Hey y'all, welcome back to our Dream Builders Workshop. This is day 2. It's Tuesday. And if you're just now joining me, you are smack dab in the middle of our experience this week of dreaming together. So I'm here live every Monday with my inner circle and every first Monday I'm live everywhere with everyone. But this week I'm live every day because I want to invite you into an experience that I believe can really change the trajectory or give you confidence in your planned trajectory for 2025. So I'm happy that you're here, and I'm glad that you're going to dive in with dreaming with me again today. So yesterday we kind of had a wide open dreaming day. I just asked some big questions to get you revved up and thinking about your life. Today I want to get more specific. I want to encourage you to spend some time thinking about and dreaming about your future. Now here's the deal, y'all, your dreams can be wild, okay? They don't have to be, um, edited. They don't have to be things that you don't know how to make happen. Dreaming means dreaming, and that means the sky is the limit. But I want to guide you into a couple of areas specific about your future, um, not more than a couple, 3 or 4, and invite you to write down the thoughts that come to mind. The key is Write. Even when you run out of things to say, write. Even when you're embarrassed by what comes out of your pen, write. Even if you think, man, I don't even know if this can come true, write. Because the things that you write down are powerful, not only to teach you what you might really want, but also to give you the reality of pen to paper to participate in making it happen. So our first area of futuristic thinking today is going to be Money, honey, because most of the things that we do, many of the things we spend our time invested in, it has a lot to do with the money we receive in exchange for our time so that we can intentionally live a life that we love. It has to do with, um, deciding— and we'll talk about this later this week— but what are the things you're passionate about, and who are the people you're passionate about, and what are the things you dream of doing that then you got to ask for time off of work to do because you need the money save from your job and the time let off of your job to go and enjoy. So we're going to think about money, and I want you to let the sky be the limit. What are your financial goals? What amount of money do you want to have in your bank by when? What amount of money do you think you're capable of making? How much do you want to have saved? When do you want to retire? What is your money pain point right now? And And how do you think you could get rid of it? Do you have a side hustle that you want to make a real major thing? Is, is creating a secondary area of income how you gain financial freedom? What is financial freedom to you? How much is enough? We spend so much of our time thinking about how to make money. I want you to think about what you really want. How much is enough? When do you want to have it? And what will make you think, okay, I had a plan and the plan worked. What are your financial goals? What are your financial dreams? Get your pen and let's write it down. Okay, right about now I'm feeling a little frivolous. This first world goals and dreams and problems, um, and I'm kind of having to force myself to think beyond my financial goals that meet my need, you know what I'm saying? Like, um, being able to max out my retirement account. Like, I'm trying to think bigger. And if I'm honest, I feel a little spoiled about the things that I'm writing down here. But remember, dreams should feel that way. Dreams should feel like beyond enough, um, beyond the basic, beyond the need. You're just dreaming. So I'm sitting here trying to not self-edit. You don't self-edit either. Okay, okay. Okay, how'd that go for you? I'm not going to lie, I ran out of financial goals. I actually had to transfer my thought about money into a thought about what money can buy. Because at the end of the day, it's not just about having a dollar amount in the bank. It's about what you exchange your life for to have the money in the bank so that you can then do the things that you would like to do with your life. So that transferred for me into things to do with the money and not necessarily the amount of money, because money has value in a lot of different ways. Giving it away, enjoying vacations, taking trips, doing things in your home, the car that you need. So if you were struggling thinking dollars, I have no more dreams about dollars, just think that money is about dollars and also the things that dollars can buy. And if you need more time, you can come back to this video and always do the replay and dream some more. But now I want to switch gears and talk about another area of dreaming as it relates to your future. Um, let's talk about our careers. Now you might have a career that you're currently in and you are already thinking about the next promotion. Where you're headed, the job you ultimately want to get. I'll never forget when I went to work at my first job at Arthur Andersen. I was one of the Big Six accounting firms back in the day. If you were going to stay there for any length of time and be somebody, the end goal was partner. And you may be on that kind of career track where you're thinking, if I keep going, how far can I go? Some of us are just trying to get a job, you know what I'm saying? And we're trying to figure out of the jobs that we could get, what kind of job we want. You know, is it an hourly job? Is it a part-time job? Is it a full-time job? Is it a job in retail? Is it a job in the restaurant industry? So dreaming a little bit about the kind of job you'd like. But career is bigger than job. Career, I would say to a woman who's at home with her children and chooses to be at home, career is— and I never forget, I read a book called Professional Motherhood about being at home with your children or for your family