A short spoken excerpt argues that ego—acting as if one is always right—undermines relationships and progress. The speaker contrasts defensive, correctness-driven reactions with humility and a learner’s stance, framing progress as directional movement (a vector) measured by velocity toward a desired goal.

Ego can start taking over your relationships where you feel better than, smarter than, more correct, more right than everybody else all the time. What's wrong with all these idiots? And the problem is sometimes you're approaching them like idiots and they know it. One of the greatest positions you can ever have in any conflict is the ability to go. I sense this, I felt this. I could be wrong. Is this what happened? Is this what's going on? I think a lot of progress happens from humility that we can go. I don't know exactly what's going on. Let me engage in learning so I can advance the situation versus act from defense so I can protect myself. Progress means that there's a vector, there's a direction that we want to go. You cannot have progress unless there's direction, right? There's somewhere we want to go. Progress is also measured by velocity or rate or speed of change. Am I moving towards where I want to go or not?
