Ethan Khoza leads a six-minute ball-handling workout you can do at home with one basketball. Work through around-the-leg reverses, figure-8s, and between-the-legs crossovers, keeping your dribble low and eyes up. Do it two or three times a day during downtime to build fingertip control and speed.

The main excuses players give for not being able to get their work in is that they either don't have enough space or they don't have enough time to get it done. Those excuses are not going to be acceptable in this video. We're going to go through a six minute ball handling workout that you can do anywhere with one basketball. And it's really going to help develop your ability to handle the basketball and have that ball in a string. Now, this workout isn't just going to be something you're going to watch right now and then go do later by yourself. You're gonna take your phone or your computer, grab your basketball and go outside or in your basement, wherever, and you're gonna do this workout right along with me while the video plays. That's all you're gonna need for this workout, six minutes. I recommend that you guys do this workout between two to three times a day, especially right now when everything's locked down. There's not much else to do while most people are sitting on the couch doing nothing. If you can commit six minutes a day to your handles, you can really revolutionize your bow handling. If you're ready to get better, let's get into it. All right, guys, here we go. We're going to go around the right leg first. And we're just going reverse this whole time. We're not going to go forward. So you see me in the video. I want you to do that exact same way. Notice I'm keeping this ball nice and low. And after 30 seconds, we're going to switch. Go for the full minute right hand and then left hand and again. Make sure you keep this ball nice and low. Really push yourself using those fingertips. And you'll see me once I get to the left. I'm going to mess up a couple times. And this is a recurring theme, guys, you're going to mess up. You should mess up if you, if you're pushing yourself the right way. You know, I'm really pushing myself in these drills. And see right there, like, I lose the ball a little bit, but I get right back into it. And that's how you get better. You know, a lot of players, they go through the motions in practice because they want to look good, they want to look cool. End of the day, though, it's really just all about getting better. Okay, look bad now so you can look good later. Now we're going to go into figure 8. So we're going to go reverse for the first 30 seconds. So you'll see me making an A Going around both legs, keeping that ball nice and low. Doing your best. Keep those eyes up. You know you're going to look down at some points, but do your best. Keep your eyes up as much as you can. Really, really control that basketball again. Might lose it. Going right back into it and going to switch here in a second. All right, here we go. Going with those forward figure eights now. So just switching the direction that we're going to. Keeping that ball low. Go. 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1. Good. Get a quick breather, stretch those legs out, get ready to go. We're going to turn it up a little bit right here. Got ourselves nice and warm. So give you guys about 10 more seconds and we're hopping right back into it. Alright, now we're going to go with some continuous between the leg crossovers. And notice that I'm going with just my left leg for now. I'm going for speed right here. So you see I'm messing up a little bit. I'm really pushing myself to go as fast as possible, possible between then cross and you'll start to see. As I get a rhythm, I start to pick up my speed. I start to get a little bit faster. I want you guys to do that as well. So that first 30 seconds to be between the leg cross that left leg, you're really gonna start to feel the burn. That front leg push through it guys. This is where you get better. When you start to feel that fatigue, you're either going to start building good habits or bad habits. We'll get to 30. We'll switch it. Now going around that right leg again, really pushing that speed. That's the most important part right now. Really working on that hand speed. Being able to get that ball from point A to point B. And again, make sure keep your eyes up best you can. But really, really push yourself again. I'm losing the ball. If you aren't losing the ball, then you probably aren't pushing yourself hard enough. So got a couple more seconds and we'll move on. We got to a minute shake out a little bit. Now we're going to get into continuous between the leg crosses. This time we're going to have our feet moving a little bit so you'll see what I'm talking about. But basically we're going to go see, we had our feet planted that first one. Now we're putting our feet into an explosive position as we do the same exact drill. No dribbles in between. It's between the leg crosses. Now notice how my feet are Getting wider every time and I'm really getting myself into an explosive position with my feet so that if I'm in a game, I can go between the legs and boom, quickly beat my guy if I have it right there. But also I can cross back over and I'm still in a low explosive position. So 30 seconds, we'll go ahead and switch it. Going around that right leg now, same thing between the leg crosses. Really pushing that speed. Still 10 more seconds. Finish it out. Here we go. Good. Take a quick little breather, stretch those legs out, get everything ready to go. Alright guys, this last minute we're gonna do what I call freestyle dribbling. And basically all you're gonna do is whatever you want. Be creative with your, with your dribbling in place, making sure that you give a focus that between the legs dribble that we've been working on. But again, you see me here, you're free. You have freedom to whatever you want. Be creative. Being a great ball handler is all about being creative, being able to adapt in games, in the situation. So you'll see me pulling out a bunch of different moves, moves that we worked on, moves that we haven't work. Really have fun with it. You know, take this last minute and cement in the work that you've already put in. Okay. By pushing yourself, making sure you're not afraid to mess it up and really being creative and trying new things right here. So you'll see again, still not afraid to mess up. Making sure that we finish this minute out strong. I know. Push through that fatigue and we're done. That's great work, Great focused work. That's, that's more focused work than a lot of people are going to put in in a whole day. You do that once or twice a day, you'd be on your way to being a great ball handler. Guys, let's get it.