to have that base? What are your goals for your home? What do you need to get in order? What do you want to do a good job of? What are the things that need to be done? So thinking about career in terms of what you do every day is one way to think about it, paid or not. Another way to think about career is, is thinking about education, how you're going to grow yourself, prepare yourself for the thing that you want to do for your, for your time. You might be working somewhere now that is not where you plan to work later. And as soon as you get this degree that you're working on, you're going to apply for a job in your field. Maybe you have been working as an administrative assistant in one spot, but you've been going to school to be a counselor because you really want to devote your time. Well, your goals have to do with finishing school, finishing that practicum, getting your licensing and training, and then finding clients. Like, that's a part of your dream. So I want you to think about career, but career is a bigger umbrella for what you do with your time, how you're productive, where you work, how you generate income, or how you support others who are generating income. If you happen to be a person who's at home while others go out to work, and if you are just thinking, I just need to do whatever I can do to get to retirement, that's okay too. Think about how you spend your days, okay? Think about how you spend your days, okay? And what you're aiming to do with the majority of these days that you have as a human being who's productive on the planet. And dream a little bit about what you'd love to do where you'd like to grow and where you'd like to go for your professional life. Okay, ready? Here we go. Okay, money, career. Whether you're making money or saving money, whether you're going out to work for the money or you are keeping the home fires burning, making sure the money doesn't go out the back door, these two connect. Um, and thinking about what the goals are that you have financially or for your future career. Um, you, you don't have to, you can, but you don't have to be where you are and think that you can't make a pivot. You can always pivot. As long as you're breathing, you can pivot and make a change if that's what you desire. So now I wanna, with that thought, take a turn and I'd love to think a little bit about where you're located. Um, now this may take you on a little bit of a journey because some of you, like me, are located where you want to be. Um, I'm in Texas. I wasn't born but definitely raised. I'm not trying to go anywhere else. However, I would like to travel. I would like to see the world. I would like to do some different things. And so location for me involves my money and my work because Most of us have boundaries on how long we can be gone. Even if you want to be located in a new home, you have to think about where that will be and what you can afford. Most of us, if we even wanted to think about moving one day to be in a town closer to family or maybe away from family, you have to think about the implications of that for your daily work and your commitments and the implication of that for your finances. So now we're going to be thinking about location. Where do you want to be? Are you happy in the house you're in, in the city you're in, in the state you're in? Um, are you content with the amount of time you get to spend away from home? What would enable you to have the kind of lifestyle where you get to travel a little bit more and see the sights? Um, think about how you experience the world and how you want to experience the world. As the days and the years tag along. So wherever you are now in your life, whether you're 65, 45, or 25, where do you want to be located? Where's your home? Where do you want to travel? Because the world is big, it's beautiful, make the most of it. So location is it. It's time to dream. Okay, so I have devolved into all the places I want to travel. Not bad. Not a bad idea. And the reality is, you know, many of us are either happy where we are, or it doesn't matter where we are as long as we are with the people that we want to be with and we're living the life that we want to live. But it doesn't mean that you can't think about it. I mean, I even wrote down a little bit of the fact that in my future I want to be living with my— one of my children I don't want to be in a nursing home. Like, I'm thinking about that, that far out. So again, dreaming is about as far as your mind will take you. There are no rules. It's just me giving you a category and a space and a question to generate thought. Um, maybe you want to visit all 50 states if you're in the US. Maybe you want to make sure you make it to all the continents. The sky is the limit. So think about house, location, travel, space, and just write. Okay, just a few more minutes. Okay, we cannot think about our future. We can talk about finances all day, we talk about career, education, personal development, location, travel, your house, uh, where you want to be, what kind of place you want to live in, you know. All the thoughts, all the ideas, we're just dreaming, right? But none of this works if your body isn't cooperating. None of this works if you are not well mentally and emotionally and physically. So while we, um, we'll, we'll, we'll save spiritual for another day this week, I want you to think about your house. The house that God gave you to maneuver around this world in. This is the house that God gave you to make wealth with. This is the house that God gave you to, to have a productive life. This is the house that God gave you to travel in. This house right here. And if your body isn't right, if your head isn't right, if your heart is not right, all those things will stop you from moving forward. And I realize that we're all not simply thinking about getting healthy and going to a gym. I realize that some of us have chronic conditions and it's actually difficult to think about what our house, physical