How do you get 100 real subs when you're just starting out on YouTube? Stick around guys, I'm gonna tell you the secret. Welcome back ladies and gentlemen, I'm Dan of millennialmotivator.ca here helping you learn how to create, engage, and inspire. If you're new to the channel, click that subscribe button down there, that little notification bell, and you'll get notified when I put out my next video. I do put out videos Monday through Saturday, guys. They're business-related, so entrepreneur marketing, business-related videos 6 days a week. Lots of great stuff for you guys. Get in on it. But for today, what we're looking at is how do you get the first 100 subscribers. Now, I often try to steer away from making these YouTube savvy videos because, to be honest, I'm new to the network. I only started back in December, okay? But here's one that I feel qualified at this point to speak to. We're 2 months in, almost at the end of February here. We're sitting at 1,100 subs, so I'm not quite comfortable doing the 1,000 sub one yet. I do want to do the 100 sub. I feel that I've got that practice down pat. I'd like to share some tips, simple things. I'm not talking super in-depth hacks that you can do and these complicated Photoshop, go check out Peter McKinnon or something if that's what you want for that kind of stuff. These are simple things that everyday folks like you and I can do to grow a channel from nothing to 100 subs real quick, real easy. Excuse the earthquake. Let's go, let's hit it. Alright guys, here's the boring first step. The first thing you need to do when you start your YouTube channel if you want to succeed is is fill the darn thing out. What do I mean by that? Go into the YouTube settings when you start your channel, okay? Make sure that you've got a good description of what your channel is. Make sure that you've got that filled out in full, as much as you possibly can. Connect your Twitter account, connect your social accounts to that network. Understand that you want your profile as filled out as you possibly can get it. Have a nice photo there. Put the banners up the way that you want them. Create a couple playlists in there. That show what your channel's about until you have enough videos that you can showcase on your channel. Just simple little things that YouTube gives you these tools to build a platform that showcases who you are and what you're about. Now, I recommend you do this for 2 reasons. Number one, the first reason is when people show up to your channel, if it's built out fully, so you've got the banners, you've got the logos, you've got the thumbnails in place, you've got some playlists for people to look at, This lets people know very quickly, oh, this is what this channel is about. So when you guys land on my channel, you know right away there's a channel trailer playing. You've got my header up there. It says, okay, this guy wrote a book, something about business. He's got Create, Engage, Inspire. That's what he's about. We've got a Monday through Saturday, he puts up videos. The trailer runs and you're like, oh, okay, I get it. It's something business related. You show up on a gaming channel, same thing. You'll see all these images of different games, music. You'll see their music videos. You see probably the person singing into a mic or something. Make sure your channel at first glance is filled out and showcases what you're about so people know when they land there, right? If you go watch a traditional TV show of any kind, you're gonna hop in, you're gonna see that TV network, and you're gonna get pretty quickly, okay, I understand when I watch The CW, all of these movie trailers, all of these TV show trailers, all of it, it's all, you know, that teenage-focused stuff. Whereas you go to HBO, you see this more dramatic stuff posed there. When you land on a channel, you want to be able to understand what it's about, whether it's traditional media, modern media, doesn't matter, right guys? Magazines, there's traditional media. You look at the COVID of a magazine and bam, you know what it's about. You pick up Guitar One, there's a guitar player or a musician of some kind on the COVID You pick up Cosmo, that's right, Cosmo. If you pick up a Cosmo magazine, there's usually a picture of some smoking hot lady or smoking hot man and a bunch of articles that are related to it. Same thing with your YouTube channel, guys. You want to quickly communicate by filling it out fully. So first step to getting that 100 real subscribers is use the tools that YouTube has given you. Use them, just put them out there. Make sure that you've got a filled out portfolio, filled out profile that showcases who you are and what your channel is in a glance. Let's go. What's up next? Okay, so what's up next is you've got a channel built essentially, right? You've got the startings of a channel and you have the shell that you're going to put stuff in. So now that you've got a shell, you've got to fill it, right? It's like a little tortellini. I know, I know, we're throwing everything out there today. Music, gaming, food, why not? It's YouTube. So you got a little tortellini like your YouTube channel, okay? You got the shell, you got to stuff that sucker. So stuff it. Start creating content. Now when I say start creating content, guys, if you want to see success on YouTube, It's really dependent on you, largely. It is. Now, whether a video goes viral or not, that's something altogether different. But we're talking basic, simple steps that you can do in order to get that 100 subs. So I'm not talking about a million subs, I'm talking about 100, okay? So the thing that you want to do is, at minimum, when starting a new channel to hit 100 subs, is plot out 3 videos minimum a week. 3 a week. Now I do 6 a week here, so I saw much faster growth than had I done it at 3 a week. But 3 a week is a great way to get started. Pick 3 video content concepts a week. It doesn't have to be super polished. You're new to YouTube, people will get that. Okay, now obviously work within your skill set. If you are a Premiere Pro Adobe champion, Instagram, whatever, if you're one of those, great, good on you. Make your quality of video reflect that. But for the most part, YouTube videos, you can pump out 3 videos a week. If you can do that, you're gonna see a lot more growth and in a lot faster ways. So the more content that you have out there, YouTube is essentially a giant search engine, right? So the more things that you've got on your channel, the more opportunity there is for people to search, find it, and come to your channel. Duh, right? Sounds super simple. It is that simple. All you have to do is constantly be creating content. So now I've been doing 6 videos a week for 2 months, right? I put out more videos in 2 months than a lot of channels put out in a full year. And they're all in the same niche, right? They're all that business entrepreneur, digital marketing, social media kind of stuff. So guaranteed when people are searching those terms, they, they're starting to see my name pop up and see those videos pop up. Hopefully people in my niche are starting to see me in similar searches. They're starting to see me more often in their feed and this is a result of a regular posting schedule. Okay? So make sure guys, first step, fill in the shell. Now you've got a shell. Fill it with some content. Make sure it's regular. 