Good social media morning, guys. We are back at it. Let's go. Welcome back, guys. Sorry about the brief hiatus on the episodes. As you can see, new office, new house. The move went well, but it took 2 weeks to get the internet up and running, so that's why there hasn't been episodes. We are back at it though with the latest social media updates, news, content, and conference and events. So, if you're looking to get the latest every morning on what's going on in social media, this is the place to be. Regardless of where you're watching or listening right now, hit the subscribe button, make sure you're getting your notifications, and let's get down to what's happening today. So, Facebook's model seems to be, if you can't beat them, just take what they do and make it your own. And so Facebook is after Pinterest. That's right, they've got a new app coming out that is Pinterest-esque. You can pin all your goodies from wherever. It's definitely something to take a look at. I know that when they brought Watch out, they were trying to compete with Twitch and YouTube, and it seems like they just constantly want to create a new app for every new app that's out there to compete with the social media audience. Maybe that's why they are the kings, maybe that's why they have the most downloaded apps. However, I for one think that this is just another, you know, grab at somebody else's I think Pinterest does it much better than what I'm seeing out of Facebook here. And as always, as we see with Facebook, there's going to be a steep learning curve where it looks like it's about the same, but it's definitely not as functional as the platform that's been doing it and rocking it for years. So take a look, let me know what you guys think down below. Is this Pinterest knockoff going to work, or is this just another Facebook fail? Staying on the Facebook train, WhatsApp has breached the 2 billion user mark. That's right, big celebration for all of the team over at WhatsApp. It is just taking off as a new form of communication. A lot of professionals using the tool. If you're not on there, you probably don't really care one way or the other. It's just another social platform out there. Most of you are probably already using networks that work for you, but WhatsApp is at that milestone marker of 2 billion users, so congratulations to the team over there. So the last time Snapchat decided it was a good idea to play around with their app's layout, let's suffice it to say they nearly killed their app. Well, they're back at it again. They've decided it is time for a redesign that simplifies the process and makes the user experience a little bit more appealing. Now, this is really rolling the dice for Snapchat, and the executive there has to be holding their breath a little bit because they did destroy their app the last time that they went with a redesign. They lost tons of great fans and followers because people didn't like the change. So hopefully this time around they've learned their lesson. They understand that they've got to listen to the community. In order to make this actually work. I'm excited to see what they put together on it though. And as always, guys, if you're looking for more details on any of this, the links to all of the articles that explain this stuff in more detail can be found inside the description down below. All right, we've got some great content. Starting up the content section, we are looking at a simple breakdown of how you can make social media succeed for you. Adam Torkelson of Nano Hydrate dropped this one over at Social Media Explorer. I really enjoyed what it does. I think it's a simple breakdown of how you can effectively use social media, not get dragged into the vanity metrics, and find the success you want. It's a very, very bare bones, here it is, raw, honest look at how to succeed on social media. I highly recommend it as a read, guys. And for all you Instagrammers out there, the Agorapulse Lab is back at it again, and they're breaking down whether it's worth your time to be in the feed or in the stories. They do a great job. I love whenever they do one of these labs. It gives you a great detailed breakdown with analytics and data to support whether or not you should be using a tool in a certain way. I really love the breakdown on this. I'm not gonna ruin the surprise for you. Definitely check out the article down below to get a feel for whether you should be dedicating more time to your stories or more time to your feed.
