It's about recognizing patterns and tendencies when it comes to how defenses are going to play different actions. Understanding that you're coming off of a pin down or a screen and the defense is constantly switching or they're constantly going under the screen, they're constantly going over the screen. How does that impact the way that you anticipate using those actions? If, you know, the last three times they've guarded me, he's chasing me over the screen. Well, now that means I can anticipate that I. I'm probably going to be open on a tight curl here, and maybe that's something that if my teammates haven't seen yet, I can communicate that to them. And now the next time it happens, I'm going to score off of it or I know that they're switching everything, so I'm going to tell my screener, hey, anticipate they're going to switch it, just slip and you're going to be wide open. Or I know that when I go into the screen, they've been switching the whole game or the last few possessions, I'm going to slip early and I'm probably going to be open for a layup. Being able to make those adjustments and pick up on patterns in a game is a big part of being a player who, who is constantly a step ahead of everybody. Like I said, you got to be able to go into games having a focus, but then depending on how things go, are you able to adapt, are you able to make adjustments? And if you can do that consistently because you know the game, you recognize patterns and you have a solution for everything, you're really hard to guard, and that's a player who sees the game a step ahead.
