How to Price Anything So It Feels Like a Steal

In this solo episode of the Brand Builders Podcast, Daron Pacheco argues that successful sales hinge on selling outcomes rather than products. He illustrates the concept with a case study where a woodworking client received eight leads and a year‑long contract after only a few Instagram Reels, emphasizing that the real offer was "leads and sales" not the videos themselves. Pacheco stresses the importance of a value‑based pricing mindset: a $10,000 offer must convey at least $10,000 of perceived benefit, and the seller should only push a deal they would personally buy. He warns against unethical pricing and overpromising, noting that reputation can be built over years but destroyed in a day. Throughout, he promotes his 3‑day live coaching program, the Profitable Personal Brand Challenge, as a way to help business owners translate expertise into a profitable personal brand. The episode ends with a call to action to subscribe, follow, and apply the principles discussed.

Do you struggle with sales within your business? I wanted to ask you this question because I believe I have found the solution to this question. And it's something that you would think is obvious, but oftentimes forgotten about and very undervalued. It's the idea of selling with conviction. It's the idea of selling a result over a product. And so that's going to be what today's conversation is going to be about. And so this conversation and this topic is close to my heart because it is something that I've had to completely renew and transform my mind from thinking, hey, in my case, I'm not just selling a video, I'm selling the result that that video gives you. And this goes into any industry. It doesn't matter what you're selling, If you're in the mattress industry, you're not selling a bed, you're selling a good night of sleep. You're selling energy throughout the day. Like, it's important to reframe the way that you think about these things because people can sniff it out. People can smell if you are strictly in it to make a sale and take their money, or if you're genuinely trying to help transform their lives, which people will pay good money to do. And so this morning, I think it was really cool. So we had a client message me. These are some of my favorite texts to get. And if you're following me on Instagram, which if you're not, go follow me, Daron Dravon. But I posted this on my story and there was multiple messages about, like, we started working for this client one month and all we're doing is making like 8 Instagram Reels for them. And That was probably 3 weeks ago and we edited the content, delivered it. But the whole idea of it is we aren't selling videos. We're selling what the videos will get them. She texted me this morning. She's like, hey, just wanted to say thank you. Like, we've gotten about 8 leads this week or 8 jobs this week. Um, one of them is going to be year-round work. They're into the woodworking and cabinetry, and they had zero social media presence before this that was for the business. And so she was like, we got 8 clients from that and 3 more leads that are probably going to convert into clients. So literally from like 2 weeks of posting like a few videos a week, we have now gotten them potentially 11 customers and one of them being year-round. The power of that Pretty insane. So that's what we are selling. We are selling the results. We are selling the leads in our situation. And so this can be applied to many different industries. I wanted to spell out what I've seen because we've worked with over 200 businesses now. And if you're watching this, hopefully you're a business owner or part of a business of some sort. But the typical business, they go and sell the thing. They sell a vacuum cleaner. They don't sell a clean house. They sell the mattress like I brought up earlier. They don't sell a good night of sleep. And so this is where most businesses go wrong. And I think it's important if you're the decision maker in this position, you have to make sure that this foundation is laid or else nothing can be built on top of it. That's the reason you use concrete to build the foundation of buildings. Like, if you don't start with a good foundation, a good offer, a good mindset of what you're selling, then whenever you go and market it, you're just going to be promoting a bad sales experience and experience overall using your product. The likelihood of transforming lives is gonna go down. Like, you're not going to be showing the perceived value to the clients. Real quick, today's episode is sponsored by your boy Daron. I wanna ask you a question. If you feel like there should be more business coming your way, then you're probably right. And it's probably not because your product or service isn't good enough, because not enough people know who you are, which is exactly why I created a a 3-day live coaching experience called the Profitable Personal Brand Challenge. In this challenge, I'm gonna show you exactly what you need to know in order to turn your expertise into a profitable personal brand through content. My goal with content and business is not to actually make millions of dollars, but it's actually to build a life around what it is that I want to