Stock Market Live: 420 Pot Rush? (#stockstowatch: $SNDL, $CURLF, $TLRY)

In this live YouTube stream Dan Willis, joined by co‑host Redemption, blends off‑beat anecdotes with real‑time market analysis. He opens with a quirky tour of the world’s last Blockbuster store in Bend, Oregon, now operating as an Airbnb, using the story to segue into a deep dive on Zymetica (ZMED) valuation. Willis critiques an analyst’s reliance on PE ratios, breaks down projected unit sales, gross‑margin assumptions, and ancillary revenue streams such as the myzymetica.com data platform, arguing the analyst’s conclusions are speculative. He then updates his own portfolio, reaffirming confidence in DGLY (Digital Ally) to reach $250, while noting broader market sentiment around BlackBerry and other holdings. The stream shifts to current news: protests and looting incidents potentially influencing retail stocks, a police‑audio‑verified warrant case, and a COVID‑19 breakthrough infection post‑Johnson & Johnson vaccination, highlighting herd‑immunity nuances. Willis wraps up with a sponsor plug for Cryptocurrency.com, mentioning its crypto‑charting tools, and announces his return schedule. Throughout, he intersperses personal updates (family, bathroom break) and engages the chat about ad experiences.
Chapters
How are we doing today? New day, new play. Lots of fun stuff going on. Lots of scary stuff going on as well. Riots and protests in Canada over the weekend, as well as riots and protests in Minneapolis over another BLM shooting. We've got Powell expecting explosive growth in the economy. All kinds of craziness about to head our way. So, uh, with that being said, Some of you will note we have a new sponsor for the stream until the end of April. Currency.com is the new sponsor for the stream, guys. If you are looking to trade crypto forex quickly, easily, currency.com is your guy. Click to get $50 down on Twitch. You can click it. Also, you will have that link available to you on other platforms, but on Twitch there is a little panel inside the chat that you can click on and get there right away. So new sponsors here. Everything from the sponsorship will be going towards that young man with leukemia that I had mentioned. Still prepping up the stream for the end of the month, but yeah, the money will be going towards this young man with leukemia. So shout out to currency.com for that as well. That being said, I'm gonna run and grab a cup of coffee. You guys let me know how you guys are doing after your long weekend. Good morning, good morning, good morning. Biden doing things and stuff. It's funny that the stream title is not updating. Bum bum bum bum bum. You guys can't see this because marbles is loading. Okay, just gonna load up marbles before I go to get coffee. There we go. Uh, let's go this one. Okay, I'm gonna grab coffee. I'll be right back, guys. Okay, here we go, here we go. Get in, get in, get in, get in if you're not in already. I really hope everybody had an amazing weekend though. Unfortunately, I had a little dude get quite the gash in his forehead. Just wondering if you guys can see that. Big old gasharino right on the head. Little monkey was climbing and gravity got him. So that's where I spent my, uh, my weekend, uh, dealing with that. Uh, missed out on that, uh, missed out on that beautiful, uh, Saturday DD with you guys. I did read a new book, uh, so we'll put that in today. But for those of you that are not already in, get in. Yeah, stitches. He got 3 stitches. He's gonna be a badass. He's gonna have a sweet scar on his head. No, he is, he is his father's son. He did not learn from it. As soon as we got out of the hospital, he was climbing on the railings outside of the hospital. So no, he did not learn from it, just like his daddy. All right, let's do this. Did the weigh-in last week, guys. Uh, weight loss started April 1st. Uh, decided I'm gonna try to get down to the lowest weight I have ever been. At least since I was 13. But yeah, I'm gonna try to break down to the 170s. Started at 225 April 1st, have dropped about 15.5 pounds off, so we're sitting at 209 right now, was the weigh-in. So everything is going well. Have not changed my diet— pizza, beer, takeout food, all of that is still in there— but I'm using intermittent fasting and calorie burn Well, I'm done my chores. No, the washroom's still a mess.
Go.
Anubetta takes the win. Uh, yeah, the first 2 weeks— I, I am acutely aware, guys, uh, I've done shred cycles before and I'm acutely aware the first 2 weeks, uh, it flies off. But after that it gets a little bit harder. So, Saki, I appreciate that. I'm actually going to focus on shred first and then I'll have a bulk afterwards. But this is definitely gonna be a hard shred, especially with the gyms being locked down for at least 4 weeks here in Ontario. It does not make sense for me to try to convert fat to muscle at the moment. So what I'm going to do is control calorie intake, um, intermittent fasting, as well as, um, actually something new that I'm trying that I haven't tried before is cycling medication. So using, uh, using my cannabis directly before bed to accelerate my metabolism while I sleep. And that's during my fasting cycle as well, which is proving to have some pretty solid results.
So.
Clean out the hallway then. Go clean up the hallway, all the stuff in the hallway. Yeah, let's do DGLY. I can do that. Let's do DGOY because I'm still holding DGOY options. I don't have an equity position in them, but I've got a 2023 DGOY call. So any CBD in your medical? Yeah, yeah, that's CBD before bed. Uh, smoke about a gram before bed. Um, sponsor is here, guys, currency.com. Uh, there is a command code set up for that as well. Uh, I believe it's Currency that I set it up for. There you go. So you guys can definitely check that out. We are going to take a look at it intermittently. It is also going to be the new tool that I use to track cryptocurrencies in real time. It actually does a really good job of that. I was playing around with a little bit over the weekend, and I don't need to pay for a robot vacuum. I've got eight kids. Yeah, I mean, I will be doing calisthenics. There will be like I've been going for walks. I'm going for runs. I've been going for you know push-ups, sit-ups, that kind of stuff. But next big date for Zom would be earnings or whenever they decide to drop a press release. International Pet Day was over the weekend, so I thought maybe we'd see something there. But this is the tool here, guys. It's a really great quick look at kind of what's going on. It's real-time access to it, so you're not waiting on delayed. features. I'm kind of a big fan. Now, the actual trading tool is not available in Canada. They don't have access to that yet, so they don't have access to the trading tool in Canada.
But screenshot I sent you was only the prelim, apparently.
Oh good.
Oh, uh, it has about 1,600 views now.
