From youth players to professionals, everybody gets nervous during games. The first thing you need to understand is that it's completely normal to be nervous before games or during games, because usually in your mind, there's a lot of pressure surrounding that situation that you're in. In order to overcome this, you first have to accept the fact that it's okay to be nervous and you're going to be nervous. There's no way to avoid it. You gotta be able to go through it, and the first part of that is accepting it. Once you're able to realize that being nervous is actually a good thing, you'll be able to move on and use to your advantage. A lot of times you'll notice that even if you're extremely nervous, once you start going, those nerves start to fade. What you want to recognize is that instead of sitting there thinking about doing it, just go do it. When you get into the games, you're going to be a little bit nervous. But once you start going out there and doing things, getting into the flow, those nerves are going to go away. And when you just focus on doing things, instead of focusing on how nervous you are or messing up or any of that stuff, you just go out there and you focus on exactly what you're doing. You're going to see those nerves start to go away a little bit, and you're gonna play a lot more relaxed and a lot more free. This is called being focused on the process. Taking the task at hand and putting all your focus onto that. This is the key to overcoming nerves, because typically when nerves get in the way, it's because we give too much focus to them when they don't actually deserve it. If you instead shift all your focus to the task that you're doing right now, you're gonna have so much more fun playing because the nerves won't be able to hold you back. The other thing that you can do to start to lessen your nerves is to put yourself in those situations that make you nervous. So, for example, if it's your first game of the year, expect to be nervous because you haven't done it enough. Once you start to play in more and more games, you'll start to get more and more accustomed to that feeling. And on top of that, if you add those first two tips in, you'll start to see nerves decrease a lot. You want to put yourself in those uncomfortable situations as much as you can. Instead, become more comfortable in them. Going back to my first point, it's all about being able to embrace your nerve. Understand that there's nothing wrong with being nervous and trying to get the nerves to go away isn't what you want to focus on. Instead, you want to embrace those nerves and go on and do Like I said before, don't think about it. Go out there and start doing the tasks that you need to do. Go out there and start playing and focus all your energy on that and you'll start to see those nerves disappear. Embrace the nerves and go out there and have fun and you'll start to understand that nerves don't control you. If you guys enjoyed this video, go ahead and leave a like and subscribe as well.
