Setting Your Intentions for 2024 | Somatic Exercises

A January 4, 2024 YouTube live led by Daniel Borschel focused on aligning intention and attention as the basis for congruence and manifestation. The speaker defines intention as "internal tension" (a driving force to embody), argues attention is a scarce resource that directs energy, and emphasizes aligning words, thoughts, actions, and emotions to become magnetic for opportunities. The session includes interactive chat prompts for one-word New Year intentions, guidance on exploring intent’s polarity (what blocks vs. supports it), and a guided somatic meditation (strong spine, open heart, crown/antenna tuning) to recall felt experiences of the intended state. The video also contains a brief announcement inviting viewers to an online practitioner training beginning the following Tuesday and notes that weekly sessions will continue.

People may give a couple moments for people to hop on. The topic of today's live is going to be the alignment of your intention and your attention. A lot of people have New Year's resolutions. I usually have a New Year's intention and I try to boil that down to one word. So while you are listening in, let me know if you can hear me. Let me know where you're tuning in from. Would love to see how far and wide as always our somatic fam stretches. If you already have a one word intention for this year, let me know. Comment below and try to orient it around something that you want to embody, something that you want to receive. Oriented around the positive side. Hi. From Australia. Got Indiana. Welcome. Welcome everyone. So I'm going to lead you through the process of how I like to do my New Year's intentions change. Keep going, keep writing your one word intention. If you don't have it, that's okay. Maybe you'll have it by the end of this. By the end of this. Live magic. Love that Sonia. Alignment. So I'm going to talk about the alignment of your intention and your attention for a little while. That being said, one shout out. We are beginning our online practitioner training on Tuesday. We started off with a powerful session. If you are interested, you can type mentor below in the chat. We'll reach out to you. Someone from our team will reach out to you. We can answer all of your questions. If you want to connect with us, type mentor in the chat box. And we would love to, we would love to answer all your questions and see if it's a good, see if it's a good fit for you. All right, so let's dive in. The alignment of our intention and our attention you can always feel when someone's in alignment. And alignment I've been going through the process of defining like what is alignment? Right. There's a couple different things within alignment to be aligned, which is the, it's the precursor to almost everything in your life. A lot of people talk about manifestation and making things happen and creating, but really I believe that that's a byproduct of how aligned you are in the state of your nervous system because you start to become magnetic. You start to attract people, places, opportunities that are in the same resonance, that are attuned to whatever your intention is and also where you place your attention. So another word to describe that is congruence. A person that is congruent means that all of them are like their words, their thoughts, their actions, their emotions, everything is Communicating the same thing. Everything is saying, yes, we are on board for this. And so the more congruent that you can become, and congruence is usually you want to align your congruence to your intention. Now let's talk about intention. To move with intention, to be intentional, to have an intention. Intention is your internal tension. Now, some people think that tension is a bad thing, but tension, often the right balance of tension is what holds your body together. You are made up of tension between muscular systems and bones and joints and ligaments, and all of that is holding you together. And so your intention is what will hold you together and also what will be communicated outwards and what will be felt by everyone around you. It's your internal tension, your driving force. What is your driving force? What do you want to embody this year? Type it below, let me know. What is your one word intention for me this year? My intention is to create, to become creative, to access, to activate my creativity fully. So if anybody's open, type your intention below. The work often lies in the polarity, in the duality of our intention. That's usually the thing that we need to pay the most attention to, and usually where our work lies. So give me one, give me a hard one. I'll give you a personal invitation based on the polarity of your invitation or your intention. Type your intention one word below if you want an invitation. If not, I'll just keep. My intention is to be intentional. I love that. So first off, let me ask you what we probably need to. You probably need to define that a little bit for yourself. What does it mean to be intentional? So let me know. Type it in the. Type it in the box. You need to define words. For me, creativity is to. How can I infuse myself into external. External things that I produce into the world? How can I infuse my purest essence into the things that I'm producing into the world? How can I produce from a heart, soul level? So the opposite of creativity for me is usually like fear. Fear of expressing myself fully. Fear of judgment, fear of giving a shit what other people think. Fear of putting myself out there fully. So that's where my work. That's where my work is for this year. To choose my actions with purpose. So the work for you, Amber, is to probably look at and, you know, feel into where in your life that you're taking action that's not in alignment with your purpose and try to clear as much of that out because you are intentional. That's who you are most of the Time. The thing we want to receive is already who we are. It's always an internal game. It is just like my favorite quote from Rumi. Your task is not to seek to find love, but it's to remove all the barriers that are in the way. My internal essence is creative. It's who I am. I have to work on removing all of the boundaries that are in the way. And so let's talk about the alignment of your intention and your attention. Those are the two things that you have the most control over in your life. Your intention, what's moving you, what's driving you. What is your. The position that you are orienting yourself to move forward into the world. Then where you're placing your attention. Attention is the most valuable resource that you have. There's a reason that it's being mined like oil. I've heard multiple people say that your attention is the new oil because people make so much money from your attention. So being very specific, where you put your attention, energy