So I'm gonna put a pin on this because I was right in the middle of my sponsorship. So, um, yeah, we'll come back. This is currency.com, guys. Um, so while I'm using it for charting at the moment on real-time access to all of these tickers and whatnot, uh, you guys can also, uh, trade directly on it. It does have the ability to do that for those of you in the US and the EU, I believe. So that's there for you guys to take a look at. But yeah, this is just a little bit easier for me than the Coinbase one. The Coinbase one was specifically Bitcoin, but I do have holdings in Ethereum at the moment. So to have real-time access to these charts is fantastic. I'm a big fan. So far, thumbs up, love the tool. Now there is 2 options on this for trading, guys. Be aware that there is a leverage and an exchange account. While leverage is an option that a lot of people like to have, I'm not gonna fault you for having it. I'm just gonna caution you to be very careful with leverage trading, uh, in this market. Stay very, very cautious with your—
Okay.
Very, very cautious with your, um, any kind of leverage trading that you're doing. Uh, right now I do no leverage trading. Everything that I'm in is a dollar-to-dollar trade. So, um, yeah, I, I think that's what the max is on this is 100 times leverage, but that's Insanity for me. So, um, but that's it. Don't you need to put ad in your title?
No, I don't.
No, it's not required. It's really funny what people think is required and what's not required. I am not in any way required to disclose that in the title.
No. Sorry, I keep thinking from FTC point of view and I forgot that CRTC doesn't do shit.
Well, even if the FTC, I don't have to put ad in the title unless the entire stream is dedicated to that sponsorship, and it's not. So go downstairs and don't come in here again. All right. Um, and obviously there's clear disclosure that they are a paid sponsor of the channel that I will be doing regularly. Um, the other thing that they have started to do, guys, for all of you that are partners on Twitch, you don't have to worry about this, but when I go away for coffee or whatever, I am going to start running a 1-minute ad break. Uh, YouTube is trying out something new now where they run an ad, but it's gonna be interactive. Okay. Um, and the way that the ad works is they'll show all of you— it's called a multiplayer ad— so they're going to show all of you guys the same ad. And then there will be a brief poll afterwards. And depending on the number of you guys that vote in the poll, I'll actually receive bits based off of you guys voting on the poll. So for those of you that are subscribers, I— it's not going to show up. It's not going to affect you at all. Subs don't see ads. But as far as those of you that are new to the channel or recently following, you are going to see instead ads when I walk away from the screen instead of an empty chair. So just be aware of that. Okay, what are we looking at pre-market here? Your video is going well. Sorry, you were saying redemption. Redemption on Mike, guys. I'll throw the disclaimer in. Anything that you guys hear on stream here, none of us are financial professionals. We are private retail traders. We show you how we trade so that you can learn how we trade, but it's never ever ever financial advice. We won't provide you financial advice for your portfolio, what you should buy, what you should sell. It will always always always be. our opinion on a ticker specifically. Okay, um, let's go influencer here.
It's not, uh, information that's tailored to you, period.
So yeah, yeah, there is no personal financial advice that you will ever hear on the stream, whether it's in the chat from myself or on mic here in the audio. Uh, if you hear something that sounds like financial advice, you're hearing it wrong. Uh, it's not financial advice. You should not be taking financial advice from bozos on the internet.
Yeah, that screenshot I sent you before, right? That was like 200, 300, which in the first hour was like, that's very weird. Like, I've did— like, I was just like, did I just go viral or something like that? I don't know what the hell someone did or whatever, right? What was it? The thing is at 1,600 right now, and I'm just like, it's It is the top video in my entire thing. It beats out the GME stuff.
That's good.
I am thoroughly impressed by it because I thought that I would get heavily shit on, especially since this wasn't a very popular topic on StockTwits. I just figured people would just ignore it or whatever, right? But the initial comments were somewhat okay. Like they were actually somewhat civil. Uh, which is, again, I'm super surprised by that, like, because they're just like, no, uh, Hindenburg was wrong because XYZ, uh, they've been proven wrong because they got the wrong address on this thing, blah blah and so forth, right? And there were some like really nice civil ones, and then later, later into the night is when like the crazy shitters start coming out. But I didn't really— didn't care too much. But, um, yeah, I, yeah, I, I don't know what happened. I don't know how this happened, but I, I thought that someone might have shared my thing elsewhere, but it's not making Like, none of it makes sense. I don't know why this one exploded compared to everything else. There is—
Sometimes it's just consistency. It's just consistency. The algorithm is learning what you are and what you do. That's sort of—
Oh, okay. All right. I think I see. Hang on. Let me just show you this screenshot here.
Okay. While you're doing that, guys, book for the week was 100 Bagger. Okay. So a lot of you have heard Peter Lynch talk about the 10 Bagger. This book is all about the 100 Bagger, and this is more a long-term 10-year trading style. Actually, the book was a really great read for those of you that are looking to be more passive investors. You're not doing this full-time, you've got a job, you're just looking to put money into the account and you're willing to look 10, 15, 20, 30 years down the road and have a very passive investment strategy. This book is phenomenal for passive investment. It is not in any way a short-term day trade swing trade book. It is a long-term investment strategy. The biggest takeaway from it was the idea of coffee can investment. So all you guys will remember coffee cans, you know what that is, right? Back in the day, the wives used to tuck away whatever little money they had in a coffee can somewhere underneath their mattress. And that would be kind of their emergency fund that they had. But the idea is that they didn't touch it, they just slowly put little bits of money into this coffee can and just tucked it away. And it wasn't to be touched. And then, you know, when they retired, they would take out all their coffee cans of money and that would be what they had to live on. Well, the same idea is what this guy applies to these 100-baggers is you find companies that are solid companies, good revenue growth, gross profit. A lot of the stuff that Redemption and I have been looking at for companies are, you know, are we seeing good R&D? Are we seeing development? Are we seeing good revenue growth over and over and over again consistently year over year over year instead of week, month, day? We're looking at year over year over year over year over the term of a decade. And when you can identify those 100-baggers, you essentially Take your money. The entire book list will be here, and I just added it so you can find it. Oh, wrong one. This one. So it's on that list there. It'll be the first one on the storefront. Hundred Baggers by Christopher Meyer. It's there for you guys. Definitely check that out. It was a worthwhile read for sure. The idea is, you know, say you've got $1,000 a month, $5,000 a month, whatever it is that you can put in towards your investment portfolio. You find one of these hundred baggers and you put your money on that. So check that out.
Like, I'm very particular to monopolistic practices. Basically, if they have a monopoly on the sector, on the product, on the thing or whatever, I like them, especially if they're a new company because they're more willing to do stuff and they have like zero competition. So they have the entire market share.
