Relaxing Morning Meditation - Somatic Daily Practices

A guided morning meditation video (YouTube) led by Adam and Morgan from Somatic Daily Practices. The hosts open with reflections on authenticity, community, and honoring emotions and sensations. The core practice is a two-round breathwork routine: ~30 circular breaths in/out of the mouth, then a round inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth, with a breath-hold on the third inhale held as long as comfortable. The practice includes visualization of energy up the spine to the heavens and down into the earth, combining in the heart, followed by gratitude and gentle reorientation. Closing invites participants to take the connection into daily life and to share feedback via DMs.

A part of this community. You know, we just spent a weekend together with the whole team and truly, like a team of individuals that shows up fully authentic, shows up just at their selves. And I think that is truly why we were all able to connect as deeply as we were this weekend, is because we're not trying to change who we are to appease a certain group of people or show up in a certain way. Instead, we can show up exactly as we are and connect from that place.
I love that this. This pressure that we feel so often in society is to change. Or if we feel an emotion or a sensation in our body, we judge it rather than acknowledging it and just bringing awareness to that and really honoring what that sensation or emotion or story is telling us and then being able to use the breath to maybe pull out a little piece of what really isn't the story that we want to tell ourselves and how we want to feel through the breath work to actually dive in and establish how we want to start our day and go about our day. So I love that and something I shared in the almost a training. I'm used to coming together in trainings, but the retreat is just feeling so much energy and feeling so much growth and even like, just like sweating because there's so much energy and growth and transformation happening. And that can even happen in the breath work and as you dive deeper into yourself. Because we're just. It's not always comfortable, but when we have a space to honor the sensation and to honor the practice, that's where transformation happens.
So, yeah, 100%.
Yeah. And I had someone ask your emotions. Yes. So part of what can come up in this practice is emotions. It can be sensations in your body, like physical releases, even tingling that can come up. But emotions are a big part of what our body uses to express and to release and then to bring back in. So emotions are a big part.
Yeah, I love. You know, as we were chatting a little bit before we got on this call of really like the theme of this particular practice being connection. And I was thinking to myself and reflecting back to this weekend of like, connecting with the team as, as a group, but how is it, are we able to connect with others if we're not truly connected to ourselves? And I think that for me is like the biggest takeaway is that as long as we stay connected to ourselves, as long as we stay connected to who we are, authentically us, that is what's truly going to allow us to deepen connections with other people. Because at the end of the day. If we don't know who we are, how can we expect to to show up in relationships and in connection in that way.
It always starts with us. It starts with yourself and being able to connect more with who that individual is. Who is Adam and his truest, most aligned self and who is Morgan and who is everyone coming on this call and their most aligned and connected self. So such an honor to have you here. First time, coming again. Adam will tell us a little more about the breath once we get into that. But just find a space where you can be comfortable and just won't be interrupted. Maybe moving your body a little bit already just connecting to your body. This journey is done with your eyes closed. So go ahead now I just invite you to close your eyes and just connect with your breath, just going inwards to exactly how your body is showing up in this moment. Just inviting you now to feel in to any physical sensations that are coming up for you in this moment. Just those sensations. Maybe it's tension, maybe you feel loose and free in your back, in your spine, maybe you feel heavy. Just honoring exactly what those sensations are. And now taking it just another step deeper, bringing awareness to any emotions that you're feeling in this moment. Not trying to change the emotions or judge them. Always aware, never judgment. Now taking it one last step and see if you can feel into the stories that you're telling yourself. Maybe it's some of the same stories. Just honoring those stories, bringing awareness. Maybe those stories are tied to these emotions or even physical sensations you were feeling and staying inward, aware, acknowledging. Maybe if something's already coming up for you. Adam's going to guide us to the daily practice breath work.
So as you stay in that place of awareness, we are going to move into our breathwork daily practice and this will be two rounds of breathing. In the first round, we're going to engage in roughly 30 breaths in and out of the mouth, bringing it deeply into the belly and keeping the breath circularly connected. That way you are always breathing in or always breathing out. It may sound a little something like this. Your breathing pattern may be a little faster, it may be a little slower. The importance is more on the depth of the breath and the speed. So find a pace that you can sustain and go with that. In the second round we will breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth, still keeping it circularly connected, still bringing it deep down into our belly. And in between those two rounds of breathing, we going to engage in a breath hold or I'll ask you to take Three deep breaths in. And then on the third breath, you're going to hold it at the top. And you're going to hold it as long as you're comfortable. Taking that time to connect with yourself. So finding that comfortable position again, gently closing your eyes and getting in tune with your breath. Once again, begin to consciously control your breath by breathing in and out of the mouth, deeply into the belly. And let's use this practice to clear out anything that isn't us so we can connect deeply with ourselves. Let's go in and using the breath like a broom to sweep out anything that isn't you. Using the breath to clear out anything that keeps you from connecting to your authentic self. Clearing out any stress or any tension in your body. That's it. Keep going. 10 more deep breaths now. Slowing it down. Taking a deep breath in. Letting it go. Taking another deep breath in. Letting it go. Taking a deep breath in. Holding it at the top. And connect to your authentic self. The top. That authentic self that craves that deep connection. Whenever you're ready, you can let that breath go. Switching to breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth. Breathing in that deepened connection. A deepened connection to who you came here to be. Feeling that connection to yourself expand with each breath you take. What can you call in that will help to deepen this connection? Maybe that's more play in your life. Maybe it's more stillness. Maybe it's more movement. Maybe it's connecting more with others. Whatever you need, breathe it in. Ten more slow, deep breaths, Sam. Three more deep breaths in. Last one deepest breath of the practice. Letting it all go and holding it there. And whenever you need that next breath of air, breathe in the feeling of gratitude. Breathe in gratitude for this deepened connection to yourself. Connecting deeper to that gratitude with each breath. Now staying in that gratitude and allowing your body to just breathe however it wants to breathe and begin to connect with the energy of your spine. Energy that rises with your inhale and falls with your exhale. And with your next breath, follow that energy up your spine, sending it out the top of your head, up into the sky, up into the heavens to connect with with something greater than yourself. Take three deep breaths to strengthen that connection. Now bring that connection to something greater than yourself back down into your body, down through your crown, down your spine and into your heart. Taking another deep breath to anchor it here. Now following that energy of your spine down your tailbone and sending that energy down into the earth. Sending it deep down to connect with the core of the earth. Taking three Deep breaths to ground into this connection. Breathe this connection to the earth back up into your body, back up through your tailbone, back up your spine and bringing it into your heart. Allowing this connection to the heavens and this connection to the earth to combine into your heart, making you the center point between heaven and earth. Deeply connected to both of these energies and deeply connected to yourself. Taking another deep breath in anchoring this connection into your heart. Taking another deep breath in connecting back into your body and taking another deep breath in connecting back with this present moment. Gently opening your eyes whenever you're ready to come back from this practice. And as you continue to come back, just become aware of how much more connected you feel in this moment, how much more you feel connected to yourself, to the earth and to something greater than you. I invite you to take this connection with you throughout the rest of the day and ideally throughout the rest of this week and use this deepened connection to yourself to connect more deeply with others. Maybe be the first to say hello, the first to open a door for a stranger. But first offer an act of kindness to yourself and to others.
So beautiful. I always feel so connected to the room around me after you guide like everything feels brighter. That's beautiful.
Yeah. Yeah.
It truly changes how you show up for yourself first and then for others. And yeah, we'll love to hear as the days or even this day goes on. If anyone feels called to share, always feel free to DM us at Somatic Release or even Adam or myself.
