Basketball is all about making shots. And if you want your shot making ability to transfer from practice into games, then you need to make sure that you practice being able to shoot while you're tired. During the game, you're going to be expected to make shots after playing defense. After sprinting the floor, you're not always just going to be standing around waiting to catch and shoot the basketball. So this workout is going to target your ability to shoot the ball while you're tired, to shoot the ball while your legs are fatigued, and overall take a lot of game shots, get a lot of game reps at a very high intensity. Most of these drills are for time instead of makes or shots taken. So make sure that during that time you go as hard as you can and really push yourself to become better. Keep track of how many shots you make throughout the workout. And every time you do this workout, try and beat your total. Let's get into it. Before we get to the rest of our workout. We're going to start start off with a 17 sprint. So all you're going to do is start on one sideline and sprint across and then back. And every time you sprint across the sideline, it counts as one. So you're going to sprint 17 times across the sideline and then we're going to hop into the rest of our workout. This is going to allow us to immediately start off this warmup and this workout with a little bit of fatigue in our legs so we can really get the most out of our conditioning. With this workout, we're going to get warmed up with these chair pulls. So you're going to place this ball right on the chair next to you. You're going to keep your feet turned towards the basket. You're going to turn, grab the ball and quickly go into your jump shot. You want to try and do this as quickly as you can, being able to work on catching the ball from the side and going right into your shot. Now we're going to go with these elbow to elbow slide jumpers. So getting warmed up right here, sliding elbow to Elbo, tossing that ball so we can catch and go right into that jump shot, alternating sides until you make 12. Now we're going to hop into the workout with this nine shot transition shooting drill. So all you're going to do is there's going to be nine spots around the perimeter. You're going to start near half court, you're going to self toss the ball to each of those spots. You're going to sprint forward, catch it and shoot Three pointer. You're going to do this for shots, not makes. So after you shoot the ball, you're going to go on to the next spot and I'll put a chart up, going to show you the exact nine spots you're going to shoot from. But you're going to go through those nine spots as many times you can throughout the allotted time. Try and make as many as you can. Next, we're going to go with these around the arc sprints into jump shots. So you're going to start in the corner, you're going to sprint with the ball around to the other corner and then self toss the ball into the corner, catch it and shoot it. Then you're going to grab your rebound and sprint around the other way. And you're going to try and make as many of these as you can in the allotted amount of time. Our next drill is going to be corner to corner sprint shooting. So you start in one corner, you're going to sprint along the baseline to the other corner, self toss the ball to yourself, catch it, go right into that jump shot, go get your rebound and sprint to the opposite corner, trying to get as many as you can in the allowed time. Now we're going to go with star shooting. So you're going to start in the corner, take a jump shot, then you're going to go to the opposite wing, take another jump shot. Then after you get that rebound, you're going to go to the opposite wing, shoot another shot. After that shot, grab your rebound, sprint out to the opposite corner, take your shot from there, and then you're going to finish the drill by shooting a jump shot from the top of the key. Now we're going to go with our three direction catch and shoot drill. The first type of shot we're going to take here is this. Backpedal into a catch and shoot three. You're going to be alternating sides for all three of these variations. So after you shoot this first shot, you're going to sprint across to the opposite corner and shoot the same shot. And you're going to do that for two minutes. After you finish that up, you're going to go self toss coming from the left side. You're going to ideally have your feet already set to shoot. You're just going to turn your upper body on the catch, shoot the jump shot again. After you shoot that on one side, you're going to sprint to the opposite corner, do the same exact thing, Then you're going to do the same thing, except you're going to be opening up to the right side. Now, if you want to, you can move one foot on the catch, but just make sure that you don't hop into the catch. You either keep both feet planted or you only move one foot. After you finish up all three of these variations in the corners, you're going to move up and do all three again on the wings. Next, we're going to go with the self toss lifts, alternating sides again. So once you shoot it, sprint across the other side, lift again, catch and shoot. Try and make as many as you can in the allowed time. And now we're going to do the same thing except now you're going to drift into the corner from the wing. After you shoot the shot, you're going to sprint, grab your rebound, go to the opposite side again down into the corner, catch and shoot. Try and make as many as you can anytime you're given.