So those are all points that he touches on in the book. In the book, he touches on seeking out companies that have what he calls a financial moat. And a financial moat could be a small company in an innovative and evolving industry that has the potential to be a long-term player in it. So think about Monster Energy when it started, or Nike, or Apple, or Microsoft. These, these companies that come along and are innovative startups in a new industry And their protection is the fact that they've got something that's unique to them. So with Apple, it was the, you know, the original Apple computer you had. With Nike, you had the Jordans. You had, you know, Microsoft has been around with Windows. These moats that are created are protection for their growth in their sector. So that's one of the things that you're looking at. They can also be big players. There are big players, guys, that you can't count out. There are guys like Apple.
Boeing.
Currently at $100, that if they do break into the automotive sector, they're just gonna be a massive beast. And that's something they're looking at doing.
Boeing.
Yeah, Boeing could come back. CCL is a big beast. It could come back. So you have to keep that in mind as well, guys. There's lots of opportunity out there. But the idea is you take whatever you're willing to invest on your monthly schedule, and you take that and you throw that sucker into into your coffee can fund and you don't touch it. You leave it until retirement. And what he found was the people that followed this strategy, did they have losers? Yeah, he said probably 7 out of 10 were losers and whatever their monthly money was that they put into that thing just disappeared. It was gone. But the 3 winners that they had, 2 of those winners tended to, you know, be those 100-baggers and then one of them tended to be a 1,000-bagger. And so in a year, if over 12 months you pick 12 stocks and you got that money in there, well, if you're putting $1,000 in a month and 2 of them are guaranteed by the end of your retirement to be— well, not guaranteed, but are likely to be 100-baggers— well, that $1,000 is going to turn into $100,000 on each of those. And the one that's going to be a 1,000-bagger, well, there's a good chance that that one could become a million-dollar holding. So it's an interesting strategy. It's not necessarily for me at the moment. That may be something that I look at down the road where As this portfolio grows, I look to just put into a coffee can fund, and that'll be something I track on the side. But market is open, so let's head on over and watch DGLY out the gate, guys. Of course, the excitement about DGLY is on the basis of the protests in Minneapolis again. Yeah, yeah, about 20 minutes away from where the George Floyd trial is being held, there was a young guy that was shot for having air fresheners on his rearview mirror.
All right, so I sent you the screenshot. I think that's the reason why this thing took off.
Yeah, yeah, it's exactly what I just said, right? The algorithm is learning.
Yeah, yeah, look at the things I'm actually ranking for too, like investing and trading. Like, that's the most common words out there.
Yeah, the— so the, the date you dropped this on Sunday?
Yep.
Yeah, so Sunday's a good day for you to drop it then, and the algorithm is picking you up and pumping you into the Monday. So Sunday's a great day for you to drop video. All right, yeah, DGLY out the gate. It had a nice little start at $177, has come back down. I do still have DGLY calls for 2023 at $250. I am extremely bullish on DGLY over the next year and the potential that that stock holds. I think it's gonna be big, big, big, big, big for sure. Um, guys, charity stream is gonna be probably the last Saturday of April. Um, so the 30th. Next, uh, this Saturday coming up, I will not be here, guys. Uh, sorry, I shouldn't say the last Saturday of April. The 1st of May, uh, will probably be the charity stream. We have numbers on what the chemo costs with insurance, with medical insurance in the States. His chemo treatment is going to cost him $1,500 a month. So thanks to the new sponsor on the stream. The stream will already be providing his first month of chemo, but I will be putting out targets on the May 1st stream. All donations will go directly to this young man with leukemia. And now diabetes as a result of leukemia. Hopefully, I'm looking hopefully to see if we can't make it work out for him for an entire quarter. But we'll see. We'll see what we can do. I'm gonna have some milestones for sure. But my heart goes out to the family. $1,500 a month on top of you know whatever else is going on with travel and everything else. If I'm able to provide them a couple months of support. Uh, to alleviate that, I'm happy to do so. Um, the stream was made for, uh, the shits and the giggles, the Scotch money, and so that I wasn't insane talking to nobody. But if I can use it to, uh, help a young man, uh, fight leukemia, then great, great. Why the hell not? Um, Yeah, this weekend, guys, I will not be around. It is my birthday. My wife is whisking me away, so, uh, you will not see me this Saturday. Uh, I know you all will miss me. I'll miss you greatly as I'm Not here hanging out with my wife. I won't actually miss you guys. It's not personal. It's just she's way hotter than you guys. DGLY down though. So are we ready to see the bleed on my portfolio? I am predicting I am red again. It's another red day. That's the Canadian portfolio. Yep, down again. Tilza Medica and SNDL get some upward movement. There ain't gonna be da squad. I'm the big 36 this year, guys. 36 years old. Not sure what to do about that. Gonna hit that midlife crisis in stride. Now SNDL, guys, has dropped below the dollar mark, which is a big deal. It may not seem like a big deal, but it is a big deal. They want to stay compliant. So one of 3 things need to happen here. This naturally needs to buy up. It It needs to have people that are holding the stock continue to push this. If that's the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust, I would invest directly into a miner or the currency itself. Fractional on Bitcoin. The Grayscale Bitcoin Trust has a large premium. I think it's 24% on the underlying currency. They are fleecing you on it for sure. Either needs natural support to bring it back above a dollar. Or it needs to drop PR, or it needs to do an RS, or they could do a stock buyback. One of those. It's got to be one of those. They cannot have this stock head back to the OTC. It will kill the company. So we'll see what today has for it. Out the gate. Not a ton of volume here. 4 million down. Let's go to the scanners. They got $700 million that they're sitting on. Uh, my thought with the $700 million, guys, was that we can expect to see SNDL make a big announcement in this week. We have 4/20 coming up, and I have a huge expectation that we are going to see something big come out of SNDL in that time. A lot of familiar names showing up here on the volume, uh, SNDL, CTRM, SOS, and NA-KD. Uh, SOS, guys, for those of you that have not seen it yet, Redemption does have a video out on YouTube. Do you want to drop that link in chat there?