achieve. And for me, it means more time with my family, more, more traveling, Less stressing about work and working my life away so that I can go do things that I am called to do and serve others and ultimately more freedom. So if you are ready to become known, build a personal brand on your terms and grow your business all at the same time, scan the QR code on the screen or click the link in the description below. I'll see you in the Profitable Personal Brand Challenge. Let's get back to the episode. And it's your job as the business owner to do this during the sales experience. Like, If you're not communicating value with what it is that you're selling, it's not going to work and your conversion rates are actually going to be way lower. Well, let's talk about that for a second. Selling with conviction, I believe, is one of the most powerful things. And whenever I say selling with conviction, I'm talking about, would you buy this thing? Is this actually good value for the client, or are you in a way scamming them out of their money? Especially around our area where I live, this is super common. And 9 times out of 10, we have clients come to us who are very hurt. We're in the agency world, so they have been burned from agencies before. And so whenever I'm pricing this stuff out, trying to figure out, okay, how am I going to price this offer? How am I going to structure it? How am I going to perceive the value? that they're going to be getting at the end of the day. These are things that I am taking into consideration. And if it's something that I'm like, maybe they shouldn't buy it, if I'm talking to them and I genuinely see that this is probably not a good fit, I'm not going to sit there and beg them to do it because I know it's not a good fit. I'm not going to try and force the sale because I like to go at it from a mindset of not really caring what whether they make the sale or not. Plus, if I price something absolutely crazy and I know the quality's not there, I know we're not gonna deliver on what we say, then you are a con artist. And so flip the question around of if somebody was presenting you with the product or service that you're presenting your client, would it be valuable enough that you would pay for it? Another thing that I like to think about whenever pricing these things out Is the value of the thing, although you need to price it, say you have something, say you have an offer that is $10,000, whatever that thing is, that $10,000 offer needs to communicate over $10,000 of value. They need to be feeling like they're getting a deal because it's so valuable. If you pay somebody $10,000 to help you with their business, and in turn that makes you $50,000 to $100,000 extra, I would say the value is 100% there. I would say that in that case, the person selling the thing is getting the short end of the stick. And so think about this stuff. Sell an outcome, sell the result. This is like a huge remapping of the brain that I've had to go through within my personal business. And I know as soon as I heard somebody talk about this and as soon as I learned this, everything changed from then on out. I no longer think about the thing that I'm selling. It's just the vehicle. Every single industry is the same exact thing. It's just how are you making the sales experience and how are you communicating the value and creating a perception of value Within your conversations and in your content, which the fact that you're watching this podcast right now, I hope I am communicating value here through experience. And I'm not charging for this podcast. Like, this is absolutely free for you to listen to and learn from. But hopefully it's a good listening experience. It's a good watching experience if you're watching this on YouTube. And hopefully you can go and apply something today. That's the whole goal of the Brand Builders Podcast is to be able to provide you, the viewer, with a great experience and give you practical things and principles that you can go and use today. And so let me know down in the comments what you've gotten from either this episode or one of the previous episodes. So yeah, people only buy the results. Think about, put yourself in the buyer's shoes. If you're going to buy something, would you buy it? Sell with conviction. It's kind of a shorter episode today, but I think it's very important within the business world because the idea that people are just selling strictly to make money, although you do need to make money as a business, A lot of people sell things and never deliver or are extremely overpriced, and it just puts a bad taste in the buyer's mouth and destroys your reputation. And as many of you know, like, it takes a long time to build a good one, good reputation, but it takes like one day to ruin that entire reputation. And there's some scripture in Proverbs about that as well as how important your reputation is. And so that's pretty much today's episode. I hope you guys found some value and maybe even felt a little bit convicted as to what it is that you're selling and are you pricing it correctly? Would you buy the thing that you're selling? And if the answer is no, then maybe rethink and restructure what it is that you're offering specifically. So thanks for tuning in.
