A reflection on saying yes to God and protecting what grows from that commitment. The speaker compares a season of calling to pregnancy's first trimester, when you guard it carefully and stay silent so the promise doesn't get lost. Obedience often goes unrecognized until its fruit matures over time.
Chapters
One thing I always say is that in steps of obedience, everybody's not going to get it. And sometimes you just have to let the fruit of your yes speak. There's two things, right? Like, it could be discouraging to you because people aren't agreeing. And so I was really, really careful. Like, that season of my life, I always say I've never been pregnant, but I had a lot of friends who've been pregnant. But I treated that season like a first trimester, like a mother would a first trimester. She doesn't eat everything, she doesn't go everywhere, she's really, really careful, she doesn't tell anybody. And that's the same way I treated that season because I couldn't allow myself to miscarry what God had entrusted me.