Oh, for— oh yeah, hang on a second. Honestly, I tried to look for some of the— so Rita said something to me on the weekend and I decided to, um, investigate it, right? Um, so she said that, uh, so like obviously we know that China can lie on their SEC filings, right? But they can't lie to their own government. So she suggested that we go look for those Chinese filings because those should be public. And although they are kind of public, I don't know how their site functions because it just makes no sense to me. As far as I can tell, she said that if you're listed on a US exchange and you're from China, you have to be listed on the Chinese exchange as well. And I've checked. I couldn't find any of them, which then led me to an assumption that they are being traded in China, but they're trading it under like a government holding company.
So for example, give me an example of a stock.
Alibaba.
So BABA ticker, China exchange. It's right there, Baba SW9988.HK. It's on the—
Look for, um, oh no, Hong Kong doesn't really count. Like, we're looking because it's, um, okay, try to look for NIO then, because I tried to look for the pinyin for that directly on like Shenzhen, or because I, I didn't trust if it was from Hong Kong because I don't know what the geopolitical situation is over there.
Hong Kong is China. Yeah, so yeah, Hong Kong is China.
See if you can find NIO because Chinese ticker should be called Weifan or something like that.
NIO is not publicly traded in China.
That, according to Rita, should be impossible because they are— they have to have like a local listing by law or something like that there, but I also, I also noticed it's an ADR.
It's not direct holding. But yeah, no, there is no, there is no foreign listing for NIO. Yeah, it's not even on the Hong Kong. It's, it's NIO. Neo HK ticker.
Like, I was reading a couple papers and one of them said that like some of these tickers you won't find directly. This was before like, you know, Hong Kong was taken over again, but they were saying that if you couldn't find a ticker on the Chinese exchange, chances are that they are under like somewhat of the umbrella because the government had, although there's like 1,500 listings on the Shenzhen or the Shanghai or whichever, they were claiming that because China is so like, they basically structured it like how some people structure their tax structures in America where they have like a shell company in a foreign state and then another company in their home state and they just do business back and forth. It makes it seem like they're like One entity.
Yeah. Well, yeah. What I'm seeing here is Neo's only listed on the Nasdaq shares. Neo aren't listed on in Hong Kong or China. So yeah, I would say its government ties are probably really, really tight.
I just I just don't count Neo as a as a I just count HK as Freelo four month resub.
Thanks for that, man.
Uh, I just don't count the HK market as part of the Chinese market because I just don't know what the, the story with their integration is.
Get used to it. Get used to it. It is, it is, it is, it is. That's why all these Chinese companies are looking to dual list NASDAQ and, and the, uh, the Hang Seng. Uh, Hang Seng is a way to be on the Chinese market without being directly on the Chinese market. For whatever little comfort that provides these companies, and then the U.S. market is the U.S. market. You want a piece of it. But yeah, Hansang is China for all.
Yeah, the most recent one I looked up, I couldn't find like the SOS thing that everybody keeps clustering over because they're they're only up because people they were saying that they were going to get into cloud mining. With Bitcoin. And they're so far behind Mara. The argument that I've been posed is that, oh, they're going to be bigger than Riot or Mara because they're the biggest miner in China with 5,000 miners, which is kind of strange because they're late to the game. But they're also grabbing this hydroelectric plant which needs to burn off excess electricity. I'm like, again, you need a source to cite, not just you writing about some random article in the middle of nowhere.
Yeah.
And I'm like, how? Like, look at their fucking revenue. They're declining. They've been declining year over year. They've pulled money from SG&A. They pulled money from revenue— I said from, um, research and development. And they got a slight boost with this Bitcoin thing and they're still not profitable. And then on top of that, like, everybody keeps talking about these joint venture tech things or whatever. I'm like, that's absolutely nothing. Like, no one cares. And yeah, they're just overall horrible. Like, I don't know where they're getting their logic from, but it's not logic.
Yeah, guys, I have seen an awful lot of, uh, an awful lot of folks sending, um, sending me articles for proofs on Zemedica and SNDL from either, uh, Investor's Place or Motley Fool. And if you send me an article from either of those things saying, see, you're wrong, don't expect me to take it very seriously, or the next message that you send me. Investor's Place and Motley Fool, the two of them are an absolute joke. Let's pop into Motley Fool real quick and I'll show you why. So if I type in sundial here and I look at the articles that Motley Fool has written. They literally are doing the ambulance chasing. Oh, is this stock being talked about? Then we are going to just pump out articles over and over and over and over and over again. Okay. When you're reading an article from someone, find out who they are. Go to their bio. He's a graduate from UC San Diego with a BA in economics. Sean specializes in the healthcare sector and investment planning. You'll often find him writing about Obamacare, marijuana, drug and device development, Social Security, taxes, retirement, yada yada yada. Okay, so he has a B in economics. He works in investment planning, so he should have some kind of a track record to him, right? So the next step I'm going to take is I'm going to head over here. I'm going to go Sean Williams, and if he doesn't show up here— oh, there he is. He's a blogger from Motley Fool. Fifty-fifty. He's a coin flip. His his winning ratings. He's got Facebook, Siri, Crowd. No, he doesn't have to own positions in these. Okay, he does not need to own position as a blogger on TipRanks. All he has to do is write an article about it. Okay, but here are his ratings. So he can write about whatever company he wants, and he's bullish on Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway, GameStop, AMC. Palantir, Fastly, Teladoc, Square, CrowdStrike, Siri, and Facebook. Okay, not really tough coverage. Okay, so I don't, I don't give him a ton of weight when he, when he's writing about these things. What's interesting is he's writing negative articles. AMC is a no-win scenario. Okay, then why are you bullish on it?
He obviously copied my video information.
