FULL 7 Minute At-Home No Dribbling Workout - Ball Handling and Hand Speed Workout

A guided 7-minute at-home basketball workout by Ethan Khoza focused on ball-handling and hand-speed drills that require no dribbling. The session uses a basketball and a tennis (or similar) ball and walks viewers through progressive fingertip warm-ups, taps, around-the-body wraps (waist, legs, head), figure eights, one-leg/two-leg wraps, spiders (toss-and-catch patterns), and tennis-ball clap-behind-the-back catches. The video is intended to be played in real time so viewers follow along; it concludes with a call-to-action to join a free private training group and to subscribe/comment.

One of the most essential qualities you need to have if you want to be a winner, if you want to be successful, is the mindset and the determination that no matter what your circumstances are, you're going to get the work done. This is especially crucial in a time like this. But the people who decide that they're going to find a way to get it done are the ones who are going to succeed down the line. How you do anything is how you do everything, and it's no different when it comes to getting your workouts in. Today we're going to go through a workout that you can do without dribbling the basketball. And all you're going to need is one basketball and one tennis ball. I understand a lot of you guys might not be able to get out of the house right now, and that's okay. You guys might not be able to dribble in the house. I know for a lot of people that's true. And if that's the case, this workout is going to be really good for you. We're going to get in some work. We're going to work on our hand quickness. We're going to really look to push the speed that we can do these drills, and this is going to allow us to work on a couple things that a lot of times we don't usually work on. This workout's a little different because you're not just going to watch this video and then go do it later. You're going to get this video, get your headphones, get your speaker, whatever, and you're going to play this video and do the workout along with me. So once you go, grab your basketball, grab your tennis ball, if you know a tennis ball, grab a baseball, a lacrosse ball, a bouncy ball, whatever, it doesn't matter. You're going to grab those two things and you're going to play this video and you're going to follow along with me. So now the excuse of not having the space or not having the time to get your workouts done going to fly anymore. Once you have your basketball and your tennis ball, get locked in and let's get into it. Let's get started with some back and forth squeezes right here. Really warming up those fingertips, getting ourselves ready to go. You want to make sure that you really move the ball quickly back and forth between each hand, and like you see me here just squeezing a bit right back and forth. Then we're going to transition right into some taps. So. So now you're just kind of tapping it out in front of yourself. You can stretch it out, you can move it up and down. Nothing set right now, but really getting warm up those fingertips. And then we'll transition into a little more movement in a second. Now we're going to go up and down taps. So you see me starting low, going up high, keeping those arms stretched out. Really having to control that basketball with my fingertips. Now you see me going around the waist. Pick whichever direction you want to go first. Really push yourself with these guys. You know, I want you guys to mess up as often as possible. Like I always say, when you mess up, that means that you're pushing yourself. That's how you get better being outside of your comfort zone. Now we're going to switch directions after 15 seconds. Again, continue to push yourself. You know this is a quick workout, but you really want to start feeling that burn. You want to push yourself so that you get better. Here now going around the legs, around the knees. So you see me here really trying to pick up that speed as the workout keeps on going. Now we're going to switch directions. Same thing. Now we're going with around the head wraps. So again, try and pick up that speed. Really control that basketball. You're going to start feeling at this point if you're pushing yourself. And now switch directions. And now we're going to combine all three. Going around the head, around the waist and then around the legs. We're going to go the same direction for the first 15 seconds and then we'll switch it up. Switching directions. Now continue to push yourself. See, there we go, losing the ball. It's okay if you lose the ball. That means that you're pushing yourself. Now we're going to go around the left leg and I'm going backwards first. Really trying to push that speed. Stay nice and low in an athletic stance. Now we're going to switch directions. Alright, switching that right leg. Now guys can continue to push yourselves. You can start feeling the burn a little bit in your legs and your arms. We'll get a break in a little bit, but for now make sure you push yourself to get better. Switching directions now. And good. Take a quick little breather. Shake those legs out. Shake those arms out. Let's keep pushing it, guys. Now we're going to head into figure eights. So as you see, I'm just wrapping the ball around my legs in the shape of an eight. Now we're going to switch directions. Go reverse figure eights. And these are going to be a little more difficult. But again, we want to find those Weaknesses, and we want to push through them. Don't get discouraged. Just continue to push yourself. All right, now we're going to head into our one leg, two leg wraps. So you're going to start with your legs together. You're going to wrap it around. Then you're going to pick whichever leg you want to first. You're going to move that back and then wrap it between your legs. And you're going to keep alternating legs going the same direction as you see me doing it right here. Then you're going to switch directions, do the same exact thing, continuing to alternate your legs. The only thing that's different now is the balls going a different direction. Now we're going to get into our spiders, so we're just tossing this ball and you're going to start. As you see my hands right here, one's going to go in front, one's going to go behind, and you're going to keep alternating which one is doing which. Trying to keep that ball from hitting the ground, trying to keep it up in the air. Really working on that hand speed. Now we're gonna go grab the tennis ball to finish it out. We're gonna work on some more hand quickness. And all you're gonna do, you're gonna take that ball in your right hand first. You're gonna toss it in the air, you're gonna clap behind your back and then catch it with your right hand again, just. We're gonna be able to be quick with the ball, quick with our hands. This is something that's gonna help translate offensively with your ball handling, also defensively as well. Having quick hands is a very, very underappreciated skill, and it's not something a lot of players work on. So if you don't have access to traditional dribbling drills right now, use that time to work on different sorts of skills that you might not usually work on. We're switching that left hand now. And again, I'm pushing myself. A lot of you guys are going to find it more difficult with your offhand, but again, that's weakness, something that I can get better at. I want you guys to approach it the same exact way. Even without the ability to dribble the basketball, we can still work on our handles, and we can also use this time to work on different skills that we might not always get to work on.
