Jack Huddleston, director of administration at an intellectual property law firm, explains why his firm chose Evault for backup and virtual environment technology to protect client data and keep the business running if disaster strikes.
My name is Jack Huddleston. I'm the director of administration for Thomas Horstemyr, a boutique intellectual property law firm. My role within the organization is to ensure the economic survivability of the firm. And part of that responsibility is based upon information technology. One of the things that our clients are very concerned about is how do we protect our data? How do we retrieve our data? Our clients like to hear our infrastructure is robust and strong enough that we have a methodology by which we back up in a virtual environment, that we're able to stand up in a virtual environment. They want a sense of security that we can continue to operate despite potential adverse circumstances. My challenge to me is how to design an IT infrastructure that allows me to manage and safeguard this information. So as I looked out on the market, I did my due diligence. I have a very strong network within other law office administrators within the IT community. The process to select Evault was not something that was done overnight. I think from start to finish, it might have taken eight months. And we made sure that Evault had the product, it had the technology, and maybe even more importantly than that, it had the right attitude. When I picked up the phone and I called Evault, I wasn't put on hold. I didn't wait days for a return phone call. I had an answer, I had a response. The service tech didn't. They found out and was back to me within a day. That's what attracted me to Evault and why we ended up giving Evault the business. Using and having a tool such as Evault available to me allows me to sleep a little bit better at night. Having Evault is like having a warm security blanket.