Um, so that's Motley Fool, guys. Uh, the next one is Investor's Place. Let's go— sure, let's go here. Search. Guaranteed you're gonna find a ton of articles on Sundial on this one too. Okay, Thomas Neal writing again. Freelance writer with an accounting background. He's a writer. He's not an investor. Find people that are actually investors. Zamedica. He's been trading since the dot-com bubble and has been a writer ever since. What that tells me is he got his ass handed to him in the dot-com bubble and never went back. Let's go here. Let's go Zamenica. This was another one, guys, where Oh no, it wasn't Zymetica, it was GME that it got an outrageous price target. So when GME was showing signs of decline, this lady here— all of these guys are not ranked all of a sudden, interesting. Here's the lady saying that GME is going to hit a $175 price target 12 months from now. She sees a 15% upside. This is the lady that they went, well, see, there's a bull case. Even the, even the big boys, Jefferies, are are coming around to how profitable this company is going to be. Guys, a coin flip is a 50/50 odd. She does worse than a coin flip. Please, please, please, please, please do your due diligence and read up not just on the articles that you're reading, but the people that are writing these articles, that are giving you these analysis. It's a big deal. If you head over to StockTwits and somebody sends an article, so let's go here. Somebody's gonna, if we go to SNDL, somebody's gonna post an article here. And I guarantee you're gonna see it's from Investor's Place or it's from Motley Fool every time. Let's go till we find the article. Should you buy Appria? Looking for an article about SNDL. For CBD drug use. Come on, show me an SNDL article. There's got to be one here. This is the problem with these massive volume stocks, is people post— that's industry as a whole. Come on, show me an article. With an absurd 1.6 billion shares, yada yada yada. 3 ultra-popular Robinhood stocks in desperate need of a reverse split. Who it is? It's our buddy Sean. It's our buddy Sean. He doesn't like Castor Maritime, Sundial Growers, or Zymetica. All three I have contrarian approaches to for different reasons. Sundial into an emerging legalization sector with no debt on hand, seven hundred million cash in their pocket to spend on whatever they want. So I completely disagree with where he is on this. Castro Maritime—they went from having a very, very little fleet to having massive amounts of ships. I think they own. Yeah, so they went from three vessels to six, and then they have doubled to fourteen ships since the year began. You know what happens to an international shipping company as commerce reopens internationally, and you've gone from three vessels to fourteen vessels? It's it's insane. It's huge.
He doesn't like it.
Zemedica again, the due diligence I've done on Zemedica. Um, you guys have been here, you know my thoughts on that, you know, you know where I stand on that. So, uh, I ultimately just disagree with this guy over and over and over again. Um, now the past few months while I've been holding these positions, how's my portfolio done? What is my smart portfolio look like? How do I rank on this? Even with this month, March, being a real kick in the nuts, and then April not looking so great at the gate, I'm still kicking the crap out of this guy. That may not seem like a lot, that 14%. The interesting thing, guys, is once this May disappears from this chart, this number is gonna go up because this is when I started using this platform and I didn't use it for properly. I put all of my trades from January till May in on a single day, which shows this massive loss, which in reality it wasn't. This is the time that I went from $2,000 to like $25,000. So, um, once this month is gone, you're gonna see this number go much, much higher. So for me, I'm not gonna listen to somebody writing an article offering me their opinion when I wouldn't take financial advice from them. Right? So if I can pull them up on this and we go, okay, well, what about Warren Buffett? I don't even know if it's gonna pull up a— yeah, I won't even pull up a thing for him. But like, let's go to Wall Street analysts. Dude's got a 47% success rate. Listed as a 5-star analyst. Am I gonna listen to this guy? Am I? This is one of the top Wall Street analysts. Is this a guy that I'm gonna listen to? Hells no. Worse than a coin flip. 58%. Am I gonna listen to this guy? No. I, I've got a better track record. This guy? No, he's still a percent down. Know who you're trading against. Track your trades. Track your win rates. Know what you're doing. Know what you're trading. Don't just— just because smart money tells you something is one way and you should do it that way, uh-uh. Look at this guy. So just to be clear, guys, know who you're taking your financial advice from. Do your own damn due diligence. Do your own damn due diligence. If you're self-managing your portfolio and you think that that's a great idea, fine, fine. However, make sure you're doing it. You're doing the work, you're doing the research, you're doing the studies. You're not just trusting somebody on the internet who said so. And that goes for not just there, but that goes for sites like this where you type in, oh, I want to know about this. And you go, okay, well this guy here says that I should buy it, but this guy here says I shouldn't. And this guy says I should. And this guy says I shouldn't. And this guy says I should. And this guy says I shouldn't. And this guy says I should. Like, YouTube is not where you get your financial advice. And yeah, I'm on YouTube. Yeah, Redemption's on YouTube. But we make a point of telling you that we are not giving you financial advice. What you can learn from these social platforms, guys, is the thought process of these people. Understand how they break things down, what their thoughts are, what they're looking at, okay? But please, please, please do not get sucked into trading what these people are trading. Just because they say so. There's a lot of confirmation bias where I open this up and go, oh, $5 soon. Well, I've got a price target of $10 on Zemedica, so this guy agrees kind of with what I'm saying. So look, see, the latest top video is accurate with me. Okay, great. Oh, price manipulation. Oh, there's some more bias for me, right? I can hold on longer because these guys say on the internet that there's price manipulation on this. Like, Kenneth, thanks so much for the follow, man. Greatly appreciate it. Let me know how you found the stream, what it is you trade. Um, but yeah, guys, please, please, please don't, don't trade off of what you're seeing on social media. Listen, sure, understand how other people make their trades, their thought process, learn from it. But you should always be crafting your own trading methodology, always have your own trading style, because if you're trading to mimic somebody else's style, you have no edge. You have no edge in the market whatsoever. Your edge is gone because you are trading off of somebody else's edge. Okay, Luciano with that 2-month resub, let's go! Speaking of which, guys, my coffee is empty. I need, uh, I need a fresh coffee. I really do. So, um, for those of you that are subbed— oh, you were watching other stock channels and I got recommended. Fantastic. Well, welcome, welcome, welcome. Uh, I'm gonna run that 1-minute ad break. I'm gonna go get a coffee. Hopefully you guys get one of those poll ads because I'm excited. To see how those work, and we will take it from there. It's interesting, this is saying my bitrate is unstable, but I've got no dropped frames, so what do they know, huh? What do they know? All right, uh, I'll be right back. Coffee time.
All right.
