How to Livestream to Youtube with OBS in 5 minutes (Beginner Friendly)

In this five‑minute tutorial, the presenter walks viewers through the entire process of setting up Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) for a quick YouTube live stream. He starts by showing how to download and install OBS, then creates a fresh scene and adds essential sources: a microphone and a video capture device (webcam). He configures basic OBS settings, recommending a 2500 kbps output bitrate, selects the desired audio input, and adjusts video source size. The tutorial then shifts to YouTube, explaining how to use the TubeBuddy extension to set the live title, description, thumbnail, category, and privacy before locating the YouTube stream key. After copying the stream key, he returns to OBS, pastes it into the Stream settings, and demonstrates that clicking “Start Streaming” launches the live broadcast with the pre‑configured metadata. The video ends with a call‑to‑action for likes, subscriptions, and further questions.

As far as audio goes, you'll have this stuff here set up. As far as picking your mic goes, right here you just head to your mic, pick out the one that you want— default, disabled, or a specific mic that you have. That's it. It's that simple. Now I've got my mic selected. You can note that, okay, that's fine. Down here you'll see the mic, and look at that, look at it moving as I speak. You know that your mic is working. You could make it private if you have a small group that you want to go live to specifically, but that's there for you. The rest of this is for when you actually go live, guys. It's that simple. Once this is all in there and loaded up, it's gonna save. You'll be fine when you go live. All right, we're back at YouTube. We're at your main channel. When you land in on YouTube, simply head back to your TubeBuddy link here. Live streaming, that's where I want to go. This page is gonna pop up when you go to live streaming. Fantastic.
