Magic of HUMAN CONNECTION

Daniel Borschel argues the real magic of being human happens in the space between people, in the quiet moments after words or music where understanding actually occurs. He says we need to cultivate inner space, breath, and stillness so others have room to land.

Human beings are. They're magicians, but not in the illusionist type of way. Well, maybe sometimes with our masks, but. But in a way of such that we are like pure magic. The things we read about in books and our ability to just be able to be everything that we need and to be entertaining and to be funny, to be sad and to be angry are all these incredible things that we get to actually exchange. And I think that the real magic of our humanness, it lies in the space between, because it is in the space that we find everything we're searching for. In music, there is that opportunity to hear the sound after it's been played in that space. When you read a paragraph, it is the space after the paragraph that you get to comprehend what you just read. It is the digestion of things. There is a language. It's called Taki Taki. And it has 340 words. And yet the English language is the most complex, most descriptive, most abundant language the world's ever known. They believe over a million words. We don't have any space even on our own vocabulary, even in our own dictionary. We must cultivate that space, because that is where magic lies. And so we find ourselves learning what it is to hold space, to understand what the inner space is. We spend so much time with the exploration of outer space. Where's the space shuttle that goes into your inner space? That's the breath? And so there is such an opportunity to figure out how you want to use the magic with that space, how you want to play with it, how you want to give it, how you want to hold it so that others can take space.