All right, and we're back. Did you guys get one of those ads? Did you get one of those fancy voting ads? Impossible Foods hires former Apple creative leader. Okay. Damn. Popusa Dro, thank you so much for the follow. Pop. USA, Drew. Thanks for following, man. Let me know how you found the stream, what it is you trade. Um, so let's just go down this, this list here, guys. I did not get to take a look at the, um, the catalyst for this week, so I do want to do that. This, this is one article that if you guys aren't checking out weekly, I highly recommend that you do. Normally I break this down over the weekend. This, uh, this Seeking Twitter light mode. Yeah, I do everything in light mode. I'm getting old, you know, my eyes need the bright. But the Seeking Alpha Catalyst watch, guys, is really, really valuable just to keep you aware of everything that's going on. It's tough to keep track of everything that's going on in the market. I can't provide you any suggestions, but I do recommend that you take a look at a lot of DD before you dive into the market, for sure. Penny stocks are risky as hell, man. They are risky as hell. It's all I can say. Now, that being said, that's all I've played for the last year, but let me tell you, you better have cojones, balls of steel if you wanna make it through, 'cause there are times when your portfolio, like right now, started this year with $50 grand in my portfolio. We went as high as $120, And right now the portfolio is on a drawdown of— it's the US margin— $60K. It's worth $60K. So I've got a drawdown of about 50% right now from all-time highs on this portfolio. Now I did take $10 grand out for myself already, uh, this year, but, uh, this portfolio is still holding, uh, at $40 grand. So, and you have to be willing— like, this is what happens with these stocks is It— you gotta, you gotta know what you're holding and you gotta be very, very confident. Um, but I did see 2,700% gains last year, so, uh, and we'll see what we're doing this year. Now I'm still doing well comparatively for the year. I'm still seeing a 30% gain on the year, which is not terrible. Uh, a 30% gain is still respectable, but heading into the end of the year, we'll see what we'll see. Uh, I, I suspect that my portfolio could potentially finish somewhere around $400K for the year. But we'll see what happens. All right, so April 10th through the 15th, there's a biotech watch. There's a bunch of different— the American Association for Cancer Research, this conference is the biggest one of the year for cancer. So any of the biocompanies that are traditionally attached to cancer research, expect them to do well this week. They're This is where they save their announcements for. So new news on a leukemia drug. Exciting. Yeah. So from the American Association of Cancer Research, this meeting, all this conference all week, guys, is going to be producing these articles. It is the— it is the— what's a big conference? What's a big— like, it's the E3 of bio. Right? Like it's it's the it's the event. Stocks with high volatility continue to be GME, AMC. Lots of short interest into GTT and High Point for those of you that like that short play. Yeah, variant surges and vaccines. Bio is what I did initially trade January through April last year. Bio can be that much scarier if you're not already using this tool and you are interested in bio. I highly recommend that you go check out this tool. I can make this recommendation for education purposes. This is not to take trades off of, but for education purposes, you should really, really take a look at this. This bio calendar lets you know when companies have approval from the FDA. This is big. This is a very, very useful tool for anybody that's looking at trading healthcare for sure. Okay, all week there are conferences. So there's a Needham Healthcare conferences, GPU Tech, Gold Forum, Canaccord Genuity Horizons in oncology. So there's another cancer event happening. Data reports due out from Caterpillar. This will be a big one when we— John Deere is doing quite well in Asia. It'll be interesting to see if Caterpillar is also doing well. Boeing. Boeing is a scary one on deliveries, so that report is coming out. This is just today, so we can expect that today. It is the action date for FBIO and ATXI, so this is what we're talking about. Both of them have an action date on the day. So if I go to this calendar, we'll see FBIO is here. This is their PDUFA date. So if they get the approval today on this drug, Uh, you can expect to see this run, uh, probably to the $10 to $15 range. Uh, let's see if news is coming in that they got that or not. No, news has not come in yet, but, uh, there, there's a decent possibility of that doing that. Let's see, FBio, there's analysts on this. Yeah, they got this at $10 to $24. Uh, so if they get their PDUFA, that could be a great play on the day. Um, actually, I wonder if F-Bio has options. It does have options. I don't really want to move my options around, but there, there is a great potential on that for sure. Um, today— now we're gonna pull that bio up tomorrow and see that it's around a 10. Would have been 100% gain on the day. Um, but yeah, that, that's, that's how that tool can be played. But again, you see how Seeking Alpha led me to that, which leads me to the next tool, which leads me to the next tool. So again, guys, having the right tools. Speaking of which, the video is finally edited. I just need to do the backend optimization for YouTube on how to play the stock market based off the sports analogy. That video will be out, um, by the end of the week, I promise. Nvidia has a keynote address today, so we'll see what Nvidia has to say about their RTX 30 series, how that's doing. Zorro Investor Day, there probably won't be much there. Signet Jewelers, this will be interesting to see if luxury items are still continuing to sell well. Why is the price target so high? Because that's where bio stocks go. That, that's where bio stocks go when they get their PDUFA on their first designation. $10+, which is why with Zemedica I am so bullish on it. Because if this is their first product to market, it's a massive diagnostic, uh, in a billion-dollar industry. I'm, I'm bullish on it. I think $10 to $15 is not unreasonable, but we just need news of actual sales. Now that we have the price on it, we did get, uh, confirmation on price. The Zemedica price is 12,500. They are forecasting 7.5 million in sales for the first year. I was hoping that they were forecasting closer to the 30 million mark. Is that the right number of zeros? 33, 2 more. So, oh, that's 300 million. Oops, let's take one off. They would need to sell 240 units, Zemedica, in order to make their annual operation operating costs. For them to sell 240 units across the East Coast, I think is extremely possible. It's not out of reach. So we'll see what Miller Vet Supply can do for them. Their May earnings should provide excellent guidance for us. There should be a lot of anticipation and buildup into that May earnings. So we'll see what we will see. Um, Tuesday we've got Macau, so that's going to be big for the gambling sector. Uh, KKR is holding an investor day. Uh, ARK has its monthly webinar, so we'll see what that looks like. I would love to see ARK, uh, drop Zemedica into their portfolio for sure. 2,400 units, not 240. So they need to make $30 million, right? So it's $30 million. Oh, I put in the wrong thing on this side too. My bad. You're right. Uh, that may be ambitious, but that being said, I still think that they can do probably 1,000 units, which would be huge for 2 of them to get started. It's just the East Coast. Anyway, from now until— we're in April, so April till the end of the year, if you divide that by 12, so we'll do 2,400 divided by 12, Miller has to sell 200 units a month. It's a high goal. It's a lofty goal, but we'll see what they can do. Right now they're just on the East Coast, and there are some major markets on the East Coast: New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Florida. Illinois, Ohio, Texas. But as they move out to California, Washington, Oregon, they're gonna see the sales really spike. I think California is gonna be massive for them when they get out there. So just keeping that in mind, guys. What else do we have here? Cryptocurrency Coinbase will begin trading on Wednesday, so that'll be an exciting ride to watch.
I hear that thing's already inflated to high hell.
Yeah. Yeah. $440 is the opening price that they're projecting.
I mean, it's the first kind, so.
