That is adorable. One, you are complimenting her because you think she's pretty. And yes, she wants to know you think she's pretty. But in addition to that, you're calling her a lady. And it doesn't matter how modern our world gets, women who have class want to be treated like a lady. It helps her feel feminine, it helps her feel like you respect her. So "pretty lady" is a very cute nickname. Next up, another one that many women think is just adorable is "princess" or even "queen." Calling her your princess or your queen can be incredibly adorable, especially if you've been in a relationship for a while, if there's a close connection there. Knowing that she's your princess, she's your queen, is absolutely adorable. Especially because a high-quality, high-value woman, she wants to treat you like you're her king. But "babe" or "baby" can be incredibly cute, incredibly endearing. "Hey babe, could you hand me that?" That's cute. Just because it's used a lot and cliché doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Next up is Sunshine. This nickname is perfect for someone who feels like sunshine, who lifts you up, who brightens your day, a particularly happy person or positive person or gentle person. Knowing that she feels like sunshine to you is very, very "Angel." Especially for Christians, being called an angel is a massive compliment. Like, if she feels like she looks like an angel, okay, that's definitely very flattering. "Has an angel face." But also if she's someone who acts like an angel, who is sweet and pure and gentle and feminine, those are definitely things that just pull on her heartstrings. It's a very, very cute thing to know that she's your angel. It's adorable. Next up is "hot stuff." Yes, she wants to know that you think she's hot. Hey, hot stuff! How you doing, hot stuff? Looking good, hot stuff! "Hot stuff," when used appropriately, obviously, is a very adorable nickname. It just helps her know that, yes, she's still attracted to you, and it's fun and it's flirty and it's playful. And for some couples, this is going to feel much more natural than something like "Angel." And that's totally okay. Okay, our next one is actually not a specific nickname. It's more like a tip or a pointer. And this is to be creative, to take inside jokes into consideration and come up with your own. Like, for instance, let's say she's someone who has a really cute laugh and she giggles all the time. And you've talked about it and teased about it in the past, well, maybe, you know, a nickname like "Giggles" or something like that. Or let's say she has the most beautiful blue eyes or brown eyes or whatever they are and you just think they're gorgeous. Start calling her "blue eyes" or "brown eyes." Maybe she's particularly smart and you've noticed that and chatted with that in the past and you start calling her in a non-descriptive meaning way, "Smartypants," because she's just so smart. Just notice how you interact with each other, take these inside jokes into consideration, take the things that you really admire about her into consideration, and consider turning it into a nickname that's for just the two of you. That is a very, very cute approach to nicknames. Okay, we're going to do a recap of these, but first I want to mention the guidelines. Sound good? Guideline number 1, and this is probably the most important guideline, make sure there's some emotional closeness before you start throwing around nicknames. Otherwise, this can really backfire. Nicknames are usually reserved for someone we feel emotionally close to. Unless it's like that annoying coworker, right? You all know the one I'm talking about. If you try and act like there's some emotional closeness there that isn't there, it's going to come across as creepy to her because it just sends off the alarm system in a woman's brain. "What does he want from me?" You don't want that impression at all. So you want to wait until you've known her a little bit. If you met her yesterday and you're calling her gorgeous today, or you're calling her baby doll today, that's probably going to freak her out. So just make sure that there's some emotional closeness there. This can certainly mean when you're in a serious relationship with her. It could also mean even a little bit before that, as long as you have that emotional closeness with her. Another thing to consider is many women adore nicknames, but there are always going to be those who just don't prefer them. So pay attention to how she responds, how she reacts. If she acts like it's a little off-putting, well, then just don't do it anymore. Some good signs that she likes nicknames, that she thinks they're fun, is if you notice that she gives other people nicknames or she's giving you a nickname. And you could always just consider asking her. It doesn't have to be official. "Do you like nicknames?" Instead, you could just say, "Hey, how do you feel about nicknames? I know some people really like them. Is that something you think is fun or not?" And just see what happens. And the last guideline is to remember that we're all individuals.
