The reason you're experiencing overwhelm is you are lacking a clear philosophy. You don't have a framework of evaluation for what to do and what not to do, what to focus on, what not to focus on, what matters, what doesn't matter. Lacking that framework in your mind, that philosophy if you will, everything looks the same. You have no evaluative criteria. Without a philosophy, if everything looks the same, how do you make a decision? You can't. And so because you can't make a decision but decisions are required, you feel overwhelmed. And that's the state of most people because they haven't fleshed out the philosophy. I have a philosophy of where my time goes. If my time, energy, resource, money or sanity and energy goes into something, I believe there has to be an output and that output should have a higher return on value, future value, some sense of growth for me and a lifestyle that I want.
