LIVE Workout: Shiftiness Focus

Live workout by Ethan Khoza focused on developing "shiftiness" for basketball — emphasizing hip mobility, shin/weight-shift angles, and reactive dribbling. The session runs through a warm-up (side lunges, hip-flexor stretches, step-overs), stationary drills (chest-holding ball shifts), between-the-legs dribbling while transferring weight, and explosive crossover moves triggered by verbal "left/right" calls. Instructor interacts with live chat, answers questions about training frequency and equipment, and notes the session will be saved on channel.

How we doing? Six of you guys in here, six of you in here. We'll hop in in about a minute. Probably about 45 seconds actually. So as you guys have all seen, big shiftiness, focus, shout out to by enemies, Basketball game time elite. A couple other guys who I saw who inspired a lot of what I have been doing the last few days. And I figured yesterday I was like, man, I think it's some good stuff. So I haven't done a live workout in a minute so figured I'd, I'd hop on and do this. Let me see if I get the chat up here. David, what's up? Five. We'll go in about, probably about 15 seconds or so. We'll start with a little warm up just to get going. I don't anticipate this workout to be all that long just because it's going to be. You guys will feel it, it'll be a little bit taxing on your legs. Especially if you haven't done any stuff like this in a while. You guys will definitely start to feel it. What's up Bankroll? J Emmett. Laura Redhead. Hooping. What's up guys? What's up guys? All right, Leonardo. Alright guys, so grab that ball. We'll get warmed up real quick. Just as a start, just to get us going a little bit, a little bit of stationary stuff just to get ourselves moving a little bit. So we'll go pound, cross, pound, cross, boom. Here. Pound, cross, go between. Now palm between. Good. Pound behind to finish this out. All right, move this camera down a little bit. So like I said, I want us to warm up a little bit here, just get our legs ready to go. This is going to have to do a lot with your hips, your mobility. See what else we got in here. Sophia 21. Yeah, it's about probably 35 degrees out where I'm at, so gotta love April. Okay, you don't need a basketball right now. Just get ourselves loosened up a little bit. We're gonna go a little bit of a side lunge. Okay. So I'm going right down to my side, getting deep into that lunge. Okay. Really feeling it there. Back up on my other side down, just alternating back and forth. Good. Okay. Get a little bit of movement going with this. Now we're going to go with that same exact thing to that side lunge. We're going to alternate it with a little bit of a hip flexor stretch. Okay. So for that hip lining stretch, I'm stepping forward, getting that stretch right in here on the inside hip. Okay. I'LL do that. Both sides. Boom. Then I'm back to that, back to that. Side lunge, side lunge, both sides. Boom. So each one of those guys counts as one rep. You get through both sides of the side lunge and the hip lunge stretch. That's one rep. So get five reps. Five reps of that? Yes, sir. Ian. Max, my guys give you guys about 10 more seconds, and then we'll keep on moving this down a little bit. Good. All right, so as our next working hips, a little bit more. Okay, we're doing a little step over. So I'm taking my hip up, and I'm bringing it around almost like I'm stepping over a fence right here. Okay. So my right leg, I'm there getting up as high as I can. Boom. Trying to keep myself standing straight up. When I go, I'm going to get five with my right leg. Gonna go five with my left leg here. Five right there. Okay, once you guys have that, we'll keep moving. Grab your basketball. So, like I said, guys, a lot of this is gonna be hip movement. So I said it's a lot about shiftiness. So if you. It's a lot about shin angles and our hips being able to move as well. So just to get ourselves warmed up, to get the emotion that we're going to start feeling, it's going to feel a little bit weird for some of you guys to start off. All I'm doing is rolling the ball back and forth between my hands right here. But the difference is, when I roll it out this way, this leg's leaning in. All my weight's shifting over here to this leg. My weight's shifting off of this leg. My toes pointing in, and I got that negative shit angle right here. Okay, I'm shifting all the way. Same thing on that side. On that side. Okay, that toe is moving, that weight is shifting. Keep moving that ball back and forth, back and forth. Good. Quick break. Okay, you guys are going to start to feel this really, really quickly. Okay, you'll start to feel it. Your legs will be burning a little bit, but we'll keep it going. All right, I'll give you guys another break so you guys don't start cramping up too early. All right, let's go back to it. Same thing. We'll go three per leg. Okay, so