Ethan Khoza teaches a 12-shot drill from the left wing that varies entry angle, pass timing, and momentum to build consistency in game situations. Set a target like 8 of 12 makes, cycle through the shots until you hit it, then finish with catch-and-shoot reps for confidence.

So here's two things you're going to notice about these clips right here. All of these shots are coming from the left wing, so about the same spot, but each shot is still a little bit different. Whether it's the angle of where the pass is coming from, the speed or momentum or direction that Clay is moving into that shot, or even just the exact spot in the left wing, all that is changing from shot to shot. No. 2 shot is going to be exactly identical. And there's a certain level of variability from shot to shot that if you want to be a great in game shooter, you have to be able to adapt to and still thrive in those different situations. This ability to adapt from shot to shot in a similar situation is called execution variability. And if you want to be an elite shooter, then you need to train this ability a lot. We do this by adding variability from shot to shot within our workouts. So in this video, I'll take you through a shooting workout that you can do that trains this quality that you're going to need if you want to be an elite in game shooter. So we're going to go the 12 shot series right here. And the way that you can do this can either make it just a drill or you can turn this into a full workout. But we'll go through different shots here that challenge your direction, momentum as well as the speed of your shot. The first shot we'll go with is a back pedal catch and shoot three where you start in the mid range before getting back behind that three point line. For the next one we'll go the opposite way, so you'll sprint into your shot. After that you'll relocate from left to right into that shot. And then the next one you'll go from left to right, relocating into that shot. Next we'll go with a little pin down action where now you're running out into that shot. Next we're going to simulate a pass coming from the right side where you'll just bounce it, then grab it. And then on the next one, we'll simulate that pass coming from the left side where you'll bounce it, grab it, get into your shot. Now we'll shoot at different speeds, so on this first shot, it'll just be your normal speed on a catch and shoot. On the next one, you're going to shoot the ball as fast as you can from when you first touch the basketball. And then on this last shot, you're just going to shoot it as slow as possible. And then for these final two shots, we'll go with a shot fake into a left dribble into a shot, and then a shot fake into a right dribble. The goal with this should be to challenge yourself, so you might give yourself a goal of making a certain amount of shots out of that 12. Maybe you need to go 8 for 12 or 9 for 12 or 10 for 12 before you can move on to the next spot. Or maybe you give yourself a goal of making a certain number of shots at each spot. So for example, your goal is to make 20 shots at a spot and you keep on cycling through these 12 shots one after the other until you hit your goal of 20 makes. Ultimately, it's completely up to you and how you decide to challenge yourself with this. You also can feel free to add or take away shots from this, depending on the type of shots that you shoot or the spots on the floor that you like to shoot from. But get creative with it. Be willing to challenge yourself and I promise you that you're going to see results when it comes to making more shots in games. That all being said, at the end of shooting workouts, I'm still a fan of just getting up, catch and shoot shots over and over again just to see the ball go through the basket, get a good feel for the ball going through the basket, and ultimately build your confidence even more. So after you've gone through that if you want to get more shots up, that's pretty much something I do in all of my workouts.
