In this introductory video of a 10‑part series on elite sales techniques, the presenter explains the first strategy: a salesperson must consciously control and sustain a positive emotional condition, termed the “beautiful state.” He argues that losing this state—falling into anger, irritation, or a “suffering stage”—directly harms the sales interaction, causing customers to sense tension and leading to lost deals. Through vivid everyday examples (car sales, restaurant complaints, real‑estate showings, shoe store browsing), he illustrates how negative reactions cascade into poorer outcomes. The speaker outlines practical steps: constantly monitor one’s emotional state, remind oneself that the client is the focus, avoid taking remarks personally, maintain a pleasant tone and body language, and employ quick resets (deep breaths, humor) when tension spikes. He assigns a homework exercise: recall a recent sales encounter where the state slipped, and devise a personal mantra or technique to restore the beautiful state. The video ends by previewing the next lesson, which will address managing the customer’s emotional state.