I'm there. There's one catching in with that same hand. Two, shifting that weight. Boom. Good, you guys are done. Quick little break here. We'll hop into it one more time. One more time. On this last set, this last set that we do. Okay, I want you guys trying to keep your chest pointing forward so I have the logo on my shirt. I'm trying to keep that pointing forward right here. Okay. So as I go, I'm right here. Boom. I'm trying to keep that. My weight still shifting, but able to keep that chest pointing forward. Okay. All my weight shifting, that angle is shifting. All right, three per leg. Get it going, and we'll move on to the next one. Question for the pockets. Listen to music while training. Yes. Once you guys have that, we'll keep it going. So now what I want us to do is get a little bit of a feel for that moving right here. Again, shout out to my enemies. Basketball. That's where I saw this next part here. All we're doing is we're keeping that ball right here on your chest, taking a step forward while also shifting that weight. Turn that leg. So I take that little bit of a boom. I'm shifting my weight right there. Okay. Shifting my weight side to side. Trying to keep that ball as straightforward as possible. Okay, again, this is going to feel weird, but we'll tie it all together. Okay. It's going to feel weird at first. I'm shifting that weight still. Boom. Shift that weight. Keep that chest pointing forward, that ball pointing forward that whole entire time. Again, I've seen a lot of you guys who haven't been with these before use whatever space you have. I don't have a ton of space right now. I'm sure a lot of you guys also don't use what space you have. Okay, that's all that matters right now. Guys, take a quick break. We're going to hop into that one more time. These will be saved. These will be saved. So this will be up after. It'll be up after. All right, good. Go one more time. That same thing. Keeping your chest pointing forward, that ball pointing forward. Okay. Getting a little bit of that lean every single time. Shifting that weight, shifting that weight. Boom. We're back. I'm here. A little bit of a shift. Trying to keep it as straight as I can. One more time. Shift, shift. Getting that weight onto that outside leg, Onto that outside leg. Let's bring it back. Okay. Gonna get back into just stationary. Gonna be dribbling the basketball now. Now we're gonna be putting that together with the between the legs dribble. Okay. So if I'm here and I go. I'm leaning my weight, all my weight's going this way again. My shin angle is still in this direction. Boom. There, there, there. Shift, shift, shift, shift. Okay, so we're going to go between the legs again. Take it slow at first. Make sure you're transferring that weight here. Weights on both feet. When I go, boom. Shin angle weights here now. Okay. When I come back, weights here. Boom. Sell in that direction. Keep it going, keep it going, keep it going. Good. Let's take a little bit of a break again. Like I said, I saw one of you guys. Yeah, it's burning. This is definitely again, it's definitely taxing right here. So I want to keep it. Keep working it in smaller parts. Okay. And we'll keep on building all this stuff together. Okay, you get back into one more time. I want three per leg. Okay, so I'm here. Boom. There's one. There's two, three, four, five, six. Okay. Shifting that weight every time. So six total right here. Let me know when you guys finish up with that. Once you do, grab a quick drink if you need one. Julia, shout out to you. Shout out to you. 18 degrees. I don't think anybody's beating that. Okay, let's get back to it, guys. Get back to it. We're gonna go back with that between. One more time. We got four reps per leg. And making sure we're shifting that weight. Okay. Okay. Trying to keep that chest pointing forward as best we can. Okay, I'm here. Boom, boom, boom. Bring that down. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Shifting that weight every single time. Once you get eight. Quick break, quick break. We're going one more set. One more set with that between. One more set with that between. Here we go. We got eight of them. Shifting that weight, Shifting that weight. