Hello and welcome. Just checking in, seeing how you're feeling today. Seeing if maybe you need a moment in your day to just slow down, to just be with yourself and your breath. Creating some space from the outside world. The pace, all the distractions, all the people, all the tasks needing your attention. Endless thoughts circling in your mind. This is your opportunity to just slow it down, create that space for yourself. We're going to go into a somatic awareness practice. So I invite you to close down your eyes with me or just be here if it's safe to do so. Let's close down our eyes. Taking a deep breath in through the nose and letting it all go. That's it. Another deep breath in. Filling the lungs, feeling the chest, the belly, and releasing that breath. That's it. Already beginning to notice this slight shift of your attention to your breath, bringing you more inward, taking your attention away from the external world, into your internal world. From here, notice any physical sensations you might be feeling. Maybe it's some heat, maybe your palms are sweaty, maybe it's some tension, slight ache. What physical sensations are you noticing in your body right now? Just bringing your awareness to them. And from here we're going to go a layer deeper into the emotional body. What emotions are currently present for you without judgment, just noticing them? Maybe right now for you it's peace, some joy, maybe sadness, anger. No emotion is good or bad. It's just there to bring our attention to something. Just noticing that emotion there with no judgment, we're going to move up into the mind. We're going to move up to the stories that are playing for us right now. What story is alive for you in this moment? Once you notice that story, maybe you can find a way that all of these things might be linked. If you can imagine a string that's weaving through the story, into the emotion, into that physical sensation. Can you notice if they're all tied together? For me, if I notice the story playing in my mind, maybe it's that story of being not enough. And then from that story of not being enough, what emotion was I feeling? Maybe there was a bit of nervousness, a bit of awkwardness, but also excitement. And taking that string and weaving it around the physical sensation I was feeling. Sweaty palms, slight tension in my neck. Can I notice if they're all related? Just bringing my awareness to that and finally moving into the question of what you are wanting. What is it that you want that you desire? Noticing what's bubbling up for you right now? For myself, what I'm wanting to feel confident Wanting to feel that sense of connection to myself, to you. At the root of that, I think what I'm wanting is that sense of belonging. Just taking that moment, noticing that free my awareness. Beautiful. Let's all take another deep breath in and letting it go. Coming back into the room, maybe moving side to side, rolling out your neck, stretching out your fingers and toes. Lastly blinking your eyelids back open. Taking in the room around you. What do you see? Bringing yourself back to center. Beautiful. So my name is Jess. I am on the Somatic Team. The Somatic Awareness Practice is one of my absolute favorites and I utilize this tool all throughout my day. It only needs to take a minute long for myself. I use this whenever I'm noticing myself. Feeling that sensation of overwhelm or anxiety. Just taking a moment, slowing everything back down, letting it settle, tuning in to what I'm feeling, physical sensation in my feeling. Then to the emotion, what emotion is present for me right now. Then to the mind, to the story, what story is alive for me. Seeing if they're all connected. And lastly asking myself what it is that I want. It can be so powerful to just take a couple minutes to yourself in the fast paced life that we live. That external world that pushes and rushes where our bodies just ache to slow everything down, just get in tune with ourselves. So I hope you enjoyed this daily practice. Like I said, you can use it whenever, throughout your day. Or you can always come back to these replays if you need somebody to guide you through it. Thank you for tuning in with me. Thank you for taking time for yourself as well. I hope to see you again soon. Enjoy the rest of your day.
