter what we are facing today, that we can do all things because you strengthen us to do them, all the things that you intend for us to do, and help us to be able to decipher between what we want and what you want for us so that we can live for your glory, and the overflow of that can be for our good. Thank you, Lord. In Jesus' name, in Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Okay, praise the Lord, saints. Praise the Lord.
