Good social media morning, guys. We are back at it. Let's go. Welcome back, guys. I hope you're doing well. If you're new to this, what we do is I'm going to break down a couple of great articles out there, social media updates, upcoming conferences and events that you need to know about in the social media world. Sometimes we'll branch out a little bit, go into marketing, go into some other stuff, but for the most part, we try to keep it narrow to social media. So if you're not getting your daily fix of social media updates, content, and conferences and Click the like button, click the subscribe button, click the bell, you know, 1, 2, 3. And wherever you might be listening to the podcast, do the same. And let's get going. This one's a little bit of a fan favorite for me. I am a huge Seth Godin fan. He dropped a new blog today. The blog is kind of poignant. It breaks down that thought of what are you? And he uses I am, he's using it personally, but really wrestling with that idea as you head into the day of what are you? What are the things that you are, you absolutely just, that's who you are. I am 34 years old, that's not changeable, versus I am a marketer, I am a guy who wears orange t-shirts. Those are more flexible choices, and not letting those 2 things kind of blend and mold was a great little, we'll call it a kickstarter for the day at the very least. What are the titles and things that you're allowing people, or you're putting on yourself, that aren't necessarily an unchangeable thing that you've accepted as an unchangeable thing? It's a really cool article. Provoking for me anyway, so I hope it brought value to you. As always, guys, links to these things are down below, and let me know what you think. What are you? Next up, we got a great article from Entrepreneur for all of you out there that are looking to tackle Instagram in a serious way this year. They dove in with 4 Instagram superstars, asked them, how do you best use the platform? How are you gonna get more followers? The content there was of value. I think you should read it if Instagram is a core part of your strategy this year. I'm still not necessarily sold on it, but I recognize that people are out there, they love the platform, platform and they're looking to excel better on it. So, uh, if I'm not going to be creating content on how to better perform on Instagram, this at the very least comes from people that are killing it on that platform. They love the platform and I think that's probably the best place you can go to get that info. SEMrush, they had a great Twitter chat last week on podcasting in 2020. They do a great thing when they're done their Twitter chat though. They put together a beautiful blog post with all the highlights. Definitely worth checking out podcasts. I know something, obviously if you're listening to this on podcast, you can see that podcasts are a big part of my strategy this year. I know many others that are diving into podcasts in a very serious way. The talk had a lot of great people that are running a lot of serious podcasts. It's definitely worth checking out. Take the 10, 15 minutes, guys. It's gonna change how you plan out, how you engage, where you distribute, where you host. There's lots of great info in there for you. Next up, my buddy Dennis Shao is back at it and talking about customer experience. Now I know I said this was a social media thing and we deal with social media, but the reality is social media is all about the customer experience. It's about building an actual community around your brand in discussion, in conversation, and through content. And if you're not focused on the customer experience through all of that, you're missing out in a big way. So Dennis really nails down some key points on this, really breaks down the why that customer focus— that I would prefer it to be community focus, uh, but that community experience is so essential, especially here and now. It's no longer about the billboard, it's about actually understanding the community you're serving, engaging with them, having valuable conversation. Next, we have a really cool article from Wired. I just love the concept behind it. It's saying if we look back over the past decade, we have been essentially made into independent publishers, all of us through social media. Each of us in our own way has become content creators, much like a newspaper used to be. You're putting out content daily. It could be relevant to your life, it could be relevant to your passions, your hobbies, whatever. But the last decade has most certainly created us all into effective publishers. This one goes the next step further and saying very soon we are going to be very active producers. We are gonna be the ones behind the scenes inputting stories, editing video. It's a really powerhouse article as far as a futurist statement of where things are heading, and I think it's pretty on point. So check it out. Just a quick reminder, guys, if you are not yet signed up for Social Media Marketing World 2020, you definitely want to get in on that. The link is down below. It's going to be a powerhouse event, and I am going to be there. You're not gonna see me on stage. I'm actually gonna be creating content with the content team all week, so you're gonna find me on on the floor, in the crowds. Come say hi if you're gonna be there. I would love to chat with you guys. I am so stoked to be creating content live from the floor this year. It's going to be an absolute blast. Get your tickets, get there. San Diego's awesome in March, guys. And that's it for today. I hope this was helpful for you. Let me know down in the comments below what you guys loved from the content that was here. And again, guys, the podcast is fairly new, the videos are pretty new, so if you guys have something that's not in this video currently that you would like to see, a specific creator, some kind of content, YouTube-related, video related. You, you guys let me know down below what you want to see. Have an amazing Tuesday, guys, and I will catch you tomorrow with another episode.