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Let me know you guys are feeling right now. You guys tired? You guys feel the. You guys feel your weight shifting? Let me know how it's feeling for you. Basketball training with SC shout out to you. Give you guys about 15. We're gonna hop into another stationary variation. Just getting more comfortable with it. This is such a feel thing, guys. Like, again, I want you guys to get the general base, like the basic part of it down. But I want you guys to be able to just kind of be messing around with it right. By the time that we're done with this, I want you guys to feel like. Yeah, you know, I can just be kind of in place kind of shifting whatever I'm doing. So this is. We're going to build onto it right here. Okay. So staying with that stationary now. We're going with Any sort of move that you want. Okay? But we're shifting that weight every time anyway. So I'm here. Boom. I'm there, there, there, there, there. Okay. You guys can take it at whatever that speed is that you want, okay? But you should be able to feel it. You should be able to feel that weight shifted. It's okay if you lose that ball. You guys who have been here, you know, it's okay if you lose that basketball. I want you guys to give me a eight reps again, okay? Eight reps right here. So four per hand. Four per hand. Let me know when you guys finish up with that. See if I missed any questions here. Yeah, like I said earlier, shout out to by enemies basketball for this. It's crazy. You guys always look at like the little details of stuff when it comes to like shifting your weight or just the angles that you take. That stuff's so important. So that's why we started off with that warm up too. Because it's not just about dribbling. It's also about what your body's doing as well. So we have to take care of that also. Good, good. Got some guys finishing up. Okay. Get you guys a little bit of a break right here. We're going to go back into it again. Every time that you do this, I want you guys to feel like again, like you got a guy in front of you. Just have fun doing it. Okay? I'm shifting side to side. Boom. At any point, I might go that way. All right. But I got to make sure that I'm selling it every single time. Okay, let's go through. Let's get 10 total. 10 total right here. Whatever you guys want to do with it. Job, David. Good work, Justin. I'd say basketball is okay to do every day, but it depends on how hard you're going every day. Trio Capila. What's up? What's up? Give you guys about 15 more seconds. Grab a quick drink if you need one. Now we'll kind of add to that a little bit. We'll add to that a little bit. Good work, Emmett. Good work, Emmett. Keep it up, guys. Keep it up, guys. I don't anticipate this being much longer. What I do want you guys to do though is like I said, and you guys are feeling it right now. I guarantee your legs are probably burning. You guys like, man, I feel like, you know, my legs about to cramp up. You guys are probably tired right now. So again, wanted much longer of this, but this time you guys can come back to again, this Will be up on the channel. So you guys can come back to this, you know, once a week, twice a week, and just kind of work on that ability to build a shift, Especially this next part we're going to get to in a second. All right, here we go. Grab that ball. We're going to start stationary and move a little bit right here. Okay? And how this is going to work. So to start off, I'm kind of going just with a normal shift, Any sort of move that I want, Boom. At some point, you're going to decide to just cross and explode one direction, okay? So if I'm right here, boom. I'm moving, keeping myself shifted. At some point, I'm crossing, take myself this way. Okay, Just get yourself that explosive cross one direction, maybe another dribble, and then stop, and we'll come back to it. So again, I'll show you guys how this is going to look. So I'm here. I'm shifting. Boom. Okay, one thing I want you guys to think about right here on your cross, okay? After you've gone through it and you're getting into that cross, I want you guys falling into that crossover, okay? Take momentum forward. Use your momentum as a propeller for you to be explosive out of that cross. Okay? So everyone watching right now is going to set right here. Again, you're just kind of shifting at any point. Explode, crossover out of that. Here we go. All right, everyone in the chat, I want to try something different. So everybody, let me know when you finish your one rep, okay? Let me know when you're done. I'm going to walk you guys through the next part. Emmett, good job. Good job. I'm going to add a different element to guys starting to roll through what I'm thinking right here. Brian, good job. Good job. Okay, what I want you guys to do now is I'm going to give you guys a call, okay? I'm going to give you guys a call. So we're going to be in that shift, okay? In that shift, I'm going to give you guys either a right call or a left call, okay? So whenever I say right or I say left, that just means now you're exploding to the left side. So you're crossing over towards your left or you're crossing over towards your right, okay? So you guys are going, going, going. Whoo. Don't fall. You guys are going, going, going, boom, Boom. I give you guys a left call. Cross over to that left as quickly as you can, and falling into that move again like you did the right call. Just the opposite of that. All right, so you guys are listening. Hear what I'm saying as we go. All right, Left. Good. Once we get through it, line