flows where attention goes. So your energy will flow where your attention is at. And so the alignment of your intention, for me, it's creativity. Then I have to be very wary of where I put my attention. Is my intention in alignment? Where I'm putting my attention on both sides, it's always a duality. Am I removing the things that are in the way? Am I paying attention to the things that are blocking myself from my creativity? And am I also putting my attention towards the thing that give me life force, that give me creative life force? Right. And so it's a beautiful thing to. If you have a journal for me, I use like an X and Y axis. Your intention is the alignment within yourself, where you are orienting yourself. And your attention is this access of where I need to put my. My attention. So on both sides of this Y axis, you could write what's in the way of it and where you want to actually put your attention. Is this making sense for you? Let me know. This is helpful for any of you. I'm curious. I would love to hear more people's more of your intentions for. For the year. Very helpful. Love this idea. Beautiful. Let's I'll take you through a little guided meditation. Rebirth. I love that. Kayla, I'm excited to watch your rebirth. You have gone through so much, so much. Like, you are such a strong woman. And I'm so excited to see what this rebirth is like for you. Truly. Truly. Okay, so I'm going to take you through a little bit of a guided meditation. Feel free to if you're in the car. Don't probably don't do this. Maybe you can, but go ahead and find a nice comfortable position. Start to align your spine, a straight line energy, that is you. One of my favorite new mantras has been strong spine, open heart, curious mind. What does it mean to have a strong spine? To be rooted and anchored into yourself? Take that position, whatever that means for you right now. What does it mean to have a strong spine? To be so rooted in yourself, in your intention, aligned in your thoughts, words and actions. And while you are embodying this posture of a strong spine, an aligned spine. Start to explore what it feels like to open your heart. What is the sensation that you feel in your body when you start to notice that your heart is opening? Now, there's a duality within this of the strong spine allows you to have an open heart. There is no such thing as having a heart that is too open. There is such thing as having an open heart without a strong spine. That strong spine, that inner alignment of yourself will protect you there, isn't there? Love is not finite. There is an immense amount of it that can be given from you and also be received. So within this guided practice, come back to the alignment of what it feels like to embody this strong spine energy rooted in yourself, rooted into the ground all the way to the top of your head. Open. The tip of your antenna for me feels like at the crown of my head. It's opening and I'm connecting to something that's greater than myself. What is your antenna tuning into your nervous system is an antenna. What are you tuning into? And from this place of alignment within yourself and opening your heart, start to become curious. Curious about what you came here to do in this lifetime. What did you come here to embody? What did you come here to be? Start to notice if a word is coming up for you, one word. When you have that word, type it into the chat. Even if you already did, type it in again. I want to see them all. And from that place, tune in to the last time that you experience this full. I see love. I see acceptance. I see open. I see abundance. When was the last time you experienced this fully? Try to go back to that place. Success. I see a lot of love coming through. Play. When was the last time you experience you experience this completeness? To receive. To experience gratitude? What was the experience like for you? What did it look like? What did it feel like? Responsibility. The ability to respond. When was the last time you embodied this word fully? And from that place where was your attention. When you experience this felt sensation of the intention that you want to embody, where was your attention? Where was your focus? Probably wasn't in worry or doubt, probably wasn't in scarcity. For me, it is definitely when I'm in nature. Start to write down words that are coming to you right now in this experience, write them down. And whenever you feel complete in this, start to bring your awareness back start to bring your awareness back to this live. For those of you that are just joining in, I will post this a little guided meditation on the alignment of your intention for this year and where you should be be placing your attention. So if you have a piece of paper, I would write down your intention. I would also write down where you want to put your attention. Those are the things that you have the most control over, over anything. We can't always control the outside world, but we can't control our state. We can control the intention, the inner tension, the driving force of what's moving us into the world and we can't control where we put our attention. Everything that's not in alignment, you will now know. You will now know when you are not in congruence with yourself, when you're not living from that place of your intention. And you will also know when you're placing your attention where it doesn't belong. I would love to, while we wrap up here, I would love to hear how, how this was for you. If anybody, if anything came up, please feel free to share in the chat. Would love to see, let me see here. I'll also say if you feel called to join us in our practitioner training, I have been hard at work recreating a lot of the curriculum. I'm really excited to run this next round. It begins on Tuesday. If you are interested at all, if you have questions, if you want to connect with us, you can type in the chat mentor and someone from our somatic team will reach out to you and we'd love to love to connect with you. I have so much more to share. I'm going to be doing these again every Wednesday. If there are certain topics that you would like me to cover, please message us. Comment I'm going to be going into more of the meta skills. What does it mean to be aligned? What does it mean to be able to attune? What does it mean to develop range within yourself? Emotional range? What does it mean to actually hold space for yourself and other people? Thank you, Teresa. I'm glad you enjoyed the experience today. All right, fam. I'm excited to witness you in the fullest expression of yourself. Message me if you want to share any thoughts or any insights that came through from this experience. And it's going to be. It's going to be an amazing year. I love you all so much and I hope you have a beautiful day. Until next time. It's never goodbye, it's always until next time because we are always connected.