Yeah, exactly. How do you accurately price it? You can't. There is no way that you can accurately price the value That's about the Medica. That's how many units they have to sell GXO in order to meet their annual operating costs. To be cash flow positive, they would need to sell 2,400 units.
Honestly, I know the initial investors would never go for this, but if they were to do— if they actually did a direct listing, it would actually have been fairly priced, quote unquote, coming out of the gates, and then the public market would drive it up, right? But because they're doing a regular standard IPO that's going to come out super inflated.
Uh, the vote on the Tilray-Afria merger is coming up, guys, so be aware of that. Uh, that's heading into 4/20, so that's their play on it. And other than that, there's nothing else. Um, now 4/20, guys, annually has been really, really good for pot stocks. Uh, let's pull up Pull up a chart here. We'll look at a couple of them. Let's go CGC, 5 years. Okay, so let's find April every year. So this is way back when. It's about even there. This one actually had a decline into April. Following year, 2018. Into April, so it hit a low of. I need my info window here. It had a low of sixteen dollars in February, and by April twentieth went to twenty five eleven. Following year. April 20th. Had you got in just a week before on this thing, it had a low of 39 and went as high as 50 on 420 news. Uh, the following year, 2020, uh, as low as $12.80, and by 4/20, $16.15. If SNDL drops news of some kind of an acquisition in the US pre or just post 4/20, it, it will fly. It will just fly. But I guess that news is more so going to start coming out Friday, Monday is when we can expect to see most of that. I expect pot stocks over the weekend to just kinda go nuts, just get a little bit insane. Okay, where do we go now? Where do we go? It's 10:14. It looks like I'm not gonna see movement on anything that I've got today. Zemedica is down to 114 right now. Now that is a huge drop. Another 8% drop here. Let's take a look at the the heat map, see how the market's doing today. Tesla's green, which is great, but you'll note the very red hue that is the market. This is all the U.S., so this is both exchanges. Well, all three exchanges, I should say: the S&P 500, Nasdaq, and Dow Jones. It is a red market, ladies and gentlemen. Now, you wouldn't really know that to hop in here and go, "Well, let's take a look at how the SPY is doing." We look at this over the last 6 months, it's still just trucking up, but she bleeds is what I hear from most folks. ZOM is ugly, glad I didn't put much into it. I'm glad I put a lot into it. I am still extremely confident that this thing is gonna— who knows how long I've gotta hold it for. I may be stuck in this position for a good long time. But I am, I am very firm on my DD with this thing. I think this is going to be the Xerox of vet analysis. And there's already a lot of people out there writing about the pet boom. Instead of a baby boom, we are seeing a massive pet boom. This pet boom— pets aren't going to go away. Uh, actually, they're just going to get older and require more and more medical. And more— Zemedica puts out more and more test kits, more test samples, uh, on top of their liquid biopsy. Like, there's just a solid pipeline. I believe in the stock. I know what they're doing. Uh, the company that they've got, the gentleman who's the CEO of Zemedica, uh, we looked them up on LinkedIn. Not Michael Schlick. He's the— Michael Schlick is the guy that we connected to, the VP of US and Global Diagnostics. But 28 employees. Here's the chairman, Jerry Selinsky. Jerry. Has an esteemed background, but the most important thing with Jerry is his time with. Oh, he's taken it off. It used to be here. He worked as the as the vice president with Pfizer, and he's not that's not listed here anymore. Unless it wasn't. I could have sworn that was him. Hmm. Unless it's this guy. This guy? No, this is the guy. So this is the other interesting thing. The other major competitor in that industry, guys, is the other interesting thing with this is their commercial officer. So this is the guy in charge of the sales of the units. IDEX is their direct competitor in this industry, and he was the head of sales and marketing. There are a lot of people suggesting that there may just be a buyout offer from IDEX on Zemedica that may just directly buy this out. In which case, I don't think I see the $10 on Zomedica. What I see is a buyout.
Their cash flow is well managed, right? Because Yeah, I've seen buyouts come out. Okay. All right. Because I was like, I was gonna say, like, I've seen a lot of— I've seen buyouts. They're kind of rare in some cases, but they come out under, under the price, under the current market price.
Yeah. So I was like, they're the, the valuation for a buyout on Zemedica, because they don't have revenue yet, is not going to be what a typical buyout would be, right? So let's say Microsoft looks to buy out Activision, let's say, right? They want to expand their game holdings. They want to buy Activision. They would have to price their buyout based off of the current assets and valuation of the company as it exists today. That's not how a buyout of Zymetica would work because they have no revenue. What would have to be forecasted is the forward-looking valuation of the company over the next 5 years. So that may be why the initial sales numbers are going to be so crucial for Zymetica. If IDEXX is considering a buyout, they're going to want to see what the sales performance is on the competitor, right? It's not going to be based off the initial stock price, it'll be based off the stock price that they see this thing in 5 years. That's what Zymetica is going to bargain off of. You can buy us out now when we are, you know, at $1.15 and offer us $8 a share based off of where we think we're going to be in 5 years. Or you can wait the 5 years and our stock could be worth $80, and you'll have missed that opportunity, right? It's the Blockbuster Netflix thing where Blockbuster gets offered to buy Netflix for $1 billion and they say, no, it's not worth it, right? They don't see the future value of Netflix being worth $1 billion.
And now you look at it and it's like, well, Yeah, Blockbuster tried to build their own thing, but it wasn't successful for some reason.
I don't even remember what theirs was. Um, and now Netflix is currently valued at, uh, $245 billion.
I think— I keep thinking Blockbuster was privately owned.
No, it was public. It was publicly traded.
Yeah, it was before my time, is when I was still a kid.
Historical charts for Blockbuster. Max. So here's Blockbuster back in their heyday, guys. 2000 or 1999 is as far as it goes back. It ran as high as $30. Currently you can still trade it apparently on the OTC. Blockbuster is currently worth $0.02 a share.
Yes, with one store in Oregon or whatever still.
But the one store in Oregon is just an Airbnb. It's now just an Airbnb. You guys can maybe go to it. It's a sweet Airbnb. Don't get me wrong. Blockbuster. Bend, Oregon.
I'm flexible.
