Live Ball Handling Workout

Ethan Khoza leads a live ball-handling workout with progressive drills: cuff dribbles, crossovers, behind-the-back, between-the-legs, and scissor dribbles. He emphasizes game-speed practice and "train ugly"—high-intensity reps over long, slow sessions. Specific targets include 12 reps per hand for most moves and 25 per leg for cuff-through-leg drills.

It. Yo, what's up, guys? I'm not sure what just happened there. I think YouTube just crashed. I couldn't get on live for, like, five minutes right there. We got some guys back, though. All right, we'll hop right back into it then. So go back to that, to those. To those over cross. I was gonna go 12 now. Okay, so 12 cuff, double cross. Switch hands. Let me know when you're done. Here we go. It. Good job, guys. It depends on what you're working on, Justin, and it depends. The more important thing is that you. Is that you're going game speed for all your shots. So if you can go game speed, you can make 500 shots in less than an hour and a half. Do that. Okay. If you can't, if you have to slow down during that workout, then you're just be wasting time and reps. Okay. All right, give you a couple seconds. Now we're going to go into that same exact thing again. Going over, between, between. All right, so we're here. 1, 2, 3. Between, between. 1, 2, 3. Between, between. Okay, with that little scissor dribble. All right, we got 12. 12 right, 12 left. Here we go. Let's go. Lose that. It. Good job, guys. Good work, guys. Good work. What's up, Sam? All right, guys, pop it into set two. Same exact thing. All right, same exact thing. Going 12 cuff, between, between. Here we you go, guys. Here we go. It. Job in. Good work, guys. Good work. Got another variation of these doubles. Another variation of these doubles. All right, so next one we're going to go to same thing with that cuff going double behind the back. Right back into it. All right, so we're here. One, two, three. Boom, boom. Right back into it. All right, got 12 per hand again. Here we go. Go. Keep it up, guys. Let me know when you're done. Let me know when you're done. Job. Ian gives about 20 seconds. We'll hop into set two. Make sure every time we're trying to push the pace with these. As soon as you get the. The. The rhythm down, you got to start pushing the pace with them. Good job, Jay. Good work. Good work. All right, hopping back into it now. Going over the cone again. Double behind. Here we go. 12 and 12. It. It's good stuff, guys. Good stuff. All right, Jeremiah. No problem. No problem. Whenever you can get that work in, that's what matters. Job, Ian. All right, guys, keep pushing up that pace. When you guys are going into those cuffs over the top of that cone, really pound that ball. Okay? Pound that ball. With those cuffs, quick double crossover right back into those pounds. Same thing again. We got 12 per hand. Behind the double, behind the back. Here we go. Train four times per day. Hey, guys, grab a quick drink. Quick drink. We're gonna get into the next one about 30 seconds. Train four times per day. Sometimes my legs are too tired to shoot threes that you include in your workouts. Should I just step forward a bit? I. Yeah, I mean, I guess you can do that. The issue, I think the issue is that, like, what do you, like, why are you training four times a day? What do you gain from that? To me, I think it's probably a little overkill. So evaluate that. Because if you get to the actual basketball part and you can't do the basketball part, which is the most important part, then you got to evaluate what's like. What's. What's the what like? We're not training to. To be better at lifting weights right now, although that's a part of it. We're training to get better at basketball. So if you are so tired you can't even do the basketball part of it, it's like your other training is probably hurting you more than it's helping you. So quality reps, quantity of reps. That's going to be a podcast probably next week. Because this is a big thing that players just don't understand. Not about who, who, who shoots more shots. That, that literally is not important. All right, so now we've done these before where we go over with these, with these cuffs where we're here. We're gonna do something similar to that right now. Okay, what we're gonna do is we're gonna go cuff over through the leg. Okay. So holding our right hand, pound, pound, over. Okay, we're just gonna keep repeating that. So we're gonna. All right, gonna get 25 per leg. 25 right. Switch to your left. Here we go. Let me know when you're it. 12, 13 job, guys. These are tough. Keep it up. Yeah. Two hour segments, four times eight hours a day. I'm gonna be honest, it's. That's just a waste of time. Like, you're just wasting your time on the court. I would say two, two hour segments max. And honestly, probably less than that. Probably two hour and a half sessions max. Four hours, four times a day, two hours each. Just a waste of time. These are tough. We're going to get even, even tougher with these two. All right, same thing. Got another set of those over between. Here we go. 25 again. 25 per hand. Push that speed, guys. Good work, everybody. Go, work. Got a couple more. Got a couple more. Stick with it. Stick with it. These are tough. Like I said, though, once you have it down, start pushing that speed. Lose that ball. Get better with it. Good job, Ian. Job, guys. Got about 15 seconds. Hop it in. The next variation. Got a couple more, couple more. So go. Go hard for the rest of these. Go hard two. All right, here's our next same thing. Boom, boom. Here, behind. Then you're gonna go other leg. Okay? So that'll be here. Boom. Into that behind right there. Over, behind, over, behind. Okay, gonna go 16. You got 16 of those. Let me know when you're done here. It's good job, guys. These are tough. These are tough. It's okay to look bad right now. Good job. So that's kind of what I mean by when I answer these questions. Like, you got to stop working out for so long. When we do these workouts, what. What matters is that we're gonna go for whatever between 20 and 30 minutes. We're gonna go as hard as possible where we're gonna mess things up. We could go for two hours straight going at 70%, and we look great doing it. All right, but then when we get to the games, we got to go 100. Why? How does that matter? So you're training eight hours a day, and the game is an hour. You have to go 100% the whole time, but for most of your eight hours, you're going 60%. How's that going to help you in the game? It won't help you. Trust me. I've done it. I've done it, and I've seen it so many times, it doesn't work. That's right, Ian. Train ugly. Train ugly. That's right. All right, back into it. Same exact thing. We got 16 reps, same hand between, behind. Here we go. Let me know when you're done it. Good job. Good work, Ian. Good work. Couple more sets, guys. Couple more sets. Stick with it. Stick with it. About a solid 25 minutes in if you were here for that first part. All right, here's our next. Now we're gonna really up this pace right here. Okay? Now we're going one, two between, or we're gonna go one, two, pull between. Okay, One, two, pull, quick between. Really try and make sure that this transition from this between to that, quick as you can go. Okay, here we go. 16 total. That one right there is tough when you push yourself. Good job, guys. We're getting better. Getting better. That's what matters right now. Good job, Ian. Good work. That transition is hard. We'll get better at this. Second set is going to look a lot better. All right, so here we go. Same thing over, Same hand between, quick between. All right, same thing. We got 16. Let me know when you're done. Here we go. It. Good job, guys. Got one more set. One more set, one more drill. I should say two more sets of that drill, and we're done. Good job, ian. Guess about 20 seconds, we'll hop into that last one. All right, so this last one is gonna be the toughest one. And what we're gonna do, gonna go cuff between behind. Same hand is gonna catch it. Bring it back here. Okay, so we're gonna go. All right, hand to start. There behind, there behind. It might be a little bit of a carry at first. That's okay. All right. I just wanted to be able to control the ball right now. Okay. It's all right if it's a little bit of a carry right now. Trying into a rhythm. This one's gonna be really, really tough. Okay. Gonna get hands. 10 right hands. Switch. Go 10 left hand. Let me know when you're done. Here we go. Who it? Chat 2K Panda.
