A short coaching video by Ethan Khoza offering practical in-season training guidance for basketball players. Key advice: preserve offseason gains by continuing extra work outside team practice (skills/shots), prioritize feeling prepared each day, and maintain weight-room work but scale it back to about once or twice per week. Adjust lifting frequency based on game load (e.g., more lifts in light weeks, fewer or abbreviated sessions in heavy weeks) so the primary goal is being as close to 100% for each upcoming game to maximize performance.

Don't backtrack on your offseason progress, making sure you're still getting in your extra work outside of team practices, getting up the shots you need to get up, making sure you feel confident. And that being the goal of your training now is just, how do I make sure that I feel good every single day about what I need to be able to do on the court? And making sure again, you're not forgetting the weight room too, but probably scaling back to the point where it's once, twice a week and also again, adjusting that for, hey, if I play a ton of minutes or even if it's week to week, right, If I have a week where I only have one game, you might be able to go and lift twice a week. If you weak where you have four games and you're playing a lot of minutes, you might only lift one time that week, or maybe you lift twice, but you skip a couple sets because you want to make sure you're prepared for that next game. That's the most important thing, is how do I make sure I'm as close to 100% as I can be for this game coming up so that I can perform? We are all about performance right here, right? Learning. That's what we were focused on March, April through October. But when we're in the winter season, we're trying to make sure that we put ourselves in the best position to perform and show we can do right now.