Search. It's probably booked forever, right? Yeah. Okay, so this is the last Blockbuster video, guys. It's in Bend, Oregon. And what they have— fresh article on Zom evaluation. Okay, I'll look at that after. Okay. Yeah, so the last Airbnb was renovated inside to have more of like a homey feel. So there's a A couch bed that you can pull out. All of the videos in the store are actual videos of releases and stuff you can watch. I've been to this location, not when it was an Airbnb. When I was in Oregon, I've been to this location and I saw it. But this, this is kind of cool. So they've changed it. You can watch all the old videos. They've got the VHS, they've got the Betaplayer, they've got the CD, the DVD player. Obviously there's going to be streaming services that are available there as well, which is a bit ironic, but Yeah, you can go and rent it for the night, and you can. It's kind of cool. It's kind of a fun concept. There's a bunch of cool Airbnbs like that. Okay, this is from today at 10 a.m. Valuation on Zemedica. Man, I really gotta take a piss. Okay, I gotta, I gotta get, I gotta use the facilities. I'll be right back. Uh, 1-minute ad. I am trying to get one of these voting ads, guys. So if you're a sub, you won't see the ads. If you're not a sub, I'd love to know what ad you got, if you got one of these voting ads that they're talking about. Okay. No ads, no ads, no ads. If you're a sub, you won't get an ad. Um, share prices attracted Zon's partners to execute warrant options earned from collaboration agreements signed with the company. Still overoptimism surrounding Proforma roulette pushed to overbought levels. 80 cents to a buck 20 is what his thesis is. So this guy is basing his evaluation— hold on, let me open this up so you guys can read what I'm reading. This guy's basing his evaluation on PE ratio. Okay, which is something that it's the buzz term, right? Some regions don't get ads also. Okay, so PE ratio is just another one of those fun things that analysts like to look at and they stake their claims on it. But he's saying in order for Zymetica to reach a PE that's similar to IDEX, which is the major competitor that we were talking about, a potential buyer. out from. What we're seeing instead is this opportunity for Zemedica where they need a net income of $18 million. Now that's— I believe that's annually he's talking about. So for Zemedica to hit $18 million in revenue, which is a lower number than what I had forecast, right? It's too much. Only 1,400 units over 8 months, which equates to them selling 180 units a month. I think that that's possible. Blue Diamond habanero almonds. That sounds delicious. So 180 units a month from now until the end of the year. I think that that's possible, but that's only if you're using PE, right? He's making assumptions based off of numbers that he doesn't have. The terms are not published, but it's reasonable to assume that VMS will take commissions at the sale of TruForma. That's true. They probably will. IDEX has a gross margin of 58%, incorporating a 10% commission cut for VMS. Zom's gross margin is 48%. Based off of what? You don't know the terms of this. No, not Zimmer. Miller. He's saying that there's competition in labs, and this is exactly what we're getting to, guys. If you have to choose, if you are a pet owner in New York State or California, okay, you're a wealthy pet owner and you have to choose between 2 vets. Do you go, do you go to somebody that sends it away and you wait up to 2 weeks, or do you send it to— do you go to the clinic that has it ready for you in 20 minutes? It's a no-brainer, right? You're gonna go to the clinic that has it in 20 minutes. And those clinics that operate in those wealthy neighborhoods, you better believe they're gonna buy this because they want that availability for sure. They are not taking into account hair. Exactly. They're not taking into account the fact— and this is where I'm saying they are like Xerox. They're like Xerox. Not only are they trying to sell you the machine, uh, 12,500— well, a little bit more than 12,500, but I'm using 12,500 as kind of a rounded off number. And that's it. As people buy the machines, they, they're buying the cartridges over and over and over and over and over again. And then Zymetica also has myzymetica.com, which is the, the information system that collects all the information from all the tests and diagnostics, which allows them to sell that information back to vets or to companies like Chewy and Woof to let them know these are the numbers and stats that we're seeing. There's all kinds of different revenue streams that they pull out of this. That these other companies just don't do. He's talking about the moat here. We had just talked about this with 100-baggers, the idea of a moat. So IDEXX is installing 5,700 machines a year at $3,500 an instrument. Figure above does not account for assay sales but still provides a gauge to values on Yeah. So, so his take on this, guys, is it ran too far too fast. The competitors are still offering something that this unit does, which they don't. And he's not able to calculate actual PE because he doesn't have the agreement between Miller Vet Supply. Enzymatica. So he makes a lot of assertions in this article, followed by, followed by saying, well, since I've made all these assertions, you can clearly see that this isn't of value. Also, I'm assuming that all of these tests are purely going to be done based off of the cost of the vet instead of the speed. Right, that was the next step, guys. So next step is to go, okay, well, who is he? What's his hit rate? How right is this guy? Bashar Issa. It's a pretty decent hit rate. Now again, remember with bloggers, guys, With bloggers, he doesn't actually have to take a position in any of this. He can just provide a rating. Um, this is his Blogger profile. Did you get his Blogger profile, or does he have a trading I'm not sure why we would see different ratings, but it won't be for long. Yeah, it won't be for long. It'll be up there by the end of the day for sure. All right guys, it's 10:30. I've got kiddos running around. Portfolio's down still for the day, so I'm, I'm doing what I've been doing— holding fast, holding strong. However, why not get some? No capital. No capital, no capital. Despite BlackBerry getting good news, my leaps are down. DGLY down despite the protests because it's long dated again. I am confident that DGLY can hit that 250 mark, no problem. Yeah, I'm I'm very confident that DGLY can hit that 250 no problem. Yeah, this is— This is gonna get worse before it gets better. It's not the Floyd case. This is the— this is— this is last night. Looting had started, which is unfortunate. Again, guys, I'm all about peaceful protest, but the second you start vandalizing and looting, you've missed the point. Foot Locker, T. Noble, men's clothing store, Walmart, all looted. Young man had an outstanding warrant. Unfortunately, there is a live police call or a live phone call between the young man and his mother. And on that phone call, this narrative that there was an outstanding warrant is fraudulent. DGOY in the past has gone up when riots begin. But so the narrative that the press is putting out based off of what the police say is that there was an outstanding warrant. Unfortunately, there is Police, uh, there is, uh, audio from a phone call between him, him and his mother where he's saying, they pulled me over, they said it's because I had air fresheners on my mirror. So highlights, uh, DGOY could run on BLM protests after this new shooting. Uh, 4/20 is coming up. I'm still holding Zemedica and SNDL, large positions in both despite the decline. And I will be ending the stream any minute now. So, but there's the 411 at least. No, it's unlikely that you got it from the vaccine.
