Half of all.
Americans have insomnia now.
And 9 million people use prescription drugs to go to sleep. Here are three ways to fall asleep at night without using drugs. Number one Block out junk light. Junk light tells your brain when it's daytime and when it's nighttime. Get a dimmer switch and I like to wear truedark glasses, which control lots.
Of things about light.
Color, angle and intensity. Blue light blockers won't do it. Deep sleep is always higher when you control light before you go to bed. You also want your bedroom to be completely blacked out. Use blackout curtains. Cover up the LED lights. Every little bit of light makes a difference. Small amounts of red light are okay. Use it for the nightlight in your bathroom if you.
Need a nightlight.
Number two Stop eating at least three hours before bed. That allows your body enough time to digest food so your body can focus on repair when you're sleeping. Plus, melatonin.
Makes you insulin.
Resistant, so.
Don'T eat right before bedtime.
It's just a bad idea all around. Number three Turn down the temperature. Your body temperature naturally decreases in the first half of the night, which induces sleep and causes deep sleep. Studies show that the ideal room temperature is between 60 to 67 degrees Fahrenheit for the best and deepest sleep. Or you can get bedding that controls your temp. That's what I do.
