A lot of times defenses are looking to trap. The first thing that we want to think about is we want to try and avoid the trap spots as much as possible. Putting yourself in the deep corner and also right across half court is another place that defense are going to look trapped as well, because you can't go back court and you have less space. Got to remember that space is always your friend. So you want to ideally catch the ball and put yourself in a position where you have space. The next thing is that if you do get trapped, the one thing you can't do is make a panic pass. And I see this all the time, players will get trapped and immediately they throw the ball. Traps are super aggressive, right? When they're trapping you, they're being aggressive. Meaning like we talked about earlier, they're going to be really susceptible to pass fake. So when you get trapped, be willing to, okay, you see that person coming to trap you throw a pass fake. When you throw a pass fake, they're going to jump for it. And now maybe you've opened up a passing lane or you've opened up a lane for you to be able to put the ball on the floor and drive. But pass fakes are your best friend when you play against aggressive defense. So specifically presses and traps, you got to get used to just throwing a pass fake and that's going to open passing lanes up for you, driving lanes up for you. And still want to keep in mind when we do that side middle back traps coming to me, can I throw the ball back to where it came? Like where that that pressure is coming from? Or did somebody rotate there? Okay, well, somebody rotated there. Then I probably have the middle guy open and if someone took that away and I probably have the sideline open, the worst thing you could do is panic and throw the ball away. Be patient, throw a pass fake, go through your progressions and you're going to be able to get out of that and potentially made the defense pay for it. Because you're going to have a numbers advantage if you're able to effectively get the ball out of that trap. There's.