back up. Give you guys a couple seconds, we'll go back and do it. Same thing. Wait for my call. Left. Go get a couple more right here. Couple more right here. Couple more right here. Right. Good job, guys. Keep working. Let's get one more right here. We'll take a quick break. Right, Quick break. Rest your legs a little bit. 20 minutes in. Good job so far, guys. Let me know how that works for you guys. Let me know how you work, how that works for you guys. If that guy's made, you had to have to react a little bit more. I love, and I've talked about this a little bit, but in every workout that I do, there's some sort of reactionary element. Like, every person I train in person, there's always some sort of reactionary element, usually with my voice. So I might give them some sort of call. Right, left, 1, 2. Obviously a little bit weirder on YouTube trying to do that on a live. But for your paid programs, does it apply if I'm a complete beginner, and what level will it get me to? Well, to answer your second question, in terms of the level, I have no idea, because I don't know how good you are. So I can't tell you what level is going to get you to. Also, some players approach it differently. Some players need different things. So for some players, they're gonna see drastic changes. Some, maybe not. It just depends. And you won't know until you do it, because I can give you examples of guys who saw great things happen. And then, you know, there's probably also others who have seen okay results happen as well. So it kind of just depends. But also, as a complete beginner, so if it depends on. The answer is yes. But again, I can't tell you. Like, I can't give you, like, oh, it's going to make you the. You're going to average this many points per game now, I can't give you any of that. It's really a. That's really. At the end of the day, up to you. Next player workout. Not sure. I've been. I've been avoiding player workouts for the most part, just as I've wanted to do other things. Marco, what's up, man? Yes, sir. I'd love to hear that. Emmett. We're gonna go back into it, guys. Go. One more set of this. All right, One more set of this. Again, all you guys are listening for. If you guys are just tuned in now, we're gonna be going through our little shift stationary, whatever sort of moves we want out of it. I'm gonna give you either a left call or a right call. When I give you that call, that's the side you're crossing through. So if you're going through, boom, I give you guys a left call, then boom. Crossing out, falling forward into that left crossover. If it's the right call, just go to the right side. All right, here we go. Down that shift, right? That one felt a little bit quiet. Hopefully you guys heard me on that one. Felt a little bit quiet. We'll go again. Same thing, Same thing. Here we go. On that shift left. Couple more, couple more right. Last one left. Good job, guys. Good job, guys. 24ish minutes in, like I said. Wanted to keep this one a little bit shorter for you guys because I know you guys are definitely feeling it. So like I said, this is something that you guys can do. This workout will be up on my channel. So this is a good skill to. To just add into your workouts. Like if you've got your normal ball handling or whatever workout you're doing, taking, you know, five minutes to also add a little bit of this element to it. Definitely a good thing for you guys to try out. So highly recommend. Let me check these comments real quick just to see what else we have in here on court four, ball handling, two room. Justin, you just gotta do what works for you, man. Like there's so many specific ways to do things. That way could be great for you or it could not be. Just depends on what works best for you. Yeah, I may start doing more lives. We'll see. As the weather gets warmer, may start throwing lives around more often. We'll see how things work. But glad you guys tuned in today. Got some good work and you guys are definitely feeling this tomorrow. I promise you that. This is like day four straight of me doing this, like, same stuff. So I'm definitely feeling it a lot. You guys have any other quick questions, let me know again, good work. Let me see. Podcast recording tomorrow, coming on Sunday. I don't think I have any other major updates for you guys, but I appreciate you guys tuning in more. Appreciate the sub. Appreciate the sub. If I missed anybody's questions, also, let me know real quick. Good to work out with a weighted ball. Yeah, there can be uses for it. I don't personally use it really ever, but there are definitely, like, there's definitely uses that you can have for a weighted ball. Love to hear that, Emmett. Thanks for tuning in. Appreciate that. Yeah, Diego, this will be up on. This will be up on the channel as well. David, Justin, shout out to you guys. Thunderlord. Appreciate that. Good job, guys. I'll talk to all you guys soon.
