The lyric video for Claire Hayek’s song “Immortal” presents a poetic meditation on the fragility of the world and human experience. Speaker A describes the world as a delicate speck under the sky, noting how inner light fades, and how people suffer, chase time, and fall out of love. Speaker B echoes these motifs, repeating lines about growing out of touch, suffering, and chasing time, emphasizing a sense of craziness. The piece culminates with a hopeful vision of unity under the sun, questioning what happens if we fall or come undone, suggesting a yearning for togetherness despite the world’s pain.

Chapters

The world is so frail underneath the sky. The world is so frail, stars in our eyes. And that light we hold on to deep within is slowly fading. Growing out of touch, we suffer way too much. Chasing after time, falling out of line. The world is so frail, tiny speck of dust. The world is so frail, beauty and mistrust. The world is insane, can't get enough. The world is in pain. Falling out of love.
Growing out of touch. We suffer way too much. Chasing after time. Falling out of line. Growing out of touch. We suffer way too much. Chasing after time. Falling out of line. The world is so crazy.
Yeah. Underneath the sun, not dead. A dream of a world where we are one. What if we fall? What if we come undone?
'Cause I believe that one moment will come. We suffer way too much chasing after time, falling out of line, blowing out of time. Which we suffer way too much. Chasing after time, falling out of line. And I believe one moment at a time, that one moment will help us, will help us come alive. And I believe one moment at a time, that one moment will help us, will help us come alive.