3 to 5 times a week is fantastic if you're looking to grow quickly. If you don't really care about growing quickly, you know, less than 3 a week is okay. But this one is about how to get those 100 first subscribers. I want to give you guys the best tips as possible. So 3 a week is reasonable. I do 6 a week. I'm not finding I'm super stressed doing it. Let's make it happen, guys. You can do it. It's a simple step. 3 videos a week. Okay, what's up next? Last and not least, guys, share, share, share, share. There it is. Okay, so you got a shell, you filled it with great content, share it out there. YouTube is great on its own, it is, and there's lots of other videos out there. You can go to guys like Derral Eves, Roberto Blake, Tim Schmoyer, Sarah Dietschy, Rhymes with Peachy. You guys can check them out. They know how to do the tags and the titles and the thumbnails and all that. If you guys have seen my stuff, it's not nearly on the same level. It'll get me by, but I am no but by no means a professional. What I do know though is how to use social media effectively. So when I create a video from start to finish, so shooting it, editing it, posting it, uploading it, that's about an hour it takes me to do that. Okay, from start to finish, that's not a ton of time. An hour a day, that's all it takes. Some of you probably binge. Netflix for a lot longer than that in a day, or are playing around on Facebook for more than an hour a day, right? So the reality is this, guys. Hour a day for creating the video. Now for me, I'm looking to grow fairly quickly on my channel, build some rep online, make some people aware of me, and that's just my goal. That's what I want to do. So when I'm sharing content out, it takes me an hour to shoot and edit the video. It then takes me almost 45 minutes to share it out to every social network page, forum, and group that I'm a part of. That I feel it would be relevant for. That's right, so 3/4 of the time it takes for me to shoot this thing and upload it will be spent sharing it out to different social networks, different groups, different forums out on the internet. Now everyone here may not be that involved with social media, and I get that, but I promise you this: if you create content on the regular and are distributing it out into social networks— so your Facebook, your Twitter, your Instagram, LinkedIn if you've got it and you're business related. Just put them out there, put them wherever you can. Facebook or YouTube, if you look down here guys, there's a share thing. You click on that and you'll see a whole banner of things pop up. At the very least, click those. That's quick and easy. Heck, try it with this video. If you're out of practice, go ahead, click those, share it out. See how simple it is. You click a button, it's on my Pinterest. Click another button, oh, LinkedIn's got it now. It's super simple to share it out guys, and it's a great way to get it out there and just starting as far as the SEO goes of it, building backlinks back to your channel, right? So if you could take a billboard and put it in only one place selling a traditional item, no problem, it would be okay. But if you had the same choice for no extra cost to take your ad and put it on 10 billboards, you'd obviously choose that option. And this is what is the key to YouTube, guys. It's not just counting on playing the algorithm on YouTube. Forget playing the algorithm. Build a channel, use it to its fullest. Next up, what are we looking at? We're looking at filling it with great content on the regular. Be consistent. Let people know when you're showing up. Give them great content when they do. Last but not least, share it out to a crowd. Make sure they know what's going on. All right guys, so this is a— this is one of those guarantee warranty deals on this, okay? So if you follow these steps for the next 30, 60, 90 days. Let's say 90 days at most, okay? I've seen people asking me this question. They say, you know, I've been on YouTube, I started it, it was my first channel, I've been at it for 6 months, still not at 100 subscribers. Stop what you're doing and try this. Try it, try it for 90 days and let me know how many followers you got, how many subscribers are kicking around there. I promise you that if you do that, okay, if you go on, create a brand new YouTube channel today, or use one that you have that's not seeing the growth create content 3 times minimum a week, make sure your whole channel is filled out properly, and you share it out to every single little thing in that share tab down there for 90 days— 90 days— you are gonna see at least 100 subs show up. It's easy, it's simple, it's repeatable. And that's not even getting into the best practices of title, thumbnail, community engagement, all of that jazz. Okay, so keep it simple, guys. Keep it real. If you guys have any questions, feel free to let me know in the comments down below. I answer Every single comment. Okay, guys? So question of the day though: What's it going to be? It's going to be let me know what your channel is. I'm interested. Let me know down below. I want to see your channels. I want to see what you guys are up to. So I love knowing my community, who they are, and what they're about. And this is not sub for sub. I'm not saying I'm going to sub to your channel. All I'm saying is I want to check it out. I want to see what you guys are up to. I want to see maybe if I can help you if you have questions with your channel. I'd love to do that stuff. I'd love it. Without further ado though, guys. That's it. Keep it simple. Build the shell, fill it with goodness. Make sure you share it out. Have a great day. We will see you tomorrow with another video. Later!