house, would allow us to do, or some of us are struggling emotionally. You still get to dream, and no matter what circumstance you find yourself in, you still get to maximize and be intentional about living fully. So it might simply be losing weight. That's the story of my whole life. But it also may be doing whatever it takes to be mentally and emotionally okay and dreaming about what it looks like to not be depressed, dreaming about what it looks like to not be anxious. What would you do if you weren't afraid? Um, um, and so I want you to think about your body, fast forward your life 10, 20, 30 years. I want you to think about your mind. I want you to think about your heart, and I want you to think about being in a place where you are holistically healthy and able to move through your life to accomplish all these things that you want to do. So let's dream about what it looks like to be your best you. Ready? Let's do it! Okay, so I don't know what you have down on your paper so far, but I'm like, eh, my physical goals involve the same goals I've had forever. But, um, what I do know from experience is that when I have in the past written things down and put them in a place where I can focus on them, my decision-making changes. Emotional well-being and mental well-being. For some of us, some of us are very mentally and emotionally self-aware, and some of us are like, what? What? And I'm having to think about that a little bit, actually. Like, what does it look like? How will I know that I'm mentally in a good place or emotionally good place, and, and, and what's even beyond that. Um, so I want you to keep it simple because sometimes dreaming is not so much about things that are way out, they're just not currently accessible as much as you would like for you. Um, emotional well-being to me looks like a lot of laughter. And a lot of fun and a lot of joy and a positive, grateful attitude. And if I think I'm not in the place I want to be, and if I'm dreaming about who I want to be, maybe right now I'm complaining too much or there's too much negativity, then dreaming about the emotionally and mentally healthy Chrystal Hurst, just like I have a number for the scale, I can pinpoint it. I'm challenging myself to think about What does pinpointed emotional and mental health look like? And my answer is basic: laughter, joy, positivity. So I want you to feel free to not have dreaming be something that seems way out. It can be super simple, super accessible, but maybe you're just not exactly where you'd like to be. So dream far, dream near, dream basic, just dream. So we're on our way. Just keep writing. Okay, this marks the end of day 2. You have spent time today thinking about your future, whether that be career, your finances, location, where you want to be, how much you want to have saved, the goals that you have for your, your business, the doctorate degree that you want to get, the degree that you want to finish. Um, how you want your home to be organized, your family to be taken care of, where you want to transport— maybe this isn't your final home— where you want to vacation— Fiji is calling me— and how you want to be physically, mentally, emotionally when you get to all these places that are along your dream destinations. I, I want to congratulate you because most people don't do this. We just do the next thing and we let other people define for us what comes after our current moment. I really believe that, you know, when Jesus told the disciples, um, go and spread the gospel all over the world, most of the time that he spent with them, they were within a few hundred miles of Jesus' hometown. They didn't go very far. So when he gave them, um, direction, he said, now go to places you've never been to. Do what I'm telling you to do and go to places you've never been to. And I want to congratulate you on dreaming on places that you may not have even really given serious thought to before, um, to go. And again, in all these different areas, some of these places you may not go But some things only happen when you decide to think outside the box, and many things in life only happen when you take some time to have your brain go to places it doesn't usually. So I'm a little in awe and maybe a little bit apprehensive about some of the things I've put on paper, but if life isn't just a little bit scary and a little bit out of the box, then maybe we're really not living. So congratulations on dreaming bigger and maybe dreaming a little further than you normally do, um, because maybe that's how you get to places you would not normally get to. Now, I'm all about dreaming, and I love all the things that I put down on paper, but it's a lot of things so far, and it's just day 2. A dream without a plan is just a wish. And this Dream Builders Workshop, it's here. You can come back, you can watch it as often as you want, but I'm I'm taking the next step next week with my VIPs. Who are my VIPs? Those are the women who have either purchased a planner— they want the tool that goes with planning for your dreams— or they're in the Inner Circle and they have joined and are invested in a community and in a place where they can continue to receive coaching from me. And so both of those women have already said, by virtue of their purchase or their investment in their membership, that they want to be intentional about moving things forward. And I want to take all these dreams, the cacophony all the things we've conjured up. And I want to say, okay, now what do we do with that? And how do we make those things be meaningful and actionable in 2025? So if you're not already in one of those two groups, I'm inviting you to join. So grab your planners while they're left, join the Inner Circle, and you can find out about doing either one or both of those by going to chrystalevanshurst.com/dream. And regardless of whether you are going to be a VIP and join me in our next week's deep dive Just know that I'll be happy to see you tomorrow. All right. See you then.
